horsepower101:This is what we're saying. A qualified and reputable construction coy would have had at the back of their mind they were working in the rainy season and planned for it accordingly, so the rains don't come and wash away all their effort. |
Cjrane2:Another angle to this we're forgetting is the role of the state ministry of works. Aren't they supposed to have a quality monitoring/control unit in the ministry staffed by experienced and qualified personnel? My guess is that wherever you see a shoddy construction job done (in any state of this country for that matter) that fails after a few weeks or months, then better believe there's a compromised state gov't official that can be linked to the job! After the washing away of the gutters and road on Mgbemena street a week or so ago, the first person the Governor should have issued a query to was the commissioner for works, who in turn would ask questions of the quality and control unit of his ministry! It seems we're caught between a rock and a hard place with this issue of local or foreign contractors. If we award the contract to a tried and tested coy like Julius Berger (that's if we have the money to afford them), they would do a quality world-class job that would last for years and improve the ambience of the state (like Uyo for instance), however this would lead to capital flight. On the other hand, if we award the contract to a local coy still learning the ropes, the money would remain in the state, but we would have a situation similar to what we saw with Mgbemena street; a case of penny-wise-pound-foolish, where we would have to come back to the same project a few weeks later to do it all over again...possibly with the attendant loss of lives and property! |
Isn't it a bit ironic that the very same leg he used to trek for Buhari has been struck with affliction? Looks like his ancestors are angry with him for seeing black and calling it white...for seeing a lie and calling it the truth! Same thing will happen to the fingers and mouths of all the two-faced hypocrites typing, writing and yapping in support of the resident evil in Aso Rock! |
notoriousbabe:What's the point of this silly comparison thread? I'm really getting sick and tired of you tribalistic fools! |
Basic123:There's enough blame to go around! |
Chicagoesontop:Even the Igbos worst enemies (and there are quite a few on here ) who love their 'one Nigeria' would agree Igbos were pivotal to the emergence and sustenance of the geographical entity called Nigeria right up to 1st Oct' 1960! This is a fact too difficult to repudiate! Ziks contemporaries of the time, Awo and the Sadauna, were less Nigerian and more Yoruba and Arewa, while Zik on the other hand (possibly as a result of his upbringing) was naively more Nigerian than Igbo! If he thought of his people the way Awo and the Sadauna thought of theirs, then maybe he would have realised he was tying his people into an unfavourable situation....especially when one considers the anti-Igbo sentiment of the time that came from the likes of Akintola and the Sadauna, not to mention the targeted killings of Igbos and other southerners in the north pre-1960! For Nigeria to rediscover its mojo, we have to return its political-economy back to factory settings (ie, what we all agreed on the eve of independence in 1960). |
gidgiddy:Bros, are you one of those that think if oyel dries up today then the northerners would see no point in 'one Nigeria' and be relaxed about seeing Igbos leave? You have another think coming! There are some groups/ethnicities/regions that would still want the colonial contraption to continue if oyel dries up (however they may be more amenable to a little restructuring), this is because they feel more comfortable sharing the same country with certain groups/ethnicities/regions who they see as achievers and highly driven, even though they would never admit it out in the open! The success of the achieving side rubs off on them, so they can afford to relax knowing others are there to cover up their shortcomings! Check when you hear of 'Nigerians' at home and abroad achieving feats in science/technology, sport, music, academics, banking/finance, diplomacy, etc....90% of them come from a certain side of the country. Now do you think the side that's holding the short end of the stick in all this would want to see the other achieving side detach from them? Besides, 'one Nigeria' is beneficial to these people not just because of oyel, but also because they can afford to rest on their oars safe in the knowledge that quota-system and federal character would see them secure employment and appointments at the federal level whether they go school or not. Also, 'one nigeria' is sweeting them because over the years they have managed to secure first dibs to all the juicy appointments going in most juicy federally owned/controlled establishments and security outfits like NPA, NNPC, TETFUND, Customs, Army, Police, Judiciary, Abuja, etc! Finally, we also have the issue of access to the sea. As of today, not only do they have access to the sea courtesy of 'one Nigeria', but they're also controlling the seaports and airports as the icing on a very tasty cake! You think for one moment they wanna give all this up and wave goodbye to Ndigbo or Biafra just because oyel has finished? ![]() |
