Yes until we hear someone who can confirm that a gun was held to his head to part with his hard earned cash for the sake of a university project

EducationRe: Nigerian Tertiary Institutions And Hand-outs by WhyAWhy(m): 7:23pm On Nov 11, 2013
boay: Good. You have admitted that I successfully refute your first claim. The drawing sheets are being stamped so that student wont bring in 'already made' constructions into the class which are not their handiwork.

Remember the drawing sheets are for a technical drawing course and students can give another sheet to colleagues in architecture thereby bringing in'already made' construction. I guess you understand. I am a student in EDM and I know what students used to do when it comes to technical drawing courses.

I guess you understand
Your head is correct..100%

lillies: Op relax, Great Ife we too dey make mouth. Ask guys in tech. You MUST by cve 401 handout, no story about it! Even che 411 is stil waiting for u. What about all 'white house' practical courses? Dont you buy your graphs and report note from white house lecturers? What about technical drawing? Where and who sold the drawing sheets to you? It all came from spider house, so stop acting like buls-hit dont happen in oau. Its everywhere bro.
What is this one saying??!!! If I didn't do any of the courses I would have believed you . Do you even know what it means to "sell Handout". Even if you had to buy laboratory report book those are standard requirements . Even medical students had to buy stethoscope but then it's not forced on them by any lecturer neither is it a requirement to pass

Wow! Are you for realhuh!!! Do I need to be a farmer to know if fried rice tastes nice or not?!?!? Mehn you're on a long thing. Do you think Clients have any artistic background to judge whether what you have given to them is good or nothuh?!

lol.. don't flatter yourself. You're definitely daydreaming. There are many much more talented people singing and playing keyboard in church for free. No one will pay anyone $150 per few hours (services approx 2.5 hours). Hin be Beethoven?!

pippen213: Ayefele is making matters worst for himself. The American embassy would make it difficult for who ever is going with him next time to get d visa. Why him stingy like this? Him no want make them get a good life? How much him dey pay them sef wey he no go bone matter. He is not d first and wld not be d last to have lost staff in foreign land. Make he rest joor. PhonesRe: What Do People Say About Your TECNO Phone? by WhyAWhy(m): 10:20am On Sep 28, 2013
igbeke: if u cud afford a "bigger fone", say Sammy S4 for like N90k; den what will u be doing in a public bus?
dont u see it as a misplaced priority?
Another worwor mentality . Even in uk the poor and the rich take the tube and bus all the time. No be to get from one place to another
PhonesRe: What Do People Say About Your TECNO Phone? by WhyAWhy(m): 10:18am On Sep 28, 2013
Red_Card: finally, someone said the truth. Even me that is using Nokia Lumia 520 of 28k gets more respect than my friend that uses Tecno Phantom A... Tecno surely disgraces people. I can't buy a Tecno phone for any reason. I will soon port from Nokia Lumia to any moderately priced Samsung Galaxy.
Take that respect to the bank in exchange for cash.

Yes. It's all subject to probability. But there's a higher probability that all the children are AA or AS
EducationRe: Redeemer’s University Produces 20 First Class by WhyAWhy(m): 4:00pm On Sep 26, 2013
Jakeattah: All these private uni's and their numerous first class graduates...... I hail o
You think say na moinmoin to make first class anywhere? Go and make it if it's that easy.. (btw: I graduated from OAU)
EducationRe: Redeemer’s University Produces 20 First Class by WhyAWhy(m): 3:30pm On Sep 26, 2013
dallyemmy: Why do you think Nigerians come out with fantastic results in foreign universities? We have brains in this country! Federal universities are now good in frustrating students. It is quite unfortunate!
Pure bollocks, if you know how much you're paying for tuition abroad, you will be forced to seat tight. I have seen people come to uk from naija and couldn't even finish masters, they got diploma instead because they assumed it was bread and butter. It is even tougher here because the facilities are available. I studied in both OAU ( as a representative picture of federal universities) and one of the leading universities in UK and I can compare both very well.
EducationRe: Redeemer’s University Produces 20 First Class by WhyAWhy(m): 3:27pm On Sep 26, 2013
Chukwutobi: wat of a student dat finished wit a 2.1 as a result of his final yr results only?
Then I will tell you about a student that finished with a first class in OAU, economics department having never had upto 4.5 in any of his previous years of study. His final grades in the last year in school moved him to exactly 4.5. Do you think lecturers have the time to seat down and begin slashing your results one by one based on their projection that you will or will not have a first class?
EducationRe: Redeemer’s University Produces 20 First Class by WhyAWhy(m): 2:25pm On Sep 26, 2013
Donmichaelz: Congratulations....in my school(govt uni) my department mech eng has never produced 1st class nt because we can't but because the lecturers will never give u,I graduated with 4.3,just to frustrate my Gp I was told to construct and finance a street light all by my self and when I was through I was given a (C)credit..
If I was in Reedemers, only God can stop my first class

The grorified secondary school is better than the Overated fed uni.........if I had d opportunity I would av gone to a private Uni for Sure,,,
You have ALLL it takes to make a first class in that department. You have more than 3 years to achieve this. There are so many courses you took outside your department which are enough to boost your G.P assuming ALL your lecturers were witch hunting you.

