cbrass:Which God? The same who has not delivered you and your deluded company of liars? Take it or leave it Chibok Girls Abduction is a BIG SCAM! |
Adiola:Again, how come they now believe foreign comments about the Chibok saga rather than local reports? Has the Nigerian Intelligence Headquarters been relocated to the US and UK? Why are the released girls not allowed to talk to the Nigerian press? Haven't you seen why Nigeria is a joke? |
tonytony208:Seconded! |

LAND PREPARATION TECHNIQUE THAT REDUCES PEST INVASION The planting season is here for the traditional farmers; these farmers rely solely on rain water to cultivate their crops, thus, have limited production. However, the commercial farm, where planting is done all through the year, uses irrigation facilities to enhance their crop yield throughout the year. This is the most profitable form of crop production. It is an established fact that pests are great threats to any crop producing enterprise; they are pathogens, they include: insects, rodents, humans. Pest causes diseases, reduces yield, and reduces the quality of the produce; in severe cases leads to total crop failure, leaving the farmer in a chaotic condition. How to control pests Pest control starts prior to planting; it requires drastic approach to reduce their effects below economic damage level. Pesticides are chemicals commonly used to control pests; however, it increases the cost of production. Further research has been carried out on how to control pests of different crops without altering the nature or contaminating the produce at the long run. This initiated the use of cultural practice to control pests. There is a cultural practice that reduces pest invasion without the use of chemicals; it has been proven effective and widely used in commercial farms to control pests and also increases yield and profitability of the business. It is called conventional land preparation technique. Land preparation is very important in crop production; it prepares the land and gets it ready to work, it revitalizes the soil to enhance reasonable crop yield. There are several methods of land preparation but the most effective is the conventional land preparation technique. The conventional land preparation technique involves: Surface clearing: Surface clearing is the first work done on the field; it entails clearing, stumping and total removal of debris from the soil. This is where most farmers stop their land preparation operation. This is just “Zero Tillage” land preparation technique. Planting on such land agitates pests in less than a week. Ploughing: The next operation is ploughing; ploughing is the pulverizing of the soil, that is, turning up the soil from a deep depth. This has great impact on the soil and crop to be planted. Pulverizing the soil means uprooting the soil, turning the soil over and exposing the hidden portion of the soil. The effects of this is that the habitats or abodes of pests are exposed; this makes the pests evacuate from the land in search for new abode. Also, younger pests and pest eggs are exposed to unfavorable conditions, thus, eliminating them totally. However, some farmers stop at this stage; this is not good enough. This stage is called the minimum tillage land preparation technique. Firstly, the ploughed land should be left untouched for about 2 weeks before planting is done on it; this facilitates: the decay of the buried shrubs and grasses. Destroy the host of insect and rodent pest. Allows the soil to regain nutrients. If planting is done immediately, the seeds will decay because of the heat generated from the operation. Harrowing: This is the final stage of the conventional land preparation technique; it is done 2 weeks after ploughing. After ploughing, the soil forms clogs, that is, they are divided into big particles and dispersed on the field. Also, the soil becomes hard or caked. What harrowing does is to break the clogs, make the soil even, fine, soft and friable. After harrowing, the soil looks smooth and neat; such soil is well drained and fit to plant any crop. It aids quick germination and quick root development. After harrowing At the end of this operation, there are fewer emergences of pest and diseases. Also, weeds are controlled till the plant outgrows weed threats. Though, this technique is expensive but anything worth doing at all is worth doing fine and well.