CodeTemplar:If states like Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Bayelsa and Delta haven't saved money for the rainy day, then they had better start today! They need to place at least 10% of their derivation into a sovereign wealth fund, part of which would be invested while the other part saved in a interest yielding account. A state like Bayelsa may have more challenges than others in future due to global warming and rising seal levels, so they need to get their economic enablers like airports, sea ports and power stations in place ASAP! |
Gamesmart:If you can't read my post and discern how it rubbishes that silly question you're asking then it just goes to show how thick you are! |
TimeManager:Quit waffling and corroborate your assertion with links to news reports and write-ups by independent/international observers at the time! You claim the Biafran soldiers raped and killed throughout the Mid-West abi? Oya, cherry-pick you own lets see! You see, the most mind-boggling thing here is how you can fabricate stories and support obvious evil just because you want to 'win an argument' on nairaland! You suspend you morality and good judgement just because the atrocities are against the Igbos you hate passionately! I've just engaged you tonight so neutrals can see how empty you actually are, and how you're devoid of any shred of morality and good conscience! You're pure evil, but i suppose i'm not telling you what you don't already know! Kiss my hairy black arsse! ![]() |
TimeManager:Just replied you above. Waiting for your response. Kiss my black arrse! ![]() |
TimeManager:So we can say that your kinsmen are vile rapists and war criminals, and it's a tag you wear with pride? Nice one! ![]() As for Biafran soldiers raping and killing in the Mid-West, you have any independent news report at the time to help corroborate your assertion? Remember that it was a war for the heart and minds of the citizens, so any such incidence of Biafran soldiers 'raping and killing' in the Mid-West would have been capitalised on by the Nigerian side and broadcast for Nigerians and the entire world to know just how bad the Biafrans were. Now can you refer us to or provide links of news reports or independent reports at the time of these war crimes by Biafrans? ******* ******** ****** Throughout late 1966 and 1967 the tempo of violence increased. In September 1966 attacks on Ibos in the north were renewed with unprecedented ferocity, stirred up, eastern region officials believed, by northern political leaders. Reports circulated that troops from the northern region had participated in the massacres. The estimated number of deaths ranged from 10,000 to as high as 30,000. More than one million Ibos returned to the eastern region in fear. These massive arms exports were being secretly supplied – indeed, massively stepped up – at a time when one could read about the actions of the recipients in the newspapers. After the Biafran withdrawal from the mid-west in September 1967 a series of massacres started against Ibo residents. The New York Times reported that over 5,000 had been killed in various towns of the mid west. About 1,000 Ibos were killed in Benin city by local people with the acquiescence of the federal forces, the New York Review noted in December 1967. Around 700 Ibo males were lined up and shot in the town of Asaba, the Observer reported in January 1968. According to eyewitnesses the Nigerian commander ordered the execution of every Ibo male over the age of ten. Humanitarian suffering, especially starvation, was severe as a result of the FMG’s blockade of Biafra. Pictures of starving and malnourished children went around the world. The FMG was widely seen as indulging in atrocities and attacks against civilians, including apparently indiscriminate air strikes, in an increasingly brutal war in which civilians were the chief victims.http://markcurtis.info/2007/02/13/nigeriabiafra-1967-70/ PS: Oh, and kiss my black arsse! ![]() |
TimeManager:TimeManager, i'm assuming you saw my last response to your post! Now we have a situation where Hausa/Fulani, Yoruba and Middle-Belt soldiers lay siege to large swathes of the SE during the 1967-70 war, as a consequence of this you brag that soldiers (who were under the command of individuals like 'Black Scorpion') that went to fight Biafrans to 'keep Nigeria one' ended up impregnating hundreds of vulnerable Igbo girls. You say this is the norm in war, and it is acceptable for soldiers to impregnate the girls in areas where they occupy/invade. TimeManager, if this is not rape and war crimes, can you tell us what label you would give it? Kiss my black arsse! ![]() |
Ngokafor:No, don't call the moderators. I want to understand this guys thinking which defies logic. |
Xander85: |
