Nbote:Na wa o, are you guys deaf. Which one concerns you with who the Fulanis cheat, did they ask you to come and defend them. This is the same way you joined Warri and other non Igbo lands in your map. Igbos are now a race of VOTRON, defender of the universe. |
Here is an example of what will happen if Biafra is a achieved under acrimonious conditions; The UAE said in a statement it was cutting off all ties with Qatar. It also ordered Qatari citizens to leave the country within 14 days and banned its citizens from travelling to Qatar.I want to show IPOB youths that are thinking that Nigeria cannot expel all Biafrans because of UN, OAU or ECOWAS in the event of an acrimonious separation that they are living in Lalaland. Igbo's need to tell IPOB and KANU to tone down on the hatred and insults. |
plessis:Senseless post. You just copied the companies I already named as belonging to Igbos and made them 70% of all companies in Lagos. Two companies make 70% of companies in Lagos? That is a joke. I can name the ten biggest Igbo owned manufacturing companies in Lagos, I am sure you can't. No Igbo owned company makes the top ten manufacturing companies in Lagos, I doubt any would make top 20. Here is a list of top ten manufacturing companies in Nigeria ( all based in Lagos). 1. Dangote Group 2. Nigerian Breweries. ... 3. Nestle Nigeria. ... 4. Flour Mills of Nigeria. ... 5. Unilever Nigeria. ... 6. PZ Cussons. ... 7. DUFIL Prima Foods. ... 8. Lafarge Cement. - Based in Ogun state. 9. British American Tobacco 10. Nexans. http://nigerianfinder.com/top-10-manufacturing-companies-in-nigeria/ ... And we have not even mentioned other mega companies like Nigerian Bottling company, 7up Bottling company, Cadbury, Spintex, Guinness Nigerian, etc. |
felicitywe:I have lived all over Lagos, so I know Lagos very well. I disputed Yakassi submission that Igbos own 70% of industries in Lagos. I mentioned Isolo because that is the only industrial Estate in Lagos with sizeable Igbo owned industries, the rest have very little. I can name up to 5 Igbo owned industries along the Isolo axis. It is easy to know the group with the highest industries in Lagos, just look at the brand of product you use or consume everyday. You will see that PZ, Honeywell, Proctor and Gamble dominate most household items. Igbos Dominate drug manufacturing with companies like Orange drugs, Richy gold, and Emzor, but here also you have big international pharmaceuticals like GlaxoSmithKline and Swiss pharma. Most slippers and rubber products are manufactured by Chinese and Indian companies. Noodles is dominated by indomie and Dangote. Beer is dominated by Nigerian bottling company and Guinness. Now name the Igbo owned manufacturing companies in Lagos that make up 70% of manufacturing companies in Lagos. |
Tanko Yakassi is highly misinformed, there is no way Igbo's own 70% of Industries in Lagos. If he said they own 70% of commercial activities, I might agree. There are are about 5 industrial estates in Lagos namely; Ikorodu (Odogunyan), Ikeja, Isolo, Ilupeju and Agbara Industrial Estates. I live right in the middle of Ikorodu industrial estate, with mega industries by the Chinese and Indians, examples are PZ, Nutricima, Spintex, African steel, Phoenix, chiki-chiki, and lots of others I cannot remember any owned by igbos. I hardly know any owned by igbos. The biggest poultry within the estate, Zarm Farm is owned by a Yoruba man. Even one of Dangote's companies is located in Ikorodu. I know that there are lots of Igbo manufacturing outfits within Isolo estate but there are lots of foreign owned manufacturing companies too. |
TonyeBarcanista:Na wa wo, You have taken up the unpaid role as the spokesman and defender of the north. Please read up the meaning of personal staff. These should be people he is most comfortable working with. All previous administrations, including President Jonathan had appointed their personal staff from their region if not their ethnic stock. This is not a new thing, and that is the trend all over the world. Tell me how many Blacks, Latinos or Native Americans President's Trump's appointed as his personal staff. This is someone who appointed his daughter and her husband as his most trusted personal staff without as much as a whimper from the American population. If this was done in Nigeria, i am sure you will call for a civil war. |
Is Imo and Abia not currently collecting 13% derivation for the few gallons of crude they are adding to the federation account? Is Imo and Abia not already included in the Nigerdelta Development Commission? Oh, you want Imo and Abia to be both in the NDDC and SEDC. See greed. How much VAT does IMO and Enugu generate? How many traders pay VAT? The total VAT generated by both is not up to that generated by one local government in Lagos. Lagos alone generate up to 70% of the total VAT in Nigeria. This one that you hate the Yoruba's so much and insult Yorubas in even in matters that does not involve Yoruba, if you get your Biafra, are you saying not one Igbo person will remain in Yoruba land? With your level of hatred for Yoruba, are you going to sever all relationships and contacts with the Yoruba's. I have never seen people advocate for independence based on hatred of others. |