anyebedgreat:Mr. Man,.... boy? Sorry for you! |
anyebedgreat:Where did he say all that, in the same book he just brushed aside that is full of errors or where? Just look for work to do! |
damosky12:No tribalism abi? You mean Jonathan is tribeless and so deserves your insults? With all the unkind words you say about him will move a supporter of his to give it back to you! So mind yourself and behave well!!! |
Nigeria is a country ruled and bastardized by military rule. Average Nigerians today have no love for one another. Like the military clutched the gun and dared whoever criticizes or challenges them, the same way those in "democratic" leadership of Nigeria have no mercy. They use power to intimidate and silence voices of reason. What a pity! Because someone said he hates injustice as perpetuated by a leader, some people affected by the wasp venom are warming up for his arrest, whether good or bad. Where are we heading to? Do we silence and kill the voices of reason simply because we want our Pharaoh alone to be greater? This is worse than witchcraft!!! Why silence voices of reason? When will the youths of Nigeria grow up? Progress and prosperity will elude Nigeria if this kind of attitude is allowed to continue! For a better society, even the idiot has an opinion. The best answer for such an idiotic opinion is silence. When you dabble into every issue that is raised, you make yourself very inferior. Fayose has a voice. Whether or not he speaks what the presidency wants or not, they need to listen to him and give him a satisfying answer, not abuses or insults. He too is a Nigerian!!! |
OsuIbo:Better tell yourself the truth that if your mother born you well and apart from the anti-Igbo you have made yourself to be, would you insult your elders or those better than you? You can attest to the fact that the personalities you listed here and in your previous posts, have never had equals in the whole of your family line as well as your own region. May the spirit of all the dead you invoked never give you rest and may the pursue you till eternity! Amen. |
modelmike7:Did you make a comment? |
Flyingngel:What you just said now is a direct deviate from what you posted earlier. I salute your courage for that reply. GEJ or not, we must move forward. We cannot continue this way, blame GEJ forever nothing will come out of it. My groose here is that we voted in a government that promised us greater change yet nothing happens. GEJ govt never delved into Ogoni land clean up, but the present govt did. Yet nothing in sight. If the people of ND rise up to protest govt's insincerity, why blame them? |
Initially the feminine gender commands respect. No, not nowardays. Women are no longer homemakers. They destroy the homes. Couples no longer live together. Children are born bastards even when they have parents. Things have fallen apart. Women want to take over the headship of man in everything. They agitate for trivial matters and end up bruised. The homefront today is marred by emotional manipulation - that's satanic! Sometimes I wonder why people get married in the first place. They share "all things in common" only when the man is ready to bleed himself dry, but the woman cannot bring out her resources. What then is the reason for her taking a paid employment? Most men will practically stop their wives from any form of work to keep the home for them. Others allow their wives to work but now see what they get. Anyway, I din't have much to say but it is very bad of any woman to use her hands scatter her own home. They can initiate quarrel, run their mouth anyhow and even be the first to raise a hand against the man. When the man cooperates, they will still be the ones to call press conference shouting ABUSE! One told the husband that things are getting tougher for only him to carry the weight of the family's needs that she should be allowed to pick up a paid employment. Because the man wants the wife to be happy abd feel belonged, he allowed it. Some years later, the woman was still lamenting. She will practically force the man to keep vigils at night praying anytime her salary delays. The last thing she does is telling the man when the salary is paid. The reason for taking employment is defeated. The man called and told her to quit her job and join him in his business but she refused and left the man's house. Most women today want to be referred to as "a once married" woman. They love freedom to the extreme! I wonder why people take almost every word some of these women speak to be true. I don't give them support any more. Research has shown that 80% of marriages today have women who maltreat their men. Average men are shy in nature and would not like to go public with family issues. Only shameless women do! |
with all due respect can you swear I've never paid a titheTo whom? |
Flyingngel:There you go again! At least I have been able to establish a fact that you lack objectivity. You are beclouded by partisan politics and divide-and-rule tactics. It has never helped any nation. Being an Akwa Ibom is a blackmail of the highest level. Have you not heard the saying: "he who pays the piper dictates the tune?" Your paymasters are in charge of your reasoning, being an Akwa Ibom man notwithstanding! You campaigned against GEJ and voted him out for what you outlined above as your good reasons. Now all that GEJ and his outgone government did which you called error then are what you are doing today with celebrations and fanfare. What makes your government different? I stand to be corrected that once a President is voted to power he accepts and absorbs all other nationals (citizens) no matter their party affiliations or regions as his own constituency. Your government is yet to tell Nigerians if they are ruling Nigeria or some segments of Nigeria. Your corruption war is lopsidded and has never recorded a plus achievement. I can go on and on. But before I leave you with your childish conscience, let me reitrate here that I am not a party man - I stand for justice. I criticize any government in power for their mistakes and celebrate them for their achievements. Don't feel you made a valid point in what you wrote above. Consider it and find out if your writing is propelled by your love for Nigeria or your selfish interest. Think deep about it... |
