Wow wow, the information given here is way more than I expected. Definitely I have loads of things to learn and unlearn. Naturally I was going to get a CMS and extend it but thanks for educating about the long term perspective and defining the line between a website and a webapplication. I will be back again..

Jokes EtcRe: Why The Nigerian Education System Better Than The Uk - Read For Evidence by WhyAWhy(m): 3:17pm On Mar 01, 2012
blank:
Abeg shut up about UK standards. It is the private schools that are good. Most of their primary and secondary schools are rubbish. My classmate joined us in JS 1 and did not know anything not even 12 times table. She was always struggling in school but after several extra classes and so on she was able to catch up as she is quite intelligent. Her sister was not so lucky and had to repeat a class.

Go to UK and tell me if they can even spell. They are so behind when you compare at primary and secondary school. It is when you get to university that they shine more. Why don't they go to university so much? It is cause they are not able to cope. Nigerians go to their universities and outshine them.

Those who have foreign masters should tell the house how many of their English classmates came out with distinction. That is why they keep looking for foreign students.
^^ em Aunty,  I did Masters in UK and despite the fact that the top of the class for most courses were Africans/Nigerians (obviously if you're paying that much to study, you gat to shine mehn, no be everyone go pass sha),  there are still britons that had the best results on their course and some are now on Ph.D  with full funding while others are in very decent career. The good ones are good and the "I can't be bothered " ones are also there

coogar:
this is why i am an advocate of sex before marriage. . . .

and this should serve as a lesson to all those celibates who think they are on the right track. . . .how can?
people should task their brain and realize the people left in the world today have been careless with their health issues and erectile dysfunction and infertility are on the rise.

men(in their bid to be metrosexual) take loads of pills from weight reduction pills to 6-pac pills. the alcohol intake in the youths today has also increased to what youths used to take many moons ago. junk foods, fitness issues, etc - all these things have side effects which may or might not cause all sorts of dysfunction. not every man walking on the streets is active. impotency rate is on the rise - women should shine their eyes and not fall for men who cannot get it up. if a man readily agrees with you on the sex before marriage in this day and age - a woman should run and never look back. . .

same applies to the women - many of them have ruptured their tubes and are looking for gullible men to hitch them up.
it's only after several years of trying for babies in marriage that the secret would be revealed and then what? i don't pity the original poster one jot.
let her spirituality and years of celibacy wake up her husband's phallus.
you've made your bed, now you must lie on it. . . . .
Your post makes half sense

Let's say a woman needs to be convinced that a man can get it up - Route, Be Intimate and check - GOOD

What about the man, to confirm that the woman is capable of bearing children nko? -

Bottomline, I am an advocate of NO SEX before marriage but I will strip unclad for my g.f/fiancee to know that I can indeed get it up!
I would check her also to know that she aint keeping some Joystick down dea lol

^^^ Common sense, private universities are not plagued by many of the things that characterise federal/state universities.

I have many, more than 10 that left OAU when we were in second year and like 5/6 went to private universities,, the others went abroad, They graduated 3 years ahead of me and are infact doing extremely well in their various career. deal with it! You don't need to be good to enter federal university, we all know the highly corrupt route of jamb et al.
Christianity EtcRe: self-service Controversy: Pastors Blast Oyakhilome by WhyAWhy(m): 1:44pm On Feb 28, 2012
betabeta:
"'When a man has an emission of Fluid, he must bathe his whole body with water, and he will be unclean till evening. Any clothing or leather that has Fluid on it must be washed with water, and it will be unclean till evening. When a man lies with a woman and there is an emission of Fluid, both must bathe with water, and they will be unclean till evening. (Lev 15:16-18)

Notice verse 18 deals with seminal emission during intimate intercourse, but verse 16 is speaking of a seminal emission that does not occur as a result of intercourse. If this is indeed a reference to self-service, the matter-of-fact way in which God deals with this matter certainly indicates that no feelings of shame should be attached to it. He simply said, "Go take a bath."

