So you think say Urhobo go join Biafra? I'm an Urhobo and I know for sure that no Urhobo man will want to join Biafra. I can see you don't like the Urhobos and that is why you didn't say anything about their opinion.
I know the Urhobos will never join Biafra, their leaders have said so in many fora. I did not mention Urhobos because these IPOB youths will scream " you cannot talk for the Urhobos", so I was only speaking for my tribe.
How can you say I do not like Urhobos? Have you seen an Itsekiri man without Urhobos ties? My maternal grandmother is Urhobo.

That is what you think! That is what you think. Look, in PH right now, if you say something bad about IPOB or Nnamdi Kanu, you will find yourself in a deep hot 5hit, and you cannot tell me that all these people are from SE, go there and SEE things for yourself, don't stay in Ibadam and cast aspirations. The whole fuel has been here all along, all that was needed is just a small spark.
What concerns the Itsekiris with PH? Are the Itsekiris dragging land with the Igbos in PH? I really do not see the sense in this your post.

See Mr, i am a yoruba man. Why do some people believe if you support the disintegration of this country, then you automatically become igbo? I am from ilesha and i believe that all these ethnic superiority will not benefit us. If yoruba had a separate country, we will be assured that the people to rule will be yoruba and there will be nothing like ethnic sentiment(which will be peaceful). In nigeria, the hausas, yoruba, and igbos are all fighting to rule the country, tell me, what have we gained from all these?
I doubt Yoruba's having a separate country would eliminate ethnic sentiments and therefore lead to a peaceful country. There are lots of intertribal political conflicts within the Yoruba's, it has remained mainly unnoticed because it has been eclipsed by a bigger interethnic and interregional conflicts. Once the bigger inter ethnic rivalries disappear, the local rivalries would escalate.
In Ogun state there is fierce political rivalry between the Ijebus and Egbas. In Yoruba land generally, the Oyo axis is perceived to be too domineering. Even the Royal fathers are not left our of the unhealthy rivalries.
Remember during the first republic when the regions were semi autonomous, the SW was the most unstable.

Senseless and I'll thought out demands.

1. Declare May 30th, Biafra Memorial Day and ask the Senate to pass it as a law that every May 30th will be a public holiday. On this May 30th, acting President Osinbanjo will lead the commemoration of all Biafran fallen heroes and heroines, by laying a wreath at the National Square Abuja in their memory. Celebrate it like we do with Nigeria Airforces Remembrance Day. Biafran Fallen Heroes and Heroines are human too like their Nigerian counterpart.
Why May 30th? What makes may 30th special? Is that day Ojukwu,s, KANU or even the writer's birthday?
Why would Nigeria celebrate Biafran's remembrance day in Nigeria, with Nigeria's C-inC honouring biafran soldiers? Does that sound sane to you?

2. A committee should be set up by the Presidential Executive Council to go to SE and fact-find on all federal roads that need repair, expansion, and construction of new roads where needed.
Why only South East? Is it only the SE that has bad roads? Most Federal roads in the SS, SW and even the north central are in deplorable state.

3. All seaports and Riverport in SS and SE; Port Harcourt, Onne, Calabar, Warri and Onitsha should be reopened, funded and allowed to function to full capacity without interference.
The ports is extremely complex, first Portharcourt port and One ports are not closed, it is just that they are not operating in uptimal capacity. The rivers leading to warri and Onitsha ports needs to be dredged before large container ships can berth there.
Having said the above government's running of ports is outdated nowadays. Most ports in industrialized nations are run by private companies, as governments have been known not to run ports efficiently. So the best solution to me will be a sort of private - public partnership with private companies running the ports.
Also ports should not be built in isolation but as part of a general economic policy. Which ports will specialize in exports and which will specialize in imports? The export ports must be built with the expected export products in mind. We cannot continue to build ports to import dumped goods from Asia into the country, that would be recipe for economic doom.
4. All International Airports in SE and SS; Port Harcourt, Calabar, Enugu and Asaba should be funded and allowed to function to full international airport standard like Lagos and Abuja.
Bad idea. Most of the airports are economically unviable. The whole of the south east and south south does not require more than one standard international airport and one domestic airport. The expected traffic should be the main criteria for building airports and not politics.
The main transport infrastructure that should be build in the SE/SS and indeed throughout Nigeria should be rail. The masses use trains and not planes.
5. Earmark funds to support local manufacturers in Aba, Onitsha and Nnewi.
What do you mean by earmark? I hope you do not mean dash money only to people of Aba, Onitsha and Nnewi.
Financing of businesses, be it manufacturing, agricultural or services is a prerogative of the banks, the CBN can only help through fiscal or monetary policies.

