I don't know why you guys like gender wars a lot. Men rape people everyday and we read about it here but people don't insult the male gender or say "peniz people". Instead, we call out the individual involved. But because it's a lady involved, you're already using dirty words on the entire gender. You're saying if it were a man, is threatening to rap.e a bigger offense than rap.e itself? Since men have been rap'ing, has the sky fallen?

Bros, ur words betray u:

"Your questions make little to no sense when you consider the fact that the majority of those who are saying Nigerian girls should be like their American counterparts haven't lived in the US too."

This is u questioning their competence on d issue. So what are u denying when ur words are in full glare?

Since u no d difference between living in a country & visiting a country, how does mentioning ur visiting nigeria add to ur competence about d subject matter?

Whether u counter logic or u don't counter logic, d point is that u are as incompetent to generalise on nigerian men as those guys who u say shouldn't speak on American women because they haven't lived in America. So all those other issues u are trying to lay emphasis of who or what I am aren't part of d discussion. D discussion is u on one hand with ur following generalisations:

"I'm a man. I never lived in Nigeria and I don't think y'all are any better. You're mentioning flowers as if you don't see American men buying expensive jewelries for their women. American men respect their women. They don't try to control them or try to turn them into house chore machines. They contribute to home keeping and most importantly, they don't go around calling anyone they see OLOSHO. African men are control freaks and they try to cage women while they explore the world. You wanting your women to be like American women but not willing to be like American men is delusional. Men receive these gifts in the US cause they put themselves a position that makes it clear they also have needs. African men are 'the bosses', they shouldn't expect to be treated otherwise."

and d other set of guys on d other hand who u have said are generalising about American women.
Dude, read those words again and stop embarrassing yourself. I did not question thier competence, I only pointed why the questions you asked me where senseless. I said the questions you asked made no sense cause even those who talk about American women haven't been to America too. Technically, that means one doesn't have to have lived somewhere to know about the place. I'm only responsible for what I type. You are responsible for how you understand it.

I mentioned I've visited Nigeria cause it's one of my sources of information. Living in Nigeria on the other hand is an entirely different thing. I've never lived in Nigeria, I'll probably never live there and I like I said, I need not live there to know about the country.

You can keep whining all you want about my approach to dismantling the argument of sexist Nairalanders but provided the I've succeeded in making them see the loopholes in thier sexist comments, I'm fine.

Christianity EtcRe: One of the most idolatrous activities is around the corner. by WoundedLamb: 1:07am On Dec 17, 2020
elated177:
The foundation:

John 3:16 For YHVH so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Every other thing in the Righteous Walk is built upon the above.

Now, consider this:

John 15:10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love.

Keep the Ten Commandments of Yahveh Almighty. If you have not realized it yet, Yahushua the Messiah is the embodiment of the Ten Commandments. So, I don't know what you meant be people having different believes and all. All the saints of Yahushua the Messiah are united by ONE factor: OBEDIENCE to his COMMANDS.

No saint of Yahushua the Messiah should join the world and celebrate the idolatrous Christmas. We should rather abhor it.

This message does not have any kind of gun to anyone's head or sword to anyone's throat to compel them to celebrate or not celebrate the idolatry called Christmas. Those for whom they have been sent will receive it.

Celebrate the Saviour of the world by obeying his Commandments. This is what those who claim they are celebrating the Messiah in Christmas detest... obedience to his Commandments.
So where did the bible say they should not celebrate the coming of Christ?
Christianity EtcRe: One of the most idolatrous activities is around the corner. by WoundedLamb: 10:07pm On Dec 16, 2020

What do you mean by what I believe? Isn't the Scripture supposed to be the guide for everyone who claims to follow the Owner of the Scripture?

Actually, this message is telling the saints of Yahushua the Messiah, who may have been ignorantly celebrating the idolatry, to come out of such idolatry.

No matter how hard you try to interpret the idolatry called Christmas, you will always fail because the Scriptures, which are the guide, do not approve of it. Celebrate the Saviour of mankind by obeying his Commandments. That is all.
Like I said, if we all start calling each other out for the differences in believe, the world will explode. They are things you believe are ideal and there are things others believe to be ideal too. When it comes to Christmas, the bible didn't say you should or should not celebrate the coming of Christ. So let those that want to celebrate it do so.
Christianity EtcRe: One of the most idolatrous activities is around the corner. by WoundedLamb: 9:43pm On Dec 16, 2020
elated177:
My religion is strict, complete and absolute obedience to my Master and Saviour, Yahushua the Messiah, the embodiment of the Ten Commandments of my Father in heaven, Yahveh of Hosts. Anyone who does this is a saint of Yahushua the Messiah. This is the religion of such individuals. They are the ones this particular message is mainly meant for.

Celebration may be celebration, like you opined. However, not everything the world celebrates will be celebrated by the saints of Yahushua the Messiah.

On the contrary, every celebration that the Scriptures have not explicitly prescribed for the saints must be jettisoned.

