public address system---33 million!! now tht's what i call Fresh Air!!!! Sai Jonathan! |
@Beef and Papabrowne: I understand if you have reservations regarding Sahara-Reporters, but this time, are you saying it can't be true that GEJ's inauguration is set to gulp close to the stated amount? |
haha, nice one Ryan, I ve been very interested in who's been hitting that árse! |
why are people bringing sinful this, sinful that, into this matter? There are more than a million things we do everyday that is sinful in the eyes of the Lord, and we all just rely on grace, why should we exempt sex outside marriage in this case? and why does it seem that most people have problems reading? She's not asking for advise on whether you think the dude is going to marry her or not, she's got that side of his commitment assured, for Christ's sake, she's even done introduction and what not, she's the one dating the dude not you, if she's assured she knows him well enough to get pregnant for him outside wedlock, why does everyone else seem to have tommy ache from that? Can't people just think that the dude is old enough to have a family, for crying out loud, the dude might just be in his late thirties who feels the time is ripe enough to settle down. People should really stop making assumptions without considering every sides of the coin. @OP Whatever decision you take in this case should be based on what conversation you've had going on with your baby daddy since the moment you told him abt your pregnancy. |
smh! kcc515:I'm daft, a loser, a failure, a pathetic coward, simply because I wanted to know how "Papa" got his billions of naira? talk about shallow minded Nigerians, these are the kinds of people who would shine Papa's shoe in exchange for some "breakthrough". . .hallelujah! |
Wasn't there a news sometime ago that she lied on her application about an experience she didn't have? |
8 PAGES INTO THIS THREAD AND STILL NO ONE HAS ANSWERED THE BASIC QUESTIONS. JUST USING VERSES TO COVER FOR THEIR LACK OF KNOWLEDGE,MINT!!!!!!!! |
jimblaze:Hallelujah! offering time! |
For the many who have quoted verses and others who feel their demi-god was insulted by my dare questions of how he makes billions, heres are a few more of my thoughts supported by verses {as you may like} First, I do believe that church congregation should have the liberty to give as they want to, not compelled or manipulated to give 10%. Second, all the monies to the church should be used to distribute FIRST to the saints that are desperately in need. If a church has gathered vast amounts from a congregation that is already struggling, then that ministry should have the good heart, love and charity to meet those in need so that their struggle is eased, before even the minsters get compesated. . . .this is what Jesus would have done! Some scriptures for you. Matthew 6:19-21 “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal; for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” Matthew 19:21 “Jesus said to him, “If you wish to be complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you shall have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” Luke 12:33 “Sell your possessions and give to charity; make yourselves purses which do not wear out, an unfailing treasure in heaven, where no thief comes near, nor moth destroys.” 1 Timothy 6:18-19 “Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is life indeed.” Yes, Pastors don't deserve to be poor, they don't deserve to live in like paupers, but their duties ought to be first to the sheep they are meant to look after, not stocking up fleet of cars and new jets! |
pastorkingsleye:oh please don't sell me that crap about "what will happen to you" for daring to question how "a man of God makes money" Life is made up of ups and downs, and in 5 years time, i would have experienced lots of both, nothing you or Bishop can do about that! |
wonderz:No thanks! we are all here to share, debate, and learn (if we want to). don't see how how these objectives are fufilled through off the line |
Olaisrich:lemme guess, the author of this book "broke the financial hardship" by collecting tithes and offerings. . .and he encouraged others to break the financial hardship by "paying tithes and offerings/sowing seeds" etc etc? very apt!. . .no thanks, I think i'd stick with the 48 laws of power! |
Seun:But they all do that, don't they? it seems almost an unwritten obligation--owning a Univeristy that is! |
@Violent,Thanks! But as it is obvious that I am not the only one that needs serious enlightenment here, @Kobojunkie, @jaybee, @jakumo, @bk.babe, @ekt_bear are among the several others who might need elightenment. . . .Do you suppose you could share this knowledge on the mystery of kingdom wealth here, so that I wouldn't be the only one to benefit from it? |
Kobojunkie:I tire o, my sista! I bet these same people would be crawling out like ants demanding Larry King's audacity to dare ask a "man of God" such a question! geez! |
jay bee:It's shocking really, and that's why leaders can get away with soooo much! |
Hmmm gold business? Is he from Ghana? Why were you checking out his profile in the first place. HmmmYes, my sister attends his university, and i rememer she once mentioned something about gold and why am i checking his profile? huh? why do you suppose he has a public profile to begin with? duh! for people to read of course! |
1. Does this mean that because some rules/ commands in the old testament are no longer being practise, tithing which was also mentioned in the old testament should be done away with. That is saying that the whole old testament is no longer relevant - which is not the case.So why exaclty do Pastors seem hold on to this particular one? Again if Jesus did not advocate for his followers to tithe, why do Pastors preach tithing till this day? could it be for personal selfish reasons? @ Violent you seem to know/have the answers to all your questions, so why bother asking us?To be honest, i opened the thread with an open mind simply because i initially thought the dude made his money in gold business before moving into the ministry, but i was gobsmacked when i read his profile and nothing in it shows that he's been doing business previously before his calling. This will mean that he became a billionaire profiting from the people who attended his church, to think some people find this right is totally beyond me. |