6. Most importantly, restructure the oil and gas industry, where states will be allowed to managed their oil and gas resource, and pay tax to the center.
Ideal situation, but we have to physically restructure the federation first. It would lead to the collapse most states if implemented under this 36 state/ 774 local government structure.

Have to stop for now.

I coud have deleted that comment years ago when people started bugging but i chose not to because i want things to take it's course.

That statement was made just around the time that APC, south west chose a PDP house of reps member as opposed an APC one, so i made that statement with that in mind.

Now, on the issue of marginalization, i agree that everyone if marginalized but to what extent are the different groups marginalized? I quite agree that Igbos felt some sense of belonging under Jonathan but they were not given undue advantage over other groups like some people will have us believe. I've asked people to prove that Jonathan favoured Igbos over other majority group and they usually go numb. The only problem people who preferred the status quo had with Jonathan is that he was weakening their overwhelming dominance to accommodate other groups who had been marginalized for so long.

Anyways, i'm creating topic on it.
Afam, you are a very dishonest person. Please re-read your post below
This people are funny u know. Just i thought this people want to eat there cake and have it again

They all voted for ACN thus they want regional government ie fedralism

yet they still want the advantages of being in the mainstream politics

abeg make them go sit down angry

when it is time they should go meet tinubu there master
Then try and reconcile it with your explanation up there, it just does not make sense.
You agree that everybody is marginalized, but somehow you have a the right to determine the extent to which everybody feels marginalized. According to your marginalization meter, the extent Yoruba's felt marginalized under Jonathan was not enough to warrant attention.

You then told the lie that Yorubas voted ACN, and so do not have the right to cry marginalization and should be denied the advantages of being in mainstream politics - aka political appointments. Well for your information all Yoruba's States voted Jonathan with the exception of Ekiti, even at that Ekiti gave Jonathan the required 25%. Now what would you have said if all the Yoruba States gave Jonathan less than 5% as done by you guys to Buhari in 2015.

What concerns whoever the house elects as speaker with cries of marginalization? Why are you guys then crying marginalization today even though Ekweremadu is deputy Senate President?

I doubt people will ever take you serious again after reading your clear hypocrisy above

The Constitution of the Federal republic of Nigeria does NOT accommodate TWO PRESIDENTS at the same time!

This is an abberration
The constitution does indeed make provision for TWO "PRESIDENTS' at the same time. The constitution provides for an acting president and a substantive president. The fact that Buhari is in london does not remove the fact that he is still Nigerian president and is treated as such by all and sundry. It is only the "FUNCTIONS" of the president that is transfered to the vice/acting president, the POWERS of the presidents as C-IN-C remains with the president and is never transfered. The acting president can never be the commander in chief of the armed forces.

Ekiti on the other hand is too small to be an independent state, still don't understand why it was carved out of Ondo. The only reason history gives us is that Abacha wanted to repay Aluko, no economic basis.
So can't really blamed the stomach infrastructure governor, the funds ain't sufficient for anything else.
Thank you for understanding basic economics. 75% of states in Nigeria are not economically viable and just constitute a drain on the country. You know, this is actually one of the worst times to be an Igbo man as far as being part of the Nigerian entity is concerned. We know that since the end of the civil war the hate for the Igbo man has been engraved in the minds of the average Nigerian, from the west to the North and even to the South-south. Though the Igbos did a pretty good job despite the adversities by pulling themselves out of the rubble and from 1999, we started to some level of prosperity politically, even though i feel it wasn't enough considering the fact that we're part of the tripod upon which this nation was built. Atleast it was a good start.
Why is this the worse time to be Igbo in Nigeria? Because you lost out politically? At the same time could we say the last administration was the best time to be Igbo in the Nigerian entity? You are talking as all Igbos are politicians, as if Igbo traders, professionals, transporters and businessmen do not exist.

It is very annoying for an Igbo man to leave his village, thrive in Lagos, Abuja or Kano and still scream " the hate for the Igbo man has been engraved in the minds of the average Nigerian ". That is an insult to the average nigerian. You allege that Nigerians hate the igbos, but you guys are all over Nigerian working or doing business.

