Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has denied reports that they have concluded arrangement to meet with Republic of Ireland manager, Giovanni Trapattoni, Guus Hiddink as well as the other coaches in London Thursday next week. Chairman of the NFF technical committee, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi, said there was no iota of truth in the report just as he informed that all the candidates jostling for Shaibu Amodu’s job had been instructed to hit Abuja for interview. “We never agreed to hold interview with any of the shortlisted coaches in London, and we have no plans to do that. The interview will still hold in Abuja as scheduled on February 26 and all the coaches on our wish list have been notified about the arrangement. Invitation letters have already been dispatched to them,” Chief Ogunjobi explained to SoccerStar. He said the NFF would no more discuss the issue of foreign coach inside the pages of newspapers until the deal has been finally sealed. “The issue of foreign coach has generated so much heat in the press that even the employers of the coaches are not happy about it. We don’t want to jeopardise the coaches and NFF interest, so we have decided to hold every discussion in utmost secrecy until we conclude discussions with them. Everybody should exercise patience. When we are ready, we will announce the name of the new coach. Coaches are not employed in the pages of newspapers. Henceforth, we don’t want to talk about it any more,” the former 3SC and Julius Berger General Manager said in a tone of finality. http://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpages/features/sportsonthehour/2010/feb/12/sportsbreak-12-02-2010-001.htm |
Togo's football authorities have appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) over their ban from the next two Africa Cups of Nations. The ban was imposed after Togo pulled out of the recent tournament in Angola. Their withdrawal came in the wake of the fatal gun attack in which two members of the Togo party were killed. The Confederation of African Football (Caf) say the Togolese Prime Minister's insistence that the team came home amounted to 'government interference'. The head of the interim committee running Togolese football, General Seyi Memene, said that a panel of lawyers had been appointed to deal with the case - headed by the president of the Togolese Bar Association. Two members of the Togolese party were killed in the attack He said the suspension imposed by Caf should be put on hold whilst the case is heard - although that has not yet been confirmed by either the court or the confederation. General Memene is also a vice-president of Caf but he denied that there was any conflict of interest in his position. "First of all I am Togolese, so I pray to God that this sanction is lifted," he said. General Memene was appointed by football's world governing body Fifa in January to try and resolve the disputes which have divided the Togo Football Federation. When they imposed the two tournament ban, Caf said the Togo players had wanted to continue playing in Angola, but were forced to return by their country's government. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/africa/8512230.stm |
it so happened that there was this handsome dude who had never had experienced intimacy before - by chance, his first girl happened to be this babe who wasn't a novice in the dating game - one day while they were neck deep in rommance and were in a very high mood, the guy decided to take the plung and experience intimacy for the very first time to which the babe (who was now really in the mood) agreed - in no short time, the guy was inside the babe and the babe, who had been eagerly expecting this moment and was excited about the size of the guy's manhood, moaned in ecstacy "honey you are sooo big!", the guy (obviously short of words but trying to reciprocate the girl's comment) replied "thanks darling you are sooo wide!" |

Eriksson joins Nigeria jostle Posted: 2010-02-11 14:39 Former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has formally joined the line-up to take over the vacant job of Nigeria coach. KickOffNigeria.com understands that a formal letter from Eriksson's agent Athole Still expressing the Swede's interest for the job was received by the Nigeria Football Federation on Tuesday. Still however, declined to comment on the situation "I cannot speak on my client's situation at this time," Still told KickOffNigeria.com. That comment is a marked and telling departure from the last time, a few months ago when Eriksson was mentioned in connection with the job and Still categorically and unequivocally denied that his client was interested. Guus Hiddink, Louis van Gaal, Hassan Shehata, Ratomir Djukovic, Peter Taylor and Giovanni Trappatoni are the other names under consideration, although van Gaal and Shehata have ruled themselves out of the running, while the Russia football federation spokesman Ilyav Kazakov said his bosses would not release Hiddink to Nigeria. The NFF have set the end of February to name a new coach, but Still says that would be too late for his client. "I am not confirming that Eriksson is considering or being considered for the Nigeria job, but he has three major job offers and the end of February would be too late for him." Tow of those job offers, according to Still, are from World Cup-bound teams. NFF Executive Committee member Taiwo Ogunjobi, who is at the head of the team coordinating the head hunt for a new coach, also declined comment. "We don't want