Building institutions is the best way of eradicating corruption just like GEJ did in the agricultural sector
How will you build institutions when you have not built the personnel that will man the institutions. In fact institutions are the people and not the structures that house the institutions. So the best way of eradicating corruption is by building men with good education, strong morals and impeccable character.

How can (an ex) CBN governor say $40bn and later after reconciliation says $20bn is not remitted by NNPC or missing. Sanusi is a liar and deserved not to be a CBN governor, is an APC friend and against this (the last) government.
What concerns Sanusi here? Is Sanusi the chairman of RMAFC that is making the accusations? Is Sanusi the Auditor General of the federation that is accusing your God Jonathan and his accomplice Diezani of non remittance of Oil sales?
The truth is that NNPC did not remit monies ment for Nigeria into the federation account, so whether, it is $60 billion, (Sanusi) $20 billion(Sanusi revised), $10 billion (Okonjo Iweala), $1.6 billion (KPMG), N3.2 trillion AuGF, N4.9 trillion (RMAFC), the fact is Jonathan and Diezani is still owing Nigeria billions of dollars.

Here is one verse that relates to men and women.

Ephesians 5:22 -24 New International Version (NIV)
22 Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. 24 Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

That is over stretching the bible verse, even Islam adminishes adherents to love they neighbour ( especially if they are from the same faith). No verse in the both old and New testament stated that women is equal to Men, but i can quote numerous verse that says women are subservient to men.

Ekiti Speaker, deputy ‘impeached’ by 7 PDP lawmakers
The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Adewale Omirin, and his deputy, Adetunji Orisalade, have been removed from office by seven Peoples Democratic Party members of the Assembly.

The Speaker and his deputy, both members of the All Progressives Congress, APC, were impeached amid tight security provided by the police.

They were replaced with Dele Olugbemi and Abeni Olayinka. Both are members of the PDP.

Rivers state elders have a duty to reconcile Amaehi and Wike else the war between the two will consume the whole state. Rivers cannot have any progress as long as these two titans are at war. It is the masses that will suffer.

Most ( if not all ) the people that started the war and are still fanning the war are outsiders. Respected elders and opinion leaders in rivers need to constitute a reconciliation committee to reconcile the two.

Most of the pastors of new generation churches must have read courses on hypnosis. How else can they make members believe they are demi gods and get them to empty their wallets apart from their minds. A professional hypnosis practitioner can get you to do anything, as long as you succumb to the suggestions (believe) the hypnotic.

Here is a typical example of a hypnotic hypnotizing a judge in America Got Talent, with some members of the audience succumbing to the hypnotic also. This is similar to the technics most pastors use to hypnotize their members.

My brother, it seems your are the only one not carried away by sentiments. Those charges are laughable. I am sure once the prosecution gets Ese to testify whether she was coerced or not not, the case is as good as gone. I thought the allegations are statutory rape (having sex with a minor) and kidnap (not forceful as Ese was said to follow Yenusa to Kano willingly).

Which one be forceful conversion of religion again? is there such law in our statute?

It is not really the lawyer's fault but a great conspiracy by the police to destroy the case from the beginning by assigning the boy 18 years. The charge sheet was filed based on the police case file. what does the age 18 signify? it signifies that at the time the alleged offence was committed, Yunusa was 17, thereby a minor with limited criminal responsibility. The trial to me is merely to fulfill all righteousness as the powers that be had already bungled the case even before it started, dont be surprised that nothing will come out of it. Now the stupid lawyer is telling a father when he impregnated the wife and they gave birth to Yunusa their son. I weep for my profession and the gullible Nigerians that reposed their faith in the system.
You are right. If the police case file states that Yenusa is 18 and can get an affidavit to back it up, then Yenusa was legally a minor when the alleged crime took place, even if Yenusa is actually 50 years old. It is the same thing with footballers, as long as they can obtain an affidavit saying they are 15 years old, then even FIFA has to accept them as 15 even if they are actually 30. This is the problem of a society without a proper database. The prosecution lawyers has a window to blow apart that argument, if they can get hold of Yenusa's sim registration details or INEC registration details (assuming he has a phone or he voted), then it can be proven he is a legal adult.

I understand that most Nigerians would prefer a UK education because of quality and time, but the reality is that government does not have enough dollars to give to those private citizens. Just like every other citizen who cannot access official dollars, those who wish to send their wards to school abroad should source their dollars from independent sources.

