Thanks for the info, I'm about sending in my c.v dont worry i'll make you proud. lol Seriously though, i believe Nigerian Graduates are mostly subjected to unfair criticisms. True the system has been bastardized, true you can buy your grades if you've got the means, true half baked graduates are churned out sometimes, but is really all doom and gloom? Are all Nigerian graduates worthless because we have a crappy system? Do they all deserve to be described with that ridiculous phrase 'today's Graduates'? I remember standing at the podium while studying late at night in my school auditorioum, an over 1000 seater hall filled to capacity with each student with either a candle, lantern or rechargeable - yes no light and even when there was light, the few fluorescents that were still functional provided only a miserably poorly lit hall, From the podium it looked kinda beautiful to behold with the Hundreds of individual lights, but beyond the beauty I was always encouraged by my the number of those folks that would choose to brave the heat, strain their eyes with their swaying candles and choose to spend the night studying than do what was natural - sleep. Chuks84:So if u were Gej and She comes to you wanting to prosecute some1 u'lld tell her No abi? So u'lld give her an excuse to be dormant abi? Knowing she's still smarting from the exoneration of Ribadu you would give her more ammunition to say U're shielding corrupt people from getting tried abi? Abeg put your Okpolor eyez to good use. 1025:I see u are the main attraction in the Circus. Please allow me to pick your brain a little before I respond to your flawed reasoning. Please remind me one of those crimes Ribadu committed. If I were u, I'lld pick the worse of them. Over to U. |
Blazay:And only a fool would choose to dig up a hole to fill a hole! |
And why do u clowns think Gej is responsible for this? Are u all so shortsighted that you cant see this is madam Waziri trying to make herself relevant? By the way, this thread is duplicated so u can take your jargons to , //www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-564193.0.html |
I maintain that involving Cheney in this whole mess is nothing but an attention seeking stunt by the EFCC. Whatever they set out to achieve can be done without dragging Cheney into it and the deeper they drag him into it, the more ludicrous the whole charge would look like. Beaf:This isnt about being scared. U dont just wake up and decide to test your political strength against the US. Its like the proverbial Child that chooses to challenge his chi to a wrestling match because he had a satisfying bowl of pounded yam. Are u guys assuming this whole case isnt embarassing to the US? or is the reasoning like; Whats so special about the US, we can deal with them anyway we like. And to that I ask really? |
Lets give GEJ some credit. |
@Bluetooth, Please stop displaying your naivety. Going by your reasoning we should be expecting Cheney in Naija in the coming days abi? I bet He's being rounded up as we speak by the FBI. My friend just laugh at yourself for fantasizing that much. |
@Bluetooth, And this is my problem with folks like u dat act like u know everything when actually your every sentence is a credit to ignorance. So really u know much about international relations ? Pls wats happening to mr Assange? In which countries is he being hunted? Why would a country suddenly issue an internatnl arrest warrant for 'se.xual assault'? In whose interest are these developments? Or r u assuming Sweden and Uk are not Sovereign? My friend sovereingty only begins where interest ends, the US and every powerful nation would put their interest first b4 your sovereignty so pls dont give me dat crap abt Ngr being sovereign as a basis 4 anythin. Secondly do u really think the US would be glad 2 have a 3rd world country make a criminal out of its one time VP? Of course I know national pride is an alien term to Nigerians considering how synonymous we are 2 all d negative stuff, but do u really think a US that went to war to secure its economic interest would stand and watch one of its most respected Republicans ridiculed in Ngr for doing what every Republican thinks is right? So u really think the US would have us prove that they elected a corrupt officer into office for 8yrs abi? Sori but I see nothing but ridicule at d end of this. |
Not sure about what an ineffective EFCC is trying to prove by charging a US ex VP. I hope the speed with which this case would probably be dismissed wont end up bringing international ridicule on an already locally over maligned GEJ government. There's enough reason to suspect madam Waziri's motives. |
Goodwill in Accounting is understood to be inherent in a business and inseparable from it. Ribadu enjoyed his own fair share while bursting crime and while fighting off his accusers, carrying over that same Goodwill from one line of business (crime fighting) to another (politics) was always going to be a herculean task especially when your only forte is your own perceived popularity and right standing, ask Pastor Chris Okotie. |
