Don't mind them. How did he know the cryptos were proceeds of fraud, when crypto transactions cannot be traced. It's even more astonishing how they are able to recover funds from crypto accounts of others. Most probably they tortured people into revealing their passwords and keys.

Finally what's happens to the seized crypto? Since cryptos are not officially recognized by the CBN and only very few people has access to the crypto accounts, it means only them know how much is in the accounts and only them can transfer funds out if the accounts.

During Obama, the legislature became highly polarized along party lines which also reflected in the mood of the country. Then Trump came and moved it several notches. Now there is nothing like bipartisanship. If one party proposes a bill, the other automatically opposes no matter how beneficial the bill is to the whole country. Trump was virtually ruling by executive orders. Same with Biden for now. I doubt any bill can pass through the legislature and be approved by the president.

They claim to want to purchase my small chops for their church program coming this Saturday, that chevron is organising it. They now want the same honourable Usman Galadima who called with fake Hausa accent and wanted to see the sample of the HANDSANITISER. That I should pay #75k to marketing manager and keep the sample for honourable to come and collect before paying me for my small chops.

I told them I can't pay that the company should send it and honourable will pay it on delivery, naso the company started bargaining that I should pay even 30k later 20k. I told Mrs Olaitan to send the money to them that they should remove it from the small chops money. Naso my people stopped calling o.

The same format was used for my wife yesterday. She operates a small eatery. A woman called yesterday to place an order for 1500 cupcakes and 3 celebration cakes. She told me to help her prepare a quotation, which I promptly did. To my surprise she said the quotation was approved without any negotiations. The job was to be for a big company to be used for charity.

Today, the lady that called yesterday said she and her boss are coming to the office to discuss mobilization. To my surprise my wife told me that they need 30 gallons of hand sanitizers also, a special kind of hand sanitizer called Solen Point Made in Germany. The person that contacted us said we should contact the supplier to get the price and then add N60,000 which will be shared between my wife and her.

Oboy, see excitement on both of us. We quickly left to the office to prepare for their arrival. She gave the name of the company that sells the sanitizer as Esteed Nigeria Limited and the name of the markething manager is pastor Peter Ayodele. She also insisted that the boss would need to see a sample. When my wife called the so called marketing manager, he said the price is N155,000 per Gallon. The problem is that they don't give out samples anymore because people take the samples and adulterate their product.

After my excitement wore off a bit. I started thinking that his whole deal is not making sense. Besides I asked my wife who will sponsor the whole deal. The company selling the sanitiser would not release N4million worth of product without full payment. I asked if the company that's ordering the hand sanitizer will pay before receiving the product. It just not wasn't making any sense to me. So I decided to Google the company and product, and it brought me here.

There are blacks who attack Trump and refuse to praise him when he helped get A$AP Rocky and the other black woman out of jail. They refused talking about it and slam him as a pest or doing it for photo op.

All of those and worse are seen on this thread. And, with the level of hatred I see peddled here, I have little doubt that if there was a chance to blackmail some persons for a crime they didn't commit, some persons here would do it.

It's why I cautioned Obixël last week not to try to release more personal details about himself. I have no doubt that one of the persons here would try to get him sacked. That's the level of hatred here. It's seeped into every argument and exchange.

I understand and appreciate your point. But you really cannot blame the individuals, the blame squarely lies in the political climate that has been created and nurtured over the years. And I suspect it will get worse, much worse.

Let me elaborate.
Before now politics was a clash of ideas and ideology. Politicians sell their ideologies and get followership based mainly on ideologies - not emotions, not racism, not class, not hate. But politicians have discovered that people respond better to emotions than ideology, and so started concentrating on whipping up emotional sentiments. And what are the most powerful emotional sentiments? - hatred, fear and nationalism. This necessitated creating or identifying an enemy to fear and hate. Democrats became enemies of Republicans and not just political opponents. Muslims became enemies of Christians, Christians became enemies of Atheists, agnostics, gays, liberals, etc. So much hate has pervade the world.

