The truth is that NNPC did not remit monies ment for Nigeria into the federation account, so whether, it is $60 billion, (Sanusi) $20 billion(Sanusi revised), $10 billion (Okonjo Iweala), $1.6 billion (KPMG), N3.2 trillion AuGF, N4.9 trillion (RMAFC), the fact is Jonathan and Diezani is still owing Nigeria billions of dollars.

As i always say what goes around comes around, so when 7 APC lawmakers attempt to impeach the governor with the support of DSS, PDP should be the last to complain of human rights abuses.

Rivers state elders have a duty to reconcile Amaehi and Wike else the war between the two will consume the whole state. Rivers cannot have any progress as long as these two titans are at war. It is the masses that will suffer.

Most ( if not all ) the people that started the war and are still fanning the war are outsiders. Respected elders and opinion leaders in rivers need to constitute a reconciliation committee to reconcile the two.

I am sure once the prosecution gets Ese to testify whether she was coerced or not not, the case is as good as gone. I thought the allegations are statutory rape (having sex with a minor) and kidnap (not forceful as Ese was said to follow Yenusa to Kano willingly).

It is not really the lawyer's fault but a great conspiracy by the police to destroy the case from the beginning by assigning the boy 18 years. The charge sheet was filed based on the police case file. what does the age 18 signify? it signifies that at the time the alleged offence was committed, Yunusa was 17, thereby a minor with limited criminal responsibility. The trial to me is merely to fulfill all righteousness as the powers that be had already bungled the case even before it started, dont be surprised that nothing will come out of it. You are right. If the police case file states that Yenusa is 18 and can get an affidavit to back it up, then Yenusa was legally a minor when the alleged crime took place, even if Yenusa is actually 50 years old. It is the same thing with footballers, as long as they can obtain an affidavit saying they are 15 years old, then even FIFA has to accept them as 15 even if they are actually 30. This is the problem of a society without a proper database. The prosecution lawyers has a window to blow apart that argument, if they can get hold of Yenusa's sim registration details or INEC registration details (assuming he has a phone or he voted), then it can be proven he is a legal adult.

Even at that Buhari has provided a form of plea bargain to suspected corrupt people - "return stolen mony and go scot free ", some people like Nduka Obiagbena has taken the plea bargain and returned some of the money and promised to return the rest, but some stubborn people like Dokpesi and Metuh has vowed to fight to the end. What else do you want Buhari to do?

Even in the Advanced world with sophisticated police and judiciary, criminanal cases take more than 1 year to conclude, that is even after investigations are concluded and the case is taken to trial. In Nigeria and other developing countries with archaic Judiciary and investigative bodies, criminal cases take years (sometimes decades).

If you are not happy about reports of corruption cases, then petition Punch, Vanguard, Thisday, Channels, AIT and other media housed to stop reporting corruption cases. Tell them to censor all activities of EFCC, DSS, CCB, Police and ICPC concerning, investigations, arrests and trials of suspected corrupt individuals. Tell them all you want them to report is guilty or not guilty verdict after the conclusion of the trial. Also do petition the judges to conclude the cases within 6 months, do not forget to tell them that 9 months is too long to try a criminal case. You hero Jonathan was able to get convictions in criminal matters within 3 months.

And how many were jail for corruption during the nearly 6 year rule of your hero?

I agree with you 100%, we need to understand why the Police were unable to carry out their responsibilities for all of 6 months over a reported case of child abduction. This is where i want us to focus on, instead of only Yenusa and spewing insults at Northerners, Emir Sanusi and Islam. Human rights and social media activists must demand a probe of the police and all those involved in this case. What or who handicapped or compromised the police from effecting the release of Ese?

After all said and done, i am still appalled by the apparent helplessness of Ese's dad for the whole of six months. A small school incident happened to my little son last week, he was bitten by a fellow student while in class. I went to the school and raked seriously, i threatened to report the school to the lagos state ministry of education. I did not even wait for my wife who i believed was being too complacent. The proprietor apologized and almost suspended the class teacher. I felt satisfied after a promise that such would never be allowed to happen again.

I was not happy that it was the mother that traveled to Abuja to retrieve Ese and not the father or at worst both of them. I believe a man is the protector and head of the family.

The report says Ese's father travel to kano on September 2, with his wife and 2 police men, after seeing the emir who says he had ordered the release Ese since august 26, what further action did Ese's father take? Did he inform the emir that his order had not been obeyed and that he should give another order for Ese's release. Why did he not immediately petition the state commissioner of police, the IG, the house of representatives and senate (through his representatives), etc. I am at loss at to why it took 6 months before they took the matter to a human rights group. If the father had informed someone as influential as oby ezekwesili, i am sure just a phone call to emir Sanusi would have gotten Ese released in a matter of days. I hate being in a state of helplessness as portrayed by the father. A man is supposed to protect his family using all available means.

This Ese's saga requires a thorough investigation, we need to know the roles played by every body involved andappropriate punishment given. We need to determine the the hierarchy of laws in Nigeria, why can't state institutions enforce federal laws?

Hatred darken the heart and eats your soul. Where did i defend anybody. The person with the most blame in this Ese saga are the parents, especially the father. If it was my daughter that that was abducted and was told the location where she is kept, i would travelled there immediately and would raze the roof down. i would not leave there without my daughter. I do not understand how the parents would leave Ese in kano for over 6 months while they are sleeping in Yenagoa. The situation has become infinitely more complicated with Ese's pregnancy. what now becomes of Ese and the baby? Will Yenusa and family be entitled to any responsibility concerning the baby? or do we assume the child will be a bastard (fatherless)? or even maybe Ese should abort the over 5 month's pregnancy?
