Ridhwan1:You too wan expose the guy? So you know what he did during his NYSC. You even know him way back in secondary school, what he did during WAEC exams? Na waaa oooh, no one is a saint, including Buhari!!! |
President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday accepted the resignation of Kemi Adeosun as minister of finance. The president also approved that Zainab Ahmed, Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, oversee the ministry with immediate effect. This was contained in a statement by Femi Adesina, media aide to the president. In her resignation letter, the former minister thanked Buhari for giving her the opportunity to serve. She explained the circumstances surrounding the forged National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate. “Let me commence by thanking you profusely for the honour and privilege of serving under your inspirational leadership. It has been a truly rewarding experience to learn from you and to observe at close quarters your integrity and sense of duty,” she said. “I have, today, become privy to the findings of the investigation into the allegation made in an online medium that the Certificate of Exemption from National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) that I had presented was not genuine. This has come as a shock to me and I believe that in line with this administration’s focus on integrity, I must do the honourable thing and resign. “Your Excellency, kindly permit me to outline some of the background to this matter. I was born and raised in the United Kingdom, indeed my parental family home remains in London. My visits to Nigeria up until the age of thirty-four (34) were holidays, with visas obtained in my UK passport. I obtained my first Nigerian passport at the age of thirty-four (34) and when I relocated there was debate as to whether NYSC Law applied to me. “Upon inquiry as to my status relating to NYSC, I was informed that due to my residency history and having exceeded the age of thirty (30), I was exempted from the requirement to serve. Until recent events, that remained my understanding.” |
Ndume said in the interview that it had become certain that the Boko Haram sect that abducted Sharibu and over 100 other girls from their school was waging a psychological war to get more money from the government. The representative of Borno South Senatorial District, Ali Ndume, has told Saturday PUNCH that dreaded sect, Boko Haram, is demanding for ransom to free the only remaining Dapchi, Yobe State schoolgirl with them, Leah Sharibu. Ndume said in the interview that it had become certain that the Boko Haram sect that abducted Sharibu and over 100 other girls from their school was waging a psychological war to get more money from the government. He told Saturday PUNCH: “The stronger ones who still have the audacity to carry out major attacks are those from Mohammed Nuru’s Boko Haram faction that is operating from the fringes, which is the group that we are suspecting got money from the negotiation for the release of the Dapchi girls. “Now they are psychologically pressing for more money through propaganda by using Leah Sharibu. “Yes, this is true because they must get money to carry out their operations, and the only source of money is the ransom paid to them. “But then, the government is in a tight situation ". Ndume, who admitted that the insurgency had increased after the Dapchi girls were released, noted that the military had also intensified efforts to crush the insurgents. He said: “I don’t know exactly what is happening. “The truth of the matter is that there is a resurface or escalation of intermittent attacks by the insurgents, over which I have raised the alarm and to which I have called the attention of the authorities. “But I am happy with the response of the Nigerian Army, particularly after the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, ordered and relocated the operational headquarters of the Army to Gozombali in Guzama Local Government Area. “That is very commendable. “I am hoping that at the same time they will also increase and intensify the fight against insurgency in other black spots in the Sambisa Forest and the Mandara Mountains in Gworza Local Government Area.” |

ABSURD BANK CHARGES I read a piece from one DOCTOR OLUFUNMILAYO that Nigerian banks are feeding fat on their customers through some dubious bank charges. Before I tell you what the person said, let me quickly say this: I operate a current account with a bank that claims the foremost in age. I remembered leaving more than N10k in that account because I hardly use the account; it's a personal not a business account. I used to receive all kinds of messages from the bank about birthdays, Christmas, Easter, Sallah, Father's/Mothers' day, Independence, Democracy, etc greetings. One day I received a call from one of the agents of the bank asking me to make deposits to my account. I quickly ran to check my balance only to see that my account balance is in minus. The meaning is that, those useless messages