Kano cannot be ranked as more prosperous than the other states highlighted. Kano is just a state that at has high population rates with a huge majority of which fall below the poverty line . The population of Kano is huge liability to the government and Nigeria at large hence the high rate of Almajiri

Buhari keep giving some people reasons to swallow their own bitter pills. Politicians from the South East especially those from PDP extraction invented a propaganda using the Fulani Hersdmen and how Buhari hates the region and then sold it to almost everyone in the region. They all foolishly bought it and are spreading it across board while the politicians keep cashing in. Buhari has repeatedly showed that he hates not the South East through the construction of many projects. I usually challenge anyone to tell me at least 3 projects the Goodluck Jonathan (that doesn't hate the South East) administration completed in the South East in his 6 years as president and I'll tell you the 5 Buhari has done in 5 years.

Of course, the whole world knows that when you want to get something done, you must look for an Igbo man/woman to fix it. WTO is currently on death throes and only the midas touch of an Igbo person can resusitate it. Ask OBJ he will tell you. Ask yourself also, you will know that anything good Nigeria has ever achieved came through an Igbo man/woman. The few gains OBJ boasts of came only through the Igbos: the banking consolidation and reforms that made Nigerian banks strong were carried out by CHARLES SOLUDO. The $36 billion Paris club debt cancellation was only possible because an Igbo woman was the minister of finance, and best of all The GSM revolution was also carried out by an Igbo man ERNEST NDUKWE.

For the oldies, you will remember when the Nigerian super eagles were a club to beat in the early 1990s, during the time of Westerhof and you know why it was so then, because out of the 22 players about 15-18 players were Igbos. You remember Kanu Nwankwo, JJ Okocha, Amokachie, Oliseh Sunday, etc.. These were players that come once in a life time.

The insistence of Buhari not to name Igbos in sensitive positions of his govt is the major reason there's mass hunger in Nigeria. Only us Ndigbo have the mental and God given ability to achieve big changes.

This is something the world noticed and they are trying to tap into our blessings, that's why you see Igbos recently holding high sensitive positions globally. And now God is about to show mercy on Nigeria, with an Igbo presidency. Personally, I would have loved Ndigbo to call out of Nigeria, so that Hunger and strife will deal with the rest of Nigerians, but the merciful God doesn't want that, and this is the reason he made sure Igbos remained in Nigeria. But God hath said it's enough! And he wants to show Nigeria mercy with an Igbo president, because he knows only the Igbos have the full mark of redemption and they are the only people that can bring positive changes to nigeria.

It doesn't matter what anybody says or does, Ndigbo will rule Nigeria in 2023! And as anyone can see the political realignments have started favoring Igbos - as everyone now wants to famzy with the good people of God!

It's people like you that give the impression that we Igbos are chest beaters and make too much noise over nothing. Must you gloat? Just tp remind you that there are countless of Yorubas making wakes to abroad.

always talking about "one indivisible country". Part of the reason why Nigeria is this way is because we aren't honest with ourselves. We enjoy living in denial. We all know the people that make up the entity called Nigeria feel no love for themselves but we enjoy living the lie. Nigeria is not the only multi-enthic country living together, Malaysia is also a multi-enthic country that lives in enthic harmony with one another. The reason Malaysians feel love and patriotism towards their country is because the leader structured the country is such a way that every ethnic group is carried along with no one feels marginalized. That's why it's possible for them to conduct a referendum and there'll be a higher possibility that they'll remain as one. This is something the Nigerian government can never dare. it's their worst nightmare. They know we are all forcing love amongst ourselves. they failed to carry every ethnic group along giving the world the illusion of a country that is firmly united.
Buhari's administration has successfully heightened the discord to all whole new level, far worse than the civil war. making it look this country belongs to a section of the people while the other "5%" can wrought in hell. No wonder everybody in the south of Nigeria secretly nurse the idea of secession in their heart and waiting for the perfect time to implement it.

Well then i must commend how well they've been able to raise revenue internally. What i don't want to see is how folks here in nairaland compare Lagos with other states. There shouldn't be any comparism. Compare ourselves with our peers abroad, that's how you measure progress.

Of course you should be able to raise enough revenue internally considering how explosive the population is. This is the melting pot of Nigeria. The heartbeat of commerce and industry. I wasn't expecting anything less. Just stop comparing yourself with other states because they don't have the population to compete with you.
You are a mega city. Should be competing with Tokyo, Beijing, New-york, Shanghai. those cities have huge population and they are the melting pots of their respective countries

All those people comparing Lagos with Edo and Abia are very cynical. It's like comparing London with Porthmouth or New York with South-Carolina. They don't match. The former is considered as a 'mega city' with a huge population having lots of activities that generates massive income for government unlike the latter that's still a growing town. Lagos is meant to be comparing herself with other city that has attained 'mega-city' status like Tokyo, New York, Shanghai and Mumbai.
It's pitiful that Lagos is considered the least among her peers in terms of organization and infrastructure. But some folks are here comparing Lagos with Edo and Abia, states whose major city aren't up to 3 million in population. It's very ignoble of you folks
