I was at the Ounje Eko sales on Sunday March 17th, 2024 at Alubarika Primary school, Bariga, Lagos
The program started quite late for whatever reason. People were set and on queue since 10mins before 11, but the first person was attended to by 12:15pm Wrong, they were only called by that time and were attended to by 1pm, the reason for further delay was network issues (with the payment collection machines?) according to what we heard
There were 3 queues, 2 for females, 1 for males. The female queues were rowdy as they often skipped queues. The male queue would've been quite rowdy if it weren't for volunteer conductors among the people on the queue who don't want people skipping the line, and the respect for the security personnel present, and the perceived frustration exuding from some people on the queue.
At the payment section, you either pay with Cowry or ATM Card (cash was later accepted but I don't know the process) After paying, I was given a voucher for each items I declared that I wanted to buy
By 2:55pm, I was done being attended to by going to the stand for each item I wanted and was given a pack.
I bought: 5kg rice - 5370 ? 1 crate of eggs - 2700 1kg Onions -450
PS: . The last egg I bought at a market was 3,800 for a crate, so I'll say the price if eggs at Ounje Eko was worth my effort.
. The Gaari was well blended and it's not multi purpose. It's better for eba only.
. Some women said the beans wasn't up to their cost expectation. But I suspect they were there to buy and resell.
. I couldn't buy the tomatoes, pepper and chilli because I don't have a fridge. I didn't consider it, so I can't say if it's worth buying.
Overall, I'll say the initiative was a good one. It would've been helpful if the whole payment and booking could be done online, and delivered at one's doorstep, but I understand that people who aren't tech savvy, and are within the targeted tax bracket will likely be left out.
I can't grade the rice quality for now till I prepare it, but I'm sure it's Nigerian rice
Thank you to the: Commissioner for Agriculture, Ms. Olusanya Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Jide Sanwo-Olu
Igbega ipinle Eko, ajumose ni
Any government that takes away your power to feed yourself and starts to feed you is killing you. Its as simple as that..
Of you can take this advice, you will laugh last. The truth is that the dollar is going to crash which will make naira appreciate. But instead of just keeping all your usdt, you can buy cryptos with 20% of that usdt. The 20% you invest will multiply your usdt multiple times in 1-2 years if you have the patience to wait. Cryptos are at their cheapest right now and it will be a sad news if you don't take advantage of the low prices now.
Did you say only a few women are bad? Hmm.. That's actually a naive statement. The fact is that there are bad people and there are good people. Male and female.. Maybe more female sef..
Now it's her fault for accepting a gift from someone? I think we should do away with this type of mentality. I was in the hospital one day when an elderly woman came for her check up, after everything she was given her bill and her children were just pushing it around them. One young guy from no where just came along for her and cleared everything. Assuming she comes back sick, the guy is now a yahoo boy?[
This your story doesn't add up. Just justify what's wrong. An act of kindness is different from receiving gifts from questionable source. I hope you people change your ways and not perish because of love of money.
Why on earth will you a celebrity, a mother allow anyone video you while having sex? God what kind of generation is this? You really messed up this time. And to guys out there, this is the behavior of a typical Nigerian lady,so for the sake of your sanity, choose wisely or don't choose at all.
In a country where so many people need legitimate medical surgeries to save their lives, someone else has money to do butt enlargement surgery, this life no really balance true true.
You met her in-shape (probably curvy shape) you disfigured the shape through childbirth. Can you return her to her original self? No! So you have to pay for the damages. The child bears the man's name
So if she doesn't give birth, her body will still not be disfigured?
Righteousness2: Absolutely and Comprehensively Wrong! You Do not know nor Understand the Mercies of GOD! As long as there is Life! There is a Chance for Mercy and Forgiveness! Mercy Expires at Death.. Once Death falls, it is Over..
The truth is nobody really knows these things, we are all just speculating and hoping our point of view or school of thought is the right one. Bottom line is nobody really knows.
TripleDdotcom: I'm sorry to say but your submission is as wack as fvck
Asking people for sex is in fact the direct opposite of what rape stands for. Rape is sexing someone by force. Their consent isn't required. But you having to ask first and waiting till she gives consent is the opposite of rape.
next time, don't allow your sentiments cloud your judgement my dear. Always use your sense to approach everything no matter how you feel like about that thing.
.........