omenkaLives:I thought I had respect for this poster, but going by his stand on issues of national importance makes him a suspect. Either Omenka or Okwanka, truth should be respected. You hold your progress when all you do is run round the circle - all motions but no movement! What prevents you from keeping your mouth shut when you know you cannot keep your promises? Who do you want to impress? You celebrated the Ogoni Clean up with much fanfare and now you did nothing and you want the people to be clapping for you? The days such nonesense is done are over. Change requires that you do things differently and positively too. We need to see your achievement before you blame agitators or protesters. The bunch of imbecility that beclouded the present Nigerian youths is unfathomable. You came with the idea of objectivity yet you celebrate parochialism and detatchment of a whole region. Will you succeed? Wise people don't open their mouths wide to spew trash, they think deeper before they speak. People will always be hunted by their evil pasts of omission and commission. It cannot end here, there is always a pay day according to the laws of distributive justice. When you joke or trivialise every important issue, when it is your turn to get serious about a thing, people will joke and trivialise it. It is a law! |
deolu2000:Nigerians are a marvel. There was a country whose leaders dish out promises like rain water for the fun of it. What ND youths are saying, have you taken time to analyse to see if they are on point or off point? What happened to the Ogoni clean up project that was celebrated all over the world? Did you find out if the government is living true to its promises? What about the amnesty issues that the government destroyed with bogus promises? Well, I am not a fan of any militant or group, I stand for justice! Let the government respect itself!!!! |
Flyingngel:Did you make a statement or you just opened your mouth wide? The information says "unfulfilled promises by the federal government". What concerns the names you just mentioned with the case at hand? Is it not better you address the issue than casting aspersions? I weep for missionless, visionless and directionless Nigerian youths. It's a pity!!! |
benuejosh:An adage says that when a child speaks in the comity of adults, you quickly detects his age. Children will always reason and speak like children. Let me remind you that with all your "astronomical achievements" in this regime your citizens are left in their homes to die without pity from you. So many of them are committing suicide and you are there celebrating mediocrity. We only hear about your wanthom recoveries yet not seeing where it reflects in the economy. Yesterday you read in the news how your Naira did an emergency U-turn against the Dollar and yet you are here looking for unwarranted attention. I don't blame you because a kid that is strapped on the mother's back does not know that the journey is too long. Keep eating and wasting your parents food while they sweat out blood to make sure you are fed! If I were you, I will look for a part time daily job to help them. You can't remain a parasite on them forever! |
Islie:Adeniji and his co-academics should bury their heads in shame! What they should be concerned with is the lies that they sent their errand boys to push against Dino Maleye that failed woefully. Instead of supporting and congratulating Dino for winning the unneccessary war they launched against him, they were busy looking for loopholes on how to pin Dino down. What Dino did was to say in demonstrative way: "I love my alma mater!" Haters should go and quench!!! |
PapaBrowne:Let them continue deceiving themselves. Who are those you caught with the issues that you mentioned? You instituted a probe panel and they made recommendations and you are jumping to high heavens that you have uncovered fraud, which you are not sure whether it is fraud or not. What if the Director's son actually did not ride on the father's back to win the grant? This is a government of witches and wizards, who are only happy when the people are crying. But the truth is that every with must DIE!!! |
"I kiss my husband everyday"! Hmmm, even when he travels out of town? |
I must say Nigerians are a rare breed. Their position must be somewhere special, not just the EARTH. Nigerians are patient, tolerant, knowledgeable, enterprising, hospitable, and what have you. To say I love Nigerians is an understatement. What did I see? I saw that the talk of the town - economic recession, like any other past mistakes of the government, no matter who or the party in power, is fast becoming part of the people. Everybody is adjusting fast! Given few more weeks, recession will have a baptismal name and become a password for any succeeding and surviving Nigerian. I appreciate the kind of shock absorber that God embeded in the fabrics of every Nigerian at the time of creation. You can see the level of tolerance, survival tactics and the likes. I truly love this, I don't know about you... it's a great virtue, more of God's grace, Nigerians!