Senator BMB was one of those who called out the president for not devaluing the official exchange rate. Now that the president stuck to his guns and resisted devaluation, he now wants to access that cheap rate.
God bless you. The same people that criticised Buhari for not devaluing the naira are the same people crying that they are not getting naira at N197 to pay for schooling abroad.
I am still expecting an epistle from our chief economist, tonybarcanista as to why Buhari is clueless because he has refused to value (as against devalue) the naira for foreign education, a point diametrically opposite his stance that Buhari is dull for not devaluing the naira.

If Buhari had devalued the naira to say N300 to the dollar, how would people in foreign schools funded their education?

Try to understand Buhari well. When he was in command of Battalion in Jos 1983 before he was chosen to be Head Of State, even the league of Army then can testify that he is slow to action. His decision has always been guided by the fear of offending Allah.
If he is so brave as many insinuate, he should have jailed Obasanjo, Tinubu, Jonathan, etc. That's what Idiagbon is bold to do. But Osinbajo dares not
Neophytes attempting to re-write history. Were you born or matured enough in 1983 to know Buhari? Show us a link or reference where the league of army testified that Buhari as battalion commander or head of state was too slow.

At least you are aware that he was chosen to be head of state, you fellow neophytes allege that Buhari singlehandedly planned and executed the 1984 coup.

The league of army testified that Buhari was too slow but General Gowon appointed him governor of the old Gongola state.
The league of army testified that Buhari was too slow but General Obasanjo appointed him petroleum minister.
The league of army testified that Buhari was too slow but Shagari appointed him General Officer Commanding the 3rd Armoured Division in Jos.
The league of army testified that Buhari was too slow but Babangida, Idiagbon and Abacha appointed him head of state after their successful coup.
The league of army testified that Buhari was too slow but Abacha appointed him chairman of petroleum trust fund
And finally, the league of army testified that Buhari was too slow but Nigerians voted him president.

Pray that the league of army should testify that any member of your generation is too slow so that they can achieve one tenth if what Buhari had achieved.

No offense bro, but at this twenty first century it could take lesser time to get a conviction with the right evidence and court processes in place. True they are mostly crimes that bails can be granted but the defendant can make plea bargain behind close doors to protect the integrity of the 'Office'

What we have experienced so far is a systematic display of relevance by different anti graft agencies without due process, evidence collation and coordination, worst of all relying on moral conviction as a tool for cheap propaganda.

I thought PMB would've used the secret police who are no longer secret of course, efcc, NIA, SIB, SFU to build his case and then have the attorney general's office to persecute accordingly. All these half baked raids and arrest ridicule the judicial process and our security apparatus.
First plea bargains are not in our Laws, secondly a plea bargain entails the accused pleading guilty for a lighter sentence. In Nigeria, nobody accepts responsibility for crimes, we always look for excuses. Even at that Buhari has provided a form of plea bargain to suspected corrupt people - "return stolen mony and go scot free ", some people like Nduka Obiagbena has taken the plea bargain and returned some of the money and promised to return the rest, but some stubborn people like Dokpesi and Metuh has vowed to fight to the end. What else do you want Buhari to do?

Even in the Advanced world with sophisticated police and judiciary, criminanal cases take more than 1 year to conclude, that is even after investigations are concluded and the case is taken to trial. In Nigeria and other developing countries with archaic Judiciary and investigative bodies, criminal cases take years (sometimes decades).

This govt is just hot air and propaganda!
The president is not supposed to have anything to do with convictions, that is the responsibility of the judiciary. The sins of the previous government was not how many convictions they got, it was how many prosecutions they pursued. The " stealing is not corruption" philosophy did not allow for many investigations and prosecutions, if any.

I will attempt to answer your questions as best as i can,. Firstly, my comments were based on what the man said to AIT reporters where he said that he went to Kano in the company of two police officers and after one week they couldn't secure the girls release. You also need to look at the man in question and tell me if you think that man is exposed to social media for all i care that man may not even know who Ezekwesili is or anyother, so called activist is for that. What i expected to hear you discuss on is why police officers dispatched from bayelsa police command spent 7days in Kano going between the kano police command, Kano Emirate council and the Kano sharia council? Should we now choose which authorities to obey, where to obey them and why we should obey them? To the extent that one of the top police bosses (not sure if it's the AIG of the zone or the CP) said that they were waiting for the emir to return from hajj before they can go clarify with him before taking the girl back. Whose authority between these two institutions does our Constitution convey such powers on? That my friend is the fundamental problem of the country. Our laws are selective in application
I agree with you 100%, we need to understand why the Police were unable to carry out their responsibilities for all of 6 months over a reported case of child abduction. This is where i want us to focus on, instead of only Yenusa and spewing insults at Northerners, Emir Sanusi and Islam. Human rights and social media activists must demand a probe of the police and all those involved in this case. What or who handicapped or compromised the police from effecting the release of Ese?