By the way, please check my signature and patronize us for your data. Na beg I dey beg. Thanks.
Why are you replying someone that didn't go to school. Social media life, even idiots have opinion
So all these babalawos and amadioha powers are really useless, how come they haven't swear for these our leaders let them run mad and enter bush. We cannot continue like this na. Na so we do dey look like mumu for this country?
Vulcanheph: Abeg make I hear word, this is the line that there use to continuously enslave religious fanatics like you..... Isn't there enough churches already in nigeria? The simple truth is that He's building a church that will attract more members who will pay more tithes and bring in more money for him.
You have spoken the truth, if they like let them hear, if they don't, it's their money they put there not yours so leave them alone.
If you notice. All the comments here are coming from men. This is to tell you these naija ladies don't like hearing the truth. No single comment from one lady. But if you post news of boy dumping girl now, you will see comments like water falls.
I believe we can leave together if we had leaders that lead with equity and fairness. Our leaders mismanagement and selfish interest have lead us to this divicise state we present are in. I believe with good governance, we won't even have reasons to fight amongst each other. A typical nigerian is loving and accommodating until we started having unfortunate leaders
sreamsense: The problem with contemporary young generation is that many of you were born into your families when morality vacated your family homes. Being strict is different from being wicked, he is discipling you as his own children so your future can be better, you are here ranting he is wicked.
Many of you just like places you will not be tamed so that you can do whatever you want like forming cult groups on campus, turning campus to Olosho house. If he is not strict and people still allow to do whatever they like, these spoilt rats will still come back here to complain and cast aspersions if any bad thing goes wrong with the school. Go to Catholic schools and see descipline, you these spoilt rats.
Your fathers get money, but lack morality, so when your fathers finally dumb you into CU as correctional center, you begin to misunderstand 'strictness' to ' wickedness' because your fathers failed to even show you '101' of moralities before you left for school because your families lack moralities in the first place. If you like to become wayward and hates descipline, no need of going there, go to federal and state universities and do what you like. Judas Iscariots!
Somebody is sweating to make you great, you call it wickedness! Spoilt rats! Go to volatile areas in North and ask for the meaning of wickedness!
990000] In as much as I agree with this analysis, I need to point out this few facts. 1. You can suspend a student as punishment, to expel is simply callous expecially being a pastor, Jesus Christ was strict but merciful. 2. The people whose offerings and tithes was used to start up the school can't even afford to put there own children in the same school. That is not christlike. 3. I know God blesses men of God( this is subject to interpretation) but when you flaunt wealth in the midst of so much poverty, that is not also christlike. So if we call ourselves christians and Jesus is truly our role model, then we would not act as tyrants..

Is this country redeemable? Please God there has to be a light at the end this tunnel called Nigeria. The kind of rubbish that comes out of public office holders and the confidence they use in spewing the trash is epic. Boko Haram sponsors have been triving for many years, you didn't freeze their accounts, innocent Nigerians are clamouring for just a taste of a better life and you say their accounts are linked to terrorist activities. Remember that POWER is transient, you people will reap what you sow.. that's just basic
new2012: These cruel people in power should know power is transient. They won't be there forever and regardless of the fact that they've secured the wealth of their children, there will be pay back.
Evil does not triumph over good for ever.
But the down side to this logic is that a lot of innocent citizens would have either died of starvation, or have their future mortgaged or render an entire generation hopeless. Think about that. Yes they will pay at some point, but the masses will suffer the most.
Ejenavi18: This young man just wasted his life for nothing. He should have went ahead to clear his name from the accusations levelled against him. No matter what, suicide is never an option.. #SayNoToFalseAccusations! #SayNoToSuicide!
I don't support suicide but I don't think you understand what it is to be falsely accused of rape. Everything he stands for, everything good he ever did, anywhere his name is mentioned, either guilty or not, he is tainted for life.
DuBLINGreenb: Won't happen but las las hush done chop money, flex life, lived lavish, flown choppers, flown private, had the most exotic cars, mingled with celebs obtained connections, became a known international brand.
