Debbyblah:I totally agree with this. However, the formulaic expression makes it look as if women are some bad stuff that exist to cause problems for young males (like drugs or something) or some trophy to be had after working hard. While in reality, the boys are actually distracted by their own lust. The girls are young humans like them with their own aspirations and also have the tendency of being distracted themselves. So instead of "don't be distracted by women...when it's time yhull have them all", I usually give a more general advice, "don't get misled by lust". OP, in addition to what this guy said, it's also time for you to start treating people with due respect even when they aren't necessarily superior in any way. The respect you give to people reflects back on you. Most importantly, address people on the basis of thier contents and not thier tribe, race, gender, nationality, age, sexuality or social class. Finally, know that being kind is far more important than being woke. Good luck! |
austinkenneth:Thanks for this insight. However, I think you've just watered down her complaints and placed yours as "a better complaint". Bro, there is no such as "a better complaint" cause you don't get to tell people what they should complain about; you aren't in their shoe. You used the vague expressions "main table" and "not main table" to downplay the whole thing but if you throw more light, you'd realize it's not really far from what she said. The only difference is that she gave the details of what makes the umunna table the "main table" while you didn't. And like they say, the devil is in those details. In other words, what you referred to as the main-table/not-main-table concept was exactly what she elaborated about and that's her complaint. She said the fact that the men's table was were all visitors go to on arrival and drop their items which technically then belong to the men (a concept you conveniently summarized as "main table" ) is problematic. As for the sitting issue, you're probably right she missed the sitting arrangement but it wouldn't be fair to just conclude based of our general understanding of the Igbo culture. I don't know the culture like you cause I've not really lived in Nigeria but I go home often enough and I've been to two burial ceremonies before, and the sitting arrangements were not exactly the same. At the first one, I saw the widow's section, the men's section and the section for the daughters. Each of these sections had tables in front of it. The dead man's brothers and his sons sat at their own table while other males sat behind. The widow sat at her own table surrounded by co-wives. One would think the man's daughters would also sit at their own table but instead, the eldest daughters in the extended family took that position. At the second ceremony, each of the daughters came with her own husband and they got a section each. I don't know what the arrangement was at her father's burial ceremony but it would be unfair to just waive her complaints aside on the grounds of what we believe ab ideal sitting arrangement to be. She's not exactly stupid so if she asked why there wasn't any seat for them, it's probably cause she didn't see that arrangement and the response she got goes to show your assumption might be miles away from reality. Otherwise, the man would have just pointed her to the location where she was supposed to sit. My summary is, except we were there, we're in no position to counter her narration of her own personal experience. Happy new year! |
Do well to share a link pointing to what Bill Gates said. |
Sad. People die everyday. Millions are being vaccinated and if a couple of them die, it would be rather hasty to conclude it was the vaccine. |
BUSHHUNTER:I've lived both countries and I can say without mincing words that Canadians are more friendly than Americans. Friendliness doesn't mean they are social (no, they aren't) but they would go out of thier way to make a stranger feel comfortable. I'm surprised you even made this comparison. Quebec (my province) speaks French but it's only one out of the many provinces in Canada so using that to conclude there's a linguistic barrier in Canada is a deliberate attempt to undermine the country. I would actually like to know the strict laws you talk about. Mississauga is expensive but so are many American states. Canada needs population and it's only logical to seek educated people (actually, it's skilled people). Every country needs skilled immigrants and they have policies that ensure they get them. Australia and New Zealand are practicing the same skill based immigration system. Trump planned to introduce it in his second term. I'm not here to sell Canada, it's not my duty. But deliberately undermining the country just to make a point doesn't make you any different from those over hyping it. In comparison to the US, I'd say I prefer the Canadian immigration/citizenship system, the health care system, the diversity (Toronto is the world's most diverse city) and the inclusiveness. I prefer America's liveliness, the huge market and endless space for semi skilled workers, the weather and the entertainment industry (Canadian lifestyle is generally laid-back). But most importantly, the comparison wasn't even necessary. The OP only shared what she loves about Canada. She never said it was better than the US. |

Tadeknkeepcalm:Lmao... when I read such arguments, I usually stare at them in disbelief, and then sigh and move on. |
Tadeknkeepcalm:Don't bring sexism into everything. He is a man, it's not shocking that the girls would be his problem. Or where you expected the boys to write him a love letter? .... is what I'd have said to you if you were a redpiller. Yes, one has to be careful with kids. |
