ivandragon:Spot on! |
Qsscruz:Right from the time they were gathering like locusts pre-2015 elections, i noticed the type of people APC were attracting to their fold: desperate, bitter and angry politicians; those who see politics as a do-or-die affair and would willingly spill blood to actualise their selfish ambitions! Just take a cursory look at the greedy desperadoes that make up their ranks and you'd begin to appreciate what i mean: Buhari, Tinubu, El-Rufai, Oshiomole, Timipreye-Sylva, Fayemi (who used to be a honest gentleman, but has now been 'converted' to the APC way), Onochie, Lai Mohammed, etc! This unruly bunch make up a sizeable proportion of the party apparatchik. Is it then any wonder that APC is so unsettled and prone to violence? There was a time when even PDP sported such an unsavoury type in their ranks, but over the years they had become a lot saner, civil and more receptive to the ideals that make democracy what it is. The ones among them not receptive to decency, decorum and a willingness to give ground for the sake of peace are, to a large extent, the ones that 'ported' to APC! |
Hehehehe ![]() Finally, e don clear for their eye! ![]() |
poseidon12:You know in the whole debate about restructure or no restructure, the bolded part of your submission is the crux of the matter...the meat of the issue so to speak! It is exactly because regions would be allowed to develop at their own pace that the debate on restructuring is DOA....ie, restructuring will not happen! Now you would think that nearly 60 years after our so called independence, that all regions (especially those that have greedily monopolised power at the centre the most) would now be equipped and feel comfortable and confident about going it alone. Well, think again! ![]() It is these same people that have monopolised power at the centre the most that are the least confident and have the most misgivings about fiscal federalism and regionalism. And the even more bizarre thing is that it's those that have hardly ever controlled power at the centre that are the most confident! Go figure! |
Omololu001:Hopefully, when all the killing is over we would all come to our senses and go our separate ways! |
biafrandream:Shoddy construction jobs...the bane of the SE in particular and Nigeria in general! |
aribisala0:Of course i instinctively knew you'be here! You need a outlet to ventilate your hatred for Igbos otherwise your insanity would deteriorate! As per the question you asked: You think the abandoned property issue would have happened if the Ijaws hadn't got back-up and weren't encouraged and supported by a big 'masquerade' from outside the region? You actually think the Ijaws of the time would have had the boldness to do this to the Igbo race if some unseen hands in the forest weren't beating the drums for their mad dance out in the open? The very same 'hands' that encouraged them to do this didn't see the need to do likewise in Lagos since they had already got what they wanted: 'one Nigeria', the balkanization of Igboland.....and following from this, easy access to its oyel and gas fields! They didn't do likewise in Lagos so they can come out of the whole sordid affair smelling of roses...so they can say as you're now saying: 'see, we actually 'love' you as we didn't seize your property in Lagos like the Ijaws did in Port Harcourt'! Try something else! ![]() |
selemempe:That was done in an entirely different dispensation and era....then Igbos were equal partners at the national table! Today, it's a totally different scenario...one in which those who are the de-facto 'owners of Nigeria' and their supporters in a section of the south are bristling with hate, suspicion and envy for Ndigbo, and have it as their lifelong ambition to see to the continuation of the 'division' and balkanization of Igboland! They'd be reading this particular issue on this thread with a rising sense of irritation and annoyance, and would be saying to themselves that as long as they have a say in the matter, the integration of the entire Igboland (this primarily includes Igbos in the SE, Rivers and Delta states) can only happen when hell first freezes over! ![]() |
Tolexander:You're still saying the same thing as the person you quoted: voting him out means doing exactly what you said they've done before! |
Yyeske:Pull the house down now! what are you waiting for? |
nnamdijonathan:But didn't Akpabio do a similar thing in Uyo? I seem to remember Julius Berger building it. |
Sharpshooota:Hehehehe ![]() |
gaddafe:Not to mention 'jail break'! ![]() |
elgramz:Bros, all you're seeing is her beauty! ![]() |
Ofodirinwa:This was what i was expecting Rochas to expand and make viable again. Anyone remember the 'ikuola nku' initiative? Whatever happened with that? And to think that barrel-for-barrel, palm oil is more valuable than crude oil! Just goes to show that, despite the limitations placed on Imo by Nigeria, with a vision-led and purposeful leadership, it ought to be one of the top 5 richest states in Nigeria! We often moan about how Malaysia came and took samples of our palm nuts in the 60s, and today is making billions of dollars from the entire palm oil industry value-chain, yet all we do is go to Abuja every month, and wait bowl-in-hand for the obligatory handout! Really sad! |
spyder880:That building looks solid and imposing! All Enugu needs now is a serious and proper investment in solid....and i mean SOLID infrastructure to make it one of the top 3 most beautiful cities in Nigeria! It needs investments in: a network of flyovers, a linked-up underground sewage system, working street and traffic lights, and at least 2 sprawling state parks like the Millennium Park in Abuja! If Enugu gets these, it would be the toast of investors and holidaymakers alike! |
asha80:When people complain that some of Rochas' projects look cheap and substandard, this flyover is a good representation of what they mean! Just compare this ugly, uneven looking monstrosity to the sleek and beautiful one delivered by Umahi in Abakaliki! ![]() |
