Biodun1929:Glad there are people like you amidst the millions of homophobes in Africa. I get exhausted trying to educate people. Most times, I just give up. Then I read stories about the horrible things gay people go through in Africa, and I pick up again. The only source of encouragement is supporting comments from none homophobic straight guys, there are the light at the end of the tunnel. Thanks. |
NO Next!!! |
Kfed4ril:I don't know. That's why I said "they said". |
prophetfire:Apparently, he's controversial. |
The End. |
Okoroawusa:You'd rather concentrate on Philip and his controversies and totally ignore the message. He might be a fraud but I think the point I was trying to make is very clear. Those who liked the comment got the message. Nobody is being particular about the authenticity of Phillip, it could have been Chike Obi or any other male Nigerian. Point is, while we always call out girls to do better, let's remember to call boys too. You can replace the Philip with any name that appeals to you but let's not move too far away from the message. Thanks for your input. |
SmartyPants:I don't pay attention to conspiracies. Thanks for your input though. |
Davash222:Yeah, cause you believe your genital should influence your logic. Enjoy! |
Davash222:@bolded: una, our. Are you a hermaphrodite? I'm a guy. And yes, girls should "keep their legs one place" and guys should "keeps their 3rd legs one place". There's more to human relationships than se.x. Too much of everything, they say, is bad. |
Davash222:And who do they go to flirt with? Aliens? No matter how much you call out girls or insult them, you can't clean up the society if you keep shielding the male counterparts because it takes two to tango. |
Y'all have made a mess of blogging. |
XXXXTENTACION:True. I wish our boys would emulate the likes of Philip Emeagwali too and stop running around Nairaland looking for girl related threads. Nice one. **Edited** They say Philip is a fraud so you can replace the name with that of any other prominent male Nigerian that appeals to you but let's not miss the message: chastise the male child as much as you do the girl child if you really want to see any positive change. |
Mosetgg:Are you a serial disvirginer ? |
Bajunga:You can start by paying as much attention you pay to the girl child to the boy child. While you teach the girl child the dangers of early, random and unprotected se.x, use the same energy to teach the boy child. Don't let him off the hook cause "boys will always be boys". No. Create a Nairaland thread too ask for opinions on how to 'protect' him. Hold him responsible for his actions. When he misbehaves, criticize him and say "don't you know you're decent boy? Do you want to bring shame to our family?". Teach both genders self respect and respect for the opposite gender. If we all start doing these, our girls will be better off. |
Why does every thread have to lead to Nairaland boys calling out "ladies of nowadays"? Are ya'll any better? |
Chidonc:Lol... So why do men get super excited when the ladies say yes? I think the excitement stems from the fact that they're both ready. Most times, what happens is that when one party is ready, the other isn't. This doesn't undermine thier love cause it takes more than love to get married. |
Your wife is unable to conceive? OP, you don't deserve that precious woman. Even when it's clear the issue is from you, you're still like this. Only heaven knows what would have been her fate if it was her fault. **Update** The title has been edited. Kudos to OP. I wish him the best. |
hashtagged:Teleportation and he's still in Naija? Maybe it's the power to warm food without a microwave. That's something. |
Smile4mee01: ![]() Ok, talking about the pics, I don't agree with the poster. You don't take a lady unawares and expect her to say yes just to save your as.s. I mean, she could say yes if she's sure and ready but if she isn't, it would be in her best interest to say no right there and then so she won't be labelled "engaged" when she isn't. If you can't deal with public rejection, why do public proposal? You don't just propose when you're ready and willing. It takes two to tango. She has to be ready too and that's why you should first discuss it with her if you're not sure. You can go public afterwards. #MyOpinion |
Lol... aren't you arguing with yourself here? Nobody ever said it is a prerequisite. How many people even do it? |
Does the governor have to put up with these traditional things? Imagine I become the governor tomorrow and they give me staff to give a traditional leader and shout "blood of jesus!!! ![]() |
maximusprime2000:Welcome to Africa |
fairfora:The robots were donated to them by the UN. Just wondering why Nigeria didn't get any. |