Megatrix:Talking about what the news media portrayed is a slap on our collective intelligence. We both listened to the tape ourselves, and we have brains. So CNN's opinion shouldn't have a bearing here. When you say "help him find votes", you must realise that is literally asking for the existing results to be tossed aside either for a recount (assuming he is an honest man) or an outright rigging (assuming he is not). I wouldn't want to assume the worst, so let's say he was just asking for a recount. Now, for a result that has been announced in favour of one party to be nullified and votes recounted, there must be a good evidence from the requesting party supporting the need for that and the party has to make this demand by challenging the result in a law court. It therefore baffles me how you don't see anything wrong with the president calling his party member in private to make such a demand. He knows the man he called can't just wake up and say the results aren't valid anymore, that's why he was suggesting different things he could say. In fact, he literally asked him to just say he miscalculated. Ok, let's assume the so-called rumours weren't just suggestions, the president was asking for Biden's "winnership" to be nullified on the grounds of some rumours he heard? Who does that? Let's not even talk about the subtle threats. This is wrong, brother Megatrix. Let's not allow sentiments block our reasoning. |
Truvel:Cause they attack small snakes. |
It's funny how they just start eating not minding the fact that the prey hasn't given up yet. |
Osezua:I don't get; this isn't any different from what the news channel shared. I don't have any problem with him mentioning the number of votes he needs to win, he might have said that just to tell his fellow Republican that a little hardwork is all they need to make it. But when the whole conversation is considered, it would seem like the president is desperately looking for anything to use as an excuse to nullify or alter the results. CNN is not really the subject here. As a news channel, they have their opinion but everyone has access to the recording, and since we are not zombies, why don't we just forget CNN and have our own opinions about the conversation? The president literally offered the man things to say in order to nullify or alter the results (that he recalculated, that ballots were shredded, that machines were moved, that the inner parts of the machines were moved, etc.) and when the guy wouldn't bulge, he subtly threatened him with the upcoming election. It's even a good thing that the guy stood his ground. If he had given any weak response to those questions, Trump would have been the first to publicize the chat with the claim that the election wasn't well monitored. He just didn't seem like someone that had facts or even cared for any at this point. He kept saying "that's what I heard", "that's what the rumours say", etc., and yet he wanted the man to make such a bold move based on rumours? C'mon, bro! |
osundo3:No, bro. I think the issue here is the tape we all listened to. If you make this about CNN, then you'd clearly be the one leaving the issue here to attack the news channel. You've listened to the chat yourself, why not leave CNN and make of it whatever your instincts tell you? CNN has their opinion, they may not like trump so forget them. What's your own opinion after listening to the chat? I think attacking CNN at this point would seem like a deliberate attempt to shy away from the issue at hand. Unless you're saying the chat was fabricated or edited to include what the president didn't say. Then that would be a different discussion. |
I guess it will be for a selected few. Anything short of that will be catastrophic. Really, whether it'll be possible or not is not really my concern but the implications of such an alteration. It's like just changing a gear in a complex gear system and expecting everything to be fine. Will birth rate be reduced? Will people be stopped from getting married and making children? Otherwise, how do we deal with the overpopulation that will be caused by the birth rate/death rate imbalance? How do we get the extra resources that will be needed to take care of everyone in a society where no one is making space? |
emorse:That's under the assumption that the father always knows all what it takes to thrive in the present world. |
Impressive really. However rapping along with the original artist is one thing, coming up with yours is another. This is because speaking fast is only 50% of the task. Coming up with the lyrics that will maintain the rhyme and still remain meaningful is another height. Nevertheless, I acknowledge and appreciate your skills, OP. You can make up for any shortcomings by working with people whose skill sets complement yours. Best of luck! |
Ola, you tried. If you keep practicing, you'd perfect your skills. But did SARS beat this your DonJazzy? |
Congratulations, ma. Happy for you. |
Ryan03:I didn't see this coming. You've got no idea how you've just made my day! Thank you and happy new year! |
Perhaps, it's as a result of all you've been reading here on NL. |
The title says they were caught kissing (what says "kissing together" lmao). And the video says it's just a compilation of the vids showing how the artists spent their last hours of 2020. But what's even more 'amazing' is how the OP and his goons are boldly defending the trash. Lol. I wonder how people don't see peddling lies as detrimental to the society they live in. These are the same people blaming thier politicians for the state of the country. |
Congrats, OP! |
Galatians:So because malaria is more serious, they shouldn't bother providing the vaccine? This is a virus, most viruses are not curable. Vaccination serves to prevent them and they are so many other vaccines out for different viruses, corona is neither new nor special. You can decide not to take the vaccine but let those that want it go ahead! Happy new year. |
dustydee:Logical. But it's sad Nigerians only say this when they feel oppressed. Otherwise, why wouldn't the same courtesy be extended to the gay people in the country? |
Moblux:Yes, and your intelligent exclamation after reading what happened was "fear women". Excellent. Enjoy your day. |
Moblux:Bro, you have nothing to say. You didn't read the news and all you could say was "fear woman". That's sexism, however unintentional it might be. No offense. |
DrayZee:Well, judging from NL, most Nigerian youths are obsessed with se.x. I mean, everyone has se.x everywhere. But constantly making it a subject and motivating factor is another level. You can hardly read any thread here without NL boys splashing dirty words everywhere (pus.sy, fvck, breas.t, pekus, bola, etc.). |