to employ coaches on the pages of newspapers," he told KickOffNigeria.com. "We have done enough talking. Now, we want to do our business confidentially and make a decision after our interviews on February 26. http://www.kickoff.com/2010/news/13850/sven-goran-eriksson-joins-nigeria-jostle.php "It is not good for us to keep talking about different people, and it is also not fair to the people we are speaking with." How protocol embarrassed Jonathan Written by Okey Muogbo ACTING President Goodluck Jonathan could not get a triumphant entry into the Federal Executive Council (FEC) chambers meeting, on Wednesday, as the protocol officers did not usher him in, as was done to substantive presidents. The acting president came into the meeting unannounced against the convention that the protocol officer should announce to the waiting cabinet members that the president had arrived, a call that instantly makes members to stand up to usher in the president. In an apparent conflict of duty between the two protocol officers, the acting president was left to his own fate. President Umaru Yar’Adua’s protocol officer, Inuwa Baba, apparently relaxing that his own boss was not around, did not announce the arrival of Jonathan while the acting president’s protocol officer, apparently not used to his new boss’s position, also kept mum. That was not the only embarrassment that heralded the first FEC meeting Jonathan would chair as acting president. His protocol officer, instead of guiding him to the seat of the president, chose to usher him to the seat of the vice-president but he (Jonathan)promptly ignored him and went to the seat of the commander-in-chief. As he made for the seat of the president, there was anger and surprise on the faces of some of the ministers, especially those who were known to have worked against Jonathan becoming acting president. As expected, at 10.00 a.m. all the ministers were seated, as nobody wanted to test the might of the acting president. It was only Mr Aondoakaa who arrived at 10.19a.m. because he had gone to Jonathan’s office for consultation. After Mr Aondoakaa had settled down, Chief Economic Adviser to Yar’Adua, Dr Tanimu Yakubu, went to meet him and the duo chatted. By 10.21 a.m. the acting president walked in. From the pattern of interaction, before reporters left the chambers, it was obvious that Yar’Adua’s men, especially Alhaji Sayydi Abba Ruma, Tanimu Yakubu and Mike Aondoakaa, had lost their influence as they were deserted by other ministers who in the past used to cluster around them to curry favour with them. Alhaji Ruma is the Minister of Agriculture. |

i have a stable partner and we love each other to bits - now there is this lady in my company who is my superior - she is very attractive but very strict. i noticed since i've joined the company that she has a soft spot for me and always cracks jokes with me. Sometimes she even allows me to have off-days when i cannot come to work and sometimes she makes some suggestive comments. recently she asked me to join her for lunch and we both travelled in her car to an eatery. She then confessed to me that she likes me and would love to develop a closer relation with me - i'm confused and i don't know what to do because she is my boss and is very influential in the company. I don't want to lose my job. Though i told her i will think about the offer and get back to her, even if i decide to say yes, my gf has a friend of hers who works at the same company and she might suspect if anything develops and gossip to my girlfriend - i'm really confused - pls advice ![]() |

Obama’s envoy meets IBB By CHINELO AGINA Wednesday, February 10, 2010 General Ibrahim Babaginda Photo: Sun Publishing More Stories on This Section Special envoy of United States president, led by Ambassador Jonnie Carson will meet former military President, General Ibrahim Babaginda as part of ongoing efforts at resolving the lingering political crisis in the country. The Assistant Secretary of State, who has been in the country is expected to confer with the ex-military leader and other major stakeholders in the country to break the cycle of crisis in Nigeria. Specifically, core issues of bilateral relationship between the two countries and sustenance of democracy in Nigeria would top the agenda when the envoy meets Babangida at his Hilltop home in Minna, Niger State capital. Besides, the meeting with the former president, Ambassador Carson is expected to parley with a wide range of political stakeholders on the way forward for Nigeria, particularly, the inclusion of Nigeria on the list of terrorist states. Bilateral ties between the US and Nigeria were severed when on December 25, 2009, 23 year-old Farouk Muttallab, nearly bombed a Detroit plane carrying over 250 passengers. Though security operatives apprehended Muttallab, the botched attempt caused Nigeria to be included on the US list of terrorist countries. However, opinions are rife that in the light of the prolonged crisis in the country, pressure may be put on Babangida to contest in the forthcoming 2011 general elections as a way to give the country a stable leadership. Ambassador Carson is also expected to use the occasion to commiserate with Babangida over the death of his wife, Hajiya Maryam Babangida. http://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpages/news/national/2010/feb/10/national-10-02-2010-004.htm |