It seems to me that if God were really bothered by such a practice, then He missed a teachable moment here in this passage. Since He clearly condemns intimate intercourse between men in Leviticus 18:22 and says "that is detestable", I think that if He had really wanted us to avoid this particular practice, He would at least have said something like "That is disgusting" instead of "Go take a bath."

self-service has been around for a long time, and since God does not clearly condemn it, I would not be too bothered with it either. self-service is practice far more than adultery or fornication yet God is practically silent on the issue. This ought to tell you that God is not overly concern with it.

However, let me caution you against addiction to self-service. Just like most things, self-service can turn into an addiction. If you find yourself constantly—several times a day—self-servicing then you can be reasonably sure that you have a intimate addiction. Paul said, "'Everything is permissible for me'—but I will not be mastered by anything" (1 Cor 6:12). This includes self-service. Also, you should never use Indecency to self-service, and if you are married, keep your thoughts on your wife. It is the same sin to make love to your wife while thinking about another woman as it is to self-service while thinking about another woman. Concerning single people, I have no advice other than a prohibition to Indecency.

If a believer uses self-service to alleviate intimate temptation that's far better than actually being tempted to commit fornication or adultery. I would rather have a man self-service than go to a LovePeddler.

Another thought, if self-service is sinful, then you would expect there to be bad health consequences to it, such as found in adultery, homosexuality, and fornication (diseases for one thing). Instead, research has found that self-service serves to release intimate tension. If a man is prevented from having intimate release, then the seminal fluids can back up, causing increased intimate tension and physical discomfort. It also increases the risk of prostate inflammation. This might explain why priests who practice celibacy and who view self-service as sinful have a higher rate of prostate cancer.

Since there are proven medical benefits to self-service, it is difficult to make a biblical and reasonable case against it.

Guy, no one is hating, its only that your best is not always enough and there is no waiver in most cases especially in OAU, something that you could have been penalised for in OAU could be waived in CU. I graduated with 3rd class (2.33) and today i'm proud about how i've efficiently managed my life afterward. I'm a proud owner of a Farm with more than 7000 birds, i realized more than 2000 pieces of eggs daily.

You sound  like one terribly bitter person who is looking out for an opportunity to spite everyone that did better than you in University!!!

I don't know when people will realise that every stage in life is unique and it is always an opportunity for you to START-OVER!

REJOICE with THOSE that REJOICE!

If you didn't make a first class in University, is that the END of LIFE?!!! Do you have to spite those who did. Did they hold you from doing so? (, and to imagine that it is graduates that are talking like this)

Who says your life is not worth something?!!!

There were days of primary school, secondary school etc up till university and different people who were our classmates were the stars of those stages some of us inclusive, what does that tell you about LIFE?!!!

I graduated from OAU myself and I don't spite anyone from other universities. Even if you study rice and beans in Uni, it's no child's play

Just pray that when your time to shine come irrespective of your class of grade, your seat will not be found vacant.

i didnt know Tope was eventually able to beat Deji. Tope was my mate(entered 2001) but, ours being a 4-year course, we finished a year ahead of him.

Tope used to stay in Awo Block 7, ground floor when I was staying in middle floor. I used to hear about him from Tech guys. He was said to be Deji's friend and mate at Suleja Academy(1999 set) and we learnt he was the best student in their set and Deji was 4th(and the other 2 guys in-between them also came to Ife, but travelled abroad before the end of year 1). But JAMB shocked Tope once and he found himself in Yabatech(where he also shattered record with highest ND CGPA ever at the end of his ND programme). on second attempt at JAMB, he got admission into Ife, now a year junior to Deji.

We used to hear then that whatever Deji scored in any case, Tope, who will be writing the course, will set a target for himself to score higher when he wrote the course the next session. Deji broke school record in 2006, and that was when I left, never knew Tope was able to surpass him the following.

omho, Ife na bad school o. if you think you sabi book, u go meet people wey turn you ordinary. my childhood friend(same primary and secondary schools) who was best wassce student in Kwara state in 2000 had the misfortune of being in same class with Deji in Ife. my friend tried all he could to beat Deji, but iwe pass iwe. my friend, a genius in his own right now with Phd from Arkansas and works for Shell US, was only able to settlke for second behind Deji, with gap as wide as 0.2.

loma on this thread is another of those guys. dem sabi for Ife.
I dont know how people make up stories and opinions like the bolded part. The details in this response makes me feel you are stalking this guys. I know them but what the hell bout details!

