We have had pastors and evangelists as ministers and many senior officials who claim to be born again or righteous Christians. Were they all different of from the standard wicked and corrupt Nigerian? What of the thousands of G.Os, pastors, reverends, etc., are their conducts any different from other corrupt Nigerians. What is the use of a religion if it cannot reform the people or the society as a whole?

If If China, Norway and Japan are more righteous without religion - prayers, deliverance and fasting, then why do we need prayers, deliverance and fasting to make progress both individually and as a country?

The OP never said that the medical approach did not work. What she said was that she wanted an instant and permanent solution. This is because her brother had to be forced to take the prescribed drugs and the drugs were to be taken probably for the rest of his life. There are many medical conditions that require prescription drugs for the rest of your life in order to live a full life

As an example, I also have my own story. My wife's senior brother also died as a result of following spiritual advice over medical. He had serious heart problems and underwent open heart surgery in Italy. He was put on prescription drugs for life. On getting back to Nigeria he went to see T.B. Joshua. He was told that he was healed spiritually and told to throw all the drugs away. About 3 months after that he died in his house alone and was dead 3 days before his body was discovered.

Since Nigeria has one one the highest number of believers in the world, as evidenced in the largest number of pastors, evangelists, prophets and prophetesses and churches in every street, how come we have the poorest development indices in the world? Like poorest health indices, poorest corruption indices, poorest economic indices, etc. Should we not be better than non religious countries like China, Norway and Japan?

Prayer has been shown to be useless in solving personal and national challenges. It seems the more we pray, the worse the problem becomes. We have been praying for prosperity since the early 80, Nigeria and Nigerians has been progressively getting poorer since. We have been praying for good health and healing since and our health situation nationally has taken an alarming downturn.

Since prayer has not been working, does it not make sense to start applying scientific and practical solutions to our personal and national problems instead of wasting most of our time in churches, mosques, fellowships and prayer sessions.

Only a mad man does the same thing over and over again without success and then expect a successful result.