It has come to our notice that the so-called "New Foreign Coach" exploration, is a deliberate ploy by the NFF, to shadow-box with the angry Nigerian resentments over the issue of Amodu and South Africa 2010. In the end, the source confirmed; the NFF- unable to conclude a contract with a high ranking foreign coach, will plead to Nigerians, for the safest option: "allow Amodu to lead the Eagles to SA." The agreement also included a back-up assistant position by Stephen Keshi. This decision was reached after the vocal opposition (over allowance) to Lulu, was "SETTLED" Friday night. Amodu was then asked to continue with his World Cup project, by organizing friendlies and camping of Nigerian-based prospects. These two acts were confirmed to be uninterrupted efforts, toward the buildup for the 2010 World Cup Finals. The public and the most vocal critics will raise hell, but the campaign is in tact and the opposition will not amount much, Lulu and co agreed. Therefore, in the coming weeks, the NFF will engage in a charade of exploring some unwilling super coaches, while the decision to maintain Amodu has been cast in stone! http://community.vanguardngr.com/forum/topics/lulunff-pulling-a-wool-over |

Guus Hiddink's representative Cees van Nieuwenheizen has told KickOffNigeria.com exclusively that the Dutch coach would consider a pay cut in order to coach Nigeria, but said any move would only happen with the approval of the Russian Federation. "Guus is a loyal employee of the Russian Football Federation. He has a contract until July 15 and he never breaks a contract. If, and I say if because we have not been officially contacted by the Nigeria federation. "If we get such an offer, we will have to discuss with the Russian Federation and if there could be an agreement with the Russian federation, then Guus could consider the situation. "Currently there is a new president at the Russia Federation and we are talking about the future of after July 15, whether he stays or goes and that might change the situation a bit. "Already, he has received offers from other countries who want him to take them to the World Cup. One of them is North Korea. Guus did not want to go anywhere because he did not qualify Russia for the World Cup, but now with the new president, things might have changed." Hiddink currently earns an ear-bursting $8 million a year with Russia, but van Nieuwenheizen says if an agreement can be reached, Hiddink would countenance a significant reduction in those earnings. "If there could be the possibility of a cooperation with the Russian Football Federation to release Guus for 2010 World Cup, then if he will go with any country to South Africa, like in this instance Nigeria, then he cannot make the same money he is making in Russia because the financial situation of many federations in Africa is completely different. "There is no Mr Abramovich in Nigeria, so this is a sporting challenge that Guus would see as a great opportunity to be back on the highest platform of global football with a strong team such as Nigeria. "From that perspective, it could challenge him. Then he would go more for the sporting challenge than the financial challenge." NFF executive committee member Taiwo Ogunjobi, who is coordinating the head hunt for the Technical Adviser as chairman of the NFF's technical Committee, says all six coaches on the shortlist have been contacted. But van Nieuwenheizen says the only contact he has received regarding the Nigeria job was an email last weekend from football agent John Shittu. "I am now talking to somebody representing the media, I have not been in contact with anybody from the Nigeria Football Federation. We received an email from somebody in London, a Mr John Shittu with a number to call. I do not call the number. "If there is somebody from the Nigeria Football Federation interested, they should call me, then I will tell them the same story that I am telling you. "We are not in a position to take any initiative because we have not received any formal contact and Guus is not looking for a job. "I only want to talk to somebody from the Nigeria federation, if they are interested. Under the circumstances we cannot do anything. "I do not consider that as an offer. My number is available and they can contact me, same as you did. If they want to talk to Guus, they can call, but I do not call a number of anybody I do not know. "A lot of people call and claim to be from Nigeria and we cannot talk to anybody. But if somebody calls and says he is the President or the General Secretary, then we can speak to the Russia federation and we can find a solution." Shittu, who also manages Joseph Yobo and John Mikel Obi, admitted to KickOffNigeria.com that he did indeed contact the Hiddink camp. "Yes, we sent him the email and we are representing the Nigeria Football Federation in these negotiations," he said. "We believe that Hiddink is the kind of man who will bring discipline, organisation and the right tactics to the Super Eagles." KickOffNigeria.com also understands that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, who finances Hiddink's Russia wages, will not stand in the way of the coach if he decides to make the Nigeria move. A final shortlist of three is expected to be submitted to the NFF executive committee before the end of the month, but van Nieuwenheizen says he is uncertain if a resolution can be reached with the Russia federation in such a short time. "I don’t think we can find a solution in the next few days. The new president came in last week, Guus had one discussion with him and then they went to Poland for the Euro 2012 draws. "They will speak again, but I do not think it will be possible to find a solution quickly." |
