RomanceRe: How Do You Handle Financial Issues In Your Relationship? by WhyAWhy(m): 11:49pm On Jul 05, 2013
l2l: I'm sincerely nt in support of female askin..Only if it's gettin' too much..nt as in d case of 1k for d whole life of a relationship...what i expect a guy to take care once in a yl recharge card..bb subscriptions and nt actual physical cash..am also in same ditch..my gurlfrnd asks a lot too and too frequent after i recharge once in a week wif lik 200naira..pays monthly subscription on a monthly basis..buy gifts for b.days nd extends cash once in a yl..d funny thing is if she wanna buy stuffs lik fones and expensive gadgets..i supports wif minimum of 5k..the funny tin is, she earns more dan i du..*we are both fresh graduates*
Mehn you're a big yidiot and a self made slave. Two people of perfect understanding should be together. I have zero weekly monthly or daily financial commitment to my girl friend. She has access to my account and i also have access to hers and when we need to get anything we both discuss it so there's no frivolous spending. She knows how much and when I earn so no one is a slave at all to each other. We both help and uphold each other and make sacrifices from time to time . It's high time guys stopped trying to make themselves their woman's father !!

rezzy: somebody in NL once said that graduate from OAU cant speak English fluently
Speaking good English has nothing to do with graduating from OAU or any other school for that matter. I graduated from OAU and I have colleagues from other universities in the world in my research group who still struggle with polished english. Even so so-called britons struggle with writing good constructive sentences. It's a foundation thing which boils down to individual development. And for you that can speak flawless english... why don't you take it to the bank?!

And.. what's with some people claiming respect at orientation ground,... if the school you attended is what gives you morale.. then you've got issues. You graduated from OAU so what?!

usmsam: The day I hear this man has done something nice and charitable, that is when I will start respecting him. He should leave all these photo shoots alone, grow up and get married, like his mates.
What does getting married have to do with getting fulfilled in life huh?!!!!
Nigerians and insecurity, always measuring success by "what your mates are up to!" What the flip is wrong with people?

lumideezle: Let's see how rich or successful she would be 5 years from now. If this Useless country won't shoot her stars from d sky with unemployment issues.

My advice 2 her is if u can afford it get out of this country Niaja is not ready 4 a Hero, our leaders are still preoccupied with stealing public funds don't let them kill ur shine
This is an extremely skewed thinking pattern and to imagine that you're possibly a graduate. What has university grades got to do with what you become in future. This is the same mindset people appear with at job interviews and fail woefully.

People like you are the ones that keep tabs on the best students in your class to see whether you're doing better than them or not. Every stage in life comes with its own design and challenges etc.

Once you leave one stage the next is a plain field for everyone. I remember one stupid guy asking me what I scored in jamb because he was tracking my scores in first year

Don't live your life on other people's terms . Nigerian mentality sha
FoodRe: As A Bachelor Do You Cook? by WhyAWhy(m): 1:12pm On Jun 01, 2013
RedBenson: op, u are too smart. U just took this question off my finger! I had planned to post it since, but chance hindered me.

Any way sha, feeding is one of the greatest challenges to bachelors. At times, even ur most reliable restaurant can disappoint u either by cooking rubbish or no food at all.

As for me, my sister do comes occassnally and cooks for me. I dont allow GFs cook for me cos i dont trust them. If no be harsh economy, at my age now (mid-20s), i no mind, i for just go marry make my wife come d fit my belle.

The only thing wey i sabi cook, na hot water (Susana & Ukwa). No be my fault. I was the d last born in the house growing up so i had seniors who did everything on my behalf.
It's totally your fault, because you chose not to learn. I am the only male child in my family and my father detests finding me in the kitchen. I learnt all the same from my sisters and can make ALL kinds of dishes. FYI, many websites(esp youtube) would teach you everything you wanna learn in the kitchen so get cooking!

It's amazing how little understanding people have about technology

This kind of thing is so "2003ish"

It is faaaaar from being a hack

First it is from a bulk SMS site and like others rightly pointed out the VC must have "replied" to the same message received. You can send and receive SMS from bulk SMS platform depending on the technology you have in place . I have pranked friends with this as far back as 2004/5 and these is what an "iD.iot" out there can achieve

To detect the fraud the user only needs to check the message center associated with the text ID once it doesn't start with "234" you know straight away that it was from a bulk messaging service

What's with Nigerians and stereotypes??!?!?! Did Genevieve come to your house to lament about loneliness or inability to marry?
So annoyingly stereotyped

- Go to school like EVERYONE
- Get a job like EVERYONE
- Get married like EVERYONE
- Have Children like EVERYONE
- Die like EVERYONE!

Is that how you summarise life? mtschew
EducationRe: Babcock University Increases School Fees, Now Up To N3million by WhyAWhy(m): 11:11pm On Apr 22, 2013
It is ONLY in Nigeria that I will see "graduates" gather to argue about who went to the best University. I have people from all over the world Imperial College, UCL etc in my University here for Postgraduate studies and they don't even mention it at all in conversation neither do they wear it on their forehead. What has graduating from OAU, UI, Babcock, Covenant etc got to do with who you are and what you can attain??!?!?! Wake up people, your mates at the other side of the globe thinking of the next ground breaking invention, you're here arguing about mundane things!
WebmastersRe: Boy, 14, Launches Social-Networking Website by WhyAWhy(m): 1:48am On Apr 20, 2013
Pain: Well, its not good to discourage a young boy..but you dont use an open source shell, modify the template and claim you have invented a website! We need to come to terms with the fact that websites are just like the notebooks of yester-years. You cant claim to have innovated by buying an exercise book off-the-shelf and creating a slum-book out of it!..Or did you ever do that huh We need to help our nigerian kids manage the transition from the paper age to the electronic age and not swell their heads out of proportion.

