zombieHUNTER:Evidence? I don't know how you guys do logic in Nigeria. Is the burden of proof on the accuser or the accused? You wake up one morning, accuse someone of something and expect the person to go and start looking for proof? Dude, Simi not in a position to proof anything to anyone. It's the person who laid claims that has something to prove. Simi is smart. She has refused to fall for the drama internet users are clamoring for. |

The law of demand and supply. |
theInterpreter:Well, natural language processing is an extremely difficult field of computing. It would be a white elephant dream to expect a perfect translation from any system for many reasons asides tonality. The basic idea is to get the message in a speech, and Google translate isn't doing bad in that regards. There are other better systems but only a few can boast of the language coverage Google has. The shortcomings of Google are mostly exposed with languages that aren't as researched/consciously structured as many European languages and this includes the Niger-Congo languages. |
Are you a lady, OP? Meanwhile, I'll watch the film this weekend, thanks to this pub. ![]() |
TMKsouth:I agree with you on this. |
JimmyDarmody:Mr. Leader. You heard about a divorce case, formed your own story from thin air and accused the woman with so much certainty. Excellent leadership skills at work. |
You see how no one mentioned the word "gay" in the SA thread? Now, take a look at the first comment here on NL. In Nigeria, everything is a threat to masculinity. |
JimmyDarmody:Yes, the facts you cook up in your head. |
Akwamkpuruamu:Nobody ever said she should support it. She's only asked to stay where it's not supported. You can't deny some people right in your country and run to another country where everyone has rights to live life. |
They said she's homophobic. Lol. Please, is she not homophobic? You think gay people should be killed or jailed and you're doing everything possible to migrate to a society where they're treated as the humans that they are. Please, let's move on to the next topic. |
chatinent:If the movie was so convincing it affected how you look at him, then he's a great actor. By the way, learn not to attach so much sentiment to things. Just saying. ![]() |
Ammishaddai:But she didn't do anything wrong. People move from one job to another and that's perfectly normal. I don't know why Nigerians make a big deal out of it. Or are you suggesting people shouldn't leave their places of work in search of greener pastures anymore? |
JimmyDarmody:You guys must always find creative ways to heap it on the woman. You guys keep pushing them until they reach the wall. |
@Stankovic22 You did the right thing. Your friend said the right words and his wife also said the right words. It's simple courtesy/modesty. You think the couple would have been happy if you had taken the front seat? They just said what they had to say in order not to come off as arrogant. In other words, they were being respectful and considerate. You don't have a car, someone in your shoes could easily interpret any slight misstep as "rubbing it on your face". The couple knows this and that's why they had to be cautious. Next time, stay in the front and vacate the position as soon as you get to where she is. This way, you wouldn't make the hubby look like a driver on your way to her location. That's a bit awkward, lol. I'm surprised you actually thought they really meant you were wrong. People like you quickly grab a spoon when asked to come and eat. ![]() |
How can a few different words make them different languages? These don't even qualify as different dialects. And why are those on the front page already calling out women? |
For the same reason the Nigerian football team is called the super eagles. That's the animal that embodies the personality they'd like to identify with. |
You started off defining an industrious woman as if you really care about achievements. Deep within, you're just out to capitalize on people's lust. That's why, despite the lady's heights, you still couldn't find a better way to describe her other than sexualizing her. You guys need to start seeing beyond sex. |

It's hard commenting when when the details are missing. But that review though... |
Modrov:Please, share with me pictures of the lady dressing 'inappropriately'. I'd like to see. I thought the first guy that commented was just hating her like most NL boys who don't understand that feminism doesn't imply doing without men. But your response suggests she actually dresses inappropriately. |
Looking at the front page, people still blaming the lady. Smh |
IbileIfe:It seems to be so. |
![]() I guess you got tired of typing. The truth is, Nairaland would crash if we should attempt to pen down the sad fate of an African woman. As a lady, you are naturally wrong. Your only aspiration in life is to be a good wife. By just having a pic online, you're a slay queen. Your dressing is policed, the way you dance, cook, walk, talk, laugh, etc., everything you do is under intense scrutiny. When a man is about to leave Nigeria, he's asked to learn a skill. When a lady is about to leave Nigeria, she's asked to learn how to respect the man abroad. A man sees a girls pic and says "I want to fvck this girl", he is called a guy man! You, a lady, see a guy's picture and say "he's cute". You're called "ashawo". The man has kids with four women, he's my guy. The baby mamas who have stuck to only him are the hoes. You refuse to sleep with him, then you're probably giving it to others. You give it to him, you're an ashawo. News of men committing crimes like fraud, rape, murder, cheating, etc. litter the front page everyday and we blame humanity. Then we read one about a lady and say "fear women!" We are upset when SAS men profile us just because of our hairstyle or dressing; not everyone on dreads is a yahoo boy! But we take one look at the lady and decide how many men she's slept with just by her dressing. The man is praised when he sleeps around. Then we gather to ask why girls of nowadays can't be virgins. The boy child is given the laissez-faire to pursue his dreams but the girl child must not have too much or she'll not get a man. Yet, it is the men who create threads morning, afternoon and night to call you out for things they themselves do on a daily. This is one of those threads where I don't respond to quotes. See this as a soliloquy and not a conversation. |
You guys and unverifiable stories... |
chatinent:She wasn't called that when her husband was alive? |
PointZerom:Lol... You say this as if it automatically proves everything you wrote. You just logged on to Nairaland, created a thread and started typing away, and you don't expect people to query the source of your information? No, these are allegations. You'll need to support your claims with verifiable references. |
She is beautiful and classy. |
omoharry:That's a noble cause. I wish you the success you desire! |