TimeManager:You see, this is the prevaricating and skirting around the question i asked you to avoid! I'll repeat: TimeManager, based on your assertion that the Hausa/Fulani, Yoruba and Middle-Belt soldiers 'lay siege in the woods, plains and hilltops across the SE', are you categorically stating that said Hausa/Fulani, Yoruba and Middle-Belt soldiers took advantage of this to rape vulnerable Igbo women, which then led to the 'mixed DNA' you bragged about in your earlier post? As a consequence of this, are you positing that the Hausa/Fulani, Yoruba and Middle-Belt soldiers that took part in that war are rapists and war criminals....because this is the only deduction one can make from your statement! My question requires either a YES or NO! TimeManager, are you equally saying that it is normal and acceptable for soldiers to rape the women and children of the territory they're occupying/invading? Your post i'm quoting implies so, but i just want confirmation that i actually understood you right. Kiss my black arsse! ![]() |
TimeManager, waiting for your response. Cheers! ![]() |
TimeManager:Interesting! How did you come about this assertion that 'thousands of children of mixed gene populate the SE'? Are you telling us Igbo women were raped by Hausa/Fulani, Yoruba and Middle-Belt soldiers? Are you telling us that Hausa/Fulani, Yoruba and Middle-Belt soldiers during the uncivil war were rapists? Are you actually saying your kinsmen are despicable war criminals? I want a direct and definitive YES or NO...no prevaricating please! Kiss my black arsse! ![]() |
stano2:Hehehehe ![]() This is why i laugh at all these naive southerners thinking their PVCs count for anything and that they can use them to get rid of Buhari in 2019! Newsflash: Buhari ain't going nowhere, and it's got nothing to do with him getting the higher number of validly cast votes in the upcoming elections! As we speak, hordes of underaged almajiri voters and millions of illegal immigrants from Niger are primed, ready and waiting....each with their 5-6 voters cards in hand! All they're waiting for is the greenlight from their mallams and they'll storm the voting booths in their numbers to overwhelm and harass the terrified youth corpers in charge who would be forced to clear as many 'voters' as are presented to them...that's if they wish to live to tell the tale! |
chairman00100:I support Biafra because i know that suggestions like the ones Selemempe and i proffer would never be implemented! Hell would first freeze over! |
selemempe:Sad thing is that you and i know all these our suggestions, though pragmatic and doable, would never be implemented! No forget say na Nigeria we dey, so all these our discussions are just academic! ![]() |
blujoi:Issues like epileptic power supply, bad roads, poor education system, poor health care, etc, are all symptoms of the problem. For Nigeria to witness a period of peace and prosperity for the first time since the 60s, it first has to be reset back to factory setting; ie, return back to the structure agreed upon by all the regions prior to independence (of course with slight modifications to reflect present day realities). Every region should have the autonomy to be able to chart its own economic journey without having to wait for Abuja to give the greenlight on everything! They should own the resources found within their regions/states and pay a tax or percentage of profits to the centre like was done in the 60s. Critical economic enablers like seaports and aviation should be on the concurrent list so regions/states are not beholden to the whims and caprices of Abuja and whosoever happens to be the president at the time. Regions/states should have their own police and constitutions. The centre should be made less attractive like it was in the 60s when the likes of Ahmadu Bello preferred to be Premier of his region rather than Prime Minister of Nigeria. Quota system should be phased out over say a ten year period, and merit should be the primary consideration for getting appointments at the centre. Recruitment and appointments can be handled by a international recruitment organisation....this would help spur regions on to compete with one another when the playing field is level and fair, and Nigeria would be better off for it. If the above is done, it would engender a new sense of nationalism and pride for ones country, the kind of which hasn't been witnessed since the early 60s! Not only that, it would also it take the wind out of the sails of separatist organisations like IPOB, and would encourage FDIs and tourism which as a consequence would push Nigeria into the league of the top ten most developed countries within ten to fifteen years! |
FarahAideed:Word! |
Josef Mengele wasn't 'materialistic' but was just as evil so what's your point! ![]() |
CSTR1005:Bros, ignore them! ![]() The psychology behind their pouring into every thread on Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu to insult her and her family is simply misplaced aggression! They know we Igbos love Ikemba and his wife, and since they hate us but can't seem to figure out why, they now see abusing Ambassador Bianca as a way of trying to get as us! But it's all water off a ducks back, as you can see how radiant and happy Ikembas' family looks! God turns the inexplicable hate from these vile creatures into blessings for the Ojukwu family! ![]() |
