That lizard will never bite the hand that feeds him. Any other person that gets within striking range might indeed suffer a serious bite to his blokkos that could result in emergency amputation of the offending member, but the animal clearly loves his Oga unconditionally, therefore all is well in the known universe at this time.

I don't think they go out of thier way to attack humans unless they are "manhandled". Even at that, thier venoms aren't effective in humans. It's mostly about the pain of the bite itself, no amputation required.

bn365:

Well, I knew you were a rambler the minute I read your first post.
Again, I will highlight my question: Name one country in Africa where Russia has intervened in their internal politics

I'll be willing to engage further but if you choose to gloss over it, I'll pass

Why would I want to engage you knowing fully well that you'd dogde the subject when presented with facts? You're making your point with Covid-19 conspiracy and I'm the rambler. I know you're hoping for this to degenerate into calling names and baring fangs, but that's not my thing. Despite your unpleasant approach to debates, I'll gladly engage you on the subject of Russian military activities on the continent of Africa side-by-side that of the US. That's an interesting topic. But you have to first admit that the US has shown support to other countries of the world than Russia has. That's the bone of contention. Then we can proceed to the countries Russia has directly or indirectly interfered in.

My comment you quoted suggested that Russia doesn't care about others and you called me out for this. There is no need to get slippery now. You can't get me on a wild goose chase. Regardless of whatever you have against the US, the country has been there for other countries far more than any other in the world and Russia is not even close. I gave you my reasons and you claim you're too busy to counter them. But you have the time to change the topic.

Again, I'd like to reiterate that I don't have the time nor the patience.
You just came out a few weeks ago from a pandemic and global lockdown courtesy of the US Pentagon, CIA, and state dept.
That ought to have given you a glimpse into the kind of tyranny with which the US and its allies run the globe. The control the narrative, so you're not allowed to talk about the

You don't have the time nor the patience to address the detailed data-driven comparison I gave to you regarding who has contributed more to the welfare of other countries between the US and Russia but you somehow have the time and patience to reply my comments with baseless chit-chats and conspiracy theories.

Are you even reading the things you're typing in response to mine? Some South African leaders studied in Russia. America wants to kill the world with Covid-19. What next? 5G network, Pope John Paul, Illuminati, one world order? Dude, you can argue about Covid-19 and it's origin in another conversation but talking about Covid-19 while refusing to showcase how Russia has outdone the US in showing care for other countries is a deliberate attempt to steer of the subject. It's strawman's argument, something only connered people do. No one falls for that these days.

Russia has not and will probably never show care nor support for other countries half as much as the US has regardless of the terms of judgment. You can hate the US as much as you like but arguing that bit would be foolishness cause figures don't lie.

You're still going to continue with your chit-chat while not having the time to address my response.
Career / Re: How I Got Fired From Chevron By A Gay Boss by WoundedLamb: 6:06pm On Apr 06, 2022
OP, I don't know how true this is, but it's not entirely unbelievable cause these things really happen. Though it would have been better if you had told us the events that eventually led to you getting kicked out, so we can decide for ourselves to what extent they are connected to your "love affair" with the boss. Nevertheless, this is does not undermine your story cause whether you got kicked out or not and whether you really did something bad to justify or necessitate getting kicked out do change the fact that your boss erred.

I don't care about his sexuality. He was going to cheat on his wife. He was going to violate office policies by trying to engage his junior colleague in an amorous relationship. He didn't know when to stop. And to make it worse, he allowed that to influence his disposition towards you. Such people shouldn't be in corporate organizations. I mean, if you went through this in the hands of a man who is a member of the minority in terms of sexual orientation, can we now begin to imagine what ladies go through everyday? It's so disconcerting and it pains me that you guys take these things without having anyone to run to. Otherwise, you shouldn't leave your job in a multinational organization cause of one man who's not the owner. That bit is hard to believe cause such organizations have strong HR. What's the worst that could happen? You were already on your way out anyway.

Sorry about your ordeal. He will meet his match some day.

I would have taken my time to really dissect your non-argument but i really don't have the time BUT...I'll leave you with this:

Russia has been in Africa way more than you want to give them credit.
US-supported apartheid in South Africa. Some of the people in [ANC]Govt today in South Africa studied in Russia
While the CIA was overthrowing African leaders, Russia was succor.
Read about communism and liberation movements in Africa

Russia's contribution to the continent of Africa is that some South African leaders studied in Russia? This is your highlight? I gave you a rundown of how the US is the world's highest benefactor with figures and Russia is not even in the first 20. I pointed out how Russia has also done a lot military interventions which you used to discredit the US. And your response is, some South African leaders studied in Russia. With this response, I'm inclined to believe it's not the time you don't have but the points to engage. If I had engaged you with the normal Nairaland name calling, insults and emotional arguments, you would have gladly engaged me. It's not like I really expected a strong argument cause there's really nothing to compare. But your response is sidesplitting to say the least.