Sad, Sad and so sad. Rest in Peace Bro. |
evilspirit:U're Wrong. Even some 'right persons' have the interest to run when they ought not to. Sorry if that sounds like a Paradox but truth is just because u r perceived to have integrity does not qualify you to be a Leader. Sanusi is serving a purpose in the position he's in right now, maybe some day He would be the man the entire country would look up to for leadership but as of today, we r better off having him as our CBN governor. If the likes of Ribadu and Utomi would humble themselves and choose to play smaller roles in our country we'lld all be better off, but of course why would they accept smaller roles when they all believe they to be President to make a change. |
@Stranger, Make Thunder fire you there! |
^^^ Take am easy na. |
Ziddy SLS is only dancing to d gallery. He's made no real attempt @ solving d numerous economic issues facing the country. He is more of a politician than a technocrat. The last 2 administrations (Yardua and GEJ's) seem inclined towards monetary regulation of the economy as against fiscal regulations. One would ve expected d CBN to ve keyed in on this and to brought up brilliant policies that would ve helped shape the economy for the better. But we see are circus performances. Or can u tell me any improvement u ve noticed in the economy? Unemployment is @ an all time high. Industries are closing up daily, the financial market is barely alive and everyone is out hailing the chief circus man.
I agree with u in that d economic issues facing the country have not been solved, but if u objectively examine how relatively well the economy has done with majority of its banks on their knees, a faltering global economy and a terribly distracted central government, u'lld have to have personal issues not to give them some credit. At any other time with a fledgling world economy, Stable polity, high oil prices, perceived strong banks, the economy would have been on some sort of auto-pilot and we'lld all be hailing Sanusi as some genius like we all hailed Soludo. Put your blame in context. |
@Op In a civilised country, Sanusi would ve been fired last week. There is not courageous abt what he's done. It is pure stupidity.
In which "Civilised" country do people get fired for drawing attention to a nagging problem? Jarus:Gani - Perharps, but considering the fact that he never held public office throughout his eventful life, then we really cant tell. Okonjo Iweala - of course she stands Head and shoulder above her peers but whether she qualifies to be called Fearless and a "Best leader"? I definitely dont think so. And I'm sure if u continue listing there will be huge commas on any one you mention. @Topic, I cant really put my finger on it, but I definitely think there's something about the North that has seen them produce the likes of Ribadu and Sanusi. There's some sort of 'Positive Arrogance' that is lacking in their Southern peers. |
^^^ An Actor! |
^^^ Yes of course we wish Ribadu would become president afterall, he's the only Nigerian I can think of that has proven himself. But how? How do we get the change we desire? How do you make a candidate with neither a solid base nor popularity become president in a country as ours? Please be realistic, separate dreams from reality! |
Why shouldnt He have done so? |
@Monkeyleg, what exactly do u mean by 'extra mile'? How far r u proposing that we go to get immediate change? The U.S fought a bloody war with the british, The french had their revolution, the british had the magna carta to thank for their change, the russians had the bolshevik uprising, the Ghanians had Rawlings revolution and so on. So which do u recommend we follow? The ukrainians had their 'orange' and bloodless revolution but u and i know it would be a bloodbath if the same were to happen in Ngr Considering how allergic our security forces are to public disobedience. Of course we want change but what are the potential consequences of the change we seek considering the type of society we live in? Would it really be worth a bloodbath? Are our other choices so terrible that we would instead choose to have change in whatever form? And please when u choose to speak of change, please never cite Obama as an example. This is Nigeria where people would gladly trade their votes for a spoon of salt! |
^^^ Even when the consequence is having an inept and desperately corrupt Atiku as president? |
@Monkeyleg, You speak so much of 'Political Laziness' that you make your naivety all too obvious. We all have dreams for our country and a pair as this no doubt will take the country places, but at what point do you begin to separate dreams from reality? It does not matter what you or I think nor believe because we r in the minority and do not have the resources or power to impose our candidate on the majority, you cannot have a political revolution overnight with the minority, so your theory of Political Laziness is completely out of touch in todays Nigeria. No matter how you look at it, you need a solid platform to be victorious and at the moment, neither Ribadu nor Utomi has got one. |
