Can you see why UK exempted Nigerian graduates ?

Well, it's obviously not about Nigeria. I don't think they specifically exempted Nigerian graduates. They're only picking from schools that are in the top 50 according to two ranking bodies and this already excludes thousands of schools around the world and implies citizens of many countries won't benefit from the new visa program. However, since these rankings change every year, it's up to the schools/countries to upgrade. If Nigerians are feeling specifically targeted, it's because they believe their schools can never make it to those list. Now, that's sad.

Lol... did you guys read the write-up?

In case you missed the word "exempt", here is the last paragraph:

Meanwhile, checks showed that Nigerian universities do not appear in any of these global rankings.

OP, maybe you should have used a different word. The word "exempt" makes it look like the schools included are bearing the weight of some unwanted obligations, thereby making it seem as it's a good thing Nigeria was 'exempted'. Oh wait, OP is amongst those that didn't read the write-up. Lol

Any reason many people don't like using washing machines in Nigeria? It's not about poverty cause these people have expensive items that are worth more than a washing machine.

It's probably supposed to be protect the party's power to kick candidates out of the race if they need to without legal issues. However, it could have been better stated with conditions under which such would happen instead of just a plain letter of withdrawal.

This is like signing divorced papers before marriage.

Believing:
America is taking the meaning of "free country" to a whole new level

Hhmm... Because she's black or because she's gay or because she's a woman? Which one is mind-boggling? You think her sexual orientation should have been a disqualification factor even if she was the best person for the job? Fact is, when you start considering gender, tribe, race, sexual orientation, etc when electing or appointing public officials, you'd end up with something similar to Nigeria. America has been there, they know better today. Freedom isn't meant for a particular set of people alone. Freedom isn't meant to be upheld only when it pleases us. Freedom only stops when another person's rights are violated. You may not like gay people but there's no logical justifications for antagonizing them.

Education / Re: Evil: African Child At A Zoo In Belgium, 1958 - She Is 60yrs Today by WoundedLamb: 2:53pm On May 05, 2022
Someone said he doesn't care about racism cause nobody can change how he feels. I'm certain this person is in Africa. Racism isn't just about what people say to you, that's old fashioned. Racism is also about denying you what should be yours, and there's no way you cannot care about that. Today, we have systematic racism and unconscious bias to deal with.

When I was a kid, I didn't really have issues with my white friends. But I quickly noticed every "cool" person was white. This included the teachers, lawyers, doctors, news broadcasters, etc. Apart from my parents, I couldn't find black role models out there. I was in Montréal. There were a lot of black immigrants from francophone Africa, but they were mostly refugees struggling to make ends meet, and the educated ones weren't exactly ranking. Glad I had my parents who, at that time, were young and extremely ambitious. This, coupled with the fact that I traveled the world and saw people of color doing great things, boosted my confidence.

Point here is, not every black kid in North America has my kind of parents. Not every black kid in North America has the opportunity to travel the world. Without even coming in direct contact with racists, they're already victims. Thier self confidence is already down there and they've already put a mental cap to how far they can go in life. Any mindset formed at that age is extremely difficult to get rid of. Some black Americans have parents and grand parents that experienced extreme racism firsthand. Some of them are systematically poor and stuck in catch-22 situations. For such people, racism runs deeper. Of course, things are getting better but it's important to note that sacrifices were made. As an African immigrant, one may not really understand these things and one might wonder why black Americans complain a lot.

That said, it's also important to acknowledge our white allies who go out of thier way to speak up against racism and also the companies that have inclusion and diversity at the center of thier operational policies. The truth is, the black man hasn't shown any signs he'd be any better than the white man if the table were turned; not from the way we treat each other. Racism is not an excuse for crime (yahoo). You'd only be proving them right. As Nigerians, I think the focus should be on tribalism.

She's keeping her family away from social media? Y'all always say that's the ideal way of life, so maybe she's doing just that. Moreover, I don't understand this idea of people going online to discuss issues they should be discussing with thier spouses. What exactly do you want a stranger to tell you about your own wife?

Do you really most of our musicians that perform in western countries have the citizens of those countries as audience? It's mostly Nigerians and other Africans/Caribbeans in these host countries that come to enjoy the show. Even if the artist is not your favorite, you'd still likely be there just to have fun and network with other Nigerians in a relaxed environment.

