obixcel:When has Trump ever countered Putin publicly in his life. Trump was Putin's bîtch throughout his 4 year reign. |
obixcel:Could your personal Lord and savior stand shoulder to shoulder with Putin on any issue? Trump could not stand shoulder to shoulder with Kim Jung Un not to talk of Putin. |
obixcel:At least it was Putin spewing his propaganda before world media. In Helsinki, Putin did not need to spew his propaganda before the world media, Trump did it for him. |
MalcoImX:To us in the south a ban is the best way to stop the destruction of farmers livelihood and protection of their lives. I bet with more Fulanis in the North, haven't they seen it as a feasible solution. It not our business how Fulanis in the north feels. After all most southerners in the south were not happy with the alcohol ban in the north. A governor job is to secure the safety and wellbeing of his people who elected them into office. Regarding cows not having a right graze on your land without your permission, whose permission do you require to set up your spare parts business in Lagos or Kano? You are required by law to obtain permission before setting up spare parts shop or any other business in Lagos or Kano. If government is run properly and lazy governors don't depend solely on Niger Delta oil, they should have been taxing spare part businesses. Besides spare parts business rent shops and confine themselves to those shops. They don't insist on displaying their wares in your compounds or homes, and then kill you for refusing. If the north bans street trading, they have my full support. But you cannot ban people from doing business in the shops they rent. |
MalcoImX:You are being insincere. The problem people have with Fulani herdsmen is not grasses. It's trespassing on other people's lands and properties and destroying their crops and sometimes harvested foods. It's now taken a more dangerous dimension of killing farmers themselves and attacking their villages. Cows don't have the rights to eat grasses on my land without my permission. |
MalcoImX:As a Niger Delta man, gin has a cultural heritage in ceremonies and religious obligations. |
MalcoImX:False equivalence. Selling expired drugs is illegal all over Nigeria. If the north bans the sale of fake drugs, every right thinking person will support it. Also a ban on the sale of okrika can be justified for health and economic reasons. Although I am not sure such powers reside with state governments. But the federal government can ban the importation and selling of okrika, and they would be a justified. Same with spare parts. the importation and sale of fake spare parts can be banned for economic reasons. This is because people are being scammed of their hard earned money. Open grazing is another thing altogether. The nigerian constitution vests power over lands on the state governments. The federal government only has powers over lands in the federal capital territory and some coastal limits and water ways. A state government is the one that allocates state lands. If a governments says they don't want animals roaming their lands, whether cows, chickens, dogs or cats, it's within their jurisdiction. If state northern governments place a ban on spare parts, what then happens to all the cars in the north when they need repairs. Do car owners travel to southern Nigeria just to buy brake pads? Note that sale of cow and meat was not banned. It was cows and Herdsmen disturbing the peace all over southern Nigeria that necessitated the ban. Now answer this question - WHY ALWAYS FULANI? Fulani have had decade long problem in southern kaduna, Jos, Benue and now all over the south. You guys needs to do some soul searching. Even Major Okar wanted to excise you guys from Nigeria, but then he did not receive the support of other Nigerians. |
GalaticHorde:Remember democrats did not win with a clear majority. The Senate is 50 - 50 and hold only a slight majority in the house. Also remember Trump gathered 73 million votes. So the democrats cannot disregard Republican voters and concerns. |
Buzx:I must admit I am new to crypto, as I had avoided it since the failure of earlier digital currencies more than 10 years ago - ie e-gold, liberty reserve, etc. But recently I realized that cryptos are here to stay, and so I just started getting involved. Having said that, the only way I see to hack a crypto currency driven by block chain technology is by obtaining the password and keys through a phishing attack or getting it directly from the wallet owner by force. I don't think the servers holding the transaction ledgers can be broken into as the information is stored in multiple servers and computers, and a brute force hacker would have to hack all the computers. I might be wrong and I would appreciate some education. When it comes to "Hacking" it doesn't have to be when you use brute force or something like that. They're lot of ways hacking can take place and they're different types of hacks.Still sounds like a phishing attack. The thing is, the whole world of crypto, blockchain and decentralized finance is relatively new and still needs a lot of improvement. Those who are into it now are regarded as the early adopters and need to tread with caution. Crypto is not hack-proof. Blockchain is just a word, and they're a lot of Blockchains out there. Some are very secured, while some have security issues.Even the US government don't have the skills or tools to hack Bitcoins, else they would have caught the criminals that blackmailed colonial pipelines and rendered the US without petrol for almost a week. Colonial pipelines had to pay over $4 million in bitcoins and the money was never recovered. Yes, EFCC would have tortured the guys to get access to their bitcoin accounts. Have a nice day. |
