Mr Obaseki, if you are so sure that your hands are clean and you have done well as governor, then you have nothing to fear. Otherwise, be ready to pack your things and go. This would have been the case in an ideal situation but clean hands don't count in Nigeria. |

I wonder what the use of gaydar is in Africa. Here, it could help a gay guy know whether to approach someone or not but in Africa, the risk is too much. Please, y'all should be careful. I've read enough terrible stories online to know how dangerous it is to be queer in Africa.

If fornication has been criminalised, it is a crime. We can argue that it shouldn't be but then, provided the law is against it, it remains a crime. I do not support this act (cause laws should be free of religion) but my question to you is, would you say the same thing if it were gay people being harrassed in Nigeria? |

When gay people are humiliated and subjected to all sorts of terrible things in Nigeria due to your sadistic and archaic laws, you all support it. You forget that they are consenting adults who have the right to use theirs bodies anyway they want. But here you are calling out another country for humiliating heterosexual fornicators just because you all are in fornicators yourselves! You're all suddenly human right activists!

MrLankeeee: That’s not true ooo
The Centurian’s Servant In Matthew 8:5-13 and Luke 7:1-10 the Bible gives the account of a Centurian who came to Jesus because his servant was near the point of death. Jesus began to come to the house, but the Centurian met him outside the house. He humbly told Jesus that he was not worthy to have Jesus come in to his home. But, he also understood the authority of Jesus, and that if he just spoke the word, the servant would be healed. Jesus, who pointed out the great faith of this man, said the word to bring healing to the servant.
The Capernaum Official’s Son In John 4:46-54, an official came to see Jesus, because his son was sick to the point of death. He asked Jesus to come before his son died. But, instead of coming with the man to heal the son (as Jesus often did with similar requests), Jesus simply told the man to “Go” and that his son would live. The man returned home and found his son was indeed healed at that time. In this story, the man is almost scolded by Jesus for his faith that needed a sign. This man did not have great faith, but he had just enough faith to come to Jesus.
Stop disgracing the CHRISTAIN Faith. Just see the way you just embarrassed yourself, brother. Now, go back and read my post again. This time, slowly. Maybe you'll see where I wrote "... or those whose cases were specifically made known to him via loved ones". Then come back and tell me how that differs from the events you cited. |

miketayo: So the cases at the isolation centers isn't known to all of us? I don't get... you think Jesus didn't know they were sick people out there? He could have just blinked and they'd all get healed all the world. But he didn't do that because the receiver is meant to faithfully participate in the healing process directly or indirectly. Apparently, it's a principle in Christianity. I'm not a defender of any religion. I'm just putting things into perspectives. I assumed you're Christian. Otherwise, this discussion wouldn't even make sense. |

flyingpig: Do healing and prayer require a medium? Are you a Christian? If so, you'd know the importance of the person being healed to participate directly or indirectly in the healing process. Jesus only healed those brought in contact with him or those whose cases were made known to him via their loved ones. If you aren't a Christian, then your question makes more sense cause it's a Christian thing. |

PoliticallyInco: It is the same question we ask LGBT that is considered to be judgmental. You are free to love what you choose and heaven knows I couldn't care less. But please don't also tell us what to like as straight men.
We are naturally attracted to it. Just as you are naturally attracted to a man. I would spit and puke if I saw a fellow man naked. You on the other hand might get turned on. As a matter of fact, If he tried to touch me I would murder him. Yes, take a knife and stab him. But I don't care what they do with themselves as gay men. Just don't bring it to me. So for us who are straight, It is built in our psyche. It simply registers in our brain that she is a fertile woman capable of nurturing our offspring. Immediately our sexual/reproductive system responds. That is how straight men are wired.
However this isn't a general rule. I have met perky boobed ladies that were great, Sexy and I'll have kids with them anyday. Now this is where reasoning (which only humans are the only species capable of doing it well) takes over instinct. Instinct says big boobs, flaring hips, tiny waistline, healthy thighs, straight legs, cute face, nice personality all equal "Get her pregnant". But I overule the equation and say no, I prefer to substitute perky boobs for big ones if I find a girl with the other attributes. It will still equal "get her pregnant".
Don't question our straightness. I have chosen not to question your being gay either. This escalated so fast. Why would I (the minority) question your sexuality or tell you whom to love? My post only served to highlight the natural disposition of a gay person who - regardless of the circumstances - would never be sexually attracted to the opposite sex. If anything, it was educative to those who don't understand the working principles of human sexuality and it doesn't not undermine, criticize or, any way, look down on straight people. Please, don't equate that with y'all straight people's hatred for gay guys which is very much evident in your post. Enjoy your day. |