|
dunkem21:Nice shoe abi? I no blame you because you are always happy going to bed on empty stomach while your leaders wear nice shoes! |
Amoyinoluwa24:The more you lie the more credibility you lose of the little respect that remains of you. Are you not ashamed of yourself? If truth remains in you about this matter, why did you block, placate and threaten those that went to court demanding for fair hearing on the matter. Please this matter should be rested! |
IpobExposed:Noted. Everybody will not be like you who can because of money sell your conscience. She did not speak what you wanted to hear. Had the reverse been the case, you would have blown the roof top with celebrations, but now your ego is dim! |
Most Nigerian youths are slow learners, have no focus! If you like bring up a matter that is described as "dead on arrival" you will see Nigerian youths analysing rubbish and giving you an overwhelming support. Seems they are cursed from womb. Church dem no go, Mosque dem no dey, die dem no gree die. The worst is that many of them have passed through the ivory towers, yet nothing upstairs, what a wasted generation! |
The title here may sound unpatriotic but I have no choice than to use it. It is sheer wickedness for a father to watch his child suffer everything he suffered in life. The Nigerian government established regulatory agencies and still put up a blind eye to the excesses of offending companies, individuals and groups. I have had warnings like: "tobacco smokers are liable to die young" but government still allow tobacco in its markets, while collecting taxes. Now the issue of regulation and corruption fighting are inseparable. I got to know about Coca Cola Bottling Company Killing Nigerians Slowly In their own land apparently, for 9 years, when a civil law case which has been going on against Coca Cola Bottling Company, manufacturers of Fanta and Sprite was called up in the court. The case was instituted by one Dr Fijabi, who in 2007, for whatever reason, had bought about N12 million worth of Fanta and Sprite drinks from Coca Cola Ltd, and exported same to the United Kingdom. However, on reaching England, under Health and Safety regulations, the authorities tested the products and found them to contain "poisonous levels of Benzoic Acid and Sunset addictives", and were therefore declared "unfit for human consumption". The whole export consignment was consequently destroyed. Dr Fijabi therefore, sued Coca Cola for negligence, breach of duty of care to its customers, and loss of earnings. But in its defence, the Coca Cola shocked everyone in court by saying that Mr Fijabi did not tell them he was going to Export the Fanta and Sprite to England; that they were indeed manufactured "FOR LOCAL CONSUMPTION". So what Coca Cola bottling company is telling us, is that, if they knew the Fanta and Sprite were to be exported to England, they would not have added so much poisonous acid; but for the people of Nigeria, it is normal to poison us. That is the official courtroom statement of Coca Cola Bottling Company of Nigeria. However, the Lagos High Court under Justice Adedayo Oyebanji, was 'crying' when she gave judgement against Coca Cola, declaring them callous and negligent. She 'cursed the regulatory body NAFDAC for not carrying out proper laboratory checks on Coca Cola production in Nigeria. Now in the lists of dangerous health problems that are associated with this, Cancer was among, especially if the killer drinks are taken with Vitamin C tablets. She ordered Coca Cola to henceforth add a WRITTEN WARNING on Fanta and Sprite bottles that "this product must not be taken with Vitamin C." Now to my point, is it enough to just add warning signs while we die? What is warning sign to a hungry person? Nigerians are very hungry and do no care about a 1000 boldly written warnings! Should the regulating agencies not follow proper channels as those in foreign countries? It all boils down to the fact that the Nigerian government hates us!!! The government is mindful of the huge tax these evil companies pay to the detriment of its citizen's lives. In other climes, export products are the ones that suppose to have lesser quality, while those consumed internally are highly qualitative. Is there any more wonders why strange sicknesses are dealing with Nigerians? God please help us!

