Wow. Matured thinking and carriage. Reason I always wanna learn more from our mothers of yore. Intelligent, smart, matured, morally sound and enviable women. When love was love. Not polluted by ulterior motives and personal gains. |
GUS TEAM, BRING BACK CHIDI MOKEME. HE IS THE BEST ANCHOR FOR THAT SHOW. AND MAKE IT AN ADVENTURE, AND PROOF OF STRENGTH AND STAMINA. NOT MIND GAMES. That show kinda lost its novelty when the rules changed and the first ever and best host (even after others have come after him)was replaced. |
Uwazuruike also fired a salvo at former President Obasanjo who berated Ojukwu for not showing remorse. Said he: ''It is an insult for Obasanjo to say that Ojukwu did not show remorse for his role in the civil war. Ojukwu couldn't have shown any remorse. Remorse for what? If what happened to Ndigbo had happened to his people, Obasanjo wold have taken the position Ojukwu took. Unless he does not love his people. ''Should Ojukwu show remorse for protecting the lives and property of his people? Or didn't Obasanjo see the pogrom in the North? There was even a point when Ojukwu persuaded those who ran back from the North to go back; that everything was under control, only for them to go back and got massacred. ''How do you make up all these and say that Ojukwu should show remorse? What he did in the first place was logical, legal and advisable. And that was what all other persons could have done under normal circumstances.'' (culled from The Nation, December 3) |
Former Biafran Commander, Col. Paul Ude Okonkwo (rtd) and the leader of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB), CHIEF Ralph Uwazuruike have defended Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu for his role in the civil war, saying that the former Biafran leader never declared war on Nigeria. Both condemned the opinion some people have advanced, that Ojukwu declared war on Nigeria. They insisted that it was the other way round, while Ojukwu rose to the challenge to defend his people who faced extinction threat. Speaking in separate interviews with The Nation, both of them held that the issue that sparked off the war was the 1966 pogrom in the North, where Igbo people were massacred and the subsequent declaration of the Republic of Biafra to give the Igbo a sovereign country of their own ''since they were forced out of Nigeria.'' okonkwo, who is the leader of veteran Biafran Army officers, said: '' We the Ndigbo were the ones who asked Ojukwu to declare the Biafran Republic. It was Nigeria that forced us into war. There was never a time Ojukwu asked us to rise against Nigeria. We only defended ourselves against extinction since they wanted to extend the pogrom to our land. '' We were pursued out of Nigeria. And it was after seeing our people coming back humiliated that we prevailed on Ojukwu to lead us into freedom. If he had not declared the Republic of Biafra, we would have lynched him. He warned us against the consequences of war, telling us that war is not a child's play. But we urged him to go on and give us the Republic of Buafra. Okonkwo, who said he was in the war front throughout the duration of the war alongside the late Col. Timothy Onwuatuegwu, prayed that God would receive the great soul of Ojukwu who he described as a ''great man, an Iroko and the only field marshal from Africa.'' MASSOB leader, Uwazuruike, said: '' Ojukwu did not declare any wad against Nigeria, unless those who do not understand history want to make some mischief. ''Remember that there was the Aburi Accord in Ghana where certain terms were agreed on, which Ojukwu came home to uphold. But unfortunately, Gowon jettisoned it on the advice of his permanent secretaries then. |
you know, this thread reminds me of the movie, ''The Diary of a Tired Black man'', where a Black American guy was asking questions on the streets on why Black American women have anger issues. And a lot of black American men were at loggerheads with their women and their attitudes. A Nigerian guy was also interviewed to talk about African women in comparison with the ones over there. I laughed when the guy was praising African women and Nigerian women in particular. He might have been one of those that used to bash Nigerian women, only to travel out and realize that the greener pastures he thought was outside, was indeed inside. Haha. I think some of these guys that insist on being kids in their way of thinking, need to travel out or marry one of those to come back to reality. They never ask their educated, established, broad-in-thinking buddies why they continue to run back home to marry the same women they might have bashed before. Abeg make una leave your women so saner guys from other countries who worship your women can have a shot. Kids. |
