Princek12:
What happened to the talents that won the Silver Medal at the recently concluded Beijing Olympics? I feel also that there should be one or two players called from the recent U 17 World Cup. Why doesn't Nigeria ever develop on talents? If this squad he called is essentially the same squad that struggled to beat teams like Mozambique and Tunisia during World Cup qualifying, how does he now expect them to compete against more quality teams at the World Cup level?

Also this shows Amodu is a fool. Yes, a big fool. While other coaches already have in mind a short list of players who will go the World Cup, Amodu is effectively saying that the performance at the Nations Cup will be his way of choosing players for the World Cup. He should make up his mind now and choose his World Cup team, whomever that may be, and use the Nations Cup to blend them together, which would be beneficial because that team will be used to playing together when it's time for the World Cup. Or does he think he can start choosing new players after the Nations Cup?

You guys remember USA '94. Westerhof already had his World Cup squad before the Nations Cup, and he took the same team that represented Nigeria in the Nations Cup to the World Cup, which is a good strategy.
According to you, Westerhof should have called up Kanu Nwankwo and/or Wilson oruma to the USA 94 world cup and the Nation Cup.

Did Amodu ever say that the nation Cup team will be different from the world cup team??

A lot of roads in Naija are bad. I don't know which should be given the gold medal,

As for Lagos- Badagry express way, thats another story on it's own. I have never gone through that road and not encounter go slow. It's either buses stop in the middle of the road to pick up passengers or those mallam that sell ram will block the road with their malu,

The fact that the jersey wouldn't make us play well does not mean we should accept substandard quality.  Or if there is substantial evidence that the kit would make us win the world cup, that is the only reason we should go for it. We have been wearing beautiful jerseys, but this one is very awful

kpolli:
still looking for the part that says they sell drugs, once went to dubai n was accused for te usua naija stuff only to find out that gang that caused the accusation were not nigerians but cos they were black they assume we r one, naija is just suffering from the biggest black nation cos every bad thing is associate wit us, n i state again we r not the only scammers out there, chinese, libyans, lebanese, kenyans n even beninoisers as well,
The SA police are responsible for whatever happens in their country and stop blaming Nigerians. How do they know that the drug barons in their country are Nigerians, yet they have not yet been caught,

In fact , it's no longer news that some Nigerians are mischievous.Recently i watched a documentary on National Geography , titled " Bang Up Abroad" .  It's about how foreigners enter into various kinds of trouble abroad and they come to narrate their story.
This particular episode was about some Americans who were caught in Brazil trying to smuggle drugs and were sent into maximum security prison. In that prison they were met with many Nationals, Asians, Lebanese etc and of course NIGERIANS
.
After a period of time, they became friends with the Nigerians. According to the narrator, ( he spoke about them with awe and admiration )the Nigerians were kind and made them feel at home in the prison. After a period of time, the Nigerians grew to like them and later confided in them about their plan to escape. They told the Americans not to worry that they had everything under control. The prison warder who was to watch over them had been BRIBED. The Nigerians had dug  hole in their prison wall leading outside and had concealed it with cover cloth. On the D day to their escape, the Nigerians were celebrating. They brought alcohol in a big basin and were sharing it to all the prison inmates. They were drinking it and were making merry. They refused to give the Americans, they confided in them that the drink was drugged. So in the middle of the night, all other prisoners were deep asleep as planned. The Nigerians crawled out through the hole they had dug leading outside. That was the escape. The Americans wanted to follow but their conscience troubled them. Although some Nigerians escaped, many of them were caught.
When i watched the documentary, i marveled at our people. Though it was comical, it was as well shameful.

I don't think the Brazilian authorities would start blaming Nigerians or foreigners for their problem. Infact, Nigerians move freely in that country without fear unlike South Africa,

British Laws must be ridiculous, I just imagine whether it's the same in US. If for instance Obama commits a heinous crime after he leaves office, that means he can be deported back to Kenya. Or let's say Arnold Schwarzenegger commits murder, then he should be sent back to Austria. I really don't understand the Brits.

I think it is natural and healthy to ask questions and gain knowledge about lifes big questions. To seperate facts from myths and understand where those superstitions, myths, and religions that people hold so dear and are prepared to die and kill for originated. Which God are you asking if i believe in? Is it the God of the koran, or the bible (of which there are over 33000 denominations), or one of the Hindu Gods, or the deist God, Or maybe one of the alien Gods from planet x or Nibiru or Rizq? What about our own African Gods? Do you still believe in them like our ancestors did?

If you are too afraid to ask questions about your beliefs, how will you know if you are following the right one?.
I believe in ONE TRUE GOD the creator of all things including the angels you are so interested in

I've never heard of something like this. It's absurd. Whatever crime or offense he has committed, he is still a British citizen. After spending over ten years in the country and also representing that same country in a competition should mean that he is a citizen. The worse they can do is to extend his jail term or seize his driver's license. For instance, i can't imagine U.S.A deporting Hakeem Olajuwon if he commits an offense.

Or does he have a different citizenship from the rest ?
Sports › Wenger Wants Country Fa To Be Responsible For Players' Welfare by vislabraye(op): 1:18am On Dec 15, 2009
By Chris Harris

Arsène Wenger has explained why he wants to see changes to the way injuries are handled in international football.

The Arsenal manager is seeking compensation from the Dutch Football Association after Robin Van Persie suffered ligament damage during Holland's friendly against Italy last month.

The 26-year-old striker has been ruled out for up to five months, dealing a significant blow to Arsenal's prospects of a successful season, and Wenger has since called for the abolition of international friendlies during the domestic campaign.

The Frenchman was angered by Arsenal's lack of access to Van Persie in the wake of his injury and believes there is an inconsistency in how players and clubs are protected by the current rules. Now he wants to secure a better deal for them.

"I look basically to rebalance a little bit the power in favour of the clubs," explained Wenger.

"At the moment we feel inside the clubs - and that feeling is shared between many mangers who are responsible in the clubs - that we have nothing to say. Our players go away to friendlies, they come back injured and nobody cares and we just have to accept the situation.

"We have two situations, one for official games and one for friendly games. For me it is a little bit surprising. Why should a player have no compensation in a friendly game where he is less needed than in an official game? The risk is exactly the same.

"And why do we not have the priority medically? If a player goes away on a Sunday with his national team and on Tuesday he gets injured, why has the club doctor not got the right to see the player before he continues to practice with the national team? This priority has to be right.

"Why is it the national doctor under pressure because most of the federations most of the time are political and they will keep the players. After one week the player comes back, he is injured and nobody knows why and he is out for three or four weeks and your doctor couldn't even see the player."

It's very annoying for a player to get injury over a silly friendly game. As for VP case, he's very prone to injury

The SE is very unpredictable. With this present crop of players we have, we shouldn't expect much. Our best SE team of USA 94 couldn't beat Argentina, I'm not sure how far this team would go. Looking at the technical crew of both sides, there's nothing much to write about except that Shuaibu is smarter than Maradonna.
For me it is not about complaining about our image. It's about fairness and critical discourse; you cannot label another country's people for the ills in your society and remain silent about the role your own people are playing in fueling the problem.

It is not just politicians, it is ordinary people as well. South Africans complain that foreigners are flooding their country and competing for resources. But is it not their government/home affairs that is giving people visas? Why haven't they pointed a single finger at their own permissive government?

There are two sides to every coin.
In SA every Nigerian is a drug dealer, they don't want to know whether there are genuine and hardworking  people. As long as one is carrying the green passport, he's a suspect.
The policeman in question speaking is an incompetent dimwit. For him to blame others for his country's woes show how irresponsible he is. If he feels that those responsible for drug offense are Nigerians, why doesn't he fish and flush them out instead of whining.

I'm not absolving Nigerians of any blame, but it's a fact that the average South African hates Nigerians with a passion ( except maybe you are Kanu or Dare Art Alade ).
I recall during the reign of Abacha when also Nelson Mandela was  the president, South Africa was hosting a beauty pageant. Nigeria was also in the competition. Then Nigeria was being ruled by the military and we were facing serious human rights issues. Because Nelson Mandela did not want to identify with Nigeria, he went to the extreme. He asked the Nigerian contestant to leave his country. For someone who calls him self a great leader to act so petty was a shame.

UP GUNNERS! No mind Liverpool jare. They've been loosing and drawing as if it is in vogue, but when they want to meet Arsenal, they buckle up. They are not serious jo. Arsenal is the team every other team wants to beat by hook or crook.

Benitez is beginning to loose it. I have lost the respect i had for him, and i still wonder what the Bleep is he still doing in Liverpool?? ? . He has one of the best teams in Europe and still cannot make a positive headway in the league. He should not only be fired, he should be shot.
