Focusmind:Then don't call her house help. To me house help is a derogatory term. See her as part of the family, like a guest or a distant family member. People abroad adopt other less privileged children despite have children of their own, a good example Madonna. But it seems we are not that morally and spirituality advanced yet. |
drololaaof:And some madam's children are not evil possessed? Is it because child househelps are poor and vulnerable that makes them evil possessed? Nigerians are fond of hating and demonizing the weak and vulnerable in the society ie the very poor, the very aged and the very sick/disabled. |
Focusmind:Why will you have a 14year old as a house girl? Is that not child abuse or rather child exploitation? Forget hair, cosmetics and hygiene, all those are to sooth your conscience. A child should never never be a maid. Me, I have never had a maid. I have a washing machine and the cloths that cannot be washed by the machine is given to my dry cleaner. My wife has someone come clean my house once a week. My wife does all the cooking (she is a caterer anyway). Never liked the idea of a live-in house maid not to talk of a minor one. |
budaatum:That was my problem with Christianity. It kill a human conscience and it's against the natural law of karma. You can virtually get away with murder. |
rickleye:He shows signs cognitive decline. It will get worse as the months roll by. I doubt that by January next year he will be able to recognise his wife Remi. I certain that his handlers will dear not present him for a live interview any time before the elections. Presidential debate is off the table. |
Tinubu is in cognitive decline. It will get worse as the months roll by. I doubt that by January next year, he will be able to recognise his wife Remi. I certain that his handlers dear not present him for a live interview any time before the elections. Presidential debate is off the table. |
Transcript of the video clip. Thinking and doing. Nigerian great thinkers are doers. And that is I'm openly begging Nasir El Rufai not to run away for additional degree errrrr. Excuse (coughs) to.. now he's going to tryo a PHD or something. There are lots of educated relics. We're not gonna let you run away. Your vision, creativity and resiliency in turning a rotten situation to a bad one is necessary at this critical time.Ah That is why we're here today. Therefore I'm sure that under the able leadership of this governor Nasir El Rufai, the leadership of the cabal and the subsequent administration in Kaduna will be very successful, once the path is straight. This state would be turned to a rapid job creation state to you the kaduanians Be sure of the success of the (abrupt end). |
omonnakoda:Let me ask you, who is to build roads - private or public sector? Should you pay for each road you walk or drive on? Who is to pay for ambulance services? Should you be asked to pay before you are revived from a heart attack? Who should pay for fire services? Should the fire service collect deposit before they attempt to put out your fire? Who is to pay for policing? Should you pay before the police investigate and prosecute a crime against you? And most important of all, who is to pay for the country's defense? Should we all pay before the military is asked to defend you against foreign invasion? You guys just scream "capitalism is the best" without fully understanding what you are talking about. |
omonnakoda:The services are determined by the need to build a stable, compassionate and just society. That's the reason human societies have governments, to provide for the welfare and security of its citizens irrespective of profit motives. |
Sulele04:That's a major flaw of untamed capitalism. There are some services that should not be profit oriented. Services like ambulance services, rescue services, fire services and critical health services should never be profit oriented. |
LeoDeKing:Untamed capitalism has its flaws. It leads to feudalism, oligarchy or monopoly, which eventually leads to a wide gap between rich and poor. Eventually, the poor who has nothing to lose will descend on the state creating insecurity, insurgency and civil conflict. You have to ensure that in your capitalism, the poor masses are forgotten or over exploited. You can take examples from history by looking at France, Germany, Russia and even Britain. You think these nations imbibed a piece of socialism into their capitalism for fun? |
noblemuk:I lived on V/I for 20 years and Ikoyi for 7 years. At no time did we carry garbage on our heads and dump by the roads side almost half a kilometer away. The Garbage collectors were late most times and garbage would pile up, but they were were operational. Tinubu did not introduce garbage trucks to Lagos. what Cinemas were functional at the time? There were cinemas all over Lagos from 70s to 80s. I used to go to National Theatre and the Cinema on Moloney late 70s. In fact then there were Cinemas all over Lagos, Ibadan, Warri and and Benin. It was the advent of VHS players that killed Cinemas. It was Silverbird Entertainment that brought a resurgence of Cinemas and not Tinubu. How did you get around long distances in Lagos without the terrible 911 (Molue) buses?Yes V/I was predominantly residential for Federal government workers before Capital was moved to Abuja. After the capital was moved and government parastatals was moved to Abuja, most of the houses were sold to individuals and companies. Lekki development started with Jakande, who opened up the Lekki-Epe corridor. Iekki phase 1 was developed way Tinubu. Maroko was demolished and converted to Oniru Estate well before Tinubu. VGC was developed way before Tinubu. So it is safe to say that the Lekki Epe corridor was an ongoing development started by Jakande and continued by subsequent governors including Tinubu. But to assign the whole development to Tinubu is disingenuous. Give the man some respect. He has paid his dues and does have bragging rights...there's no one like him in this era of Nigerian politiciansAlso give other governors their dues - ie Jakande, Marwa, Raji Rasaki, Fashola and Ambode. Tinubu main strengths is he knows how to manipulate the political system to put his cronies and family in power. Same as Ibori. If Ibori had hounded by Jonathan not been jailed, he would have had an iron grip of delta politics, even more than Tinubu in Lagos. |
Emma1Oj:List projects started and completed by Tinubu and those started and completed by Ambode and let's compare and contrast. You people talk like Lagos Started in 1999. I did my primary and secondary education in lagos in the 80s, so I experienced the development of lagos pre and post Tinubu. Even Lagos State indigenes are not happy with the bogus claims that Lagos was a jungle before Tinubu. |
DearDealz:You think APC (or even PDP) count on your votes to win elections? They rely on "structure". Rigging structure which are in the hands of state governors, party strong men, traditional and religious leaders and thugs (militants, bandits, insurgents, cultists) and not forgetting judges. Anty politician that controls these groups automatically wins elections. That's Peter Obi has no chance, no matter the public support he gathers, he just got no "structures". A sane society should not be consistently throwing up suspected criminals like Tinubu and Atiku with very shady past and shadier future. |
Princedapace:Who imposed a unitary system on Nigeria? Was it not an igbo led administration? So, to reduce or end that, support igbos to separate Nigeria. During the last war, if yorubas had suported the break up of Nigeria, there is no war, hausas woukd have won the war na.How can Yorubas support the break up of Nigeria when the matter was never tabled. You guys just unilaterally declared secession and you hoped Yorubas will just pick up arms and fight for your objectives. U can't be shouting that the bitter igbos are in Lagos when we run unitary system of govt.As I said, igbos were the main proponent and drivers of the one Nigeria and unitary system. You can't be reprobating and aprobating like a pendulum and expect everyone to swing along. You guys are only good at making noise on social media, you have not made any official proposal that anyone can look at for consideration. |
The same way Aoandoakaa said Yar'adua can rule from anywhere, even from the grave. https://www.nairaland.com/367225/yaradua-rule-anywhere-aondoakaa These Nigerian politicians take the masses for fools. |
ModCaller:Where is 3500 hectares of land along the Lekki - Epe axis? Epe proper yes, but the Lekki- Epe corridor? Definitely not. |
crestedaguiyi:No amount of internal roads would solve lagos traffic problems. What lagos needs is an internal railway system connecting all the local government. A rail like from Ikorodu to Epe to Lagos Island through the Lekki corridor to mainland to Berger. Lekki corridor is a strip of swamp separating the lagoon from the Atlantic Ocean. I don't see how that corridor will accommodate an airport, a sea port and a refinery. It will be chaos. |
emirofkabul:Are you insinuating that the FBI would arrest a person, incarcerate him indefinitely and seize his money and properties all without charging the person to court? |
emirofkabul:You seem to be supporting "guilty until proven guilty" doctrine of EFCC and Nigerian security agencies. You are simply speculating without even any criminal accusation not to talk of conviction. The EFCC never charge the guy with any accusation. He was interrogated for by EFCC officials for dozens of hours, he was asked to bring documents supporting his claims of earning his income mainly from YouTube. His laptop and phones were searched, his house was searched. All his friends and associates were arrested and interrogated. To confirm if his claims are true is very easy and elementary. You can check on socialblade for his YouTube earnings. All his transactions are on record in his various accounts. They can easily get in touch with people and organizations that credited his accounts. Don't you think if EFCC found something they would have charged him to court? Please stop being negative and learn to embrace positivism. This young man should be a role model for many youth, who endured great sacrifice to defend his fundamental human rights. |
saladinnoir:There is something suspicious that EFCC could not bring any charge? There is something suspicious and he won EFCC both at the high Court and at the appeal court? It's you guys that encourage the brazenness by which EFCC and other security agencies trample on the fundamental rights of Nigerians. You think if he was actually a yahoo boy, will he not find it easier paying EFCC off with a few tens of dollars instead of wasting tens of millions in court case? Just pray, that it will not be your turn soon, because what goes around comes around. The EFCC does not have the right to detain him beyond 48 hours. The EFCC does not have the rights to block his account and seize his properties without a court injunction The EFCC does not have have the rights to search his house without a court warrant. |