The church does a lot of CSR and charitable deeds. One just needs an open mind to see them.Charitable needs? fcking Chraitable needs? If Oyedepo could buy a 30million dollar jet, do you have an idea how many hungry Nigerians could be fed with that amount? ask yourself What Would Jesus Do if he had 30 million dollars? buy a Jet? |
@Duno. For instance, it was a law to stone witches to death in the old testament, even God instructed, "thou shall not suffer a witch to live", yet this law along with several others were abolished in Chrsitiandom simply because Jesus has come to teach us the way of life, and the path to living our daily lives loving God. Question is, why do Pastors still seem to hold on to the tithe thingy? is this a rule of convinience? where does Jesus or his Apostles advocate that believers should contniue to contribute 10% of their earnings for Pastors?-----I maintain this is just a massive fraud! The Oyedepo dude has built a university, one which more than half of his church members would not have the means to attend, the dude now flys in jets, while those who blindly contributed the tithes and offerings could barely afford to survive hash times, does this seem fair? You can say all you want to say, but when a PASTOR can do no wrong in your eyes, your focus might have moved from GOD to the MAN of godYour next drink should be on me! several of those religious fanatics posting here could worship the ground their Pastors thread on. no wonder some of those pastors are addressed by the titles "His Holiness". . .fcking seriously? Many have even forgotten about God in their bid to be religious, why should a Christian watch his next door neighbour starve while contributing 10% of his monthly pay, just for a Pastor to afford a luxurious lifestlye? even God is likely to be very furious with this No? |
GLOBAL X:are you a Pastor? |
@Violent and all your followerProsecuting the body of Christ? Hell No! I simply frown at a society where the poorest are encouraged to part with a substantial percentage of their earnings just so an individual can afford to build a university for the rich and fly Jets across the globe. . . .Is this the body of Christ? |
hopefully, someone could answer this as well If Jesus Christ gave several parables about helping the poor, needy, sick and imprisoned and NONE on tithe paying or 'sowing seed', if the Apostles in the New Testament greatly encouraged helping the poor, charitable acts and ministering to the sick, why are you Nigerians far more interested in paying Tithes and 'sowing seeds' than charity and actual acts of love? |
How come no one has answered this? Ask yourself What Would Jesus Do? Give 10% of his salary to a Pastor who already has two luxurious Jets parked in his hanger along with a fleet of cars. . . . . or give the money to his neighbour who could barely survive on 2 meals a day?. . . .Let's say in this instance, Jesus could only part with 10% of his salary? |
I'm sure as hell this aint going to happen, but if it does, it will sure be a welcome development. I am intrigued by the prospects of shooting some Northern radicals, just to watch em die~! |
Alxmyr:wrong! section 182 applies when a political aspirant is not a citizen by birth! The clause is also that renunciation should be done within five months of registration? Isn't Ajimobi now out of time should he be considering renuncing his American citizenship?which clause? |
I love this new approach to economics! erhm, Mr President, how about the cost of taking Okada?. . it's getting too costly these days! . . . . and while at it, do you suppose you could order landlords to "crash" rental costs too?and oh, i don't mean to be greedy, really i don't, but Iya Basira's sells her fufu and egusi at an exorbitant price, she needs some sai Jonathan, na you biko, GEJ for 2015 and beyond, fresher air!!!! |
PDP has to prove that Ajimobi is not a Nigerian citizen by birth or has renounced his citizenship and pledged allegiance to another country! If this took me only 5 minutes to find out, then Akala has some really smart lawyers who knew from the very get go that this "lost case" will come with massive bills to their client. . . .those boys are only looking to grab what they can while it last, May 29 is really close. |
Sections 29-32 states:
|
Insert Quote Does this mean you cannot have dual citizenship and be governor - a long battle in the courts is coming!!!Where is the contradiction in this case? Section 182 from which the suit is being filed under says: 82. (1) No person shall be qualified for election to the office of Governor of a State if - (a) subject to the provisions of section 28 of this Constitution, he has voluntarily acquired the citizenship of a country other than Nigeria or, except in such cases as may be prescribed by the National Assembly, he has made a declaration of allegiance to such other country; this refers back to section 28 which provides ground rules on forfeiture of Nigerian citizenship and acquisition of foreign citizenship: 28. (1) Subject to the other provisions of this section, a person shall forfeit forthwith his Nigerian citizenship if, not being a citizen of Nigeria by birth, he acquires or retains the citizenship or nationality of a country, other than Nigeria, of which he is not a citizen by birth. (2) Any registration of a person as a citizen of Nigeria or the grant of a certificate of naturalisation to a person who is a citizen of a country other than Nigeria at the time of such registration or grant shall, if he is not a citizen by birth of that other country, be conditional upon effective renunciation of the citizenship or nationality of that other country within a period of not more than five months from the date of such registration or grant. Section 28 refers back to Sections 25-27 and 29-32 which provides ground rules and clarifications on Citizenship:
