Autos › Need To Charter A Bus (at Least 18 Seater) For A Trip Within Lagos by wackpoet(op): 8:46pm On Jun 10, 2022 |
Like the subject said, my colleagues are having an event and need to charter a bus from the Lagos mainland to Lekki. The trip, the event and the return trip would last about 8 hours give or take. Does anyone have links to transport companies that offer this, or contacts of drivers that can do this and price. Please let it be affordable o. Abeg. |

JAMO84: This is heartless and cruel.
When Abba Kyari died from COVID 19, many of you spat on his grave. You opined that he deserved to die, what was his offence that made you hate him, even in death?
WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND Your brand of mental illness must be of a psychotic nature for you to compare the gruesome death of this innocent, young, medical talent at the hands of terrorists enabled by bastards like Abba Kyari. I hope a thousand Abba Kyaris and all his ilk die the worst kind of death. And I pray the same death visits you and all who support this wicked adminstration. |

Fixey: You are short sighted. Very short sighted. Is your jobless better than the 50% for four months for goodness sakes
You are looking at the job, you don't know the relationship he has maintained to have the job and access. Please work on your values. However wrong we may say this is, it's just a short term burden and you'll have your freedom. What are you even saying sir? Why are you encouraging such wickedness ? I understand the man is doing him a huge favor by giving him an in to a " coveted " job, and he can ask for appreciation in some form. But 50% ? For four months ? How much is transport to and fro the place? If the place is in a different location, what of accommodation? Feeding ? I suspect you are probably doing this to someone else, that is why you are defending this behavior. Let us learn to help people genuinely abeg, life is already hard, and Nigeria might as well be hell fire. Stop using your influence to fan other suffering people's flames of poverty and suffering. |

You can see how the Lagos State government is now referring to what was a legitimate protest as a riot. Same thing that was done to Aba Women, who were also killed as they protested. A couple of decades down the line, those whose kids are unfortunate to grow in Nigeria would learn of the "EndSars riots" in Social Studies. And that is how history is rewritten. |

Wow. I have got to say I just read two of your interview series bigcabal and they've been the most interesting and inspirational thing for a young struggling boy in this Nigerian economy. I'm super happy for the interviewed guy whose financial situation has greatly improved. It just goes to show the importance of not giving up. I am curious as to what gigs resulted in getting up to 800k monthly.
Also this is equally front-page worthy. Lalasticlala |

Abeg nobody should qoute me oo , i nr get strength to argue na poly i kuku go... Funny how I love the red sands. Its one if the most beautiful things that remind me of home. The structures while old and washed still look strong which underscores quality. A lot of remodelling needs to be done I agree, but I feel the school should retain some of it's historic buildings and aesthetic, and just retouch and refine them. Nsukka is one of the most written about schools in Nigerian literature. I'm not even from UNN. I am a product of the greatest Akokites of Unilag, but I admire richness of history and natural beauty when I see one. |

purples25: I'm here for some opinions and correction/criticism. . Firstly, I don't think Nairaland readers are the best judge of your literary works. That's because there's a wide pool of characters here and as can be seen from comments a lot of them do not have the patience to sit and digest a good story. They need fastfood information. Simple, cliche, sensational. Keep writing though. I'd try to check your works when I'm free. 1 Like |

This is honestly the best thread I've read in my years on Nairaland. If there's a way to pin this permanently to the front-page, please Seun should do so. Your strength is inspirational. Thank you so much for sharing. Do consider writing as a side hustle. Your life story though sad would make for an incredible read. It could be a hobby for your free time. You could get professionals to proof-read and edit and ask on Nairaland for help in publishing. Regardless keep up the fighting spirit. God bless you chief. |

Literature › Re: Chimamanda Adichie Names The 4 Writers That Changed Her Destiny by wackpoet(m): 9:35am On Jan 28, 2019 |
PearlStreet: Bro, that's the sad truth.
That's how most Igbos see other Nigerians. Igbos and others.
Chinua Achebe carried this same bitterness in him and that's why he wrote the last piece of trash he wrote. In fact, GEJ was so pissed that he didn't give Chinua Achebe a state burial and Chinua was buried like a dog.
Do you know that till today, as eternally stupid as it sounds, most Igbos still blame Soyinka for not allowing Chinua Achebe win a Nobel.
One was arguing with me last year that Achebe didn't win a Nobel cos he supported Biafra. I had to remind him the Soyinka supported Biafra and in fact, was jailed for supporting Biafra. As at when Soyinka was jailed for Biafra, Chinua Achebe was travelling around the world, sleeping with college girls in America.
Chumamanda is just a chip off the old block: clannish, tribalistic, bitter and frustrated feminist. I think the problem here is comprehension. She was at an Igbo cultural event. She was speaking on her writing influences that are Igbo. She was stating her opinion. You are a bigot. 1 Like |

Conspiracist: #4: The holy grail of paleontology In September of 2018 a group of Australian scientists managed to finally identify a fossil that's been stumping experts since its discovery in 1947.
Found near the White Sea in Russia, this 5.1 centimeter-long oval-shaped fossil with symmetrical ribs was given the name Dickinsonia.
The creature died in a place that, back then, was a great ocean, meaning it was more than likely an aquatic creature, or at least able to survive in ancient waters. "Dick"insonia went unclassified for over seven decades but has finally been proven to be an animal. It's considered to be the holy grail of paleontology, as Dickinsonia is actually an animal that lived 558 million years ago. This makes it the oldest animal ever discovered and likely one of the first complex living things to exist on Earth.
I know these names are often given based on Latin, but come on, "Dick"insonia? Okay, we gotta name this thing. A lot of people are gonna be saying its name. Dick insonia. That's gonna be funny. I didn't touch her. I just found my " dick" in Sonia. |