The bolded statement is the main reason South South tribes and other minorities of Nigeria get annoyed at the Igbo's and the other two majority tribes/ ethnic groups. You people feel you own Nigeria and the minorities are irrelevant. Nigeria was never built on the tripod of Igbos, Yoruba's and Hausa/Fulani's, The British amalgamated Northern and Southern Nigeria, later Nigeria was divided into three regions - Northern, southern and Eastern Nigeria, before a fourth, Midwestern Nigeria was added in 1963. There was never a time nigeria was divided among the Igbo's, Hausa's and Yoruba's, in fact the minorities had been fighting for their rights and recognition right from colonial days.

I will respond to your other preposterous submissions later.

Victorakats:
On what grounds was the lock out made? Was there any formal or official notification to that effect? Was there any warnings made prior to locking them out of their property?
On the grounds of threats to residents health and peace and maybe security.
If the church is infringing on the law and that infringement pose an urgent danger or threat, an official notification might not be needed.

If the government is not aware of the lock out, on who's orders was the lock out made?
The report says, on the orders of the estate chairman.
Did the owner of the property infringe on the laws of the estate by renting his apartment to a church organization?
Yes, the owner of the property must have broken several state laws by locating a church in a residential estate. Most probably, the church did not obtain permit to site a church in the estate and they most certainly are breaking environmental laws.

And why lock out redeem while leaving other churches?
Maybe redeem is the worst offender in terms of noise pollution and crowd control. Having said that, a crime cannot be used to justify another.
I'm only seeking for clarifications to help me understand what the law is trying to correct or the estate chairman's intentions.
Thank you
The chairman must have been receiving complaints from estate members and must have acted to protect the interest of estate members.

If you guys obtained your drivers license legitimately and studied the traffic laws, you will know that ordinary blowing your car horn in a residential area is a traffic offense.

Exactly!! sad All over the world, IOCs pay taxes to government. Amenities and infrastructure are then provided by the govt in such areas. This leaves the IOCs free to carry out their operations, with the communities acting as a watchdog to ensure their environment is not polluted, and toxic or harmful emissions are not released into their land or water systems. When this balanced relationship occurs, the IOCs are then able to contribute of their own freewill back to the communities in tangible, planned, sustainable and long-term ways. This current hostile antics of the communities hampers and reduces the ability of the IOCs to appropriately plan and empower their host communities, over a long period of time. undecided
I stopped commenting on this issue because it is a fruitless and frustrating venture trying to explain to Nigerdelta youths that the oil companies do not owe them free lunch. Please ask the person making mandatory for oil companies to provide them light, if they will pay for the Generators and fuel. Who will maintain the equipment used to supply them free light. What happens when the companies finish their operations and leave the area?
If the oil companies owe them free electricity, what about water, roads, telecoms services or even food. Should be oil companies provide all these just because they want to do business in the region? Is this why some are insisting they relocate tho the Nigerdelta? so they take over the responsibility of government?

“The President is away on an indefinite medical trip abroad. The Senate lacks the power to pronounce Osinbajo As Acting President, without a WRITTEN RESOLUTION of BOTH CHAMBERS of the National Assembly, through a DECISION taken on the FLOOR of both chambers.
I am disappointed when prominent lawyers talk like motor park touts. This issue is a non issue. The constitution is explicitly clear on what happens when the president is away.
145. Whenever the President transmits to the President of the Senate and the Speaker of the House of Representatives a written declaration that he is proceeding on vacation or that he is otherwise unable to discharge the functions of his office, until he transmits to them a written declaration to the contrary such functions shall be discharged by the Vice-President as Acting President.

The National Assembly cannot make a decision to make anybody acting president, the constitution has already made the decision. Once both chambers receive a letter from the president stating he will be off duty, the Vice President automatically becomes the acting president. The Yaradua episode was complicated because the then president did not transmit any letter, so it was illegal for president Jonathan then to assume the role of the acting president, and that was why the "doctrine of necessity" was necessary. Even the doctrine of necessity was illegal, but they got away with it because nobody too the matter to court.

Did you see the word coordinator anywhere in the constitution?

The president only needs to transmit a letter to the National Assembly informing them that he is going on vacation, The Vice President automatically becomes Acting President, and remains so until the president writes another letter informing the National Assembly he is back and ready to resume.