Really I don't understand what the hate is all about when it comes to private universities. I schooled in OAU and even at that I will not look down on someone making first class from Private universities. For all I care, I have met people from most schools in Nigeria and apart from the depth of emotional maturity and spatial awareness, students of private universities are NOT dumb/dunce. People leave nigeria with the same attitude also thinking that with their 3rd class or 2:2 they will simply make a first abroad. To start with when people get abroad they just worker harder because of the millions at stake as tuition so automatically, they will put in more effort which translates into better results.

In my opinion, students of federal universities don't pay much in school fees and so there's a tendency to be more laid back. I know many of my friends that left federal university (OAU) to private ones because of the incessant strike. If you think because you made 3rd class in fed. uni, you will make a first in private university, you're on a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNG thing.
RomanceRe: The Curse Of The " Ex" by WhyAWhy(m): 9:19pm On Sep 04, 2013
poshdiva: Its the curse of the ex. I remember telling my ex the same thing. He would be finalizing his divorce this year after 9 months of marriage.

Be careful how you treat people and learn to take some words seriously.
don't flatter yourself. He would probably have divorced if he were with you too
FamilyRe: Should Married Individuals Keep In Touch With Exes? by WhyAWhy(m): 9:02pm On Sep 04, 2013
adconline: Great advice for emotional wrecks who lack interpersonal skills. Marriage is not the end of life, there are still networks, alliances and friendships to be built and relied on. BTW, if you married all ur exes, by now, you would have had like 6-10 partners.
The only person that made sense! I don't understand why people can't look beyond the emotional side of things. Life is like a ladder, the same people you meet on your way up are still the same you will meet on your way down, so treat everyone well. Your exes might just be your passport to "that better life" you crave. Don't discard anyone. "Exes" are humans and....sorry you need human beings to survive. At least someone knows someone that knows someone....

My excesses(3 exes ago wink ) who's now a baby mama provided some very useful contacts recently. Another helped me to deal with a situation also recently and vice versa. Put protections in place. No need for cosy calls, frequent texts or dine outs..etc but keep the contact!

Knowledge is power ooo! Grab the Masters with both hands, more so in America, Gods own country! The IT firm you work for here won't really know your value like when you are in Silicon valley, I don't think you should be asking this uestion in the first place.
Abeg forget that thing joor. If he's that good for silicon valley, he won't need a masters before he is known beyond the shores of nigeria. The guys that are employed by google through the code jam never even finish university.

UNIXLover: Hello Guys...Ok,I currently work for an IT consulting firm as an Application Development/Support.I have a total of 3 years working experience in IT and some Certifications. Now,I have always wanted to do my Masters in the Us and i have been taking some steps as regards that in the last few months.I will be writing the GRE exams in few weeks.would you guys advise i quit this Job for Msc? what are the chances of getting a job in the Us? I currently earn more than 200k In Nigeria. But anything that makes me forfeit this Msc Plans now means i will be focusing on Marriage plans Next(But i really wish i have my Msc in the Us ).

Will it be a worthwhile Move?
I am currently Looking at Msc In Information Systems/Technology.
Also,If i will be getting funding from schools(Or GA)will you guys still advise i Move?

Contributions are highly appreciated.
To start with looks like you've made up your mind to go to the US for masters and you're only here for more motivation. Will your current career path be enhanced by an M.Sc? Why exactly do you need an M.Sc or a foreign M.Sc at that. Are you doing it because it "looks" cool and everyone you know is going after a foreign masters? Sincerely answer these questions.

Next...

Register for GRE and score extremely high (you need more than a few weeks of preparation to attain this). This will make your application attractive for funding purposes. Make sure you apply to the top schools in US for the M.Sc you desire. These few steps will transit you from m.sc to a good job sooner or later. Good luck

I guess a lot of you have not had any encounter with the Nigerian police or soldier. If the OP were dead by now the only thing that would make the news is that the soldier was trying to apprehend a suspected armed robber. Don't you guys listen to the news huh!!! Haven't you heard of innocent guys shot over their refusal to buy stick of cigarette or big stout for men of the uniform?