GalaticHorde:The Republicans would certainly make it a huge issue. In fact that might be the only talking point going into the mid term elections. Tucker Carlson and Fox news would not talk about anything else. If the Republicans can support Trump to hand over the kurds who actually helped them to defeat ISIS to Erdogan, you think it's ordinary translators that the Republicans would care about. |
EnlightenedUFO:He simply cannot. He needs to not only keep his Democratic base, but also need to make some inroads into the Republican base and most importantly independents, as he most certainly will be seeking re election. Right now immigration is a very risky topic. |
EnlightenedUFO:It's because of the current anti immigration mood in the US. Republicans have so demonized immigrants and immigration so much that it has become a political weapon. Even genuine refugees are disliked by the US public. Biden and the democrats are being very cautious of issues that has to do with immigration. |
NarcoPolo:Much ke? The national treasury will not see any of the seized cryptos. First cryptos are virtually banned from the Nigerian banking system and CBN does not have a crypto wallet. |
basilico:It's a pity you are ignorant of how democracy works and stubbornly refuse to get some education. In a proper democracy not one vote can be invalidated without going going through the legal process, except the error or fraud is from the voter himself/herself. After the voter votes and the votes tallied and certified, no other excuse is allowed to invalidate the vote. That's why agents of all parties are present at all election venues and all parties sign off on the results. If there is any error on the side of the officials, the voter cannot be punished for the incompetence of all others up the line. That's how elections are organized, even in shit hole Nigeria. Do you expecting cyber ninja or the Republican Senate to invalidate elections in whole counties is a fantasy or better hallucination. If there is any error in chain of custody or any other administrative error after the results had been declared, it can only be corrected for the next election, it can never flip the results of the last elections in favour of Trump. |
wink2015:Don't mind them. They are seizing people's funds without a court order. How do they know that funds are gotten through fraud? They can only get to access to people's crypto wallets by torture and blackmail. |
Kubernetes:We are talking about crypto currency and you are talking about BVN and software.. Cryptos run on blockchain technology which is virtually impossible to hack. |
Maxymilliano:Don't mind them. How did he know the cryptos were proceeds of fraud, when crypto transactions cannot be traced. It's even more astonishing how they are able to recover funds from crypto accounts of others. Most probably they tortured people into revealing their passwords and keys. Finally what's happens to the seized crypto? Since cryptos are not officially recognized by the CBN and only very few people has access to the crypto accounts, it means only them know how much is in the accounts and only them can transfer funds out if the accounts. |
EnlightenedUFO:I am a UFO skeptic. I used to be a believer, but as I grew older it became to make less and less sense. Don't get me wrong. There most probably is life elsewhere in the large expanse of the universe. The problem is them travelling the tens or even thousands of light years to get to us. Except there is some unknown physics we are not aware of yet that allows superluminal travel, travelling between stars is impossible. UFOs might be exactly what is connotes - UNIDENTIFIED. It's not necessarily of extra terrestrial origin. |
Sunnybay7:It's most likely the after effects of Covid. Covid infections are suspected to have long term cardiovascular effects long after recovery. |
raumdeuter:I believe it was not so much of a problem pre Obama. Before Obama Republicans and Democrats worked together in the interest of the country. During Obama, the legislature became highly polarized along party lines which also reflected in the mood of the country. Then Trump came and moved it several notches. Now there is nothing like bipartisanship. If one party proposes a bill, the other automatically opposes no matter how beneficial the bill is to the whole country. Trump was virtually ruling by executive orders. Same with Biden for now. I doubt any bill can pass through the legislature and be approved by the president. |
dinak1:The same format was used for my wife yesterday. She operates a small eatery. A woman called yesterday to place an order for 1500 cupcakes and 3 celebration cakes. She told me to help her prepare a quotation, which I promptly did. To my surprise she said the quotation was approved without any negotiations. The job was to be for a big company to be used for charity. Today, the lady that called yesterday said she and her boss are coming to the office to discuss mobilization. To my surprise my wife told me that they need 30 gallons of hand sanitizers also, a special kind of hand sanitizer called Solen Point Made in Germany. The person that contacted us said we should contact the supplier to get the price and then add N60,000 which will be shared between my wife and her. Oboy, see excitement on both of us. We quickly left to the office to prepare for their arrival. She gave the name of the company that sells the sanitizer as Esteed Nigeria Limited and the name of the markething manager is pastor Peter Ayodele. She also insisted that the boss would need to see a sample. When my wife called the so called marketing manager, he said the price is N155,000 per Gallon. The problem is that they don't give out samples anymore because people take the samples and adulterate their product. After my excitement wore off a bit. I started thinking that his whole deal is not making sense. Besides I asked my wife who will sponsor the whole deal. The company selling the sanitiser would not release N4million worth of product without full payment. I asked if the company that's ordering the hand sanitizer will pay before receiving the product. It just not wasn't making any sense to me. So I decided to Google the company and product, and it brought me here. Pure scam. |
