Family / Re: My Step Dad Is Maltreating My Mom, I Am Confused by Winneygirl(f): 10:55am On Dec 07, 2020
BaddieFreak:
My step dad is maltreating my mom. cry What should I do?

He comes back home very late and drunk and beats my mom almost everyday. I have told my mom to leave him but she is adamant, I even rented a house for her at a point so that she can leave him but my mom only spent about a week in the house before going back to my step father's house after my step dad called her and was crying on the phone that he will change.

Yesterday I went to meet her and I saw her face swollen. When I asked her what happened she dismissed it saying it's nothing, I knew my step dad has done it again. I have reported the case to the police several times but all to no avail. I don't know if my mom and my step father made a covenant reason why they can't leave themselves.

Why are men like this? cry I am confused and heart broken cry

Tell her this.
Her staying in an abusive marriage means that she is telling you that it is ok for you to stay in an abusive relationship too. If you find yourself in an abusive marriage, she will encourage you to Stay and cannot be a refuge for you. This is a cycle she is choosing to not break.
If you have brothers, she is showing them that it is ok for them to beat on women. It is ok for them to abuse women.
Her staying in this marriage means that she supports marital abuse and the only way she can show you that she doesn't support this, is to walk away.
Is she financially independent?

Try to get them something to do.
Too much time on ones hands leads to some petty issues.
If they were busy, they'd have less time to be monitoring you.
.
They can take up tutoring of neighbourhood kids, more church activities, private business etc.

I have googled cbn and first contact email.i will send a mail tonight.
I am really disappointed in that guy.i trusted him and made all my transactions go through him and tipped him alot as my account officer.
I trusted him to the extend that I will call and ask him to transfer money to someone and he will do without me coming to the bank to sign.
Well, life itself is a lesson and I have learnt more.

This in itself is fraudulent. You asked some bank staff to be transferring money from your account without you signing it?
So you cannot request access to the banks mobile app/internet banking and do the transfers yourself.
How do you think he did the transfers? Of course he forged your signature because he would not even have the access to effect funds transfer on their system.

tracyorez:
Update

I just left first bank's head office in my state and I spoke with the operations manager.
She begged me not to write to first contact and copy cbn that the guy is a family man and that his salary and position is too high for what he is doing.
She said he will be fired if I SEND that mail that I should give her today and tomorrow to talk to the guy and let him know the implication of what he is doing and that everything will be reversed and she took my number.
Meanwhile,I tried printing out a new tbills cert but the lady in charge told me she can't print as it has expired in september but she checked her system and gave the the date I invested and the date it expired. She asked me a few questions and said she will mail treasury head and copy the guy to find out what is happening.
Good thing is "he is still their staff and not yet fired" cos someone said earlier here that I should pray he is still with them
The operations manager also confirmed he is having marital issues right now but also said it is not enough reason to tamper with my money.

Nonsense!!!
There's other staff involved in this fraud and she's trying to protect them.

The microbes that are responsible for mouth odour resides on the tongue, especially in the back.
Buy Eutymol toothpaste. It is between N1,500-N2,000. It is quite hot/harsh/minty so you only need a little at a time.
Brush your teeth and pay attention to your tongue. Twice a day is best. You will start seeing improvement in no time.
Family / Re: Taking Financial Help From One And Getting Married To Another. by Winneygirl(f): 10:06am On Nov 04, 2020
Mbdovey:

Will this work in marriage?

How can one be in love with one and take fiancial help from another?

Isn't it unfair to treat the other person that way, as if he's only there to support you financially without any benefit?

And how comes the one you loves knows you take help from admirers and still don't get upset?

Between marrying someone whom you love and who equally loves you (your best friend) but not fianancially capable of supporting you and one who is fiancially okay, but you don't love him,

which would you advise your sister to go for?

What happens when the responsibilities in marriage set in and the one you married for love can't handle it?

Matured mind in the house, what would you advise?

There's nothing wrong in a woman working and earning money to support the home.
Both partners can work and earn income to support themselves. That is the reality of many people.
All these "marry a man that has money to take care of you", dem tie your hand? You can't work too?

I'm yet to see the video though and i didn't support the stupid actions of the senseless army.

My worry is why are the concerned families are yet to talking about it, one week plus after.

Lagos is no-mans land. A lot of people travel alone from far away states to hustle in Lagos. Their family members do not live with them and maybe they only talk once in a while on the phone. It will be a long time before some family know that their loved one died, and some will say that their loved one went missing... forever. They'll never know.

Gov Ortom Wake Up: Benue COVID 19 Palliatives In Kano Markets (VIdeo)

At this difficult time in our Nations history Benue state should not be in the news for Shameful reasons such as this .