Do you people take time to read the constitution at all?

The people that don't want progress in the Niger Delta are your thieving Governors like Odili,Ibori,Alameishegha,Igbenideion,Uduaghan,Amaechi,Attah,Akpabio that looted billions of dollars and your elders and youths that will rather collect money than accept infrastructure developments.
I am shocked by the positions taken by educated youths of the nigerdelta like Tonyebarcanista. They should be fighting for the education of the children and the youth, provision of basic infrastructure like clean portable water, good hospitals, good roads and making sure the oil companies adhere to best environmental standards in their oil exploration and exploitation practices, but instead they are more interested in just collecting money from the government (coined as anmesty) and from the oil companies. When will the Nigerdelta produce a Ken Saro-Wiwa again? If the Nigerdelta have just 5 Ken Saro-Wiwas, who are not interested in collecting stipends from the oil companies, the Nigerdelta would be the road to development.

Niger Delta Militants Give Oil Companies 2 Weeks to Shut Down Operations
May 12, 2016

The Niger Delta Avengers, the new face of violent agitations in the region, on Thursday issued a two-week ultimatum to owners and operators of oil blocs in the area to shut down their business operations and evacuate all their staff or face a ‘bloody’ attack.
The organization had recently claimed responsibility for destroying Nigeria’s oil platforms resulting in the shut-in of several barrels of crude, disruption in power supply and shortage of gas supply.
NDA also attacked the Shell platform in Forcados, the Chevron Okan platform at Abiteye in Escravos, and the pipelines transporting crude oil to the Warri and the Kaduna refineries.

In a statement signed by its spokesperson, ‘Col’ Mudock Agbinibo, the group also warned oil giant, Chevron Nigeria Limited, not to embark on the repair of the valve blown last week, or several casualties would be recorded during any confrontation.
‘’To owners and operators of these oil blocs in our region, the Niger Delta Avengers is giving you two weeks ultimatum to shut down your operations and evacuate your staff.
‘’If at the end of the ultimatum, you are still operating, we will blow up all the locations. It will be bloody. So just shut down your operations and leave’’, the group warned.

IYC warns Reps on rejection of oil firms relocation to Niger Delta
05 May, 2017

However, Ijaw youths have warned that the rejection by the House is unacceptable coming at a time when the Federal Government has given a directive to all IOCs to relocate to the region as part of its fulfilment of the Pan-Niger Delta Elders Forum’s demands.

Eric Omare led IYC insisted that the call on the international oil companies to relocate their head offices to the region is an executive order, which is not under the purview of the House of Representatives.

IYC, in a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Friday by its Spokesperson, Mr. Henry Iyalla, said any action capable of undermining the order will not see the light of day, as the group would rise to ensure that actions aimed at marginalizing or undermining the demands of the region is resisted vehemently.

1. Extortion happens everywhere, including Lagos. People that do business in Lagos will testify.
I do business in Lagos and I can testify that the level of extortion in Lagos is infinitesimal compared to what is obtained in the Nigerdelta. I have done renovation jobs in Lagos island ( the extortion capital of Lagos), once I agreed with the chairman of the Omoniles on the sum to pay and I paid up, I did not have any problem again for the 2 months I was on site. I also did a job in warri ( Effie to be exact) and it was extortions from different groups.
I live in an industrial area of Lagos, surrounded by huge Indian and Chinese companies, I have never heard of youths coming to disrupt their business.

2. Kidnapping and insecurity is everywhere AND not limited to ND or SS. Not just kidnapping, there is also armed robbery and other social vices.
We are not talking about armed robbery and other social vices which happens everywhere in the world, we are talking about kidnapping of foreigners for ransom, that happens only in the nigerdelta. It discourages foreigners and foreign companies from coming.

It is the job of the FG and security agencies to provide security for ALL. Protection of life and properties is the PRIMARY responsibility of government.
Agree 100%

3. Communal clashes is 70% caused by Oil companies through their evil divide and rule. They will see that a land is under dispute yet they will take money to give one side and that will cause clash. Warri crises was caused by Oil coys.
How are the oil companies to know who owns lands under dispute. Most lands in warri is under dispute.
This is what I hate to hear about nigerdelta issues, it is always about sharing of money. Why can't you ask the companies to put lasting infrastructures in place that can be enjoyed by everyone.