gulped my hard earned money. I also came across a bank where every deposit you make in your account is being charged. It's now a crime to go to bank! A new fraud is the POS operation. Banks liaise with individual operators to rob people. I went to a place where I needed cash, it was N400 per every N1000. I did transfer using my phone, and collected the cash from them. Bank charged me and they did too. If you are using POS in your business, every money you withdraw from a customer is charged by the bank. My people, what is happening? Now back to the former story. Doctor Olufunmilayo WROTE : 'I have lived in UK a few years now and NEVER has my bank ever charged me one penny for bank transfer. NEVER. NOT ONCE. I’m sorry. But that 52 naira 50kobo that Nigerian banks deduct per transaction, what exactly is it for? Why is no one speaking out against this blatant fraud? Another is the fraudulent “Card Maintenance Fees” by Nigerian banks. Please how are you maintaining a card that is in my wallet? I have about 3-4 UK Bank Cards. Both credit and debit cards and l have NEVER paid any such thing as a “Card Maintenance Fee”. NEVER EVER. The Nigerian Banking Sector is an unfortunately over-bloated industry that thrives on systemically entrenched policies that terribly defrauds Nigerians and lives on cheating the average citizen of the hard earned money that is entrusted in their care to help save and invest. You want to send money to someone from your Nigerian bank account and you first have to plan an extra 52 naira 50kobo. Money that is electronically sent from one Nigerian bank account to another Nigerian bank account What exactly is the charges for? Why is this fraud tolerated? Someone said the charges go to NIPOST. I want to believe it is mere trolling as it makes absolutely no sense. Please, How is Nipost involved in an ELECTRONIC money transfer? Did I put the money in an envelope and post it? Or what? We deserve better. This is systemic cruelty. When I applied for ATM Cards in UK (both debit and credit), I was NEVER charged a penny. The card is given free. And “maintenance”, if there’s any such thing, is done free. IF we never get the chance to see how things happen in other places, we won’t know we are being cheated. When I applied for an ATM Card in Nigeria, I was charged 1,000 naira to have one. And I’m being charged some extra regularly in the pretence of an imaginary “Card Maintenance Fees”. This is systemic corruption and a fundamental banking fraud aimed at impoverishing Nigerians. Let’s do a little maths, dear friends. According to NIBSS, as at December 2017, there was almost 65,000 daily Electronic Fund Transfers in 2017. At 52.50 naira per transaction, that’s over 3 million naira a day. And about 1 billion naira a year. Should this fraud continue?' |
Should we keep quiet on this, seeing that same people are campaigning for another term in office? |
The United States of America has revealed what they believe has been responsible for the incessant killings across Nigeria especially in the Middle Belt and northern Nigeria. The US government said that clear existence of impunity, where people are committing serious crimes and get away without being brought to justice was the cause of killings, which appears to have been on the increase under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari. This was stated by the Deputy Chief of Mission and Charge de Affaires, US Embassy in Nigeria, David Young, when he spoke with newsmen on Sunday night in Jos during his fellowship with church leaders in Plateau State. While he urged Buhari’s government to ensure that it strengthened the country’s “laws to deal with killers,” he also called on his government to see that the Independent National Electoral Commission conduct free, fair, transparent, peaceful and credible process general elections in 2019. “We want partners in ways to ensure that the kind of violence we have seen over the past months don’t flare up in any election”, he said. Young, a member of the Methodist Church in the US, was reacting to questions on how to end the incessant wanton killings and crisis between farmers and Fulani herdsmen in Plateau State, after he delivered a sermon entitled, “Living as a Christian in a multi-religious and multi-cultural context.” He also used the opportunity to pay tribute to the 83-year-old Imam of Nghar village, Gashish District, Alhaji Abubakar Abdullahi, who reportedly saved 300 persons, including Christians when suspected Fulani herdsmen struck on June 24. He went further to also reiterate the condolences of the Donald Trump’s administration to the families of those massacred by Fulani herdsmen who attacked some communities in the Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State. The acting US Ambassador to Nigeria said, “On behalf of the United States government and American people, I want to express again our condolences on the tragic loss of lives across Plateau, North-Central and North-West states. Quite a lot of people have died; it has been very terrible tragedies. We