What will happen when he wakes up to discover he was no genius?
You took the words out of my mouth

With http://grou.ps/ you can replicate the same site. So creativity = zero

Just like someone saying he built nairaland ground up with html etc.... it's all open source technology that's available to any "i.d.i.o.t" out there.

We should encourage genuine innovation and creativity. BBC will NEVER feature stuffs like this because it's obviously not an innovation.

I really don't understand what people are on about?!!!

GLO gave out a gift to someone.. and you expect them not to BRAND it??!!! Are you for realhuh Whenever ANY company/organisation does something for "free", they would usually put their name/logo/brand on it. I am surprised anyone would make an issue out of this. That's why even programmes on tv have "sponsored" by etc and also have their adverts spicing most of the programme.

It's not also as if Keshi is under an oath or a bond not to remove the "logo" brand. Wakeup people
BusinessRe: Online Stores In Nigeria: What Is Your Experience? by WhyAWhy(m): 1:03am On Apr 07, 2013
It's a pretty new experience in nigeria. I have used Konga.com without any issue

Please Dealdey.com is NOT an ONLINE Store.. don't confuse it with anything. Dem don put it there already "deal" means, they help you find deals around and connect you with the vendors directly.. that's not hard to figure out isn't it

I also discovered http://www.buynownow.com/, this ones even sell pepper, onions, etc.. I think they use the same model with Jumia.

Another unique one is www.1500naira.com, I haven't tried it at all but I think it is owned by one of the co-founders of

niyoni: I just watched d guy on CNN. Wow! Very nice!! Thats d developed world for u- they support brilliant ideas and reward genius! Back in Africa, they wuld either kill d young inventor, kill his dream or steal his idea. At best, they wuld offer him a price far below d worth of his invention! My advice to young Nigerian inventors is dis- b smart, b fast, n keep ur dreams secret until u meet d right person/people! Word!!
Stop blaming the world for anything. The boy saw a problem.. and proferred solutions to it and somehow along the line, it attracted worthy investors and someone decided to buy into it. If you like keep dreams secret or on loud speaker, dreams are like spirits, they move from person to person. The price of your investion is the price you put on it by yourself, I don't remember anyone holding a gun to his neck.... You will be surprised the number of people thinking of exactly what you had in mind. Facebook for example was not an entirely unique idea... go figure

redcliff: Bro, you got it all wrong.. Paypal is the BIGGEST, i repeat, the BIGGEST online payment processor in the world. Trust me, where your VISA card wont work your paypal would save you. Please what kind of American did you ask that question? a hobo?

check this out now. Even the liberty reserve you love so much isn't as popular as Paypal even by a 10km stretch of road...
I wonder oh, I make online payments ALL the time since I got to uk in 2009 and when I don't trust some payments enough to drop my credit card details, I use PAYPAL, the closest I have attempted to this is 2CheckOut. I have also deployed online payments for people to their website using paypal. No other payment processor comes close

Brand_new: I personally asked an American about Paypal and he had no idea. huh huh
What the heck is the big deal about them. I still insist they are not the most widely used payment processor. Do your research and show me a link that claims otherwise. cool
One American is not enough to make this bogus claim. I am sure if I ask some people around me, they'd probably not know what paypal is also. Ask any internet savvy person in US then come back and restate your findings

Nairaland GeneralRe: Millionaire Works As A Street Cleaner To Set A Good Example For Her Kids by WhyAWhy(m): 4:40pm On Jan 10, 2013
Muhammed Zubair: Ordinary cleaner in China earns $228(morethan N35,000) can a Nigerian cleaner earn that in a month?
Remember the money will be spent in China, with all other prevailing conditions also

In U.K a typical cleaner earns £6.00 an hour, works 6am - 8am and/or 8pm - 10pm, averagely, 4 hours daily, multiply that by 25days in a month. This gives about 100hours, many people typically have 80hours per month.
Total exaggerated income is about £600 and that's like N150,000.

BUT: You will spend this SMALL money in UK oh. House Rent alone, for shared accomodation least price, probably crappy location (which you will never get unless you be student) £150 - £200 per month assuming you don't live in london oh. You will pay for your own feeding isn't it at least £50 per month. Some other factors will also chop your money even if your lifestyle is as conservative as possible. So by the end of the month, you'd be lucky to have £100 left from your earnings assuming you have no RELATIVE who thinks you're plucking money from a tree by virtue of the fact that you're in uk.

So don't just compare earnings unnecessarily across countries
RomanceRe: Would You Allow Your Parents To Chose For You A Husband/wife. by WhyAWhy(m): 4:28pm On Jan 10, 2013
UncleJJ: People who marry for love get divorced
People who marry for money get divorced

People who marry on recommendation (parents mostly) have more prosperous marriage because marrying for love is like buying a house cos you like the color.

Marrying on parental recommendation in most cases is like buying a house on advice from a professional consultant - who takes into accounts

- goverment policies
- security
- buyer and seller behaviour
- building materials
- e.t.c

Our society was built by men and women who married on reccomendation - it's in such shamble today cos idiots like you and i buy everything the television sets sells us.

You need to remember marraige is long term investment, love grows and dies, loyalty is more important than love - cos loyalty is the sacrificial type of love.
Unfortunately human behaviour doesn't lend itself to this kind of Open ended Analysis

Though I'm not a graphics designer.....but I can definitely do this. How?

1. I will Buy å designing software with lots of themes
2. I will choose a calendar design.
3.choose a theme for each page
4. Paste the photos directly....and try some amateurish stuffs(like above) like turning the perspective etc...
5. Paste the dates and necessary wording
6. I'm done with my calendar! Yipee grin am I not a genius?
You're definitely not a graphics designer