Odingo1:Your head dey there. I honestly do not understand the reason the SW were canvassing for a special status for Lagos. Lagos already has more money ( allocations + IGR), than all other states, Lagos is more credit worthy in the international credit market that all other states in Nigeria. Lagos is about the only state that is developing infrastructurally and in other developmental induces in Nigeria, and you want to take more money from our meagre earnings and give to Lagos. Lagos is already accused of under developing the rest of the country because over 70% of non oil economic activities is concentrated in Lagos. So pumping more federal money in Lagos would lead to further drain of other states of their productive population, further exasperating the population explosion of lagos and its associated social problems. What we should be advocating for is for the creation of special status for one state in each region in order to develop it to a mini "Lagos", that way development would be spread evenly among the regions and relieve the pressure on Lagos. |
Rossikki:I am highly disappointed with your mindset, you talk as if you are still living in 19th century colonial Africa. I am not dictating to anybody how they choose to live their lives. We agreed to come together as a nation to help each other to advance the wellbeing and development of our people. Socio political entities are not form so that one part can depend on another perpetually for survival. Even within a family, the younger and weaker members will eventually have to fend for themselves. You still hold the view that natural resources leads to wealth creation and thus rich countries, but this is untrue. Countries depending on natural resources will eventually turn out poor and unstable. Most of the failed and failing states of the world are countries with huge natural resources. The only viable and sustainable long term resource is the human resources and good education and good health is the measure of human resources. If oil in the nigerdelta should dry up today, I would never advocate depending on oil or other mineral resources from other regions to sustain my people. We survived well before oil and we will survive better after oil. I expect states like sokoto to use the oil money that we dash them to built up themselves, build up their social infrastructures, so that they can be self reliant, and not perpetually depend on our oil or any other mineral resource to survive. This is what UAE and other gulf states had done, they did not use their oil windfall to build thousands of mosques, they invested in modern infrastructures, so much so that they do not rely on oil anymore. |
Is it by force that they must embrace IT, industrialisation, materialism, commercialisation, to the detriment of their spiritual practices? It is their right to determine what is most important to them.If we were not operating a skewed federation where money earned in other regions are used to fund the idiosyncrasies of other regions, it will not have concerned me. Furthermore, the effect of illiteracy and poverty in one region is not only isolated to the affected region but is felt all over the federation in the form of terrorism, armed robbery, and other social vices. If Sokoto state earns it own money and decides to built sand castles with it, then nobody has the right to complain, but where we dash Sokoto money to develop itself so it can be independent, but decides to waste it on unproductive ventures, then I have the rights to ask questions. |
olayinka63:Are you aware of the appalling developmental indices of sokoto state? Poverty rates, infant and maternal mortality rates, poverty rate, literacy level, etc. Meningitis is still killing people in Sokoto, and you ate talking about living in Sokoto being less expensive. The N566 million would go a long way into solving some of these problems, instead of wasting in on building mosques. |
HiddenShadow:So you guys want to depend solely on Nigerdelta oil and Lagos VAT for your development and survival? And you guys will have the audacity to label others parasites. |
Agumbankembu:The Senate on Thursday passed a bill to establish the North-East Development Commission (NEDC) to be partly funded by; 1. 3 per cent of Value Added Taxes accruable to the Federal Government. 2. 15 per cent of allocation to the states 3. 50 per cent deduction of the ecological fund due to the six North Eastern states. Read more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/10/senate-passes-bill-establishing-north-east-development-commission/ Please note; About 70% of total VAT is generated from Lagos. Allocation to the states and ecological fund is hand outs of oil revenue from the nigerdelta. Now answer the question; where will the SEDC get its funding? |
Maduawuchukwu:I am from Warri, an oil producing community. These so called Regional Development Communities are just new ingenious avenues for political elites to get a bigger bite of the national cake. They just want more oil monies from the nigerdelta. They are not debating how monies will be generated within the regions to fund the development agenda. Even the NDDC that receives billions of naira carries out very little actual developmental projects, it has become a source of political patronage and favours. This is chapter part 5 of the NDDC act on how the NDDC will be funded; Part VThat is why I asked; how are all these proposed development commissions going to be funded? |
TheFreeOne:I still ask, where are the regions hoping to get funds to run the development commissions, I hope they are not hoping to milk the Nigerdelta region. The States in a region can contribute to fund their regional development commission, the regions can tax companies operating within the region as done in the nigerdelta. The Niger delta development commission NDDC get most of its fundings from the oil companies operating in the region. |
