Dead bones shall rise again. |
Nice. But each one is termed "first"? The one Adesua Etomi and co did last year was also called "first". |
Comparing your girlfriend with your computer is like comparing two classes that do not have a common super/base class, abstract or interface. It simply does not make any sense. You should know this as a critical thinker a programmer is expected to be. Stop asking dumb questions, it does not reflect well on programmers. |
The snake's name sounds like an Igbo name. Lol. |
Racoon:Well, that's still historic. |
What a loss! |
The title made it look as if he said we need to ensure zero oil export to in order to grow the economy. But I figured he was rather saying we can grow the economy even with zero oil export. Lexical ambiguity. |
From one crises to another. |
Hhmm... if Nigeria were to be your son, would you say he's got a bright future? I wish y'all the best. |
Lol... The fact that it was written twice suggests that whomsoever that printed that actually didn't know it's "alleviation". Calmblaze, I noticed you were calling mods in your diary. I was wondering why you were doing that considering the fact that dairies can't be moved to the front page cause people can't comment on them. Anyway, I decided to use this thread to wish you well. Like you said, we all have our burdens. The least we could do is to try as much as possible to encourage one another. |
It's only animals that behave in that manner. |
bn365:This is actually not an argument about whether the vaccine has side affects or not. This is about correctly stating what the news outlet said. I believe if you have your opinions or facts, you should state them without muddling things up just to score points. What you stated above is a recent development the OP didn't even know about as of the time he created this thread so it's not a justification for the unnecessary sensationalism. The OP could go ahead and create a thread stating that some people who volunteered to be vaccinated developed the condition you stated and everyone will express their views without issues. |
Stanl3y:The fact that you didn't hear about it might not necessarily mean it wasn't significant but perhaps, it was relatively peaceful. |
Earlier police said there had been 21 cases of election-related violence since Monday, leaving five people dead. The African signature. |
If transgenderism is not criminalized in India, then there's no logical justification for not covering them. Rape is a violation against a human being irrespective of the gender. Why then would the choice of gender now make some people to be excluded when both genders could be raped anyway? Rape is a big issue in India and throwing these people to the hungry lions is outrightly unfair. |
Oche211:I don't agree with her but that's exactly how Nairaland boys talk about ladies every minute onhere. They go about calling ladies all sorts of names and blaming them for every single thing. Now a lady is doing the same and she's being roasted on front page. Lol. |
psucc:Apart from HEP C (which has been wiped out), how many viruses out there have a cure? Viruses mostly 'live out thier lifespan' and go on their own. Drugs taken when one has a virus are mainly to contain the symptoms and reduce the rate of spread. It would take the world countless number of years to find a cure (that if they eventually do). On the other hand, vaccines are gotten from studying the residue in those that have survived the disease. It's faster to get and it's preventive. Ignoring vaccine (preventive) and searching for a cure (corrective) for a virus is not science but foolishness. |
But what pleasure do you guys get from all these sensationalism and fake alarms. CNN was clear on their submission They gave reasons why the elderly are first in line for the vaccine. They, however, also reminded us that these aged people in nursing homes die naturally every now and then so the world should not panick if an elderly man dies after the vaccination cause it wouldn't necessarily mean the vaccine is the cause. This cautioning is very necessary cause the moment anyone who has received the vaccine dies for any reason, people like OP would be the first to run to Nairaland to create a thread about people have been dying in thousands after receiving the vaccination. |
6) Some of them don't edit their threads. These ones copy and past their contents on NL without bothering to take a second look at what they are dishing out to their readers. They end up not achieving their goal of attracting traffic to their sites/blogs. |
BafanaBafana:Thanks. I don't agree with the softlanding you gave for men. Many criminals and drug lords are known to have tattoos, dreads, black lips, red eyes, etc. There are exceptions but in as much as we are against profiling, let's not dispute these traditional appearances that have smeared the image of the innocent ones. The police didn't just wake up one morning and decided to work with that appearance profile. We see them everyday on the front page. We do not need to narrow it to the hardest criminals alone cause those ones need camouflaging to survive. Moreover, many girls that don't dress in the way you term shabbily also sleep around as well. However, that these criminals dress or look that way doesn't mean that anyone they dresses or looks that way is a criminal. Likewise, that a harlot dresses shabbily doesn't mean that anyone that dresses 'shabbily' is a harlot. 'Shabilly' dressed women may attract men's attention but it does not mean that is always the purpose of the dressing. Men that drive good cars also get a lot of attraction from ladies but it would be illogical to say men buy good cars for the sole purpose of attracting ladies. Notice I put the word 'shabbily' in quotes cause another thing worth noting is that what one calls 'shabbily' is heavily influenced by ones background and therefore very subjective. Do we also say that boys that go on dreads without caring about what the elders will say are the ones that do anything without caring about what people would say? So maybe the police are right for profiling them? And since when did a girl living her life without caring what others say mean she's promiscuous? What makes you think that sex would be that thing she'd do without caring what others say? Can't she also decide to keep her virginity without caring how her friends mock her since the "I don't care" attitude is the profile you've given such girls? One moment we advice people to live thier lives without paying attention to what people say, the next moment, we are criticizing them for doing just that; at the end, we are the people saying. The fact that you think profiling is OK when it has to do with women but not with men is heavily biased. And the way you disassociate your gender from the menace makes it hard for one to discuss the overall impact of profiling in the society. |
Mariangeles:That I don't believe it doesn't mean it's not true. I think the picture first surfaced 10 years ago and since then, I've read about two or three versions of what happened. Some said it as another man's wife while others said they were a couple. Our bloggers are playing a fast one on us these days so forgive me for not knowing what to believe about the picture anymore. Like I said, even if they were a couple, having sex in public is still a crime. |
Seems like pet farming. I love that. The satisfaction and sense of fulfillment that comes with eating something from one's pet farm is indescribable! ![]() |
I don't believe the story cause I've seen that pic with different stories before. But then I'm surprised people don't know that it's illegal to have sex in public. |
BafanaBafana:While it's truly a possibility, that's not always the case, sir. Contrary to what an average man thinks, women don't generally live their lives to impress men. Fashion is a very personal thing. Just like a guy who has tattoos, dreads, ear piercings, etc., people generally dress in a way that makes them feel good about themselves. Men like to woo and attract girls but it would illogical to say we buy expensive shoes solely for that purpose. Dressing (appearance generally) boosts one's personal confidence. While there are many things that could boost one's confidence, most of them are not easily within our control but dressing is. And that is why both men and women would dress whichever way makes them feel confident even when it appears unacceptable to others. A girl who dresses shabbily is still likely to dress that way even after marriage or in all female gatherings cause that's her sense of fashion and possibly source of confidence. |
themaestro08:Ok |
Gerrard59:The sexism onhere is really worrisome. It is. People who you'd presume to be intelligent suddenly go illogical just to key into the trend of toxic masculinity. |
mansakhalifa:Well, it's not clean but in my opinion, filthy is an overreach. Filthy means disgustingly dirty. That's not exactly how I'd describe an artificial pond with with fountains. Even with the algae, the girls' white shirts can testify the water is not filthy. It's in a hotel and no hotel management would leave a filthy water that would irritate guests. But I guess you have your point all the same. |
Wow! Sad. |
hisgrace090:How so? |
Hhmm.... Do you boys ever get tired? Girls used to discuss men back then but it seems the reverse is the case now. You guys gather everyday here to profile Nigerian girls but would cry a river when foreigners profile Nigerians as criminals. |