Openbusiness3: Educate yourself! Even free liberal societies like America have laws against indecent exposure. So why won't Nigeria have it? We have, but it is the enforcement that has been lacking of recent due to lack of political will by the Executhieves in power, who have chained the police hands behind their back.
The Provisions Of Section 1 And 26 Of The Violence Against Person (Prohibition) Act 2015
(Section 1 and 26 VAPP Act)
Offence of indecent exposure
(1) A person who intentionally exposes his or her genital organs, or a substantial part thereof, with the intention of causing distress to the other party or that another person seeing it may be tempted or induced to commit an offence under this Act, commits an offence termed “indecent exposure”.
(2) A person who intentionally exposes his or her genital organs or a substantial part thereof, and induce another to either massage, or touch with the intention of deriving sexual pleasure from such acts, commits an offence under this section.
(3) A person who commits an offence under this section is liable to upon conviction to a term of imprisonment of not less than 1 year or to a five not exceeding N500,000 or both. If after reading what you typed above and you agree with the person I quoted that that lady should be arrested, then you know absolutely nothing about the specificity of the Law. I know VAPP Act 2015 and that is what I thought the guy was going to bring up. And this clearly does not apply here: 1) VAPP is only applicable in the FCT and not nation-wide. This incidence above took place in Lagos. 2) Note that indecent exposure and indecent dressing are not the same thing. Indecent exposure is a legal term with each country having their specific implementations (see below). In Nigeria, VAPP Act, 2015 specifically mentioned exposure of genita.lia or a substantial part of it as indecent exposure. This means that regardless of how indecently you are dressed, you have not violated the law provided you are not exposing your Instruments or a substantial part of it. Breast (both genders') is not considered Instruments. 3) If there was a law against indecent dressing, the Nigerian police would not hesitate to add it to their means of extorting money from individuals just like they have used other laws. Did they need anyone to enforce traffic laws before using it as a money making algorithm? They can't because no one really violates the law against indecent exposure. Do you know how many boys wearing briefs and playing football in the street such law would have made offenders if it wasn't specific? Do you how useless the law would have been if it was left open ended? What most countries have is law against indecent act and, in some cases, exposure of the genitals. What you call indecent dressing in Africa would mostly likely be a summer dressing here so any such law against indecent dressing would be very ridiculous. You might as well throw everyone in jail. In the US, the specicifities of the law against indecent exposure vary from state to state. The variation is mostly in terms of the intent of the offender and the location of the offence. What most states have in common is the basic criminalization of nudity (which still has exceptions) and nobody goes around nude. Here in Canada, the law is against indecent act is which is mostly defined as the exposure of genitals for sexual purposes to someone under the age of 16. As a matter of fact, it is not illegal for a woman to go around topless here (obviously indecent). That clearly goes to show the extent to which the law is specific and indecent dressing does not necessarily mean indecent exposure. In some parts of Australia, even complete nudity is legal while some parts criminalise the exposure of person (again, "person" is defined here as "genitals" ). Indecent dressing is bad on moral grounds. Any household or even institutions like schools and churches can make thier rules against it but we, like many other countries (excluding Islamic countries and regions), don't have provisions against it. And this is understandable cause of the subjective nature of the subject. For civility, I chose to ignore the suggestive statement you began your post with. |