Those who have picked a day to celebrate their Jesus can go ahead and celebrate their Jesus, if they so wish and desire. However, so long as the Scriptures have not sanctioned such celebration, they should know that they are not doing it for the Saviour of the world, the begotten Son of the Creator of heaven and earth, Yahveh El Shaddai.
That's what you believe. Doing what you believe is good. They are doing what they believe. No one needs to keep calling the other out. Like I said, Jesus came to save mankind and I think that coming is worth celebrating. So if they have chosen to celebrate it in December, that's their business. You don't need to call them out. Peace

Bros, these are ur exact words that supports location determining knowledge of culture:

"Your questions make little to no sense when you consider the fact that the majority of those who are saying Nigerian girls should be like their American counterparts haven't lived in the US too."

Here's ur first comment that was full of generalisations. D same generalisations u say shouldn't be applied in assessing d generosity of American women:

Am not going round in circles. Am only pointing out how u feel others are incompetent to talk about American women when they haven't lived in d US but u feel u are competent to generalise about nigerian men just because ur relatives are nigerians despite u haven't lived in Nigeria.

Now ur story has changed from "I have never lived in Nigeria" to "I have visited nigeria a couple of times".

So since u are saying no more generalisations, it's obvious that because ur parents & relatives are nigerians, u watch Nollywood and read Nigerian contents online or u have been on nairaland for 10years, doesn't give u adequate knowledge of nigerian men & women as relates to d subject matter as u earlier claimed. If d gentlemen who generalised about Americanan women strayed in their assessment by generalising, it didn't serve ur argument much good by also generalising when u had d same shortcomings as they did
I don't feel others are in incompetent to discuss American women. Your understanding skills aren't that great, no offense intended. If you read that message again, you'd understand I was only pointing out the fallacy in your argument where you asked how I got to know about Nigeria since I haven't lived in Nigeria. That was your argument and I responded that that question is simply senseless cause those who talk about American women haven't lived in America too. I don't know how you came into the conclusion that I feel others are incompetent to discuss American women while I was using the opposite of that to point out your weak argument.

My story hasn't changed, you need to learn the difference between living in a country and visiting a country. It's not my fault if you don't know that difference. I have never lived in Nigeria and anyone who says he's lived in the US just because he visited a couple of times is delusional to say the least.

Obviously, you don't understand the concept of counter logic. Counter logic is simply used to point out the weakness of the other party's argument. If you say Nigerian women should be like American women just because of Cardi B, then you must also say that Nigerian men should be like American men just because of my dad. By the time you starting pointing how all American men are not like my dad, you'll also begin to appreciate the fact that not all American women are like Cardi B. That is the end goal, and as far I'm concerned, it served my argument PERFECTLY fine.

Sorry but it appears formal argument is not your strength.

Am only following up ur response that d guys celebrating American ladies haven't been to d states just as u have never been to Nigeria. So if u say u haven't been to Nigeria yet u no d culture because of ur relatives, then how can u then claim that d guys who celebrate American ladies don't no d culture when u don't no if they have relatives in d US?

Now, u are saying that ur relatives treat their wives right because they embrace western culture. Pls is it all westerners that cook for their wives? Since u have never been to Nigeria how can u be sure that we don't men in Nigeria who buy gifts for their wives& girlfriends and cook for them? Or do ur relatives now have a knowledge of what transpires in every home & relationship in Nigeria?

So since u say generalisation shouldn't be used as a basis to.judge d generosity of American women, how come u are now generalising nigerian men just because u are on nairaland for 10years& ur relatives are nigerians? Have u ever been in Nigeria & interacted with a Nigerian lady in Nigeria? Can ur relationship with ur relatives make up for that experience u have never had with a Nigerian lady? Have u ever encountered a Nigerian man in Nigeria and observed him first hand here in Nigeria? Can ur relatives adequately make up for d deficiency in ur first hand experience about what transpires in Nigeria?
You keep running around. I never said one needs to live in a location to know about the culture. I mentioned different ways we can know about a culture without necessarily living in the place where the culture is practiced. And to emphasize my point, I said even those who talk about American women haven't been to America too. That was my response to your question regarding how I got to know about Nigerian men if I haven't lived in Nigeria. Surprisingly, you're still asking questions like "how did you know this if you haven't lived in Nigeria". Stop running in circles, we've both established that one does not have to live in Nigeria to know about Nigerians just like one does not have to live in the US to know about Americans. I've told you how I know everything I know about Nigeria: I've visited Nigeria, I've spent a decade on this platform, I watch Nollywood and read Nigerian contents online, I have Nigerian parents and relatives, etc.

Not all American men treate their wives like my father and not American women buy gifts like Cardi B too. So saying Nigerian women should be like thier American counterparts just because of Cardi is where the generalization started. And if we're going by that, then Nigerian men should also be like my father. My point is, if we are dropping generalization, let's drop it for both genders and be sensible. But if you agree with those shouting Nigerian women should be like American women then you have no logical reason to counter me when I say Nigerian men should also treat women like my father

You are asking if I've ever encountered a Nigerian man in Nigeria for a first hand study. The same you agreed with me that people don't need to live in the US to know about American women. Why are you running in circles? Have all those NL boys shouting Nigerian women should be like American women had any experience with American women? Do they think it's all about gifts? Have they asked themselves why Nigerian men in the US go back home to look for wives? Well, like I said in the second post you quoted, I've visited Nigeria a couple of times.