BEST SOLUTION: LET THE MAN EMPLOY THE SERVICES OF A MALE HOUSEHELP WHO IS NEITHER TOO YOUNG(to be able to take care of the kids) NOR TOO OLD. WHO IS SKILLED IN CULINARY SERVICES. That way, he avoids living with temptation under the same roof. Honestly, what God will judge among married couples is plenty. Some women are unbelievable. |
ha! Loooooooooooooooooooooool. |
Well done. But no take dat kin risk again ooo. All these people praising u now won't be there wen u land in serious trouble. |

Abeg una ooo. E don do.@all, I think she was referring to doctors' termimologies, when they say, ''You are HIV positive'' or '' You are HIV negative''. Just that with the second, the person has no HIV at all. But she might have understood it as they both have it, while one is positive, the other is negative. Cut her some slack ooo. People are different. This might not be her strength. But she sure might have areas where she's strong you might not compete with. Besides she's our first lady, give her that respect. |
MODERATORS, DO YOUR JOB AND BLOCK THIS SENSELESS PERSON POSTING CHILDISH STUFF HERE. Or are you people sleeping? |
Na vex dey catch me now sef. Women who don't value committed, loving, caring, every-woman's-dream kind of husbands are usually the ones getting them. And some of the ones who truly are the worthy-to-be-emulated-wives get the opposite. God forbid bad thing. Male friends my foot. A married woman having male friends should be a type of friendship that is open, completely platonic and have set boundaries. The boundaries should even start from the fiance/fiancee stage when she is sure the man is serious about her. I will always continue to praise and admire our mothers in the days of our forefathers. They would have spat in disgust if they heard this. Modernization, reorientation, civilization, my foot. Marriage is a serious thing. Children and the unmarried should rever it and be in awe of it. Instead u see immature, people pleasing, unserious peeps with absolutely no clue as to what it entails, rushing to the altar. |
Most hilarious thread of de year + fakest OP of the century. Looool |
Igbos this, Igbos that. Yet allow them go their own way since u don't seem to like or want them, you refuse. Why? They are formidable? Priceless? Invaluable? Yet somehow i feel if it were the north or west that wanted to leave, there would have been no war or stoppage. |
War is not a good thing. It is only those who know nothing about it that allow their tongues talk without control, wishing for it. If a people or nation is truly made up of sane people, then they should be able to listen to the problems and complaints of one another and do the right thing. Hatred or rivalry among people living within a country is not a good thing at all. If they are tired of staying together, then they should show why they are considered to be better than animals by peacefully going their own way. And the other should not hold them back forcefully. Western influence seems to be a curse in some cases. A truly independent nation should be able to stand on her feet and not be a servant boy to anyone. |
Even till today, Nigerian leaders refuse to be their own decision makers. Foreigners will tell u how to run ur country, and u think they have ur best interest at heart. All the nations and leaders that have caused disunity and rancour in other nations will never know peace. |
How many people will beat their chest for being Nigerians, and how many people for Biafra? |
RIP Dim. Take heart Biafra. Painful loss. Yet i laugh cos,.last time dey hear of biafra,? Lol. |
It is in this day and age that education seems to be the all in all in life. Little wonder women get married in their 30s and men 40s. Young kids having old papa and mama as parents. Instead of parents to enjoy their children and youthfulness by still being in their 40s when their kids are in their mid to late 20s, they become too old for their children to relate with. If you have a partner that understands the importance of education, by all means get married and still go to school. You have such a young man who's serious enough to be ready for marriage at 26, when some in their 40s haven't found their feet. Marry young and you'll be happy you did. |
hmmmmmmm. Jealousy drink? Lol. The real tribalists dont get banned. I wonder. One of them is here. Wonder if it's cos he/she/they re your friends. A moderator is nt supposed to be sentimental. It's funny seeing a tribalist pointing fingers at another. |