After all said and done, i am still appalled by the apparent helplessness of Ese's dad for the whole of six months. A small school incident happened to my little son last week, he was bitten by a fellow student while in class. I went to the school and raked seriously, i threatened to report the school to the lagos state ministry of education. I did not even wait for my wife who i believed was being too complacent. The proprietor apologized and almost suspended the class teacher. I felt satisfied after a promise that such would never be allowed to happen again.

I was not happy that it was the mother that traveled to Abuja to retrieve Ese and not the father or at worst both of them. I believe a man is the protector and head of the family.

Please shut it if you are unsure of what to say. Go watch the piece AIT did on the family, the dad was the first person to go to kano accompanied by TWO policemen from Bayelsa after having reported the matter to Bayelsa police command and guess what, they spent SEVEN good days in kano without any headway. Seven good days trying to get the emirate council of the North to release one's daughter to him even as he did accompanied by government representatives. My dear, there's no justification for what transpired on this poor girl's case and unless u want to keep living in denial, there's another law (sharia and emirate) the northerners obey and to them supercedes the Constitution of the FRN. Stop blaming the parents of the girl cos their efforts were frustrated from the get go, save for the media outcry they would have resigned to their 'fate' on this.
Apologies for my ignorance, i do not watch AIT, i only watch sunrise daily and news at 10 on channels. I have searched the internet for more details and i found a nairaland link that has a bit more details - https://www.nairaland.com/2961988/kano-man-abduct-bayelsa-girl
It seems it was the mother that responded immediately by going in pursuit of her child, the father did not travel until more than two weeks later. To me the man should not have allowed his wife to travel to Sharia north alone.

The report says Ese's father travel to kano on September 2, with his wife and 2 police men, after seeing the emir who says he had ordered the release Ese since august 26, what further action did Ese's father take? Did he inform the emir that his order had not been obeyed and that he should give another order for Ese's release. Why did he not immediately petition the state commissioner of police, the IG, the house of representatives and senate (through his representatives), etc. I am at loss at to why it took 6 months before they took the matter to a human rights group. If the father had informed someone as influential as oby ezekwesili, i am sure just a phone call to emir Sanusi would have gotten Ese released in a matter of days. I hate being in a state of helplessness as portrayed by the father. A man is supposed to protect his family using all available means.

This Ese's saga requires a thorough investigation, we need to know the roles played by every body involved andappropriate punishment given. We need to determine the the hierarchy of laws in Nigeria, why can't state institutions enforce federal laws?

This is why i have been cautioning all those hate filled ethnic bigot, they have not heard all sides of the story and they immediately start spewing insults at other tribes, regions and religions, they even care less for Ese and her wellbeing.

The person with the most blame in this Ese saga are the parents, especially the father. His daughter was missing from home since last year's August and he is aware of where she is and has is still sitting cool in Yenagoa, i did not hear reports of him going to Kano or even Abuja to retrieve his daughter, it was the mother i heard that did all the travelling. in the Muslim north woman are not accorded much respect, so i doubt she would have attained much by herself unlike if it was a man that went. If it was my daughter that that was abducted and was told the location where she is kept, i would travelled there immediately and would raze the roof down. i would not leave there without my daughter. I do not understand how the parents would leave Ese in kano for over 6 months while they are sleeping in Yenagoa. I am sure the real truth is yet to come out as to what really transpired that led to Ese running away from home. What led to Ese being so unhappy as to find solace in Yenusa's arms and preferring instead to be abducted?

The situation has become infinitely more complicated with Ese's pregnancy. what now becomes of Ese and the baby? Will Yenusa and family be entitled to any responsibility concerning the baby? or do we assume the child will be a bastard (fatherless)? or even maybe Ese should abort the over 5 month's pregnancy?
