Now that day is over,
night is drawing nigh,
shadows of the evening
steal across the sky.

Glory to the Father,
glory to the Son,
and to thee, blest Spirit,
while all ages run. Amen

The grace

I bet you remember this?  cheesy lol
EducationRe: About Your Primary Or Secondary School In Nigeria by WesleyanA(f): 2:20am On Jul 17, 2006
who remembers the SOP (Songs of Praise)/ Oremus hymn book? we used to use that every morning.
God be in my head, and in my understanding
God be in my heart and in my . "something"

Lead us, heavenly Father, lead us
o'er the world's tempestuous sea
guard us, guide us, . .

morning has broken like the first morning. . .

onward christian soldiers. . .

and the play songs:

Bread and butter baskelebe
london bridge is falling down
my mother told me that she would buy me another dolly. . .

who remembers reciting "times table" everymorning. The higher your class, the more you have to know. I remember memorizing the multiplication table up to 20. If you don't know it, force yourself to throw up or feign sick when you teacher gets the "cain" out for you!!
I remember this kid in my class , Jamike, that'll never cry when they use the "cain" on him. We respected him like something else. He was our king.
I remember PE too. Interhouse sports!! I was with the red house till my last year i joined blue house 'cause they were the winning team.
lilnaomi:
Quantitative n verbal reasoning?? i passed those things like it was my father dt set d questions. pen is to paper as shoes are to -------- lol remember?? Lacombe?? Haha

who remembers when your parents will buy u pairs of shoes 2 or even 3 sizes bigger than u so they wnt av 2 buy another one d next year. my mom did dt lots of times lol. she will not put tissue in front 4 me. or on your birthdays when u'll wear mofty (i hope dts d right spellin) 2 school and u carry cabin biscuits, sweets and ice-lolly. during break time, your teacher will now call u out so evry1 can sing happy buffday 2 u. but bone o, when i got 2 primary 5 i upgraded 2 takin jollof rice, crates of drinks and cake 2 school.
I remember all that!!!
and the shoes part too!! I used to get mad but now i realized my feet were growing like crazy then. I used to need new shoes sometimes twice in one school year so my mom got larger sizes and by some magic they'll fit me perfectly in months and i'll need a bigger one.  embarassed

lilnaomi:
when he first sees hot-angel n mer-c then naijacutee (no offence to the rest, its only hot-angel n mer-c's pics av seen so far), he'll start contemplating whether 2 carry on with me. when he now sees the other girls n hot-angel's pics on hi5, he'll now fashi me.

hell no, he will never knw bout this site!!
LMAO!!!  cheesy cheesy cheesy
you're funny but true talk!
CareerRe: Navy Seals Or Marines? by WesleyanA(f): 1:28am On Jul 17, 2006
anton:
You really can't compare the marines to the seals. The seals are an elite unit of the navy whereas the marines are just the ground combat element of the navy. Many marines join the seals, but i don't know about vice versa. Also, many marine units are MEU/SOC which mean marine expeditionary unit/special operations capable.
Now that that's cleared.

what's "Beat Navy" all about? Is it a sports thing? or just some feud?
sorry for all the questions.

I prefer army airborne, even though i know nothing about it, because they do the "cool" jumps.

too bad i didn't watch it. so much for being a soccer fan.
FashionRe: What's Your Opinion Of "Tomboys"? by WesleyanA(f): 10:03pm On Jul 11, 2006
i'm mostly grown out of it.
it's okay to be a tomboy until you're a teen. lol
then i had more male friends than female friends. my best friends were girls though.
I hated girly dresses and found boy games more fun than girly play plus i liked fixing stuff (i still do).
good times those pre-teen years.

It's cool to be yourself. If you don't feel comfortable in mini skirts and tight shirts don't wear them at all times (only when you're going out, you have to dress up or something.)

I heart sweatshirts. they're the best.
HealthRe: How To Gain Weight? by WesleyanA(f): 9:46pm On Jul 11, 2006
Coco29:
why would anyone want to be fat huh shocked
and why would anyone want to look anorexic? huh

no one wants to be fat. just normal, medium weight.