Jman06:Don't mind her, I doubt she can ever keep a husband with that attitude. If a woman is not "ready to suffer in marriage", she better not marry and forever become baby mama, or even continue to do olosho until she is past her menopause. |
Johnnyjohnnyman:Yes she came back to impose another a man's child on you because she knows you are a great father. Continue caring for your 3 children and help them pass through the psychological trauma they will get passing through due to your wife's indiscretion. Make sure they are around family. She is only regretting her action for not protecting herself because if she did she wouldn't have ended up with the pregnancy.Ask yourself, would she have come back if the lover accepted the pregnancy and asked her to marry him. She would have return your bride price without notice. She would even have abandoned the kids for her fairy tale life. The story that she ducked the guy because of the children is bullshit. A woman taking care of 3 kids alone will not have time for a full romance. Who was taking care of the kids when she was doing "wifey" duties for the guy. Abi, she took the 3 children to the guys house? By the way she didn't impregnate herself the child father is alive she can take him to court for child maintenance. If he won't take care or her she can go ahead and sleep with all men in the world to cater for her since that's the easiest option for her to do.Don't let these wayward feminists who can't keep a husband guilt trip you. No part of her cheating was your fault. As I said every marriage has its challenges - financially, psychological or healthwise. That's why the marriage vows contain "for better for worse". Cheating is certainly not the solution to any marriage problem. |
MadeInTokyo:Did Shettima pick up a form not to talk of contesting for primaries? How can someone who did not participate in a primary become the presidential candidate? What happened to northern APC Governor's doctrine of conceding power to the south? Was it a trick to field a sick Tinubu so that power can remain in the North as they knew Tinubu was not fit? Section 29 in subsection (1) says ‘every political party shall, not later than 180 days before the date appointed for a general election under this Act, submit to the Commission, in the prescribed Forms, the list of candidates the party proposes to sponsor at the elections, who must have emerged from valid primaries conducted by the political party.' |
Now the question we should all be ready to confront is, is the new revised electoral act constitutional? Can someone who did not participate in the primaries become the presidential flag bearer of a party? I know Rotimi Amaechi and Kashima Shetima will slug it out all the way to the Supreme Court if anything happens to Tinubu. |
Meanwhile Rotimi Ameachi/ Kashima Shetima are waiting patiently like vultures following a thirsty dying animal in a desert

BigIyanga:You still don't get it? How many car companies in the world make their own engines, transmission, tyres, fabrics, electronics, etc. No company or country has that capacity. Modern economic model emphasizes specialization. For example in the making of phones, components are sourced from every continent. As I said the processors and chips comes from Taiwan or South Korea, the Screens comes from China, the glass might come from France or Japan. The company would source its materials from various sources and print "Made in Nigeria". This will build a vibrant economy and reduce forex demands as opposed to importing finished items 100%. |
BigIyanga:The cars were Made in Nigeria . No country in the world makes a product with 100% locally sourced materials. They import some raw and finished materials, they have some local inputs and the also import some machinery and machine tools. Same with energy component of manufacturing, some are locally sourced and some are imported. All these tell on the demand for foreign exchange. Made in China foes not mean everything was manufactured in China. Most chips come from Taiwan and the rest from South Korea. What then is your reason for the continuous fall of the Naira? |
Beverlyjean:With Tinubu as president, the capital of Nigeria will move to London. If you need to see Tinubu or conduct official business you will have to travel to London. |
Kasssandra:Also add that our forex needs were not that great because we were consuming mainly local products. We were driving made in Nigeria cars - Peugeot, Volkwagon, etc., we were wearing mare in Nigeria cloths and shoes - Kano textiles, Bata shoes, etc., we were eating made in Nigeria foods - no noodles, bread, we only eat rice once a year, and won't of all no imported fuels. So what did people need dollars and pounds for? |
bassdow:False. Which 3 continents is Russia bigger than? Maybe Australia and Antarctica. Because North America alone is bigger than Russia. Even South America is bigger than Russia. Africa is way bigger than Russia. Abi your Google don carry virus? |
bassdow:Russia also lost in Afghanistan after 20 years of war. Even in this Ukraine war, the WEST have remained very very careful of their level of involvement.Yes the West have to be very careful, because the West is weary of getting directly in foreign wars. But at the same time they are afraid of Putin doing a Hitler by invading other countries in Europe. Moreover the issue in Ukraine is different from what happened in Afghanistan. How is it different. The people refuse to be invaded and are ready to fight to the last man. |