No jail can take that away from him, if he comes out of prison he will be better than most poor Nigerians because he has a platform, he has connections, he has experience, he is known and so on. He won't be starting from square 1
He can write a bestseller book, be a TV host, sing music people will buy, sell his story to American media companies, work for security organisations abroad etc
Most Nigerians live in houses worst than American prisons me typing this have not seen electricity in 42 hours straight, I paid aboki 50 bucks to charge my phone, American prisons have 24/7 electricity, gym, free TV, free laundry services, free phone calls and free food that is why black Americans even the celebs see jail as an achievement as street cred status bringer
how many haven't been to jail? you tell me as we speak many US celebs are in jail including Steven Spielberg's daughter, R Kelly, Da baby etc Even Robert Downey Jr, Lil Kim, tommy Lee, Mark Wahlberg have all been to U.S prison Their prison is not like our own many come out of jail looking better than they did before they went in.
Those quoting me will chose 10 - 15 years in American prison and a lifetime of living lavish for themselves and their family without thinking twice over being a poor Nigerian from birth to death.
Ask yourself what odds hushpuppi had of being as rich as he was without doing what he did? We all know majority of Nigerians will be born into poverty and will die in poverty but we all want to delude ourselves by thinking "I will be the one to make it" niggger that's what the other 100,000,000 dead Nigerians before you thought, you think every poor Nigerian chose to be poor? or they don't know your God or another one is "if he didn't do crime he would be enjoying by now!" Nigguh enjoying what exactly
Simple question please how many Nigerian lawyers do you know richer than or even half as rich as Hushpuppi? Even the celebs how many of them where as rich as hush? Only the very top 1%
Another quick question? Ask them how many years and how much suffering, and how much connections etc it took them to get that degree and then that position and if the pay for those without connection is adequate, do the same for every other profession except clergy and politicians
And decide for yourself what chance the vast majority of Nigerians have of becoming millionaires or even hundred thousandnaires ?
I'm not encouraging crime please don't do crime but let us be realistic in our thoughts and speech,
I thought if you go to school you must be rich until I was in a slum and a woman told me she did her youth service in taraba, I was surprised I was like wtf excuse me, she said yes she served in.... She didn't know I was thinking shocked thinking to myself "how did you go to school for 17+ years only to end up in this slum in this poverty" I assumed everyone in slums where uneducated never do wells, miscreants etc.
Imagine if she, like most young girls were compelled to sleep with lecturers for grades, or sorted to pass and all that thinking riches were ahead of them upon graduation only to end up in a slum without husband and children hey this isn't fiction this lady was quarrelling with another non educated woman the other day I recorded what the women were using to insult her. Her lack of husband and children she kept saying she sacrificed all that for school and her future but you decide if this is a future worth lossing sleep over
Made4naijalove: Beats my imagination that 'big people' contract the disease more than the hustling people out there
This assertion is not true. Both the rich and the poor are dying of covid. We only hear of the rich because of their fame. The poor ones die and that goes unnoticed. Besides many families of dead covid 19 cases don't come out to say it.
I read comments here and I know this, apart from the fact that most of us are cowards, we would rather die in silence than speak up. I don't want to believe that most comments I read here is the average reasoning of a Nigerian. If it is, we are doomed. And that is the truth... Sadly..
Anuoluwa1234: See dear, let me tell you this in case you don't know. Don't let any spiritual leader fool you, biko Nigerians are damn too gullible for my liking. . I am a Christian, and believe me, am a very spiritual fellow, but I can't cajole you with spirituality . There is spirituality and there is reality. Spirituality is that, God is powerful etc. But the reality is that God is not a Magician. There is a great difference btw God and magicians. Don't dare God at all, we are talking about Virus here biko..( an intracellular obligate parasite). Do you know what that means, of all microns, Virus is still the maddest, they HV no definite shape, they react anyhow.. I weak for this religious ppl hooo
The words of the wise ones ... That part you said Nigerians are too gullible is 100% correct. God help us.
Hmm.. This video is a glimpse of the terrorist capabilities. If this is not nipped in the bud now. They will definitely turn south to other non Muslim states. Then it will become about defend yourselves. Am sure some of these guys have infiltrated the south and west already. Ticking time bomb. God help us.
I don't know what caliber of people comment on nairaland topics or what level of reasoning they have. I must say that am mostly disappointed. A lot of these comments shows that our mental capacity and knowledge of what's going on is at a very low level. Its only a few times you get to read intelligent comments. I think this is part of the reason s we are in the mess we find ourselves.
PS. I might be wrong though, maybe the intelligent ones amongst us don't read or visit nairaland. So I stand to be corrected.