itswell1:Heheheheh ![]() Imagine a thread on jollof rice eliciting such bitterness from you! You really have a serious problem even a shrink would struggle to fix! As can be gleaned from your post history, you're chained down and tortured by your hate for Igbos! Problem is, the people you're hating on are blissfully carrying on regardless! ![]() |
sanpipita:Calabar are the best cooks, then come the Igbos. |
Damn! That family is gorgeous....even Biancas' older sister! |
Iwantslavesgone:I get it, you're making a definitive statement that the 'coward' fled. Now, answer the questions i asked in my previous post: Where did he flee to, which passport did he use, did his parents who are equally missing flee with him, and how did he get past the fulani army that were swarming all over the place? Cheers. ![]() |
Iwantslavesgone:So you have information that the 'coward' fled? Where did he flee to, which passport did he use, did his parents who are equally missing flee with him, and how did he get past the fulani army that were swarming all over the place? You seem to be privy to what happened so maybe you can fill us in! ![]() |
Iwantslavesgone:OP, hope you've got your answer? This dude i'm quoting is telling you to stop asking about Mazi Kanu because Buhari sent his fulani army to go murder him and his parents. And if you think IPOB has been silent, then you've just not been listening to the right sources! Hope this answers your question now? ![]() |
sekem:Where did this fool jump out from? Did you read the initial post of the guy i quoted before jumping in because you just couldn't bear your darling APC being exposed for the fraud they are? Is that it? This was the guys initial post that i responded to: Gamesmart:Your fellow idio/t was the first to turn the argument partisan, which prompted my asking him if Nigeria has progressed or retrogressed under his darling APC! He implied Atiku is a thief and that PDP will loot the treasury given half a chance! Now can both of you tell me where and when Atiku was convicted of stealing anything? Is it not a fact that a majority of the sods that make up APC today are former PDP members; a party you lot love to claim is corrupt as hell...robbed the country blind for 16 years....and who are markedly different from APC that's a party brimming with ideas, men of integrity and saints and angels? I asked him that if this be the case, how come that 3+ years into this administration of 'capable saints', we are yet to recover the billions of dollars you love to parrot was stolen by PDP for 16 years; how come the economic fortunes of the country are yet to reach the level PDP left it in 2015 since we now have a 'man of integrity' at the helm....kwarruption has been reduced (which invariably will mean more money for the treasury)....and for at least the past two budgets, oyel price has exceeded budgeted estimates? Don't even get me started on the widespread insecurity which has now spread all over the country! Insecurity that was once centred mainly in the north-east, has now spread like wildfire and gripped the entire country! It's nature has morphed from being mainly boko haram inspired to now significantly include kidnapping for ransom; farmers/herdsmen clashes; banditry; ethnic-cleansing; headhunting; job-insecurity; the list is endless! Buhari and his inept clique of northern-muslim security chiefs look to be way in over their heads and can't seem to get a handle on things! Personally, i doubt the bastard even gives a fuc/k just so long as he can continue to answer 'president and commander in chief'! The one that really made me want to puke was how he was more interested in partisan-politics few weeks ago, holding meetings in Aso Rock on political strategy and such when some of his soldiers (murdered by the unforgiving yet 'technically defeated' bokos) were being buried! I mean, which president that has at heart the interest of those he leads does that? ![]() You're a blithering fool for stating this: So you want to tell me that I must fulfill every promise I made to you just because I have already made it not minding the fact that realistically speaking, certain constraints have made it quite impossible for me to deliver on that particular promise? You bastards convinced Nigerians that you're a better alternative to PDP, and common sense would suggest you made those promises after a careful study of the situation you're about to face if elected! So yapping about 'constraints' and such piffle just doesn't cut it! If you can't solve the countrys problems because of 'constraints' then you have no business seeking a second term....just get out of the kitchen if it's too hot for ya and let capable hands take over! In any case, some may want to argue that many of said constraints are of your own making! Go tell the man on the street...all the millions that have lost their jobs...and all those that've committed suicide (you can use a babalawo for this one) that their fortunes are now better in this Buharis' second coming! You'd be lucky if they don't punch your face in! |

. Ipob and briafrans are nothing but loud mouth cowards , who were born to be slaves and second class citizens.
