Good percentage yoy improvement. But what are the qoq ℅age figures like?
You should be asking what are they up to? I believe they may be planning to raise funds hence the 'fantastic' result. One of the stocks I am eyeing but very illiquid. They entered into some partnership last year to bring some foreign capita.

I still believe those billions of units of transcorp bought at 2.27 will not be sold at a loss.

At least it hasnt showed in the volumes sold after that very day.

25% profit must be made

You will start seeing full bid by monday.
Those billions may not be true 'sales'. It may just be crossing among same investors. For example, Tony may be crossing from one holding Company to another holding Company.

Some people need to average down naww and then change short term trade to medium term. Borrow one more time to average and switch to long term. We are getting there soon.

I'm thinking of a project.

If people could be trusted, it will be great for a select number of people to pool funds and gradually buy shares of a tier 2 bank. We will employ a director (preferably Wanaj or Pa Emma) to sit at the board. The director will be our eyes and ears in the bank. It will be an activist investor group (Carl Icahn way).

The small company so formed will have every member as a stakeholders. It could be a-10 man or a -20 man company.

Dividends will be shared based on ratio contributed. Sales and income generated will be based on ratio contributed.

Why should this be done? Your N200m investment in a tier 2 bank cannot force the bank to make drastic changes. However a - 15 man investment of N200m each (N3b), if bought at low prices, will cause a major change in the affairs of the bank.

What do you think??
Good idea BUT be careful. Nigerians will rather hold 100% of NOTHING than 1% of SOMETHING. We are too individualistic. There is a GAME theory around that.

Also, having substantial shares does not guarantee you a board seat except you are invited. There is also boardroom politics. You dont become 'major' shareholder by buying on the floor. It is usually through strategic investment.

You also need to have exit strategy in place. This strategy will only apply for LONG TERM investors and not traders.

BTW, what happened to all the investment clubs formed during the 2006 to 2008 boom. Kai, peopel done pay major school fees oooo

CI Leasing is a 'good' candidate.

Check yesterday indices across all countries. Only very few green. All others were red. Guess it is connected with the depreciating USD. I think the investors are getting funds and bidding anything that is quoted in USD - oil inclusive.
Which may make the oil price to even go up higher.

Even on full offer. Transcorp still had an inflow of 178million naira.

This is a good sign.
Is that so? Ok then.

There is no big deal about what is happening in the market. The movement we have seen so far was brought about by the surge in oil price. Stocks are gradually retracing their steps to fair value. Therefore, everybody wants to take their little profit/loss (to avoid stories that touches) and sit back waiting to see when market will stabilize.

I only pity those that enter high for now, though those stocks will still get back to where they bought it if they are patient enough and surpass it, (I am not talking about FCMB and Diamond o)

DD please.

All these happened before the downfall of oil price.

Seriously, if oil hadn't taken that kinda nosedive, Oando won't be doing so badly (though the stealing would have continued though).
Oando's problem had LITTLE to do with Oil Price. You think the findings by SEC were because of Oil Price.

OandO is a BADLY managed company with no interest of the minority shareholders at heart! They are cowboys who don't follow any rules.

If you want to make money, then BUY the shares of Ocean and Oil. OandO people are their to make money for Ocean and Oil!

You can hardly go wrong with fundamentally sound stocks. It is a matter of time before the market will recognise the value.

Same for stocks with no 'value'. It is a matter of time before the market will recognise how useless a stock is. Danger is when you want to jump out of those socks, it can be almost impossible!

Those buying now got money when United Capital was 72kobo but were not interested.

He will dislike Wanaj0 ONLY if he doesn't know him. Wanaj0 has maintained that buyers will always make money buying oando shares and some will definitely lose money.

Both has happened to me and oando practically made me ditch long term investing.

I bought at N14.+ after one of those several right offers and watched this stock trade above N28.00 but didn't sell. I was looking long term....

Ended up selling at about N8 after it dropped to about N6 and rebounded.

TS might be lifted tomorrow and the share price will go up but if care is not taken, those guys rejoicing today might be looking for buyers at N4 later on.
You need to change the lens that you are using to view 'long term'. It was pretty clear what the Long Term for OandO is looking like smiley

Mangal's petition was the reason for SEC's findings, the same findings that called for the audit. The man says he has withdrawn his petition and some hungry ossg are looking for who will oil their hands.

Who will pay the 160 million naira forensic audit fee? SEC or OSSG?
I guess SEC findings will disappear because the petition was withdrawn cheesy

OandO will pay for the FORENSIC audit.

I pity the minority shareholders who will eventually pay for the mismanagement

Wale will soon be telling us OANDO has found a vast reserve of oil on the moon and his team is presently drilling as he is sitting right there talking..... grin
Well, you have a choice to believe the lie! Buy the TRUTH and SELL it not.

With the number of shares on NSE, it takes a serious gambler to even consider OandO! The company is on LIFE support. If WT is not careful, OandO will be owned by his creditors. The 'scam' can't go on forever. Mangala's case is just an example.

Anyway, Happy Investing wink

you be my chief BOSS sir i can't ague with you

but i use to base my numbers prediction on only latest number i never annualized

base on Current q2 UPL at today N2.28 is a good deal in my own opinion

cc newbies that buy low volume below 300k unit

grin
Their Q2 result can be misleading. Issue with UPL is they usually make losses in other quarters due to the seasonality of their market. So the EPS tend to 'reduce' in Q3 and Q4. Just factor that into your valuation.

cha! we pointed out caverton numbers when price was less than N1.20 see price now

grin
Be careful with UPL. Their profit is seasonal. The remaining quarters will be POOR. Don't do a linear anualisation of the EPS.

Audits are conducted yearly. An account qualified this year does not stand qualified forever. The accounts of BankPHB, Springbank, and the other banks that went under was sold to AMCON in August 2011 were never qualified.

So an auditors opinion should be combined with other facts to reach a decision. In this Naija, Oando will not go down just like that. If only you know those that pushing the petition from behind.

Cut that guy some slack, WT is actually a cowboy.
Exactly why minority shareholders have seen their value destroyed over the years! When you enter the upstream and you get listed on other exchanges, you will be found out! Just go and look at AFREN.

If Spring Bank etc did not have their accounts qualified yet went under, you can imagine what will happen to a company whose account was qualified.

The problem with OandO has little to do with SEC. The problems were there before the Mangala petition. The Ansbury petition is still pending.

Would really like to understand what the attraction is to OandO by any investor.

Oando will now start churning out good news.

Oil discoveries, payments of debts to banks, increase in production in this and that fields etc.

Only an ignorant person will fall for the lies! what good news will eradicate account qualification by an auditor? When an auditor doubt your going concern! Of course many investors dont even read the annual reports cheesy

BUT the problem is NOT the petition. The problem is that you have a company with POOR corporate governance that is poorly managed without any care for the minority shareholders. There is nothing being done to create value for OandO minority shareholders. Like I told people years ago, just invest in Ocean and Oil! That's the real 'OandO'.
