Johnny4President:Well, to be fair, they are probably incapacitated (you can't stop the new accounts from popping up) or they just don't see any harm these guys can possibly cause. Besides, it can be argued that everyone has the right to create any thread provided no rule is violated. Nevertheless, it's really eerie. |
Johnny4President:Actually, such threads don't normally get my attention too. I just find the entire mode of operation strange. |
daddytime:Glad I'm not the only one noticing it. I've updated the post to show the news ones that came in tonight. Strange! |
Good evening guys (or good morning if you're in Nigeria). Sorry to bother you all. Regarding the thread's subject, it's something I've been pondering on for a while. Something I consider strange probably cause of limited knowledge and that's why I'm bringing it here so you guys can enlighten me. You might not have noticed but I beseech you to start observing from today if interested. New strange accounts are created everyday (actually every night) on Nairaland, each telling the same story. It's apparent that someone or a group of people is behind this but what I don't quite get is the end goal. It's an organized process as the writers share similar linguistic styles and modus operandi. They always write about how black people are dying of corona more in the US or how corona originated from an American laboratory or how Trump placed the travel ban too late or the moniker would claim to be a US resident who had the virus in December (long before it officially got into the US). As these accounts are created, the old ones continue posting the same story. They don't comment on other threads and they don't mind the fact that people hardly comment on their threads. These accounts are created around midnight or afterwards. I live in North America so that's my early evening and the time I normally come online and I usually scan through new topics after going through the front page. I noticed these repetitious threads long ago but I didn't take them seriously given that the pandemic was trending and bloggers were milking it dry. Then I noticed that most of them didn't have any external link and those that do weren't pointing to blogs but other news channels so they weren't the handiwork of some ambitious bloggers. That was when I decided to check out these guys and voila, most of the threads were created just the same day as the accounts! I was thrilled but decided to observe for a longer time before sharing and as unbelievable as it may seem, the same thing happened every night. As I am typing this, today's account has appeared and the story remains the same. Like I said, I've been noticing this for a while so the oldest of these accounts were created in June or thereabouts and if you check their profiles, you'd see they've been repeating the same thing ever since. The only logical explanation I could come up with was that there might be a well coordinated anti-Trump or anti-US or anti-democracy or anti-westernization campaign going on here (either the person or persons behind these threads are not in Nigeria or they, for reasons best known to them, only operate at night). But the question would be, why take the pain to bring such campaign to Nairaland? It doesn't just add up. At this point, I believe there's something I don't know that maybe those in Nigeria can explain. Has any of you been noticing this too? Does anyone know who they are and what the aim is? Playthepianos:So why didn't he chain satan nah?? ![]() NB: The correct word in this context is "a cherub". "Cherubim" is the plural form. |
Lol... Once the word 'lady' is mentioned, women bashers will gather like sharks drawn by blood. No wonder women are now staying away from Nairaland. |
Nairaland boys have made the platform unwelcoming and even depressing for ladies. |
The same reason they prefer 3every other foreign product. Nobody wants to be seen as a local champion. |
You forgot to add that bro should not sleep with a bro. Oh yes, you read that right! This is the 21st century! |
I appreciate the fact that people have different fetishes and being dominant is one of them. But please, always ensure it's consensual. |
Righteousness89:So she shouldn't appreciate the expertise of the technical team? Does the quest for heaven erode one's sense of appreciation and moral upbringing? |
Let's see if the hypocritical Nigerians will actually patronize this more than BBN. ![]() |
masterflowx:Everyone women you see is an olosho. Shows the kind of environment you grew up in. |
Sounds dirty. But many guys would easily get away with this type of statement without being bashed |
loopman:Whether Yaradua is dead or Jonathan is in Otuoke is not the issue with this statement. The question, since the governor is boasting about these and using them to exemplify what happens to those that fight him, does it mean that he's got a hand in Yaradua's death as well as Jonathan's loss? Cause that seems to be one logical conclusion based on his statement. Another would be that he was saying god puts off his enemies. |
Fear men! What is all this?! |
Just see how Nairaland boys are supporting all sorts of idiocies just because it's coming from a fellow man. We are quick to call ladies slay queens but encourage boys to be extremely dirty. It's your daughters that will bear it. OP, go ahead, if they really agree, I'd say all of you deserve one another. Just don't call it a relationship, it's business. |
How is this any different from the barber's in Abuja? |
Men will continue to misbehave until we use the same energy we employ against the so called slay queens against them. Just see how some people on the front page page are making a joke out of this. We rush to call women names for the slightest misbehavior and then look the other way when fellow men exhibit gutter characters. We think we're being all masculine but we're only making life difficult for our daughters and sisters. |
After some people will be talking as if the female gender has the monopoly of maltreating others. Fear men. |
Gender intimidation. If it was a lady that exhibited such, the entire feminine gender would have been getting it hot today on Nairaland. Fear men |
corneliuspamoff:Lol... calm down bro. No too vex, abeg. |
Lazycyndy:Thank you. |
ZINIBANKS:You don't need to insult her because she is not ready when the man is. Marriage is a two-people thing and both parties need to be ready to settle down. If their time frames don't tally, the guy could just move on. No need to whine about everything the female gender does. |
honeyB2018:Even on a tasteless comedy skit like this, you guys are still bashing women?! Nawa o. |
MajesticKris:We all have our priorities/preferences. We can't always have it all so we go for the one that matters more to us. She has made her choices, you make yours and stop thinking your preferences or opinions make you better than she is. Many celebrities today who started out very young didn't have much of a normal childhood but that's a sacrifice for what they have today. She'd rather be rich and save her family from poverty than enjoy all the youthful life you mentioned and remain poor. Besides, she's not a baby, she is above 20 and people marry at her age. |
BadBradley:I don't understand the question, I think there's a typo in it. But what I'm saying is, any country that topples it's own government becomes headless and invariably invites external forces to save the citizens from anarchy. In the western world, there are steps to impeach a leader. If the use of force is allowed, then we're heading back to the pre-civilization days when the physically strongest leads till a more powerful person emerges and overthrows him forcefully because there will never be a government without enemies and you can't call for the rule of law when you came into power forcefully yourself. In summary, coups are archaic and never really yields positive results other than setting a terrible precedence. Africa seriously needs to move beyond that. |
BadBradley:But when was the last time heard about coup in any of those big countries? You're addressed the way you are dressed. |
Bobbyfreshh:Toxic masculinity. Don't box him into a corner with your own insecurities. He is confident in his sexuality and he can I say "I love you" a million times to anyone and that wouldn't change his orientation. |
J111333:Oga, if you have a good looking partner who meets your needs in terms of compatibility, you're lucky man/woman. The person you mentioned is not everyone's spec and doesn't represent the peak of feminine beauty. To each, his own. |
If you think you'll become rich by cooking up stories about other people, you better think again. |