Maduawuchukwu:No problem, but where are the regions hoping to get funds to run the development commissions, I hope they are not hoping to milk the Nigerdelta region. The States in a region can contribute to fund their regional development commission, the regions can tax companies operating within the region as done in the nigerdelta. The Niger delta development commission NDDC get most of its fundings from the oil companies operating in the region. |
KingEbukasBlog:What evidence do you have that Hitler was ever an atheist? When did he convert from Christianity to atheism and why? In one breath you deny Mark Zukerberg who once declared himself atheist, that he was never an atheist, and in another you ascribe Hitler who had never described himself as an atheist as one. The ostensible Christian leaders who killed obviously did not do it because of Christ - Christ deprecated such reprehensible acts - they killed for political gain . Like the leader and warlord of the Taiping rebellion in China , Hong Xiuquan , used Christianity for manipulation just to win a civil war . He claimed he was the brother of Christ .You are still jumbling lies and half truths to fit your narrative. When theist leaders kill, you say the do not kill for God but for political reasons, but when atheist leaders kill, it is not for political reasons but because of unbelief in God. Does that even sound sensible? It is religious leaders that actually kill others who hold contrary beliefs to please their Gods. The Christians killed millions of Native south Americans, because they serve other Gods and not Jesus. They were forcefully brought to Jesus. The Mohammedans killed millions all across the middle east and Africa for their God and they still do it even today. The Jews justified the massacre of Amalekites, Philistines and other neighbours because they were unbelievers, and you can come here and say theist leaders do not kill for their gods. |
jumper524:Which world respects you? Respect you for exactly what? Respect you for Boko Haram, Fulani Herdsmen and religious riots? Respect you for extreme poverty and the almajiri system? Which part of the north is there peace? The most peaceful region of Nigeria today is the South West. |
FFKfuckedBIANCA:Because Church and Mosques make the masses more malleable to exploitation by politicians, religious leaders and royal fathers. The church and mosques will teach the masses that their poverty is the will of God and so absolve the politicians of all blame. Building of schools and other development infrastructures will make the people more informed and more self reliant and therefore prone to rebellion against their oppressors. |
adepeter26:Even though i agree that Ebuka often lie and present alternative facts to justify his hatred for atheist, he is right in that the S gene was an evolutionary response to malaria, although not a very efficient one. People with the AS genotype can go 5 years without coming down with Malaria, while people like me with AA can hardly go 5 months without having malaria. My cousin with SS had malaria once or twice in his lifetime, that i could remember. He died at 34 years. The biggest lie that Ebuka is propagating is promoting the idea that Hitler was an atheist when evidence shows Hitler embraced Christianity and disliked atheism. He blames atheism for all political killings by atheist leaders but fails to do the same for christian leaders. |
plaetton:It depends on how Biafra gains independence. If Biafra gains independence peacefully by mutual agreement, then the relationship between the will likely be cordial. On the other hand if Biafra secede acrimoniously or even through war, then Nigeria will likely ignore all protocols and niceties, and border adjustments will be a very difficult issue. There is no defined border of Biafra and Nigeria will never let go of Delta (south and central) and Edo, even rivers will be highly contentious. |
plaetton:You are making loads of assumptions here. The rights to allow foreigners into a country resides only in the government of that country. Nobody including ECOWAS or UN can force Nigeria to accept biafrans in the event of a split. Only negotiations and agreements between the countries will ensure nationals of each country can work and live in the other country. After BREXIT, the fate of Europeans living in Britain and British living in Europe is uncertain, it is after the brexit negotiations that their fate will be known. In the US, it is the courts that have stopped Trump from deporting all the "bad hombres" and banned all Muslims from entering the US, not any UN. |
I am confused. How come Reno Omokri is answering my first name? Is he actually an "Omere", an "oton Iwere"? Even his daughter's name, Tsola, is same with my second Son's name. |
This is the reason I hate debating with IPOB youths, you guys are so arrogant in your ignorance. You just spew bare face lies or maybe ignorance and use that to support your views and agitations. HiddenShadow:The government of Britain is under labour party? Do you even know the current British prime minister? The British people now are pro-ReferendumProof the British people are pro referendum. Do the ordinary British people even know what Biafra means? Do you know that some pro-Biafran British Parliament members (Senators) brought the issue of Biafra before their parliamentWhat do you Mean by parliament members? The British parliament consists of two houses - house of commons and house of Lords. It is the house of Lords that can be likened to senators. How many parliament members are pro Biafra? The house of commons has over 300 members. Nnamdi Kanu has brilliantly trap Nigerians because of Buhari's stupidityHow? A kanu that had been begging for his freedom, that is under bail? Jonathan wisely avoided him but Buhari foolishly arrested him.How can Jonathan avoid him when he said Jonathan is our brother. He was a Jonathan supporter so Jonathan cannot avoid him. Why do you think the FG hasn't re-arrested him after breaking all the useless bail conditionsIf the FG should rearrest him, it is people like you that will be crying all over the place. Kanu is just on bail, he will still go through trial. |