4. Who is to provide infrastructure? Is it the community that is impoverished and raped by both the government and oil coys? Is it not the responsibility of both the FG and the Oil coys to provide their infrastructure? This is silly...
Will our kings, politicians, community elders and youths allow oil companies to build infrastructures. These people will rather collect the raw cash than allow the companies to use the money to build infrastructures.

I have done contract jobs all over southern Nigeria, the areas I had the biggest problem was the warri itself and my most pleasurable experience was Ugwashi-Uku.

I am an original Warri boy, born in the village. My uncles and cousins hold strong positions in both the youth elders communities. My father was very close to the murdered Festus Okotieboh. Tonyebarcanista is not more Nigerdeltan than I.

IAMDUTCHBRAH:
The decision taken the the House of Representative to reject the decision to force oil companies to relocate their headquarters the Niger Delta was the right decision.
From an insider that was born and has lived in Warri most of his life, this are the following reason:
1)Extortion by youths demanding various payments even though they didn't perform any contracts to warrant payments and demanding jobs they did'nt have the qualifications for.
2) Kidnapping of oil workers. My father was kidnapped for a week and his closest friend has been kidnapped twice by youths demanding ransom from oil companies. My father resigned and left Warri after he was released by the kidnappers.Said he will never set foot in Niger Delta.
3)Communual crisis between Ijaw,Itsekiri and Uhrobo.
4)Inadeqaute infrastructure
5)Goverment officials and traditional rulers strong arming forcing oil companies to give them contracts with the threat of disruption if they didn't comply and after been handed the contracts embezzled most of the money and did a shoddy job.
Warri used to have so many companies such as Shell,Chevron,NNPC,Schlumber and Halliburton in the 90's and early 2000's but due to the restive nature of the militants youths they divested their investements and moved most of their operations out of Warri.
Businesses need a conducive enviroment to thrive and this latest threats by the IYC will not convince companies to relocate. The Ijaw Youth Congress is the group mostly responsible for mass exodus, due their extortions and threats against oil companies.
My brother, it is mainly IPOB youths and their supporters who have never seen a drop of crude oil in their life that scream 'our oil" all over the place. We the real indigenes of the oil producing areas ( especially the concerned ones) understand the real problems of the nigerdelta.
I once formed a formidable group here in Lagos to try and tackle the huge poverty and developmental challenges in my village. We wrote a petition to shell to stop giving cash to our community youths and elders but instead use the money to provide basic infrastructures like sandfilling the village ( during rainy season the whole village is waterlogged), providing portable drinking water and building some decent habitable houses. We meet so much hatred and resistance from my community leaders that we were afraid to go home. At the end of the day we let sleeping dogs lie.
I have so much more to tell of my experience in going to carry out some construction jobs in warri, and I am an indigene ( although they see me as Lagos boy). Imagine what non indigenes and foreigners face working in the nigerdelta - both oil and non oil workers.

First of all... I wanna ask you if you are working in the Maritime sector.. if yes.. then I will continue to give you facts...

If no...then have a nice day...

I can't argue with people who tends to know everything...

Cheers
I asked you if you are a staff of NIWA, so i can understand how you have an inventory of all their equipments and which ones are working, but typical of a Nigerian, you are answering a question with another question.

That you work in the maritime sector does not necessarily make you an expert in dredging. I know many local dredgers in Warri, who assemble together local dredgers and then lease lands by a river and commence dredging of sand.
A lot of oil bunkers took to dredging of sand when government crackdown made oil bunkering difficult about 5 years ago.

It is you that claimed to know everything not me, it is you that claimed that you know the number, type and condition of all equipment owned by NIWA. I only wondered how you know so much about NIWA.

My Brother NIWA can not handle such project at the moment...most of their dredger are not working with their outdated cutter for such massive projects... It will be outsourced to contractors...

Bunkering a dredger per day it's so expensive that it can gulp up to N2million per day...

This is a massive project except they wanna do a shady job that the channel will get block again I'm few days
How do you know most of the dredgers owned by NIWA are not working? Are you a staff of NIWA? How come these same dredgers that you say are working are on hire to other dredging companies?

If Amaechi says he wants to dredge the river Niger with N100 billion naira, you people will wail ceaselessly, he says he wants to dredge the river with 100million naira, you people are still wailing, whatever he does you people will wail. Why not wait and see if the river will be dredged at all ot that over N100 million was expended before you start to wail.