want to affirm the sanctity of human lives and anytime a person dies, it is a tragic loss, be that person a Christian, Muslim, Berom, farmer or herder. READ ALSO: Even Biafra war didn’t witness killing of children like under Buhari –KOWA Presidential aspirant “I think it is clear, we know and government knows that as well. A lot of people are doing good things and working hard. But it needs to be even more because it is clear that there is a climate of impunity. When people are committing serious crimes, they get away with it, without being brought to justice. “It is so important that there should be very strong efforts to make sure that people are brought to justice for these terrible crimes. It is also important to address the drivers of conflicts, address opportunity, fight poverty and provide jobs and hope for young people because definitely young people are getting into terrible groups. They really need to be part of the future and as such need mentoring and parenting.” www.ripplesnigeria.com CC: Lalasticlala, Mynd44 Etc. |
I don;t give in easily to this kind of blackmail. This looks to me as a paid advertorial which was hatched 5 months ago and hidden from Nigerians until now. The coasts look clearer now and so these PMB witches and wizards are trying to conjure and unleash their criminality on innocent Nigerians. You can read the full story here: Economy: Making Nigeria Published 5 months ago; on April 9, 2018 By penresa The revival of Nigeria’s economy has gained momentum under the guidance of President Buhari’s ERGP programme; its ambitious targets yield results that seem to indicate that they will soon be superseded. In spite of difficult times, Nigeria has been rated as the top 10 most improved economies in 2016/2017. “Nigeria is a very resilient country in terms of economy,” states Mr. Venkatapathy Venkataraman Group MD at NIPCO. This has been a result of the ERPG programme and its emphasis on industrialisation and diversification policies which boost capital inflows and encourages ease of doing business. In November 2017 Godwin Emefiele Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria CBN’s presented Nigeria’s economic outlook for 2018, predicting that national forex reserves will hit US$ 40bn in 2018. In introducing I&E forex the improvement in the ease of doing business is guaranteed. “The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) played an extensive role in ensuring relative price stability and in managing the dearth of foreign exchange,” declares Mr Obeahon Ohiwerei, Managing Director at Keystone Bank. READ: Why Nigeria needs a new national carrier “If the tight monetary policy continues, and the Central Bank continues to manage the liquidity that makes FX, the economy may grow more than the 1.8% projected,” claims Mr Abubakar Jimoh, CEO at Coronation Merchant Bank. Although energy sales in Nigeria account for up to 80 percent of all government revenue and more than 90 percent of the country’s exports, Agriculture and ICT sectors have flourished, providing steady growth, employment and investment opportunities. The ERGP’s shift towards becoming import dependent has been particularly successful in Agriculture. Proforce MD, Mr Ade Ogundeyin declares, “the government is serious and committed about made-in-Nigeria goods. They are saying that if it can be produced in Nigeria you don’t import it.” The government’s intention to use telecoms and ICT for economic development and financial inclusion is auspicious for the industry. Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission, Mr Umar Danbatta states that “telecoms contribution to GDP is now close to 10% and has been contributing 1.4 trillion naira to the economy.” Minister of Power, Works and Housing Hon. Fashola confirms the commitment to IT, “We’re installing more broadband and connectivity across the country,” which in turn enhances a definite entrepreneurial spirit at play amongst the people. The government has made it extremely clear that it will be pouring funding into infrastructure. Minister of Power, Works and Housing Hon. Fashola declares, “the investment in infrastructure is driving the value chain of the economic diversification.” The government’s plans to modernise and restructure the country’s public transport system has proved a great opportunity for investors and the economy. READ: Nigeria Needs Industrialization now Nigeria remains a highly appealing destination for investors. Mr Tunde Fowler, Chairman at FIRS elaborates, “Nigeria is an investor’s heaven with so much potential; from industry to agriculture to telecommunications. There’s so much room for expansion and the ease of doing business ensures that anyone who has a business, or who intends to start a business, will not have to face any bureaucracy, roadblocks or hindrance. Nigeria’s government is determined to provide profound and long-term change in economic prosperity and stability; there remains little doubt that it is Nigeria’s destiny to uphold the title of largest economy in Africa for a long time yet.