HiddenShadow:You are comparing Oranges to agbalumo. Indonesia was colonized by the dutch while East Timor was colonized by the Portuguese. On the Portuguese relinquishing power in 1975, Indonesia invaded East Timor and occupied the country. So Naturally, the East Timoreans will resist the invasion and rebel. It is logical that after 25 years of rebellion, the UN came in and organized a referendum to free East Timor from Indonesia. Now enter Nigeria that was allocated to Britain in 1884, It remained british property until it was handed independence in 1960. You think the UN can do anything in Nigeria without the permission of Britain? If you do no know, the Europeans still respect the 1884 boundaries they shared to themselves. The Bakassi episode should show you that. |
HiddenShadow:I can forgive your naivity. It may be due to high emotions and so unable to think thing clearly for now. How can you compare Nigeria to Indonesia. Nigeria has one crucial commodity - Crude Are you aware of the international forces that is interested in Nigeria? There is of course the British, then there are the Americans (who are even still interested in have a base in the Gulf of Guinea), you have the predatory French who are ready to pounce on the oil rich areas bordering Cameroon. Do not forget the Chinese who are looking to expand their influence into Africa, especially Nigeria. I almost forgot Iran, Saudi Arabia and other Arab states that wants to exert their influence in Nigeria. Please do not pray for a conflict, it might result in a kind of 'Mutually Assured Destruction' war, with different groups armed and supported by different international forces. Please never pray for a conflict |
Ogbuefi2020:You seem not to understand how the political elite operate. They tell the masses whatever they want to hear to get the support of the masses, but when they get to positions of authority they do something completely different. Imagine Prof Jerry Gana talking about restructuring, this is someone who had been milking this crooked structure all his life. Even Atiku claim to have had the "Damascus road" experience and seen the light of restructuring. Give him the presidency and see if he is truly born again. |
kingzizzy:If you say Restructuring is not possible because of difficult constitutional requirements, how do you then think secession will then be possible? The main hurdle to restructuring is not necessarily the constitution, it is our elites - both political and business elites from all tribes including Ndigbo. The elites of Nigeria are too pampered and enjoy huge advantages, they will not let go of these advantages willingly. If only the southern elites advocate for restructuring, believe me the north will start panicking and initiate negotiations. Now tell me how many national assembly members advocate for restructuring. Name just one Ndigbo son advocating for restructuring. Tell me one civil society group advocating for restructuring. Tell me just one party that has restructuring as part of its manifesto. NONE. |
“Whether that process is going to be an easy sale is a conjecture that should be left for deliberation. But one thing that is certain is the inevitable implication that abolishing states through restructuring process will certainly translate to the eventual multiplier effect of abolishing the state house of assembly and perhaps downsizing the National Assembly and probably the civil service and other related federal institution. This is the koko ofthe matter. The state executives, the state legislatures and the state civil services are too numerous considering the revenue accrued the nation. The states are simply a conduit for siphoning oil revenue from the Nigerdelta, they have no economic value. Up to 80% of total revenue plus borrowed money is used to maintain this structure, with little left for any physical development. Without this useless structure people like Abubakar Malami will be jobless and probably die of hunger. |
Ogbuefi2020:Which constitutional process? The Jonathan and even the Obasanjo conference were not constitutional. There was no Law or even budget supporting the conference. These two conferences were simply "Jamboree". At best they were advisory conferences, to advice the president on items to present to the National Assembly for constitutional amendments. |
pennywys:Who is the us? Some tribes in the nigerdelta has close affinity to the Igbos and they may choose to go along with the igbos if Nigeria breaks up. The Ijaws that I know have been fighting for a nigerdelta country. We the Itsekiris have a strong historical and cultural link with the Binis and the Yorubas, so it would make perfect sense to go with them in the event of a break up. Out of the three major ethnic groups in Nigeria, it is the Yorubas that had advanced our interests the most. We had gained nothing from the Hausas or even the igbos. |
pennywys:Itsekiris belong in Nigeria, but if the country should split, then we will prefer to go with the Yorubas and the Binis, never with the Igbos. |