You see how you said "Africa" and not Togo or Congo? That's also how they view it.
Politics / Re: African Leaders Should Stop Being Summoned By One Single Country by WoundedLamb: 1:59pm On May 04, 2022
They can only refuse to answer but they won't and there are a couple of reasons for this. First is the obvious reason. If the summoner is offering some kind of help and not just a business proposal meant to benefit both parties, then it makes sense for the summoner to call them together and save resources and in this case, the African leaders wouldn't be in any position to protest that.

But we know they also get summoned even for mutually beneficial business proposals. When it comes to business, it is not really about the size of the country or the amount of respect the summoner has for the continent. It's more about the economic worth of the entire exercise. If the summoner wants to engage in some business worth billions of dollars, calling on the US or Germany alone might be sufficient. However, to get that amount from Africa, a few Africa countries must come to together as an entity. For such a summoner, it makes business sense to call them together. Can Togo alone bring to the table what the UK would bring?

Imagine you have a company called Taco Inc. with 200 branches in your home country, Nigeria, and you recently opened 2 more in Ghana (one in the North and one in the South). In your organizational structure, you want to arrange your financial reports by region to maximize resources and simplify business intelligence. Which of the following options would you adopt?

A) @NigeriaNorth, @NigeriaSouth @NigeriaWest, @NigeriaEast, @GhanaNorth and @GhanaSouth

B) @NigeriaNorth, @NigeriaSouth @NigeriaWest, @NigeriaEast, @Ghana

That's exactly how it works at the international level as well. Microsoft used to have Microsoft South Africa, Microsoft Egypt, Microsoft Microsoft WECA (West, East and Central Africa), etc. And this was how they used to summon the regional managers for updates. About 5 years ago, they recognized Microsoft Nigeria because thier investments in the country became big enough to dedicate resources to them and treat them as an entity.

They might be some bias of course, but that's surely not the driving factor. It's more about business and when you get rid of emotions, you'd agree that Congo alone might not worth the engagement. Sad but true.

Gainman:
4get stories. I gave u d instance of the gospel singer who died. When all d women were condemning all men generally.where were u

You see how you started off by saying things like women do it for money while men don't, only abokies do it while it is the beautiful classy ones that do it on the women's side, it's better for society to have rotten men, etc. And then finally, the only defence you have "but women call out men". That's evidence that all the excuses you gave above are BS.

People blamed Osinschi for staying in the marriage despite what she was going through. People called her husband wicked. Nairaland women did not gather to call thier husbands, brothers, sons and fathers murderers cause of the man's action. If there were such comments on here, it would be a handful of them from a certain set of users. It is nothing compared to how almost all the guys here always call out a whole gender every time a woman is a culprit but focus on the region or religion when it is man. It has been about Nigerian girls since this video came out and yet you have some men raping every living thing around them and nobody is talking about Nigerian men. You think ladies don't have endless list of things to call out men for if they really wanted to?

And just to answer your question, here is a list of non abokies doing it with beasts:

This did it with a goat in Ekiti:
https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://neptuneprime.com.ng/2020/03/nigerian-boy-caught-sleeping-with-goat-in-an-uncompleted-building/%3Famp&ved=2ahUKEwixhPDD3sD3AhUCQ80KHR3oDGQQFnoECAcQAQ&usg=AOvVaw1PlcNmKqnAs7j6RW17QWx3

This one did it with a pregnant goat in Benin:

This one did it with a dog in Benin
https://www.google.com/amp/s/newswirengr.com/2014/08/15/19-year-old-nigerian-explains-why-he-sleeps-with-dogs-for-sexual-desire/amp/

There are more. Some did it for money, some for fun. So I guess it's safe to say Nigerian men are greedy too. Dude, whatever it is you're saying about Nigerian women also applies to the men. That is why you must stay away from such . If your sisters, wives and mothers are all greedy people, what really makes you think you'd be any different? Did you fall from heaven? You guys just come online to trash yourselves in the name sexism. Shame. I wonder the kind of family y'all come from. I really pity the women in your family.

I'm done with you. Go and keep embarrassing yourselves on the Internet for the world to see.