Kpokakpoka:100%%%% |
wirinet:Which is terrible, really. |
Eastside22:This kind of statement makes it difficult for men (especially the insecure ones) to discuss the salient social issue of homophobia. You don't have to be gay to know that homophobia is not any different from racism. |
MasterShifu010:Sexuality is a spectrum. Like skin colour, it's not always black or white. People don't don't choose their sexuality. Let's stop the discrimination. |
cricifixo:Thank your for your input. My response is a bit lengthy, please bear with me ![]() See, walking like a girl is not being gay. That's stereotyping gone wrong. Yes, we have so many gay guys who are effeminate but we also have just as many gay guys who are very very masculine; more macho than you can ever imagine. You were able to change the way you walk, you didn't change your sexuality. Sexuality is something much deeper than the way we walk. In fact, it's even deeper than se.x. Sexuality is about emotional attachment. Loving the same gender the way straight people love the opposite gender. You don't have to have se.x to know you're gay. Fact is, some people are gay whether they are having sex or not. We have friends who are gay, brothers, sisters, cousins, colleagues, etc. They are all around us. We love them. We admire their accomplishments. And then one day, something happens and we discover they are gay, and they suddenly become very bad people that deserve 14 years in jail. Does that even make sense? We don't want our tribes or skin colours to define us but we're willing to define people by thier sexuality just because they are the minority and can't speak up for themselves. In some parts of the world, electro-shock was adopted as a way of changing someone's sexuality. In South Africa, there was something called corrective ra. pe where men gather to continuously ra.pe a lady hoping she'd turn straight. In Leviticus (according to the then Laws of the land) and in Islam (tbf), they just kill them off. Now if sexuality is something that could be switched the way ya'll think, do you think these hideous routes would be taken? Suicidal ideation is prevalent in the LGBTQ+ community today, you think that would be the case if sexuality was a mere choice? The most shocking thing is that it is criminalised in Nigeria. Even if homosexuality is morally wrong or sinful as they say, since when did the Law start fighting sins? Have fornicators and adulterers (who even breached their marriage contracts) been arrested? No. You know why? Because straight people are the majority. As far as Africa is concerned, the minority has no voice. But what's even more painful is that the younger generation sees nothing wrong with this discrimination. Some people killed twins in the past cause they were unusual. Some people in East Africa still kill Albinos. Some people kill hunchbacks. Some people the Western world still kill blacks Some people in Africa are persecuting gay people. All the above mentioned forms of discrimination are born out of man's inability to accommodate and co-exist with others who are not like him. We call people tribalists, racists, bigots, etc. but it's only because we don't just happen to be agree with them at that point or because we are on the receiving side of the hatred. The moment it doesn't concern us or we have a common target of hatred, we suddenly stop seeing it as discrimination. Truth is, homophobia is as bad as racism, tribalism etc. But only the objective, sincere and philosophical minds would accept this truth. #LiveAndLetLive #SayNoToHomophobia #SayNoToDescrimination |

FeliciaOja:First, calling for blind people on NL to answer your question comes off as a dark humour cause we all know most blind people in Nigeria do not have the advanced technology needed to access the internet and the majority of NL users are in Nigeria. Second, the answer to this question should be very obvious and that alone casts a shadow of doubt on the motif. We all know how people get turned on (sight, voice, smell and touch) and losing any of these senses simply implies relying on the rest. People even have phone intimacy and get turned on without seeing the person on the other end. So how is it rocket science how blind people get turned on? You that can see, doesn't touching also turn you on? So if you lose your sight, will it be so hard telling what you would rely on? I'm sorry but this thread is either insensitive or daft, nothing else. |
From your explanation, the fire barley caused any damage so how's that gutting? If fire guts a building, it means the fire really destroyed the interior of that building. It's like a butcher removing the guts (the intestine and other internal organs) of an animal before cooking it. |