Putin has cared about other countries more than USA has... He has helped Africa more...

Sponsoring or intervening in wars in other countries is not care (that's all USA does)

And how have they shown this care, brother? Did you just make this statement just for argument sake or you can really defend it? It's Russia we are talking about here, not China. What has Russia done for other countries compared to the US? With which economy have they done that? In what terms exactly? Humanitarian aids? Direct investments? Military or trade? Russia is nowhere on top of the list here. Russia only started romancing Africa in 2007 in a bid to expand thier influence and dealt mostly in arms and oil excavation (Rusel) before eventually becoming a noticeable trading partner in 2015.

The US provides the highest humanitarian aid to other countries in the world budgeting more than 0.5% of thier GNI for this. Your country, Nigeria, is in the top 10 recipient list (a total of $729.22m in 2017). Many global bodies have the US as thier major benefactor. Who has Russia helped? What has Russia done for your country? Does Russia even take up to 500 refugees in a year? Even when some countries face serious natural disasters, how much assistance does Russia give? Even South Korea does more than Russia.

In terms of foreign direct investment (FDI), the US is only second to the Netherlands. In terms of contribution to global research and education, the US, China and Japan take the lead. Why do you think other countries call on the US when they feel overwhelmed. Again, even your country, Nigeria, has repeatedly asked for US intervention in the fight against terrorism.

You talk about wars and military activities/intervention to discredit the US and yet, this is the only aspect where Russia is actually openly competing with the US. Though nothing compared to the US, Russia has military bases in other countries too. Russia has sent troops to countries too including Croatia, Sierra Loan, Sudan, Chad, Central African Republic, Burkina Faso, Chad, Mali, Mauritania, Niger and many other countries (some invited, others uninvited). In fact, they also sent troops to Afghanistan just like the US did and they once took over Kabul and a great portion of the country too.

The US is powerful because many countries and global bodies are tapping from her abundant resources. This gives them a say in what happens around the world. Russia can't attain such height by military might alone. Russia has to actually be seen to really care about other countries if they must be regarded. I can't believe you made me do this apple and orange comparison.

No vex bro, I was just shocked cheesy

I knew you were not in the country. NIN stands for National Identification Number and it's a unique number assigned to a Nigerian individual living in the country just like the SSN in the U.S.

The initial thought was valid but the implementation was very bad just the way everything is with the country.

In a bid to check cyber crime and other nefarious activities, the government insists all mobile lines are linked to your NIN for easy traceability.

Great. So my understanding is that one would need to go to some office with valid ID's to obtain this number and them electronically link it up with thier bank account, SIM cards, tax records, driver's license, insurance records, etc. Wow... Considering the fact that such a number is usually linked to virtually all aspects of one's life, I wonder how the government intends to optimize the benefits. Whichever way, that's a big project for both the government and the citizens. Creating citizens DB from scratch is huge.

As a software architect, I know how frustrated users get when the system ain't working as expected. But then again, the truth is, such large integrated systems hardly work precisely as expected at go-live. It takes series of post implementation fixes to perfect things. I'd like to believe the process will become less tacky and more seamless with time. I just hope the government will make the best use of it.

Thank you. I'll read more about it.

NK have been testing missile for years but that statement by the new SK government is something any country will take seriously.
You can't preemptive attack a nuke nation, USA that has the capacity rolled it back against Iran and N.Korea

True. But of course they can't. He said their military should be boosted to have the capability to carry out preemptive attack. In other words, they should have what it takes to do it if necessary. This is similar to the way Kim said his country has what it takes to level the US sometime ago. The truth is, as provoking as that might sound, it is a goal of every military outfit to be capable of carrying out preemptive attacks. Any military that doesn't have what it takes to do that cannot defend a nation. Even Yoon himself knows he'll lose the West if he strikes first. It was a war of words with each party trying to scare the other.