Isiyaku, 35, was docked on a charge of mischief, contrary to Section 327 of the Penal Code. By The Eagle Online On Sep 11, 2018 3 3 A Minna Magistrates’ Court in Niger has sentenced a security guard, Musa Isyaku, to three months imprisonment for removing APC bill boards in Minna. Isiyaku, 35, was docked on a charge of mischief, contrary to Section 327 of the Penal Code. The Police Prosecutor, Insp. Ahmed Ali, told the court that Isyaku was arrested on September 8 by men of the Chanchaga Security Committee while removing the bill boards. Ali said the convict, who is also a resident of Chanchaga Community, was handed over to one Salihu Adamu, an APC youth leader in the area, who handed the convict to the police. The prosecutor said the convict destroyed and removed some APC bill boards placed along the Minna-Suleja highway. He said that when confronted, Isiyaku claimed the PDP billboards on the same road had been removed by unknown persons, so it was better the road stayed without bill boards. When the charge was read to him, he pleaded guilty and begged the court for leniency. The prosecutor, had however, prayed the court to try him summarily in line with Section 157 of the Criminal Procedure Code. The Magistrate, Sa’adatu Gambo, ordered Isiyaku to pay a fine of N10, 000 or serve three months in prison in the event of default to pay the money.

cpu2006:What really happened is that this is a case of giving with the right hand and collecting it with the left hand. Dino Melaye can help you out: Melaye said in a statement in Abuja in reaction to President Muhammad Buhari’s remarks when signing the 2018 Appropriation Bill on Wednesday, that the president's comments indicated that the legislators padded the budget, since the National Assembly was not a department in the Presidency. Melaye said: “I notice that the president is trying to whip up sentiments against the National Assembly again, by alleging that the 2018 budget was padded. “What the president is authorised to do constitutionally is to present the National Assembly with a Bill; a Bill is a work-in-progress and not the finished work. “The reason the Constitution directs the Bill to be submitted to the national assembly is that it expects the national assembly to vet it and make inputs before passing it in readiness for Appropriation Act. “The National Assembly is not expected to rubber stamp whatever Bill the president presents. “If this was the norm, there would have been no need for the Constitution to direct that the Bill should be submitted to the national assembly in the first place.” The lawmaker added that the president reserved the right not to append his signature if he was not convinced of what the legislature did as an institution. According to him, the president is free to return the Appropriation Bill to the national assembly unsigned, with a note indicating his areas of disapproval. Melaye further expressed displeasure with the level of implementation of the country’s budget in the last three years. He said that the powers and authority of the National Assembly could not be eroded by the presidency. Buhari had, while signing the Bill, said “the logic behind the Constitutional directive that budgets should be proposed by the Executive is that it is the Executive that knows and defines its policies and projects. He said: “Unfortunately, that has not been given much regard in what has been sent to me. “The National Assembly made cuts amounting to N347 billion in the allocations to 4,700 projects submitted to them for consideration and introduced 6,403 projects of their own amounting to N578 billion. “Many of the projects cut are critical and may be difficult, if not impossible, to implement with the reduced allocation. “Some of the new projects inserted by the National Assembly have not been properly conceptualized, designed and cost ascertained and will therefore, be difficult to execute. “Furthermore, many of these new projects introduced by the National Assembly have been added to budgets of most MDAs with no consideration for institutional capacity to execute them or the incremental recurrent expenditure that may be required.” |