Good job Bhola!! cheesy
I agree w/ you. some people think gaining weight is soooo easy. It depends on the person though.
FamilyRe: Can You Trust Your Best Friend? by WesleyanA(f): 5:44am On Jul 10, 2006
I most definitely trust my best friend!! She's the best person in the world and my role model too actually.
my other best friend. . . I'm her role model cool j/k

there are some people you can't trust though. but those should be acquaintances not friends.

like zufugard said: "they wouldn't be your bestfriend if you couldn't (trust them)"
FoodRe: Any Chocolate Lovers On Nairaland? by WesleyanA(f): 5:29am On Jul 10, 2006
I guess it depends on my mood.
sometimes i get the cravings when i know i don't have access to it.
but sometimes when i have chocolate right in front of me, i don't want it.

I guess it has to do with the PMS and all that 'cause it happens with other foods i like too.

chocolate isn't my fav. food in the world anyways. I prefer strawberry stuff.

Zufugard:
Oh jeebies are you kiddin me? Chocolate is my life foce. So long as there is chocolate, I can go on living! grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin cool
lol. I know someone like that. can't survive without chocolate. grin
BusinessRe: How Do Credit Cards Work? by WesleyanA(f): 5:21am On Jul 10, 2006
i see. thanks!
I'm pretty sure my mom's not been scoring any credit card points then. j/k

diddy4:
paying off fast is good for us but not so good for them.
lol
BusinessRe: How Do Credit Cards Work? by WesleyanA(f): 5:04am On Jul 10, 2006
srry for my ignorance but what's "score"?
They give you points for paying back fast? Does that mean your allowed to borrow larger amounts nxt time? just guessing.
BusinessRe: How Do Credit Cards Work? by WesleyanA(f): 4:56am On Jul 10, 2006
@ diddy4,
"one eye"? oh well. I seriously don't cheat and wouldn't.  undecided
turnitin is for professors only?  huh My High school teacher uses it for us! (it's a college level AP course so i won't oppose your statement).

Debit card is def. the way to go!  grin
You can get a credit card but only use it on necessities. or better still, save your money to get what you want.
I bet you'll get a credit card later on.
BusinessRe: How Do Credit Cards Work? by WesleyanA(f): 4:39am On Jul 10, 2006
Oh Noooo!!! shocked
I'm a good student and won't cheat. embarassed
I use spark notes sometimes (when necessary) but never to cheat or anything like that.
the only time i cheated was when i had to meet a deadline i couldn't make so i re-used an old 9th grade essay (yeah i keep all my school work in case of emergencies).

turnitin sucks because of the 12:00 midnight deadlines that's all. undecided and you can't make innocent faces or give excuses to the computer so i have to suck it up and stay up all night (yeah i procastinate a lot).
Nairaland GeneralRe: Anton: New And Eager To Learn About My Family by WesleyanA(f): 4:18am On Jul 10, 2006
Hey Anton!  smiley
read in your post, somewhere, you were in the army (airborne).
I know the war is bad and all but i just think jumping out of aircrafts and all that's pretty cool.

I only said shame for calling Nigerians lazy (i'm pretty sure he is too). I modified it 'cause he probably might find it offensive.
I knew YOU were going to have probs w/ it 'cause you were saying the same thing in the other thread  cheesy

BusinessRe: How Do Credit Cards Work? by WesleyanA(f): 11:04pm On Jul 09, 2006
damn all these haters!!!!  shocked

this is a forum not AP Euro Hist. class. (whoever made the reference to turnitin.com)  lipsrsealed

If someone need help, there's no sin in pasting info from a site (she forgot to add the link or might not even know she was supposed to) but she didn't say anywhere that she wrote it herself. All you guys needed to do is inform her to cite her source next time
We all agreed her post was VERY informative. now how many people who researched the stuff "themselves" brought up accuate help as hers?
So yes, cutting, pasting and redirecting are good options a lot of times.