I think Deji Akere(Chem Engr, 2006) holds the record of all-time highest CGPA. He finished with 4.94.

He went to Cambridge for his masters shortly after.
the present record of all-time highest CGPA is from Tope Ajetunmobi, He finished with 4.96 (Chem Engr, 2007). He went to Imperial College London for his masters

Remember I never said "hope", My point is we are all individually responsible for what happens to us at some stages in life. If you leave your life to "chance" you don enter one chance be that oh.

Secondary Education: Some people had "no option" and so had to be in public schools

Tertiary Education: Some people left federal universities and went to "private schools" in Nigeria because of the incessant strikes (got many friends like that).

The argument only becomes STEREOTYPICAL when we continually use it in intellectual discuss like this.

I have met graduates from almost all universities in nigeria (fed, state, mushroom and private) here in uk and some are so intellectually dwarfed that I often wonder, in the same vein, I have met other students also from same (fed, state, mushroom and private) here in uk that are so vast in what they know and have done or able to do (and now highly placed in good jobs) that I concluded that intellect no de look face and is not bound by anything. Your life is in your hand!

They practice all-round excellent christianity there.
Make your investigations and refute or confirm my claims.

Long Live CASOR! The joyful family!

Don't be deceived, christians(either you go to fellowship or not) muslims (either you go to mosque or not) and those who don't even believe in God excel outstandingly everywhere all the time

I actually thought the law recognises only Registry wedding and hence everyone ought to do it to be able to legally use a man's name or claim to be married not just for all the various reasons you guys have itemised.

My birthday was on the 7th and she didn't wish me a HAPPY BIRTHDAY until 4pm that day (and the sick thing is we slept in the same house and on the same bed) but last night she called some dude in my presence @ 12am and said she calling to make sure she was the first to wish him a Happy birthday. Am confused on so many levels cos her friends are like she really loves me but they don't know why she's acting up.

@ slimyem: That's why am asking for advise cos no job seems to be coming my way. Can't i regain it without having a job? cos the thing is i still buy her gifts and give her money. I don't know when people will ever get it into their small skull that INTELLIGENCE is not static

If you graduate with a 1:1 , 2:1 or whatever you call it from anywhere in the world, does your intelligence remain at that level for life

The last time you can compare people is when they' re all still in Uni (based on comparism of knowledge base acquired in school)

so why do people compare graduates from different university all the time.

Immediately you step out of Uni, what you make out of your life is now entirely your business not hinging on whether you walk shoulder high all over saying you graduated from Fed. Uni, Poly, State Uni or Private & Foreign Unis.  angry angry

Can spend as much as 20k and above on a pair of Jeans depending on my budget and mood.
Go to the Palms in Lekki, some of the shops are selling designer jeans 50k and above.
To be honest any jeans trouser below 5k is usually made in Onitsha or China made. The cheapest quality jeans in PHC starts from 10k upwards depending on the boutique.
This is another deception, I bought a jeans here in UK for £7, equivalent to =N=1750 and wore it to an informal social gathering, several people esp. ladies complimented my dressing and emphasized about the jeans. So when i hear people buy £150 jeans I ask myself if they had amnesia while paying!

My sister, it's not on the high side at all. Depends on what you want - and what you can possibly afford. Some people spend obscene amounts on clothing - amounts that look like telephone numbers angry.

You'll also notice that the items of clothing that cost you higher tend to last longer and they appear sharper too.

To someone who wears, say N3,500 pants, your N16k stuffs will seem super-nice - but they won't be able to guess the cost. And to someone who wears N65k pants, your 'expensive' N16k pants look like sack-cloth.
Deception, wake up and smell the coffee, some items of clothing are overpriced!
