Business / Re: Dangote Refinery Imports Crude As NNPCL Swaps Oil For Loans by Winneygirl(f): 12:42pm On Sep 20, 2023 |
Now Dangote will import crude oil to refine What am I reading? The goal has been to reduce pressure on FX. Buy locally in naira, refine locally and sell refined products both locally and internationally. If we import fuel, we spend in USD. If Dangote imports crude, they buy in USD. So how will the cost of the product go down? |

I dont know which church you attend, but sometimes a 2 hour service is like running a marathon. Just like you take some time to decompress after a stressful day, you need to decompress after church. All those loud speakers, turn to ya neighbour stuff... You can also switch from morning service to evening service if your church has different services. Evening services tend to be more chilled and has less physical and mental impact on you. 2 Likes |
Education / Re: Guys, Did I Overcharge This Woman For This? by Winneygirl(f): 8:49am On Jul 31, 2023 |
@Jewessgratitud3 Always give feedback instead of ignoring them. "Sorry, the charge if 50k. I wont be able to go below that. Thank you". Send it as a text if you feel you cannot call them. At least, the woman will respect you for that, and she will believe that you are professional and might refer someone else down the line. Be professional. You don't have to explain why you charge what you charge. But have a resume ready. You might get a better deal down the line because someone saw your portfolio. 2 Likes |

My challenge with our people in position is that they do a lot of pandering to the public. Information that should be communicated to the stakeholders directly, they will carry microphone and do public announcement. You cannot send such information to 200million people and not expect panic, hoarding and people taking advantage of others. The CBN did same for Naira redesign. Instead of talking to the banks directly, they were busy issuing circulars upon circulars to the public, causing panic, hoarding of cash by people, endangering the banks staff and banks assets and empowering people who would take advantage of others. Now that the whole thing failed, CBN has gone mute and we are no longer seeing circulars flying around. 5 Likes |

My first day at the driving school, the instructor just told me the basics, check this, check that, then started the vehicle and told me to come and sit in the driver seat. Na so o. In my mind, this guy no dey fear. But we were able to drive to the field and started the learning process. On return, motor go stop in front of dangote trailer at a roundabout... Thank God for other experienced drivers. Even the dangote truck stopped for me while I struggled to start the yeye vehicle. All the drivers around were just horning at me playfully and making comments about me being a learner. 2 Likes |

Femmyfamous4u: 40k is not enough for feeding and home maintenance. To even cook a decent pot of soup that will last a few days for both of you, at least 5k. And you both will still eat other meals 2 more times that day. Just because you bought bag of rice and semo in the house, it doesn't mean that the kitchen is stocked. It is not an allowance you are giving her. It is meant to run the home. Food is the biggest expense for any family. Seperate feeding and home maintenance money. You are not 'giving' it to her. House rent is once a year and you have 12 months to save towards it. You can ask her to contribute monthly from her salary to a seperate account where you contribute the rent money to. Increase the feeding/home maintenance to 60-70k. If she wants an allowance, give her something. A lot of women do a lot of unappreciated labour in the house. All the cooking and cleaning multiple times daily, planning and laundry... hosting your guests etc. If you disagree about the allowance, take over the feeding and home maintenance for a week. She should wake up, dress up and sit waiting for breakfast. Then when she returns, food should be on the table waiting for her. After eating, you do all the clean-up. Do all the laundry. Plan every activity. Attend to all your guests and still find time to call both family members to check on them. When you are done with all these, decide whether someone who does all these deserves an allowance or not. She's your wife. She will not use the money to run another persons home. 4 Likes |

PoloG Maybe explore distribution of FMCGs instead. Retailing is very dicy, overhead cost is high, accounting is a headache and even with software you cannot control staff 100 percent. You will also have products that wont sell well and then expire. It will cost you the same amount to be a big time distributor, and you can control it better. Just look into having a warehouse close to the market and observe other distributors. |

Business / Re: New Naira Note Scarcity Is False; I Withdrew Mine Yesterday by Winneygirl(f): 10:32am On Jan 27, 2023 |
The new notes are meant to be spent. A lot of people withdraw it to hoard at home. Once the deadline for old notes mop-up is past, people will bring out the money they have hoarded. Once business people stop collecting old notes, people will start spending what they have. These monies will then be deposited in the banks, who will in turn load them on the machines. Money is all about circulation. Not hoarding. There can never be enough cash to serve everyone, everytime. It is the same money that is deposited another person will withdraw. Right now, people are just withdrawing it, and not spending. I bet by wednesday all these unavailability of cash will cease. 2 Likes |