sasko:Swear if you have ever paid tithe in your life! You just want to be noticed. |
shukuokukobambi:I laugh at the phrase: continue on the "current trajectory of the country". So the Vice President is truly the best driver who never was but at the slightest opportunity he had, showed the way on how the ship should be stirred? Na waooh, you just insulted the President! |
This is really bad and should not be swept under the carpet. No matter who the big man is, he should be brought to face the law. And the policemen... |
Cry Of A Corper Brutalized In Zamfara WHO WILL HEAR, AND NOT CRY? The entire corps members serving in Kaura Namoda, Zamfara state are bleeding out purple blood. Our hearts are thumping out: strong rhythms of pain. Our dignity has been trampled and mangled with reckless impunity. God! Today a corps member, Michael, serving his fatherland through sweat and bile; rough roads, hunger, merciless weather; and the shame of 19800 in the face of a smothering economy. Michael---serving in Nasara Standard Academy perceived as the shining light in a tottering secondary education system in Kaura Namoda--- was today brutalised, manhandled and reduced to nothingness by a brainless team comprising of the richest man in Kaura Namoda and his equally wanton boys. What was his crime? Michael had punished his student who happens to be this man's ward. A simple kneel down. Michael who had nurtured these block heads with patience and love. Michael, who had taught with empty stomach till letters on the chalkboard danced like rampant music notes before his eyes. For all of us like Michael, who have stretched the capacities of our strengths and sensibilities to serve a stifling system. For all the ' under the sun and in the rain', what have we gotten as reward? This notorious man, clenching his cash ridden fists, recruits the help of the police and in that shameless trotting of Zombies, storms Nasara Academy to crucify Michael like a criminal. He was punched like a sack of millet and stripped of humanity. He was beaten, beaten, and again beaten like he stole karats of gold in a jungle market. O God! My fingers are itching, and it's like they will drip blood. Michael was driven to the Police Station where the real torture awaited him. They removed what was left of his pride as a Man serving his country. Then, they flogged and flogged him, and when their energy sapped out, the Evil of a man threw wads of naira notes about, and refueled their animalism. Michael was a heap of sorrow and a container of hot painful tears. As some of Michael's colleagues arrived and tried to raise their voices against the escalating reign of heartlessness; the Police men, some apparently drunk, threatened with pointed rifles, slapping and pushing them.... Hear me if you are a corps member in Kaura Namoda! We have been abused to our bones. We are now just remnants of pride sliced into irredeemable pieces. Our hearts have been pierced by hot pellets of searing pain. Our heads are now buried in shame. The little essence of our ghostly existence has been thoroughly erased. We are now empty, just plain empty. Who will hear this and not cry? How can we move about when our sinews are depleted? Who will walk the long and dusty paths to schools to teach? Who will serve the masters under a sun that burns through skin and fluid? Who will hear this and not cry? Nothing has been done. The engineer of this massive evil is an untouchable. A stinkingly rich sacred goat. He has played ping pong with our dignity and thinks he will get away with it because he is rich. Because our society is rotten and deceased of sense. Because our policeman are a bunch of kitted area boys. Because 'money' has shredded the spines of our moral make-up. Michael is lying in a police cell, writhing in raw pain---- a soul beaten beyond repair. He has been physically wounded but more serious is the mental injury. But he is not alone. We are all wounded like Michael and our soul is burning from strife. Who will hear this and not cry? We therefore call on: The state Government; The State Coordinator NYSC; The Emir of Kaura Namoda; The Commissioner of Police; Every Khaki and Jungle boot in Zamfara state and Nigeria as a whole. Let us roar and be heard. Tell the next person to tell another. Let our tales of woe reach the peak where justice crouches. The brutalisation of Michael in a land where he is vulnerable and hapless will not go without notice. Justice must be done. Corps members must be protected. Our dignity must be restored.