And yes I know there are many companies that only give credit to Homeowners alone. I wouldn't even advice a non-home owner to go a credit as HUGE as that except if he/she is a bound to fall hard optimist (no pun intended).  tongue
FashionRe: Nigerian Models: Post Your Pictures Here by WesleyanA(f): 10:39pm On Jul 09, 2006

But it does happen in amerikkka every day. Not religious, more economic. Mostly unemployed young men. Just looking for an excuse to lash out at what they hate the most: everything that looks like them, What 7,000 a year i think it is now.
That's sad. sad
I'm not pro anti-gun laws but sometimes they get into the wrong hands for some reason. undecided
FashionRe: Nigerian Models: Post Your Pictures Here by WesleyanA(f): 10:27pm On Jul 09, 2006
i don't see no hair either huh
you look pretty omoge. nice pic.

don't listen to Old Glory tongue. I use extensions too. If you leave your hair out all the time it'll get damaged fast unless your ready to worry about your hair all day.
CareerRe: Should I Return To The UK To Work? (I Have HSMP Visa) by WesleyanA(f): 10:02pm On Jul 09, 2006
He might even be nowhere close to loaded. The empty barrel makes the loudest noice. haha
but i can believe he's 21. maybe that's why he's acting immature?

@Weslyan

Your E-mail address seems to be incorrect
It seems to be incorrect because everything's underlined so the underscore isn't visible on my profile. lol (les_etolies90 @ yahoo . com)
LiteratureRe: Which Books/Novels Are You Currently Reading? by WesleyanA(f): 1:50am On Jul 09, 2006
ooops. . .no wonder i couldn't find it. embarassedi looked it up under the wrong author. oh well. Everyone's read that book for some reason

If you give me i'll take it. . .but there's no guarantee i'll get to your house. i'll probly call him by phone or something. tongue

Just don't let his family know you did it (sent him downstairs). keep it secret. between us and the book.

LiteratureRe: Which Books/Novels Are You Currently Reading? by WesleyanA(f): 1:21am On Jul 09, 2006

CareerRe: Should I Return To The UK To Work? (I Have HSMP Visa) by WesleyanA(f): 1:16am On Jul 09, 2006
Jackal:
@ WesleyanA,
Why don't u go on the net to find out the number of years it takes to get a Bachelor's degree in the UK?
Get your facts right before accusing someone of twisting his facts.
I was joking jeez. (j/k = joking)
that's pretty fast if you ask me. over here it's four years is why i asked (it's faster in Nigeria too for some reason. . i guess we get to learn more cheesy j/k)

Is nursing the only profession available in the UK to Nigerians?
Why can't Nigerians in diaspora involve themselves in mentally-tasking jobs like IT and Engineering to better their lives.
Why must it be nursing and cleaning for Nigerian lads in the UK?
i mentioned engeenering in my post but there's a limit to what you can do (if your only going to take a course that is)
and IT isn't the only mentally-tasking job. Certain personality types do better at the job than others.
I'll say Nigerians usually have the people person personality and isn't IT sitting at a computer and fixing stuff/building stuff (i apologize for my ignorance)  lipsrsealed.
Nursing doesn't take too much stress, easier to get through and rewarding (at least doing a job your actually satisfied w/)
The higher the complexity, the higher the education required so people who do have their edu. do the professional type jobs usually.

Nigerians in diaspora will continue to complain about hardships in the Uk until they take the bull by its horn and go for broke.
I don't settle for less and i always aim for the top.
Maybe i was born to be different or born to make a difference but i believe sky's the limit for any Nigerian willing to push himself to the top of the echelon.
There you go again comparing yourself to the "Nigerians in diaspora" complaining about hardships
You should instead compare yourself to your mates who came here as toddlers. Life's easy for your kind, simple and short.
It's the parents who brought us here that have to do all the hard work and know what the hardships feel like (ask your mom and dad if they're IT managers (what's the terminology huh).

You definitely shouldn't settle for less but i guess some people just have no choice. esp if you don't have papers or if your too old to restart high school and college in "diaspora" lol

oh well. I don't even know what the original post is about (HSMP visa  huh). I should stop.
HealthRe: Nigerians Can't Donate Blood In The US? by WesleyanA(f): 12:42am On Jul 09, 2006
That's really sad.

how old do you have to be to donate blood? because i was thinking of doing it next year when I turn 17 'cause I heard colleges look at it. I guess i can't anymore then oh well.  undecided

too bad for them. . 'cause Nigerian blood's the best!  not even joking. :sighs:
