We condemn in the strongest terms these criminal, cowardly attacks, wherever they might occur as an attack on all decent, democratic and peaceful people. Every terrorist attack only strengthens Nigeria’s resolve to stand shoulder to shoulder with Turkey and other countries in the frontline of the war on terror. Yeah, our dear Bubu is quick at condemning terror attacks once they happen outside our shores. Meanwhile, other countries have gotten tired of commiserating with Nigeria. And why won't they? Our government in most cases hardly condemn terror attacks within our own soil, much less trying to get the attackers. Especially if they happen to be his rampaging kinsmen. |
#Yawns# Who cares? ![]() Everyone's got their own wahala to deal with. Last day of June. With so many deaths already, it'll just be another statistic, another passing sensation. And after 24hrs, it's back to business as usual...on to the next one. No one but family and relatives to mourn you. BTW, anyone serious about killing doesn't broadcast it first. Awon alariwo oshi. |
@Obiobi8 : The Nigerian issue defies every rational or logical reasoning. I am yet to see such a group who know they are headed for perpetual slavery and lifelong misery, yet are not eager to do anything about it...such as the people called Nigerians. Everyone of us know our system is not working, AND CAN NEVER WORK! Except there is absolute overhaul of the present system of government we practice. No matter the good intention of any regime in power, whatever progress we record at present is a mere drop in the ocean compared with what would have been obtainable if the competitive spirit of every region is unleashed and they in turn, contribute their quota. Everyone keeps waiting for monthly allocation which, thank God, is now becoming elusive. Many so called states which ought to be independent entities are just mere parasites on the resources of a few struggling ones. |
Haliah:Good to see you have a sense of humor. Sorry about the misfortune. Take it easy, ok? It's a jungle out there. |
400billionman: ![]() I'm pretty certain if you ask him his account details and PIN here, he will release it. Such a smart fellow he is! |
Tolexander:That's a typical black man with a little power. He got so drunk with it, he bit more than he can chew. Imagine using messed up policemen to terrorize his kinsmen, just because he got a little cash. That's one death i'm actually glad to read about in a long while. |
princefunmmy:Thanks for making it easy to understand you probably didn't read a full paragraph from the post. See it below: Chibuzoc:Okorocha's ridiculous statement that it took a hundred men and women to subdue the poor woman before she was killed, is that meant to console the grieving man? No one needs to die for the unity of this country, because it is next to impossible. We are more divided than ever. Never listen to these demons in the guise of politicians. They are the problem. If anyone's death could unify this country, then we should be more united now after the death of millions of people during the civil war. Boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen kill thousands every year, yet this man feels it will need the death of one more helpless woman to make us embrace each other. What sort of unity are they even talking about, when even the presidency referred to the victim as "an igbo woman" while addressing the incident. She wasn't called a "Nigerian". Even Okorocha will bite to death anyone who suggests to him to sacrifice a member of his family for Nigeria's unity. |
And she got tied up like a goat in that last picture! Medicine after death. Since the community are aware of her carefree nature towards her kids, she ought to have been reported to children welfare officials. They could have taken custody of those kids. Pity. I forgot this was naija. The mother herself is still a child. No mention in the report about her husband. Not sure he would have left her to her own devices if he were responsible too. |
youngest85: ![]() Bros, she's a respectable mother and wife nah. |
gunuvi:A nation that hopes to attain future greatness will build on its past, will learn from the mistakes of its history. Unfortunately, that nation is not Nigeria. And, to lend credence to this claim, the FG scrapped History Education from secondary schools' curriculum. What does that tell you? Historical events like this were expunged, instead of bringing it into limelight. Its partly the reason why uninformed people with access to the internet will come to NL and display such disgusting ignorance, you won't believe they were equipped with functioning brains from birth. It's more unfortunate when you realize that such uninformed people are the ones who will assume leadership positions in the near future....a so called nation keeps floundering and keeps digging its own grave. Should we still be wondering why we are this way? |
Another candidate ripe for scamming. That's how your desperation will push you into the eager arms of folks who will extort your last penny from you, in the guise of deliverance. After you've been to several prayer houses, you've prayed and fasted, and you still believe your problem is spiritual? What you need to do is to work on yourself. What qualities or qualifications do you possess that will improve your chances in the labor market? There are millions out there in same predicament as you. Better still, learn a trade, acquire new skills. Start a small business. You can't keep repeating what you've been doing and expect a different result. We in this part of the world are quick to believe every or most problem is spiritual....the reason why most so called MOG are smiling to the banks and living large. |
I'm not impressed. Bogus piece of thrash. The lecturer who set the questions have very little to offer himself. Just had to cover his archaic political leanings with bogus sounding words. |
Forget her. That's my honest, and straight from the heart piece of wisdom for you! Once there are trust issues before marriage, believe me, there's little chance of any improvement once you tie the knot. If she feels smart by getting away with two timing, she is bound to sharpen her skills after wedlock. Few people (both male and female) change after marriage. Keyword: Few Since there's no way to find out if she's among the minor few, best thing is to walk away right now, than live with a much bigger regret later. |
umehmj:You almost got me confused. I believe you meant debited. Do you know the name of that branch manager? Add his name. Let's call him out, to hear his take on this issue. They won't take an average joe seriously until sufficient hue and cry is raised in the media. There's one person here who commented that how much money was involved that made this lady take it up this way.... ![]() Well, it's usually poor people who reasons that way. She probably didn't mention the amount involved because of folks like that. It doesn't matter how much the money was. Getting cheated hurts. It's the principle and injustice behind it that is so offensive. |
Last two pics looked like he was being prayed for...or perhaps he was getting exorcised from his demons. Jungle justice won't stop anytime soon because many people have lost their faith in the law enforcement agents. |
mikolo80:It is convenient to make such excuses. Read that article again. Once you realize that those farmers mentioned are very poor rural folks too, you might begin to change your outlook. There's always a solution if you are determined. |
Pavore9: Definitely, it's no rocket science, but I honestly don't see the government in those states taking the initiative. Awoof monthly allocation from oil has crippled any sort of creative thoughts or actions they could have come up with.Just take a look at the present crop of governors around. They can't locate their own ass with a flashlight and a magnifying lens. Truth is, Nigeria had no reason for abandoning other sectors just because crude oil was discovered. Even right now that the international oil market is in recession, what they do is hope and pray that it will pick up once more. No active plans to diversify. |
Oh, Africa.....the lost, dark continent where evil is rewarded and uprightness gets gang banged. Look no further to search for the reasons why we are still this backward. |
lacord5:Bro, you still don't get it. What we have in Nigeria is not a country! It's just a geographical entity where people from divers tribe are cohabiting...forced cohabitation at that. If anyone think there is ever a time this so called country will unite and realize her full potential, such a person is living a fool's paradise. |
I don't get this. The police shot and killed one man (the engineer) working for the militants, and in retaliation, the militants stormed the community where the man was shot, and killed about 15 people? What is their grouse with the community? Why couldn't they attack the police that killed one of them instead? They had to take out their anger and frustration on the helpless villagers? Or, am I missing something? This country tire me o! |
Kennycyphers:Congratulations, bro. |
So PDP can now give us lessons on how the presidency should make his health status known to all of us? Same way they handled late president Yar Adua, right? such that even after he died, they wouldn't still open up. Perfect example of what goes around coming around. |
That is what this so called country has been reduced to. Fulani herdsmen kill with impunity. They are now above the law, simply because Buhari is now the president? For those of you who kept clamoring for one Nigeria, who don't see anything wrong with the system of government that is in practice, who feels that the killing and destruction is far away and will never get to them, well, your time will definitely come. Imagine that this were your people. Your kindred. Your relatives. Your family...getting slaughtered by roving herdsmen, and your president who controls the security forces turns a blind eye. Because he is the grand patron of the herdsmen. Because he is Fulani, he is in the cattle business too, and the herdsmen are mostly Fulani. These are private cattle businesses, yet the president is trying to use his office to appropriate communal lands to be made into grazing reserves. These killings are condoned by him, just so the people will accept the idea that grazing reserves will bring the killings to an end. That is totally flawed. It will in fact mark the beginning of the end. the earlier the entire southern half of the country realize they should present a united front and demand for self actualization/implementation of the 2014 confab report, the better chances we have at surviving the north's agenda at subjugating the rest of us. The writing on the wall is so glaring. If we keep waiting for the politicians to make a move, we are wasting time, because they are all feeding fat on this flawed Nigeria project. |
SureRides4u: ![]() The hunger is real o. Either he discovers his talent and let it help put food on the table, else the next thing is to become a criminal. With the economic crunch naija is headed for, we are bound to see every sort of "mumu work" on the streets. |
What if.... What if this notice was placed there recently, aftermath of the buzz generated online over the allegation that locals were not allowed in? What if locals have always been welcomed there, but the security guard said otherwise, because he'd been tongue lashed over the robbery incident, and wasn't in the mood to be civil with the guy who asked? many what ifs, but this two will do for now. There are always different sides to a story. Blogs and social media have become outlets for unverified, and even outright malicious information. We got lots of people who haven't had a half decent education feeding crap to the public who eagerly lap it up. |
Cool. Honestly, I was hoping it was a solar power project. With a diesel powered generator set, the issue of maintenance is bound to creep up. Add that to irregular and costly supply of diesel, sabotage of the set in a public market at nights etc. Let's hope this gets proper attention and can serve the community market for a few years before neglect and sabotage could end the gesture. |
Almost like fatal crashes must be recorded every week. Poor driving ethics, poorly maintained vehicles. Add bad roads to the mix. Where the roads are smooth and wide, crazy drivers exceed reasonable speed limits. Such avoidable deaths are the most frustrating. |
Charlatans. Now that Keshi is no longer around, how do we verify his claims? Perhaps we should begin an ultimate search for the letter he claims to have written to Keshi? Soon, more of them will creep out of the woodwork to say they foresaw Amodu Shuaibu's death and sent him an email over it. |
Ordinarily, with these leads you have, the police should be able to begin an investigation. But you didn't factor the most important (and not so obvious) point. Which is: We do NOT have a functioning state/country/government/institution. If you are unlucky enough to get involved with the police, you would have long realized this. That little institution charged with the safety and security of ordinary citizens like you and I is a representation of what Nigeria has become: rotten inside and out. It gives criminals the confidence to keep operating. They crooks might even be in cahoots with cops who are stationed along the routes where they operate. The cops get their own cuts from the proceeds, and business continues as usual. Any victim who gets killed in the process is mere collateral damage. No one but your family and circle of friends cares. Nigeria doesn't take care of it's own. Not anymore. You should take your own safety measures. For starters, don't drive around at night when you absolutely don't need to. You have already realized that bridge as a flash point. Avoid that spot. Use alternate routes. Be vigilant at all times. At home, on the road, EVERYWHERE! Don't become a part of the statistics. Naija is gradually regressing to medieval times described by Hobbes, where there's only survival of the fittest, and where life is "short and brutish" |
The anger in Naija is so pervasive. Everyone is on a short fuse. So many unnecessary and avoidable deaths. |
I'm all for this move. Farming is not insanity. Rearing pigs within residential neighbourhoods is unwholesome. |
CountDracula:I wish your neighbor is a pig farmer. I bet you wouldn't maintain this stand. Get what the order is about: pig farmers within residential areas. If its within a farming settlement (of which there are still few within Lagos) I don't think this applies to such. |
