If you read the link below the answer would appear to be yes. http://uk.reuters.com/article/oilRpt/idUKL1718592420071226?pageNumber=1&virtualBrandChannel=0 |
Mr Pataki. With all due respect a mortgage statement alone does not evidence that one is able to accommodate a visitor. All a mortgage statement proves is that you have a mortgage on a dwelling. It does not say how many bedrooms one has. |
When I was a single man I used to live in the house of this white jewish woman (my landlady). She was always going on about how lovely my skin was and how black people were so lucky to have such healthy looking skin, sometimes she would even stroke my arm to emphasise the point. Give it to her I hear y'all say. Well I would have done had she been like 30-40 years younger the woman was at least 75. ![]() |
Funky/Guseman Is it compulsory that one does national service immediately after graduation? I always thought that you only needed to do it if you intend to take up employment in Nigeria after graduation. I mean what about students who wish to proceed immediately after graduation to the UK for a PG degree without having done the National service. Does the High Commission refuse to give them a visa if they haven't done the NYSC? |
Elosela, I have just opened this thread for the first time, and I haven't laughed so much in ages. Frankly you are a woman after my heart. Most of what you said in your opening post is so true. I have many friends and relations in good old US of A and they are ALL, without exception, amazed at the amount of paid holiday and flexibility at work UK workers get. Your comments about maternity pay is also true and a lot of Americans and indeed nationals of other countries are jealous of this. I note that none of the posters here have addressed specifically either of these or other positive points about the UK. No mind them, na so, so bad belle de do them. ![]() BTW which part of London do you live in. More grease to your elbow my dear and don't let the haters get you down. |
I've heard a lot of great things about Calabar, particularly its orderliness and cleanliness. Has anyone got any pictures of the town which reflect this? |
anusule:Why do you say that? I think Awan Boiz is just saying the truth, though I am not sure the original poster will understand a word he has said. |
Vicjustice is spot on. Though you probably wouldn't have a problem with Nigerian immigration, apart from paying them the customary bribe . Your problems may stem from even boardingthe aircraft in the UK to return to Nigeria. Without a valid travel document the airline is at liberty to refuse to allow you to board. As vic said your best solution would appear to be to obtain a Nigerian visa in the UK. |
OK!! For the last time. . The very last time. . SHE DID NOT NAME THE TEDDY BEAR!! Quote from Khai-Khai. Logged She may not have chosen the name herself but she is their teacher and is therefore supposed to educate the kids. Suppose the kids had decided to call the bear nigger or maybe shagger or something sexual, shay she go siddon say no be me name de bear na de pickin choose am. The point be say to call anything apart from human being Muhammed in the Islamic world is offensive. I agree there is something of an overeaction but y'all shouldn't be so quick to condemn another societies laws and customs. She as a teacher should have known better. And don't forget na the same "CIVILISED" USA de fry pesin for electric chair, in western Europe we consider such punishment barbaric. |
Biomic You look too hard and tough in dat ya pic. It screams, "don't mess with me or i'll cut ya" ![]() Why not post one where you are smiling I'm sure you'd look great. |
Ajile, I can't see any benefit in applying through an agent so long as your application is solid and on point. What I would suggest you do before submitting your application is to read the whole of this thread and other student visa related threads. You will pick up a lot. In particular I would suggest you you pay particular attention to the contributions regarding company sponsorship and the legal implications of this. Good luck. |
Ama, Ignore the opinions of the Neanderthals on this board. What the guy did to you was despicable and actually amounts to a criminal offence for which he could well serve jail time or at the minimum get a fine and conviction. Different societies have differing ways of dealing with such offences. It is not clear where the offence actually took place, if you are in the west (i.e USA or Europe) all you would need to do is report it to the police and in most cases the law would take its course. In Nigeria however, it is different. The attitude is that of what a lot of posters here have exhibited. Can you imagine walking into a Nigerian police station to report the assault. I bet you will get laughed at and asked things like; "wetin you go find dia?" . Even to convince members of you own family may be an uphill task. In short you will probably feel humiliated and even more angry if nothing comes of it. My advice to you is to put it down to experience, be thankful it wasn't worse, stay well clear of the guy and don't in future be so trusting of men and people in general. Sorry if this is not the solution you really wanted to hear. The pity of it is the guy is obviously very brazen and possibly a dangerous sexual predator, I pray no other innocent female falls into his clutches. |
tosin_tp:The short answer is none. In fact, it is to your advantage and the disadvantage of the presenting officer if the bundle is not submitted prior to the full hearing of your case. |
Kelly24 Have you read this thread and other related immigration threads by any chance? If you do I am sure you will find an answer to your questions. Frankly I am fed up answering questions which with a little bit of dilligence from the questioner can be solved. STOP BEING LAZY. ![]() |
Troubleone:Trouble, Exactly what do you mean by somone "exploring" her? ![]() |
I have just discovered Asa-FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN. The girl has definitely got talent. |
Moody, The guidance you have have quoted with regard to Nigerian ETDs would appear to show I am correct and you CANNOT use the ETD to travel back to the states. I think the lady at the embassy is chatting pure nonsense .It is only valid for a single trip to Nigeria. BTW there is no such thing as a Nigerian embassy in Lagos or anywhere in Nigeria for that matter. Make you think about your trip well well or you go just dey stranded for Nigeria. |
Moody How do you intend returning to the US after your time in Nigeria? I'm not sure you can use your ETD to return and your green card is not in itself a travel doc. That only leaves you getting a Nigerian passport in Nigeria. Hope you are well connected. ![]() |
Ako Haven't yet perused the new visa application form, but how or why would a genuine visitor be in possession of a NiNo? |
As I said, Tinapa is nothing but a glorified shopping mall. I sincerely hope I am wrong but if care is not taken it may turn out to be just another addition to the number of Nigerian white elephant projects. ![]() |
It was certainly commissioned on this date. But whether business has commenced at this glorified shopping mall and it is actually open to the public I am not sure of. Is there anyone here who has actually bought anything from there? |
ajile2:Ajile, Before you apply I suggest you read the following thread especially my advice in post #14. https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?topic=40828.msg912356#msg912356 Good luck. |
I have come across several Nigerians with this type of visa, but the common thing to all of them is that they all had legal residence in a country other than Nigeria. I too would be interested to know if there are any Nigerians granted this visa from within Nigeria itself. |
Excellent advice Salsera. Liliana, you have posed this question previously and I am quite sure I gave you a full answer. Take the time to trawl through this thread and you will find it. But essentially your siblings would not qualify for any sort of residence rights by being born here after the cut off date for automatic citizenship by virtue of birth. On the basis of the information you have provided they will have no claim to ROA status. Sorry. |
London Cool Yes a TWOV is concessionary, but in practice regardless of your nationality it will be granted provided provided you do not have an unhealthy immigration status and you have a category D Irish/EU visa or you are an Irish resident. On a related note I have a cousin who has transited the UK with his Nigerian passport without a UK visa on several occasions on his way to the USA, he holds a valid US student visa and has never had a problem with UK immigration. |
LondonCool:I believe there are some exceptions to this general rule. If you are a resident of another EU country and hold a category D EU visa then you will not necessarily require a UK visa to transit the UK to Ireland. |
It is actually Piccadilly circus and not square. |
Babycool, I can show you the sights(and more ) . Yousure have a fine booty but why don't you turn round mek we see weda de face match the booty? ![]() |
I lived in Jos for two years in the eighties. It never snowed but I remember there was a hailstone storm once. |
Going by your logic Chichi that nobody is illegal, then everyone and anyone should be permitted to arrive in Holland and stay there for as long as they like. What then is the point of having immigration controls? |
Chichi I am afraid I don't agree with you. What is so sacred about social gatherings that the police cannot raid? If it was a church or other religious institute they raided then I might agree with you that it is immoral, especially if there was a service going on at the time. Where in Dutch law does it say the police can't police social gatherings, please direct me to the provision. In any country being there illegally is often a criminal offence. So as I said previously if dem no get papers then they are breaking the law and should expect to get arrested and possibly deported no matter where they are found. |