It can surely be argued that he took it too far, I'm not making a case for him (I personally do not like his ideologies). North Korean response is not out of place too. My point is, no one has struck the other yet and there's no need to take sides. I'm saying this cause of the first commenter who's already calling imaginary people names for the sympathy they've not even shown to South Korea yet. I have noticed many people on this platform tend to support anything the seems to go against the US regardless of the circumstances and they'd gladly side with the North Korean government due this dangerous anti-West sentiment.

If you read his words, the president-elect called for the military to be boosted to have preemptive attack capabilities. He didn't say they were going to attack the North. And he made the statement after the North tested two intercontinental ballistic missiles in February and March. Each side is trying to intimidate the other by words or actions.

Foreign Affairs / Re: South Korea And North Korea Tensions by WoundedLamb: 2:07am On Apr 05, 2022
Isn't it funny that the person above called others media controlled while basing his comment on what he just read from the same media? This isolated piece of information taken out of context is enough for him to take sides already and call others names without any hesitation, and he thinks he's not media controlled himself? I'm almost certain he didn't even bother to check what the South Korean defense Minister said that riled up the North Korean woman. I'm sure he didn't bother to find out why he said what he said. I'm not taking sides in the North and South Korean crisis but it would be shameful if y'all decide to stand with the North simply because the US appears to support the South. You should, at least, try to find out what the issue between the two entities is before letting the anti-West sentiment influence your stance.

Just to provide some context, the most recent war of words between the countries started when North Korea tested two intercontinental ballistic missiles in February/March as a show of strength in the face of the ever escalating tension between the two countries. In response, the South Korean defense Minister reiterated that South Korea’s military has a variety of missiles with the ability to accurately and quickly hit any target in North Korea. He also said his office will equip thier military to ensure it's able to respond to the threats of the enemy. This statement, coupled president-elect Yoon's call for thier military to be equipped to be capable of carrying out preemptive attacks if necessary, is what prompted this response.

At this point, each party is simply chest beating and trying to intimidate the other by a show of strength or the use of words. Whatever the Southern guys said is nothing compared to what the North has said to the US in the past. Point is, there's simply no reason to take sides and call others names at the moment (though I'm open about the fact that I'm not a fan of the new South Korean president). I just don't know why people appear to be fanning the embers of war when they should be decrying it. Sad.

You sanctioned a country yet you are the ones suffering from the effect of the sanctions

The US and Canada were not really reliant on Russian gas. In fact, Canada did not import any from Russia in 2020 and the US hardly goes above 3% gas import from Russia. So the sanction doesn't change gas availability in the US. Those that cross over to buy from Mexico don't do that cause there's a gas shortage. They do that just to reduce cost (since gas is subsidized in Mexico). This didn't just start today. It has always been like this even before the sanction. It only became apparent now cause of the global rise in price. Mexico is the 11st highest producer of oil while the US is the first, that should account for something.

Me no sabi English but make no stupid girl way no sabi anything allow person hear word

No sir, it doesn't really work that way. If someone touches you without your concent, it's sexual harassment (and you can sue for that). If you approve by words or actions, you lose the legal ground. Whichever way, it doesn't not justify forcefully inserting anything in anyone's vagina or anus. When she did the touching, OP had the right to sue but he probably concented by his actions. But when OP wanted to do the inserting, she refused both by her words and her actions (apparently, she had her limit set before coming over). Yet he forcefully had his way, that's simply rape. Someone that touches you might want to cuddle or make out with you. You can drag such a person to court if you want to. You can say no to the person and go your way. You can also decide to do it with them. But you can't just decide to rape them cause they touched you first. We can argue this on here and make the OP feel good but if this goes to court, he'll need more than that to scale through. If this was a trap, he completely fell for it.

OP, I don't know what you want to hear but you first need to acknowledge that forcefully fingering her is rape, it's penetration. If she didn't want you in her, she didn't want you. This is regardless however she was dressed, however she spoke to you or sat near you. No is no. Did it occur to you that she probably just wanted to cuddle or make out? Did it occur to you that she just needed some assurance before going all the way? These things might not make sense to you, but it is well within her rights. She had her limit set before coming and you forcefully crossed it. You inserted your finger into her vagina (probably hoping to turn her on) and you still need someone to tell you that was rape? Were you hoping to gain social media validation? I don’t think there's any way around this one, sir. You raped her. That's the legal definition of what you did.

On the hand, she might have set the trap for you herself (note that this does not justify your actions nor does it change the fact that you willingly did it) and you completely fell for it. The surrounding circumstances could be used in your favour (fortunately or unfortunately, this is the nature of law). However, don't rely on this. Whatever you do, it will be in your best interest to settle this with her out of court.
