Swipa:I'm not very active on this section but judging from the few threads I've seen onhere, I actually believe it's the other way round. The way Nairaland boys abuse and attack the opposite gender is worrisome. |
Do what your religion asks of you and let others do theirs. Celebration is celebration. The bible does not have to specifically tell when and what to celebrate. If some people have picked a day to celebrate the coming of Jesus Christ, leave that to them. It doesn't have to be the exact day of his birth. |
Sailorsoldier1:Oh... OK. I know the song. I didn't know the name of the artist and also had not seen her picture before. Thanks! |
SmartPolician:Please, don't insult people you don't know online. That is the unruly part actually, not knowing how to submit your opinion without going all dirty. I never said what the guys did was right. I also didn't say the arrest was out of hate. I only said the celebration on the part of Ugandan musicians was a bit unhealthy. And I also asserted the organizers should have the bulk of the blame cause they knew the situation of things in the country more than the foreigners. You can either agree with my assertion or disagree with counter arguments. But going all low to call names and insult someone you don't know cause his opinion doesn't tally with yours is way too gutter. That's a stinking attitude. For all it's worth, I've never lived in Nigeria asides a few visits but yeah, I'm Nigerian and I'm glad not everyone over there is like you. Take care. |
WowSweetGuy:Oh... she's the Tems lady? Cute |
Ugandans like Nigerian musicians but Ugandan musicians don't really like Nigerian musicians that much. I wouldn't want call it hatred cause anyone would want to gain market advantage regardless of the line of business. But the way their celebrities were celebrating this in the video I saw was almost unhealthy. I learned that stemmed from the fact that they were not invited to perform in the show and were not even allowed to do any live performances this period because of the lockdown. And that makes me wonder why the organizers would then invite an uniformed foreigner to perform knowing the implications. The whole thing is just somehow. Please, who's the lady in that picture? She's really pretty. |
So many ideas I read online. I do hope they are reflecting on the people's standard of living. |
Lol... the Ugandan police has got themselves free publicity. |
Who is Bebe Cool again? |
Lucas4903:What's your point exactly? Because Canada is diverse, every organization must have an African? Do you know the staff size of the guy's organization? The guy specifically said he lives in the most diverse city (he wasn't even emphasizing on the entire country), do you know if his office is in the same city? Do you even know the guy at all? If you had doubts, why not ask for clarifications instead of just coming online to call someone a lier based on assumptions just because you believe you have a fair knowledge of Canada? I have lived in Canada virtually all my life and yes, there are MANY organizations both in Quebec where I live and in many other provinces that do not have people from certain continents. It doesn't make Canada any less diverse. |
Chevrolet076:I'm not arguing your points, neither am I invalidating your opinion or disproving your facts. I only pointed out your choice of words and how it can be misinterpreted. I repeat, saying Nigeria will undo him (or to quote, "make him wise up') is being so certain of his future and I'm saying no one has that certainty simply cause many others have succeeded in that same path. The word "will" is used to say what you think will certainly happen and that makes it look more like a curse. I believe I was clear from the onset. |
Kudos to those that caught them. It's been long since I saw this kind of bullet. |
AlhajiNatty:Going by OP's grammar, I think the pupils would be the unfortunate ones in that case. *Kidding o* |
Mokason288:I want to sincerely apologize for not listening to you. OP, you caught your girlfriend cheating and then you don't even know what happened to you, you quickly pulled off your clothes and attempted to join in the romp? And then she said you wanted to rape her and threatened to report you to the police? Why do I have this feeling that you truly wanted to assault or actually assaulted the girl cause she cheated on you, and you're just here test-running the lies you intend to sell to the police when they eventually grab you? If that's the case, you might as well tell the police you weren't even in town that day. That's probably a more believable story than the crap up there. No offense intended. |
Chevrolet076:Your academic achievements were never in question, sir. I never slightly suggested you didn't go to school and I sincerely don't know where you got that impression from. Most importantly, this is not about you but about your post I quoted. You said that Nigeria will make him wise up and I'm saying we should reconsider our choice of words so they don't come off as curses. It's good to have other plans but saying Nigeria will do this or that to him cause of his decisions does seem more like a threat than an advice. The key word there is "will" which denotes certainty. I clearly see the source of opinion but what works for A might not work for B. Like I said, some people still made it in Nigeria with thier education regardless of their GPA. So while it's good to advise him, we can't say for certain what his fate would be. |
OGWILLS123:Lol... dude, you know about wizkid cause he's popular. There are many others who use their degrees/academic competencies to make wealth. What works for Mr. A might not work Mr. B. To each, his own. So free the guy to follow his dream path. |
Chevrolet076:Nigeria will not undo him, please. Let's differentiate between advice and curse. The situation of things there could be bad but a lot of people have still made using their degrees and whatever they learned in school |
That bike be using and dumping them... |
So the cat has nine lives and no legs? |
gypsey:I totally agree with you. |
If he flouted the law, let him be penalised, no sentiments. But then again, I wish Nigerian celebs would be more careful with some of these police authorities that would gladly use them to gain the spotlight. |
Nice but there are other similarly transparent animals out there. |
Nightstalker:Lol... stop embarrassing yourself. |
OP, you said why we should never kill the animal. Are we supposed to eat it alive too?? ![]() |
yanabasee:You're contradicting yourself. You said she's probably not straight (which means you're not certain) and then went ahead to say she must have been initiating the girls (expressing certainty). Let's learn to express our guesses as guesses and our facts as facts. It would make more sense if you replaced "must" with "might" in the second part of the sentence. |
apatheticme:Lmao... isn't that the same as dead bones, dear? OK... Thanks. My pastor will explain to me where he got his own bible today. |
Now I see why these news channels stay away from most developing countries. They don't trust the judiciary system of such countries to effectively handle any legal matter that might arise in the course of doing their work. In Dubai Media City, CNN has a tower; the same in Frankfurt, Paris, London, etc. But not even one in the whole of Africa. They depend on a few employed locals to do their stuff there. While this could be limiting on terms of coverage, it's obviously also a measure against being embarrassed by a judiciary system that has got no reputation to protect. With this response, they've tied the hands of this panel. Let's see what happens next. May the best intention win. |