yanabasee:The value and respect education had pre-1966 was eroded mainly because of the military intervention in governance! And the situation was worsened when you consider the type and educational achievement of soldiers that we're governing at the time! The ones calling the shots at the time were the likes of Buhari and Murtala Muhammed....soldiers who owe their rise to the peak of their profession mainly due to quota-system and the desire to 'bump up' northern military personnel (qualified or not) to help fill their quota, so southern military officers don't take everything! How do you expect people like this to know never mind appreciate the value of education? Our citadels of learning which were once the pride of Africa became shadows of their former selves, and it's been downhill ever since! ![]() |
Yyeske:It's 'one Nigeria' peeps like you that would read that and think it's only 'boundary disputes' between Anambra and neighboring states that's preventing it from receiving its 13% derivation from the federal government! Doesn't it strike you as odd that since GEJ declared Anambra a oyel producing state....and the attendant boundary issues that arose from said declaration, that the national boundary commission hasn't been able to give us a definitive answer one way or the other as to who actually owns the oyel? That should tell you it actually belongs to Anambra, but declaring them oyel-producing would go against the script written in the late 60s that said Ndigbo should not be allowed to benefit from their God-given resources, and where possible, the land on which said resources are located should be sliced out with surgical precision and placed in a neighboring 'none Igbo' state! You saw this script being played out when they took Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni (my LGA in Rivers State) and placed in Rivers, not minding the fact they would be dividing a community in two like we saw with Egbema! So the fact Anambra hasn't been declared oyel producing has little or nothing to do with Enugu State and everything to do with the hateful and toxic ethno-religious inspired Nigerian politics and the attendant hate and envy of Ndigbo! Cheers! |
ANSMEDIA:This looks nice. How come there's only one pic? |
I've always said Oguta Lake is yet to get the kind of serious investment that'll turn it into a world-class destination! For that to happen, it would need a private investor willing to invest at least $100-150 Million! This would go into building a proper 5-Star hotel, a water park and part would be used to buy equipment for the lake. Imagine all the tourist potentials waiting to be tapped just from that beautiful lake alone: scuba-diving; water-skiing; high-powered water motorbikes; fishing; night parties on the lake, etc! This is where i had hoped all those numerous foreign trips of Rochas could have yielded returns. I had also hoped that after his 8 years in office, Imo State would have revitalised its palm plantations, which together with tourism would have improved the economic fortunes of the state. The good thing about these two particular ventures is that if they get off the ground, they would positively and directly affect the pockets of the ordinary Imo person....unlike what we see in the oil and gas industry where only a few benefit! |
NobleView:Because they eventually realised nobody besides their zombiefied followers is going to believe that yarn, so they're meeting to cook up another one! ![]() |
Those Igbo senators in APC are greedy moro'ns! I don't know how any Igbo can have anything to do with that anti-Igbo party! ![]() |
maasoap:I don't get your the point you're trying to get across! All the money Nigeria (both federal and state) have been getting since 1970, have they been managing it well? If not, are you also suggesting they shouldn't get what they're legally and morally entitled to just because 'they may mismanage the funds'? What is right is right, and what is wrong is wrong! Give the owners ownership and control of their resources; how they manage or mismanage it is of no concern to anyone else! |
olagbola55:Don't know the point you're trying to make. Where did i say he's doing nothing? |
Ndonu101:Whereas when it comes to the south (esp' SE and SS), any project that is federally-driven or needs federal approval/funds, you see Buhari dithering, procrastinating and being even more sneaky than the Artful Dodger; on the other hand when it comes to the north (esp' the core north), before you can drop you cup of tea and shout WTF Check out what's happening with: the Ogoni cleanup; 2nd Niger Bridge; Onitsha river port; railway construction (where SE and SS have to wait in line till others have theirs first); the new Terminal at AIIA (where work has stopped while those in Lagos, Kano, Abuja and Port Harcourt are soon to be commissioned);etc! Now juxtapose the snail pace of approvals/works on these projects with the speed with which the following were approved/built: the illegal deduction of $1 Billion for security in the north east; Baro inland river port; Kaduna inland port; Kaduna-Abuja rail; Abuja metro; the terminals in Kano, Kaduna, Abuja and Lagos airports, etc! 'One Nigeria', don't you just love it? ![]() |
Since he thinks he can be a smartarse and not play ball, they've decided to reopen his case! ![]() |
Homeboiy:After the north and the south west get theirs! ![]() |
If you were born and grew up in Nigeria, over the years you tend to develop a tough skin that can handle something even as hurtful as racism! It's like water off a ducks back to a typical Nigerian, as we've seen, been told and coped with much worse in Naija! See one way to handle racist jibes from ignorant mofos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RFi9-1p1LWI |
Paperwhite:Exactly! If he's sneaking out in the middle of the night to go beg R-APC members not to quit the party, then it stands to reason that he's losing sleep over the matter! Or am i missing something!? ![]() |
Rrankdonga:Hehehehehehe ![]() Wicked! ![]() |