Trump used this strategy very effectively. To win elections he demonized his opponents and works his supporters to a frenzy. He did it to his opponents during the Republican primaries, he demonized Hillary Clinton so much that even democrats began to hate her. He demonized immigrants, Mexicans, blacks, minorities, LGBTs, etc. He worked his supporters so much that they are prepared to murder Trump's opponents, as witnessed on January 6. Trump's cults supporters here like basilico, benalvino2, obixcel are ready to hate people who don't support him and maybe harm them if they get the opportunity.

In Nigeria the relation between PDP and APC is one of hatred. Between Igbo and Yoruba and Fulani is one of hatred. Between Muslims and Christians is one of hatred. This hatred that was hitherto negligible has been amplified by politicians for political capital. Kanu employed this hatred in the beginning to energize young angry igbo youths, and it was very effective. He promoted hatred of Yorubas, Fulanis, Muslims, northerners and even fellow igbos. It's only recently he has mellowed down.

Believe me, in the years to come many other incumbents would use the Trump playbook to remain in power after losing elections. The people that toppled Gowon were Murtala, Danjuma, Yaradua, Dimka, Bisalla. Murtala, Bisalla and Dimka had been eliminated. There was no way OBJ would have remained in office beyond 1978. Remember Gowon was removed because he kept postponing handing over. Dimka and Bisalla were implicated in the attempted coup that killed Murtala.
It was so unusual for military to willingly leave power that OBJ was celebrated for that feat. Till today he remained the only military Head of state to willingly relinquish power.

But the same OBJ reluctantly relinquish power when he had actual power during his civilian administration. If not of serious opposition from both home and abroad, OBJ would probably be doing a 7th term by now.

It's the wish of every miliary ruler to Transit to civilian ruler at a point because they are always scared of the endless circle of military coups that could topple or even take their lives.

Either way, the world powers frown at military dictatorship and would at a point forced them to hand over to civilians.

Most military leaders transmute to civilian leaders for reasons you already stated. Most Arab leaders take that route. The worse is that they impose their sons after they die.

There is little world leaders can do outside sanctions and probably support another coup or insurrection. They would not send their soldiers to remove a military dictator.

The arguement is if Ironsi abolished the 4 Regions he met when he came in? He did not. All 4 Regions existed throughout Ironsi's rule and several months after he died. It was Gowon that used Decree 14 to abolish the 4 Regions, and replace them with 12 states.

Aburi came about a year after military rule was in place, it did not impose military leaders. However, Aburi gave the 4 Regions confederation status by allowing them to have their own Regional military. Do you know what sort power that is? To have your own military as a Region? I doubt if you even begin to understand that sort of autonomy.

Oba Akenzua and the other 3 Regions rejected Aburi, and what did they get?

In other words, the centre became too strong, the Regions were cut up into 12 weak unitary states. How could Oba Akenzua have preferred this over Aburi? What sort of person chooses a system that makes him weaker, over one that makes him stronger?

The military heads of the regions would still take their authority and orders from the head of state.

The Aburi accord would have had a chance to work only under a democratic environment, where the people are free to choose their leaders.

One more thing you failed to consider is that the two most powerful military officers at that time - Murtala and Danjuma did not attend the Aburi accord, meaning they disagreed with the whole negotiations. So even if Gowon decided to implement the accord against the wishes of the other regions, what stops Murtala and Danjuma of planing a coup to remove Gowon, and then issue another decree cancelling the whole accord. Thereby plunging us into the war.

It seemed that once the January 1966 coup took place, war was almost inevitable.

2) Aburi gave the 4 Regions a lot more powers than they had before the first coup. Infact, Aburi more or less made the 4 Regions a confederation because it gave them Regional Military.

How did Aburi give the 4 Regions / provinces more powers when it imposed military leaders on them? How did Aburi give the 4 Regions more powers when the federal government civil service that is responsible to the military head of state controls everything? Is it possible for the regions to have control of their own affairs without their own executives, legislature and civil service?

So it is mindboggling that an agreement that gave all 4 Regions so much autonomy is what Akenzua was against

But Akenzua had no problems with Gowon changing the Midwest Region to Bendel State, siezing their resources and abrogating the revenue sharing formular agreed at independence