It is pathetic that nigeria is still in this state

Ipheyemmy01: This is where Nigeria govt have to quickly patent this b4 all those oyinbo will come and still the man idea.
Or he stole the idea behind an already existing vehicle. It would have made sense if he actually demonstrated his claims. I think we should stop celebrating "he tried". Ideas should be seen to completion, all we have in nigeria is "I have this idea, no one to fund it" abegi who no get idea?
TravelRe: Many Nigerians Living In Nigeria Hate Nigerians In Diaspora, Jealous Much? by WhyAWhy(m): 1:53pm On Aug 26, 2013
coogar: why won't we be jealous of you?
huh? you people travel and then leave the rest of us back here in nigeria to battle mosquitoes and the menace of armed robbers.....what are you nigerians in diaspora doing to the plight of your fellow nigerians in nigeria? nothing, absolutely nothing....

this year alone, i have written 53 mails to you alone to help me secure an admission letter from schools in melbourne, adelaide or canberra...did you listen? i have every right to be bitter because to be perfectly honest, you nigerians in diaspora are too attitudinal. you guys should learn to be your brother's keeper.

mrs jennykadry, until you pull strings to get me out of nigeria, i would continue to haunt you on this forum. if i don't see any invitation letter/admission letter by the end of the year, i would start haunting you in your dreams. apple tastes better than walnut. this is your last warning, jenny - get me out of this country. grin
Are you being serious about "admission issue"? What stops you from making online application yourself . It amazes me the way people think that people abroad can "hussle" admission for you that are in nigeria. The same way you will apply yourself is the exact route the person will go through in an online application . You are better off doing so yourself oh. I remember a couple of friends beefing me because of admission related issue. Who told you anyone can give you admission?

Bismarck10: I am an ABU student(not from his department anyway). This man won the VC election 2 years back and he was denied. The emir never knew God has something grand in store for him. This is a lesson for those who discriminate on the ground of anything.
The office of a VC is highly political and the administrative demands requires so much to run it well. A genius in the lab may not necessarily perform well in that office which demands alot more. It's almost synonymous to clamouring for wole Soyinka in regard to the office of the governor or president
EducationRe: Saburi Graduates After 14 Years In OAU by WhyAWhy(m): 2:32am On Aug 24, 2013
People like saburi et al are the very silly people that wasted our productive years to being tied to unfruitful academic disruptions tagged "aluta". Looking back at my years in OAU I find it all pointless. Infact all this silly unionism needs to be clipped same for ASUU bullcrap. I see the way things run in the west and I weep for the ignorance in our system. Jobless students forming protests everywhere. 14years of his life was entirely his fault. As far as I am concerned all those stupid SUG guys never fought for my sake or anyone for that matter

sanniemoe: U need influence to participate in shows like this. I'm a clothier and I know what I'm saying. I know how these things works in the fashion industry cos I'm a clothier too. U gotta have a strong backbone to perform in shows like this plus at fourteen years, where she go get money from? u think say na cowrie dem dey take buy materials, who go pay her tailors(dont gimme that crap she sewed it herself),who will pay the models, makeup artists, the photographers, the stylists, etc she's got wealthy parents or someone behind with very strong connects.. I stand firm on that..
I never disputed any of your claims as regards the tailoring, models, etc. I have alot of young friends in college here in uk who have gone to france to present fabric work, i think they study textile or so in school,( not quite sure). Most of them have support from their school or a charity or many other means not easily accessible in Nigeria. They encourage budding talents alot on this side of the globe. And YES... based on what I've seen young people (teenagers) do here in uk, she probably sew it herself

sanniemoe: I don't believe the story for so many reasons but even if na true, the girl get strong backbone.. As in,the parents hold bar pieces & they well connected cos to appear for shows like this means a lot and politics go dey involve. Anyways, congrats to her
When you grow up/live/ work outside nigeria/africa, you require little influence to progress in life. The society offers equal opportunity everywhere. It's no longer a function of man knows man but man has "this and that" to offer.

IAMBREEZY: op if i want to buy anything on-line i don't pay until i see that goods first,it happened to me couple of yrs ago and i regreted,i almost lost up to 400k,this online shopping site ain't sincere...
Abeg, park well joor and do your home work properly. Since you said "a couple of years ago" I take it that you don't mean a Nigerian shop because those ones recently launched. I order things online ALL the time. Never for once have i lost money or have missing goods. If the item can't be delivered, the online shops would usually refund. Before you make an order, check that the site is secure,(look at the address bar). Then read online reviews thoroughly.
