Lol... in Nigeria, a man cheats, the woman is shamed. |
Crossroad1:Actually, you never do. It's always about women for you guys. You deem it necessary to open a thread and call out the entire gender cause a lady is scantily dressed but we read stories of Nigerian men scamming and raping innocent people every day and nobody creates a thread to call out men. Sexism is ugly. |
The price of everything is probably going up and the worth of Naira is spiraling down. School fees can hardly be isolated. |
Nice. But you can easily cook this yourself, OP. Besides, how is egg sandwich a Ghanaian food? |
Sad. Same story all the time yet Nairaland people are more interested in typing "fear women", "Nigerian girls are useless", etc. Maybe if we spend half of that energy in admonishing one another as well, we'll see the change we seek. But no, when a man is involved, we call out his ethnicity, religion, race, etc. anything but the gender. |
I don't advocate for such social media lifestyle too. But it's easy to see reasons why the voiceless would resort to that. Yes, the African society renders women voiceless. Women are expected to love and cook for their cheating husbands or they'd be labeled "Nigerian women" - an expression that has suddenly become bad no thanks to the men who somehow think women are the cause of Nigeria's problems. No one really takes the issue of man's infidelity seriously. Instead, the lady would be asked to lose weight or cook better or dress better to stop a cheating spouse or she'd be told to accept her man that way since he still comes back after flirting with the women outside. For women, it's like crying in the ocean where no one sees your tears or blinking in the dark where no one sees your eyes. It's emotionally draining and outrightly maddening. These women take to social media as thier last resort not because they'd get any tangible solution online, but voicing out gives them some kind of closure and lightens the burden. Everyone wants and needs to be heard. It's easy to ask "why take it social media since it's an internal problem" but no one really knows how long she's been dealing with the infidelity issue. Prior to now, we knew her as a loving wife who stood by her husband against all odds (the odds being his wayward lifestyle). If she's speaking out now, it's because she's can't take it anymore. Any Idibia could be on the offensive, I'm not out here to blindly defend her. But trying to shut women up as advocated by this post is not a solution. We should be honest with each other and recognize the fact that cheating is terrible regardless of the gender and a cheating spouse can make one do/say things they'd never imagined. |

Sure! If you could back it up with the knowledge of a well known enterprise resource planning system like Dynamics, SAP or even Salesforce (CRM), you'd be on your way to being one of the top earners out here. |
Neddstark:Apparently, you're out of logic. Bye. |
mrsteel:I'm not a lady. It's funny you think I must be a lady simply because I don't stand with the man. That sat says a lot. |
mrsteel:Dude, be honest, would you be okay with your wife passing the night at her ex lover's place? Let's stop running around and be honest with each other. You kept on mentioning kids as if that's the bone of contention. Kids or no kids, no human being on earth would be happy knowing that their partner is sleeping over at an ex lover's place. If you had any regards for you wife, you'd never do that. You can go and see your kids, take them out, etc. But passing the night with an ex lover is crossing the line. If you don't see reason with this, then there's no need continuing this conversation. |
Commentor:Stop avoiding the allegation. Having three kids is a not an excuse to sleep with ex lovers, dude. This is not just "another woman", this is his wife. Stop dishing out what you can't take as a spouse. |
Commentor:So it's all her fault for sticking around hoping for a change and the cheating man is blameless, right? If she had left at the first sight of trouble, the same men would have gathered here to call her a gold digger who couldn't stay with one man. Do you guys ever stop to apply logic when siding men in every case? Truly, sexism makes even the brightest of minds seem dumb. |
mrsteel: Tyriq:Did she say she has any issue with the kids? Did you even read what she typed? How does having kids before marriage qualify him to be sleeping over at his ex's place? A married man?! Can you take that from your spouse? Why do you guy reduce your standards when judging men? If it was the lady sleeping over at her ex lover's, would any of you be sounding like this? Now, it's a man and we're concentrating on the children as if him passing the night with an ex lover is not big deal. The woman took him despite all his shortcomings. She met him when he was poor. Dudes, if you guys can look beyond sexism, you'd agree that she deserves better than this public embarrassment she gets every now and then from a man she has given her all including her dignity. Let's call a spade a spade for once and stop treating men's infidelity with kid gloves. |
Magnoliaa:Lol... I was just passing by. |
DoggoneDogg:How does this qualify him to be sleeping around after the marriage? Where on earth is it cool to be sleeping with your exes after you're married? If it was the lady doing this, would be typing this? You know what, forget I quoted you. Your first line above already tells a tale about your background. |
newbornmacho:It's easy to see who has a problem here OK, bye. |
OP, what makes her a slay queen? |
newbornmacho:Sexism has never and will never help anyone. Focus on your life and make the best out of it. If you don't like women, leave them alone. That's not too hard. |
Lol... you'd have to control yourself first. |
Mraphel:You guys are really mean. The man sleeping around with his baby mamas like it's nobody's business despite having a wife who has been there for him from the onset does not have issues but the woman who is fed up has issues, right? Why don't we like telling ourselves the truth as men? What kind of society are we creating for our children with all this "whatever a man does is right" attitude? |
Congrats to your and your partner! I wonder the amount of abusive words we would have read here today if it was a lady that made this announcement. It's funny we say congrats to men who "decided" to become baby daddies and hurl insults at women who eventually become baby mamas. |
I kinda feel there's more to this story. Why does she feel so hurt by your refusal to attend her church? Why is she even inclined to make you come to her church? Does she intend to eventually convert you or what? I guess the grand question is, has she been to your church before? If that's the case, then I'd say she's not just upset because you refused to worship with her, she's upset cause you're not reciprocating her efforts to make things work. But if she hasn't been to your own church prior to now and occasionally worshipping with her is a deal-breaker for you, then please let her go. These are the reasons why we date, right? It's more like a compatibility trial, and we should know when to take the result of that trial and take a decision. The whole dating thing would be pointless if you ignore such results. People must not really fight or have infidelity issues before they call it a quit. Sometimes, we just realize our values don't match and that we're better off as friends. |
Mrkumareze:I learned people have the tendency of just voting for anyone they perceive as 'less privileged'. Is this true? Could that be why they'd rather get people of 'equal footing'? |
Nice... he was enjoying himself and it's cool. Everyone deserves this liberty; men and women alike. |
You were not prepared for the exam. The girl was just there to take the brunt of it. ![]() |
Awesome! Happy birthday to her! |
You can wear this if the organization is into creative arts/entertainment (especially startups). That would be considered a fashion statement: bold, unconventional and progressive. Don't tell me you want to put on shorts to a bank or other places of work where professionalism is considered a driving force. That would send a lot of messages, none of which would be good. Lol. |
Lol... Nigeria reminds me of Nollywood Epic movies. |
Hmm... I don't really know much about JAMB but I allowing schools to set thier own cut off marks means there wouldn't be empty spaces since schools will increase or reduce the cut off to reflect the number of students they intend to admit. This is sounds good, but I fear quantity might take the place of quality in these schools as many schools will rather reduce thier standards than have empty benches. The disparity in standards will also widen. Pardon my ignorance, I have very limited knowledge of how JAMB works. |
Terrible! Man's inhumanity to man. I'll never understand the logic behind "I'll kill you cause you're not like me". |
Nigerians criticize Bob more than they criticize the so called G boys. And I wonder who's really the bad guy. |