At a time when our people are hungry , evil men and women are selling off food items donated to them as Palliatives by the coalition against COVID-19.

When i initially saw this news i felt it was an attempt to blackmail the state Government until details emerged that evil men and women within the government are responsible for these travesty of Justice.

“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.”- Edmund Burke

This is a direct call the Gov Ortom to Wake up from slumber before evil men rubbish him and his Government, its a disgrace that Benue is selling off her COVID 19 Palliatives. This Palliative must be returned in full and shared to the needy and those who truly needs them. For....

Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Execute true justice, show mercy and compassion everyone to his brother. Do not oppress the widow or the fatherless, the alien or the poor. Let none of you plan evil in his heart against his brother.’” Zechariah 7:8-10.

May God Deliver this Nation from Evil Men

The veggies will help induce frequent bowel movements.
So start requesting vegetable soup all the time so she cooks and eats it.

Trust me, nobody can confirm if you're a legit seller or not. Not until you return the good they paid for. Your idea you are a legit seller is OYO. On your Own. It's akin to one hyping himself all by himself. If na me you form say you no dey show image I request for, good for me you no wan sell market. I even think say person wey wan sell market will go extra mile to convince a customer he/she is real, especially in such a platform filled with scams. You're not even serious. If na me I don jump you pass and onto the next dealer.

So if I put up a product for sale now, and below it I attach a picture of myself holding a placard saying 'I am not a scammer', that will be convincing enough for you?
.
As a customer,I am not thinking that the person I am transacting with is a scammer but once I see that placard, I'm done!! Better to err on the side of caution.
Family / Re: How I Was Scammed By Selfpaiid On Nairaland. by Winneygirl(f): 5:30pm On Jul 28, 2020
flyingpig:
I heard his account number is a "phone number account ". Someone on finance field told me, he also said it doesn't require BVN. So it may be a shady account created with shady details and originally intended for scam purposes.

For example his bank account name is "sunny oyenka ", but running his phone number on true caller revealed "rinmang dalokom".

See? No one knows his real name or his real picture. See this option, before sending anyone on nairaland money, tell them to instantly write "I am not a scammer" on a whitepaper and snap a selfie and upload to you. That way we can at least know his real face and upload it on internet for posterity sake if he scams. At least he can't meet an anybody and request such person to hold the image and be captured with a camera. Anybody will feel untoward upholding a paper saying "i am not a scammer".

My opinion and if you agree, upload it on business section where sales are made.

Write wetin on wetin?
As a genuine seller, i would not be putting up a picture of myself holding a placard saying 'I am not a scammer'.

He named himself 'Selfpaiid'. Nobody found it odd that there was an extra 'i'??
It's because he already has an abandoned moniker 'Selfpaid' and has probably used it to scam people too.
Did no one here ask for a picture of what they were buying? No delivery fee?
Abi after paying 2k for the decoder, he will use 1k from it to pay the bus driver or the courier?

Let's stop making it easy for people to scam us.

it's stressful, exhausting...not what I really love/want to be doing

My boss dosent like me...I can perceive my colleague see me as incompetent hence I don't have their respect

But then it pay this bills...that's the only motivation for me

I feel it shouldn't be that way...it should be more than money

I want to resign...

Just thinking out loud

I felt this way.
What I did?
I proceeded on leave, and rested.
Sometimes, i travel, see new places, ride a train, ride a boat, go swimming and just refresh myself..
When I return, it would not be so bad.
Plus you will gain a lot of ideas for your personal life.
I'm currently on leave. I wasn't ready to proceed on leave, but i realised that my morale was too low. Two days off now, and I'm feeling better. My brain is starting to think on it's own.
Crime / Re: Rape: Izu Madubueze Reads Suicide Note Before Killing Self Over False Accusation by Winneygirl(f): 5:32am On Jul 28, 2020
It must have been very frustrating, to not know who your accuser was.
He didn't rape anyone.
He sent a bunch of messages to a girl he liked and they were not well received.
He was prepared to apologise to whoever it was, but they wouldn't reveal themselves. And he was suffering. He was loosing everything he had worked so hard for and not even being given a chance to clear his name.
People didn't make the distinction between sexual assault and 'non-physical sexual harassment ' and this was hurting him.
.
His whole life came crashing down, thanks to some unauthorised, poorly vetted sexual offenders list someone made in their house without any form of investigation.
.
The Nani girl and the 'anonymous accuser ' should be investigated and if found to be on the negative side of truth, be punished according to the law.

I have been on both ends. The hot-hot and the quiet angry one.
I tell you, the quiet one is the mature one. Because in that silence, I am able to articulate my thoughts and when everything is calm, I can talk it out, with clarity and without insults.
Sometimes, you realize in your silence that the situation is not worth your energy and you move on.