Kokobilo87:Fighter ko, warrior ni. Trump is a coward. He has never been known to be involved in a physical fight, even when he was young. He ran away from the draft by presenting fake medical report. He had always been protected by his wealthy father. He employs other to do his fighting ( and crimes). |
DissTroy:I understand and appreciate your point. But you really cannot blame the individuals, the blame squarely lies in the political climate that has been created and nurtured over the years. And I suspect it will get worse, much worse. Let me elaborate. Before now politics was a clash of ideas and ideology. Politicians sell their ideologies and get followership based mainly on ideologies - not emotions, not racism, not class, not hate. But politicians have discovered that people respond better to emotions than ideology, and so started concentrating on whipping up emotional sentiments. And what are the most powerful emotional sentiments? - hatred, fear and nationalism. This necessitated creating or identifying an enemy to fear and hate. Democrats became enemies of Republicans and not just political opponents. Muslims became enemies of Christians, Christians became enemies of Atheists, agnostics, gays, liberals, etc. So much hate has pervade the world. Trump used this strategy very effectively. To win elections he demonized his opponents and works his supporters to a frenzy. He did it to his opponents during the Republican primaries, he demonized Hillary Clinton so much that even democrats began to hate her. He demonized immigrants, Mexicans, blacks, minorities, LGBTs, etc. He worked his supporters so much that they are prepared to murder Trump's opponents, as witnessed on January 6. Trump's cults supporters here like basilico, benalvino2, obixcel are ready to hate people who don't support him and maybe harm them if they get the opportunity. In Nigeria the relation between PDP and APC is one of hatred. Between Igbo and Yoruba and Fulani is one of hatred. Between Muslims and Christians is one of hatred. This hatred that was hitherto negligible has been amplified by politicians for political capital. Kanu employed this hatred in the beginning to energize young angry igbo youths, and it was very effective. He promoted hatred of Yorubas, Fulanis, Muslims, northerners and even fellow igbos. It's only recently he has mellowed down. |
puzzlegate:You need to buy a better phone that can post on nairaland without breaking or multiple posts instead of the pkalasa phone you are using. Typical IPOB youth. |
puzzlegate:At least we are certain Buhari is far more sensible that you. INDIGENOUS PEOPLE OF BIAFRA is a meaningless term. You obviously have no idea what the term indigenous means before you even understand what biafra means. The term biafra has no meaning. Biafra was never a people. It was simply a term coined by Ojukwu for his two and a half year breakaway dictatorship from Nigeria. No tribe called biafra is indigenous to Nigeria. |
bozzyjoan:You need to change the class of igbos you move with. I have igbo friends and employees, my wife is igbo and so my in-laws are igbos. Very few of the igbos I know and interact with want biafra. Most just want a conducive environment and level playing ground to continue to do their business. I just watched Maurice Iwu on TVC a few minutes ago, and he says he is not interested in biafra. |
Sunday2021:Are you telling us than only Fulanis are the only people that can earn positions under President Buhari? That no other tribe out of the over 100 tribes in Nigeria have profiles or CVs that can match Fulanis? So you mean to tell me that only Fulanis have the best profiles in Nigeria to head all the security agencies, the EFCC chairman, custom's comptroller general, most heads of parastatals, etc? |
In one breadth President Buhari said his appointments are based on going through the ranks to get to the top, that appointments are based on seniority. But in the next breadth when questioned on why he appointed the current chief of army staff despite many other senior officers above him. He changed the argument to competence. This is like heads I win and tails you lose scenario. |
Tetehjewels:Buhari seems to be conflating IPOB with Igbos. This is the problem with Buhari, he sounds ignorant or deliberately mischievous. IPOB is not igbos and in fact only a small segment of igbos ( mainly frustrating or jobless youths in the the south east and abroad) are IPOB members, who don't even have much investments and properties. The vast majority of successful igbos with billions of dollars worth of properties all over Nigeria and the world are not members of IPOB. |
basilico:Rigged in by who? |
EnlightenedUFO:Forgive her, she thinks US is Nigeria where you are arrested first before even commencing investigations for an alleged crime. |
benalvino2:Nobody is disputing that government needs to regulate the media, especially social media. But banning a media site because it deleted one man's tweet is not regulation. It's immature emotional outburst. It's an ego trip. |