Do u no if d guys saying nigerian girls should be like American girls have parents and relatives in d US? So they need not live in d US to no about their culture.

Since u say ur parents & relatives are nigerians & u understand d nigerian culture, how ur parents (dad in this case) and relatives buy gifts for their wives and girlfriends?

Have u witnessed anyone buying a gift for his girlfriend or wife on nairaland? Is it all American men that buy jewelry for their women? Is that how they share jewelry for women in America?

According to u:

"Men receive these gifts in the US cause they put themselves a position that makes it clear they also have needs."

How do American men do d above differently from Nigerian men? When nigerian men do it, how does d average nigerian girl respond?
So why were you then asking how I got to know about men in Nigeria knowing fully well that I don't need to live there to know about the culture? I pointed that out to you so that you'd see there was no sense in those questions you asked me in your first post cause even people talking about American women haven't lived in the US too. So one doesn't need to have lived somewhere to know about the people. And you're here even emphasizing my logic and scoring points against yourself.

I have relatives. They buy gifts for their wives, their wives buy gifts for them. But most importantly, they treat their wives as equals. My father would cook if my mum was on night shift. My father was doing virtually everything my mum was doing, it was just a matter of who was available. They accepted the North American lifestyle and lived with it. I'm afraid I can't say that for other families in Africa.

It's not all American men that buy gifts for their women. It's also not all American women that buy gifts for their men. They don't share cars for men in America too. So when you go around saying Nigerian women should be like American women cause of a few videos you see online, you should also consider the fact that it's not all American women that buy gifts for their men.

By saying Nigerian men should put themselves in a position that makes it clear they also have needs, I meant they should get rid of their superiority complex and embrace equality. You can't keep claiming you're the superior gender and still expect the so called inferior gender to buy gifts as much as you buy for them. You think men in Africa behave the way they do cause of the way women would respond if they do otherwise but the truth is that women in Africa behave the way they do cause of the way men in Africa have been treating them right from time. Your culture encourages treating them pieces of jewelry and they have learned to sit back and behave just like that.

Nice question. I think the government is taking the first step in a direction we all know already (or maybe I'm just being optimistic). Short term visitors don't need Nigerian numbers generally and longterm visa holders (permanent residents, students or those with work permits) would be given a means of identification that has a number they can use to register thier SIM cards. Something like the NIS number. This will enrich our database if effectively implemented.

That is exactly the question OP was asking. The poor guy is not this unidentifed people who you said deliberately distorted history. He is only a Nairalander who created a thread asking a question he thinks is worth discussing. You could educate us all if you know better; I believe that is why the thread was created. But calling him delusional, inferiority complex case, etc. was uncalled for because at the end, no one learns and the whole essence of the thread is lost.

What are you talking about there were no Nigerians before the middle ages... Probably black Indians
I think the OP is talking about any aboriginal people inhabiting the landmass called Nigeria today (their race wouldn't matter if they were really the forefathers of our oldest empires). He probably used the expression "ancient Nigeria" for want of a better word. Lol.
PoliticsRe: Did Nigerians Conquer Southern Europe In The Middle Ages? by WoundedLamb:
OP, I personally believe the controversial Moors of African descent were majorly North Africans. If the location called Nigeria had aboriginal inhabitants then (I believe this is what you meant by 'ancient Nigeria' cause there was no Nigeria then) and some of these inhabitants were among the Moors explorers, we'd still never know cause like someone already pointed out, our history is not well documented. However, there's no indication whatsoever that any group of people from the present day Nigeria ever explored the world. So while I could be wrong, I think we all know the answer to this.
PoliticsRe: Did Nigerians Conquer Southern Europe In The Middle Ages? by WoundedLamb:
Aconomist:
This is delusion. Who cares about Southern Europe? We have the Benin Empire, Bornu Empire, Sokoto Caliphate, etc. to be proud of. That fact that you want to leapfrog all our indigenous civilizations to talk about Southern Europe reeks of an inferiority complex.
Dude, if you are not interested in the topic, just move on. Must y'all always be aggressive onhere? Why do you guys like to shout down other people? So if history is not about the empires you mentioned, it's no longer worth discussing at all? Are you not a Nairalander, why not create a thread about the empires you mentioned and let the OP discuss the one that interests him? Must you aggressively push your preferences down other people's throats?

Inferiority complex? So when Europeans discuss how the whites colonized Africa, it's not inferiority complex; but when Africans discuss how the Moors ruled southern Europe, you start shouting inferiority complex. Apparently, most of you guys that shout inferiority complex here don't even know anything about racial dichotomy. You guys are just so insecure in your own skin that everything appears as an attack to you. The OP is talking about a very controversial topic a lot of people don't know about (I'm pretty sure you don't know a thing about that subject too) and you're here shutting him down just to appear woke.