China would never attack the u.s because of north korea, not when its economy is waxing strong and She's on track to overtake the US as the next superpower. Worse case scenario is; North Korea attacks the South citing the military drills as an excuse, South Korea already at the limit of their patience retaliates( not before all its citizens find themselves bomb shelters), the US gives the South military support with its nuclear submarines at the ready, China and Russia gives North Korea covert support while accusing the US of interference but ultimately glad to watch the US and its allies sucked deep into a war they neither want nor need with their economies already on its knees, and with the world distracted, Iran speeds up its nuclear activities for a possible onslaught on Israel. A world war is in no ones interest right now but a battleground like the Korea's are presenting, might be in the interest of a few. |
Na Atiku talk am! |
ifyalways: ![]() |
Muza:Its so depressing when u hear Nigerians speak so senselessly. Start his own from scratch abi? How many things have u started in your entire life? Nonsense! @Topic, I've always had tremendous respect for Ribadu, his Honesty and Integrity are spotless, perharps if He'd stayed with the PDP he would have had my support and those of countless others but outside it as it stands, he stands no chance. so I'lld rather put my vote where it'lld count. |
@tkb417, lol. Pls ignore her silly argument. Thats what u get when folks that do not understand even the very least abt Ngr try to be expert analysts. Every1 with a clear head understood what u meant with your question. @Kobojunkie, ROFLMAO!!! |
Just shut up or say hi to nairaland if you have nothing to say. You ask people to open their eyes and not see every govt action to be right. The problem is you have opened your eyes too wide that you now see everything wrong in any action by govt. Yes the standards have flagged, but that does not diminish the problem of limited spaces for prospective applicants in our universities. Do you know that part of the measures to address the gaps in the university system will be for the universities to prune their intakes to the actual capacities they were designed for? UI is already doing a lot along this line. If/when universities do this, the gap will be partially addressed by the new ones. You need to close your eyes a bit, i think there are now too wide for your health. rubbish.
Na God go bless U. |
I've been thinking very deeply too. Why dont we throw open our prisons from North to South, East to West and allow all the convicts walk free? I'm sure that after going to jail they deserve a chance to come out and redeem themselves too! Not just that, i'm certain that they'll contribute immensely to our nation afterall what do they have to loose? They are already ex convicts for christ's sake. They deserve another chance Too. Bet your imbecillic brains didnt think that deeply. |
^^ Dont know and dont care. But the point is, IF this turns out to be true, hasnt she served some purpose? Doesnt she deserve to take the credit for what she achieved? If we had someone to 'consult' for us and get those illiterates called Boko Haram to use their brains wont we all be better off? The way the Jtf shamelessly claimed to have been bombarding their camp you'lld be forgiven for thinking they had been hiding in bomb shelters and not the makeshift sheds we've all seen and when you add 19 helpless hostages to the equation, you have to agree that the womans version sounds more real. |
@Bluetooth, what truth dont we deserve to know? If we spend more money on 'Defence' than we spend on education and yet still require the help of 'consultant' to help maintain security within our borders then we ought to start making budgetary allocations to such consultants. afterall how can we justify throwing billions in the name of defence just to have cheap propaganda as the result? The so called kidnappers are not aliens, we ought to be thankful they at least listen to appeals. |
U guys seem to be missing the whole point. If actually the release was as a result of negotiations and not the bombardment claimed by the jtf, then they r guilty of not only misleading the public but also the president who was praising the superior military might and intelligence after the release. The so called rescue mission was even reported in the international media as the first succesful military rescue in Nigeria! Do you know how embarassing it would be for the president to find out the release was done without the firing of a single bullet? Or are the Jtf experimenting with the tool of militants - propaganda - with their commander in chief as their top victim? If this is true its shameful. actually, its a disgrace! |
