Many people were just bringing their phones to show the test result . Asked a couple of people and yes it was the free NHS covid test so check for the testing centre closest to who is travelling . The test result usually comes out in 24hours both for private and NHS
On getting to naija ... naija government is charging arriving passengers 51,000 naira to do another test in nigeria so hold your naira That country no fit surprise person just for 1 second...... what’s the benefit of being a Nigerian ? |

excelchips: Hello my people, Kindly assist to clarify my issue. will schooling in any of the Russel group of schools would give a brighter chance of getting job after schooling. I have applied for an MSc in 2 UK universities though I'm still expecting their feedback but I'm being tempted to apply to Queen University Belfast being a member of Russel group of schools. However, the course fees are on the high side compared to others 2 but I'm now confused on the next step if the higher fees could justify it at the end. Though, I'm always ready for any challenge wherever I find myself but skeptical on what the future hold as regard getting job within 2 years allotted time for Post Study Work Visa.
Thank you. My Brother *3 !!! Choose an affordable school go do your Msc. In this country experience is more important than your degree. ..... Even people with more experience are loosing their jobs in the UK so I don’t see where Russel group of schools would take you. ..... On a personal note: my degree and masters in engineering didn’t get me a job in oil and gas after graduation. But after a year or 2 of work experience I got lucky and landed good job.....So get your Msc and build your work experience that’s your sure root up the ladder... Good luck |

You need to build up your score if you have bad credit rating (These things take time) ... pay up all your debts or avoid late payments, pay your bills in time, use less credit from your credit cards, register yourself on the voters register..... within 3-6 months you’ll see gradual improvements. But if you’ve got a bad credit score it will remain on your record for 6yrs ....... Room was not built in a day |

Any other resident can park there (first come first serve)However, you can park on any space around the street and make sure your permit is on display on your dashboard if not you’ll still chop parking ticket ..... There is nothing stopping your partner from applying for you guys to come along. However Msc. has a maximum duration of 18 months. It depends on the type of car you buy. Expensive cars with expensive insurance and the rest. You have to pay congestion charge as well, fuelling cost, cost of parking you car, road tax.... etc... If you live and work in London, you won’t need a car as there is 24/7 public transportation... I got a car when I moved out of London and started a family. gratefulme40: Quite frankly, I didn’t escalate it when I moved it. It was a very tiny little crack or slit ( you know like making a line with a razor blade). It didn’t seem like anything to me but I realised it was extending with time and the tray felt like it was gaping hence I reported it. Now, they say it wasn’t reported in the inventory. But any case, whether it was there before I moved in or it developed after I moved it, is it the tenants responsibility to fix such problems?? I mean broken door handles, hinges, batteries and stuff I can understand but things like this surely shouldn’t be the tenant’s responsibility na. The letting agents have to inform the landlord to repair the broken shower tray. If you decide to moved out and not renew your lease, they will have to either repair or change the tray and make it presentable before they re-let out the apartment to a new tenant. On the other hand it’s about your comfort, so I suggest you repair it and send them a genuine invoice. They can either subtract the cost from your rents or spread it across. (My advice is that next time don’t try to manage a problem as we always do in Nigeria) Report it with evidence so as to cover your back. |

omopapa: Apply for provisional license from DVLA website £50
Buy the official DVSA theory test kit in App Store I think it’s £4.99 and start practising for your theory test. Get familiar with all the questions on there and you are rest assured to pass it easily
Find driving instructors in ur area to start practical lessons. Most of them give discount for new drivers you can find as cheap as 3 lessons for £50
or if u have someone with a FULL license for more than 3 years and over 21years old, they can teach you provided you buy an “L” plate and stick on the car.
You don’t have to pass ur theory before u start taking lessons. You are right. However I think it’s a waste of money taking practical driving lessons when you’ve not passed your theory. ... Also if you don’t understand the terminology in the theory booklet or app how are you suppose to enjoy ur practical driving lesson.... But if you’ve got money to waste go for it |

justwise: Bringing up well behaved children is not about giving them money and best gadget money can buy in place of quality time with them, its about discipline, financial education, stamping out any snip of wayward behavior at the young age before it becomes way of life.
Kids who grew up depending on bank of mum$ dad can't stand hardship, can't survive without running back to family house when the going gets tough. This discussions is very interesting. From information Ive gathered from my partner who is a teacher most of the children who have their mums at home don’t necessarily behaved better than their counterparts from middle/ working class families. Because most time these sit at home mums have nothing to teach these kids or to help them with their homework. And most times the man of the house gives the responsibility of bringing up these children to the woman since he is the only one working. On the other hand, children from homes where both parents work sometimes need more attention from the teachers....If I was a woman I won’t want to site at home Monday to Sunday unless am taking a year on maternity..... My opinion |

nihilistjnr: if you are here legally, it's difficult to see how you would regret your decision. Whatever your level or qualification in life, it's highly likely that you're doing far better here than in an equivalent position in Nigeria, in financial terms, as well as quality of life metrics.
The only caveat is if you enjoyed political patronage in Nigeria, or were part of the ruling class - in what case, you wouldn't even be here. 1. Is there any one here working in the health and safety sector, or HSE or oil and gas industry who can give me some tips how to get a job in that sector or industry or both?
2. I have been out of work for about 3 years (pregnancy and childcare) and looking to return to work, any advice on what to do to break in. Any remote work advice especially as I still have under 5s to care for.
Many thanks for your responses.
