So if they ask this one at the gates of heaven what brought him there so early he would say he was clobbered to death by an irate mob for attempting to snatch a ballot box?

Serves him right! There's now one less thug in the country to mess things up!

He suppose know boys are hungry and angry at the moment and not everyone is crazy about this sai baba and APC-change nonsense! This should serve as a warning to other thugs nursing ideas of snatching ballot boxes in areas they consider opposition strongholds!

I have studied the inner streets of Enugu using google maps and I noticed that most of the city "Inner" roads are tarred. How was the various Enugu governments able to do this when other Igbo state governors are struggling to do the same?
I've noticed this as well. I think the concerted effort to construct inner-city streets started with Nnamani, and subsequent governors have built on it.

I don't understand why some igbos are insulting me here over calling Zik a fool.

If calabar had been the capital of old eastern region, would your brothers be going to Lagos to import cheap Chinese crap while getting insulted by the ingrate lazy yorubas?

What then is the call for eastern ports when you still revere Lagos?

It seems there is a Joe Igbokwe in every Igbo man.

Look at Abuja and how igbos have cemented their destinies in the hands of jihadist blackmailers.

You refuse to identify with your own homes and that closes to you but rather carry your foolishness like Zik to Lagos and zungeru.

Why then won't the yorubas mock you and the Awusa threaten you at every opportunity.

I keep saying that you igbos living in the north are the only ones giving these barbarians the opportunity to have the audacity to come to the negotiating table with their threat to repeat another pogrom.

Can you not learn from your stupidity and that of zik?

IPOB failed because you like the Hebrews in Egypt that refused to follow moses saw the little scraps you benefited in Egypt over your salvation.

Biafra failed primarily because of your arrogance towards the ND and your own fair share of traitors as it us no secret that many igbos became rich after the war as a result of their treason towards biafra?

If Biafrans can not help themselves then who can?

I am a staunch supporter of biafra primarily because I believe every people deserve the right to self rule and that I am in principle against multiculturalism plus the most important fact that an Igbo nation will see to an emancipation of other oppressed minority people in this God forsaken Marxist contraption.

Now, once again, Zik remains a fool. If you support Zik stupidity blindly then you are no different than the Yoruba bastards who still worship that criminal Awolowo.
I don't blame any Igbo that insults you....you deserve it and much more! It's clear as day that your intentions for starting this thread are not genuine at all and that you've unsuccessfully tried to mask your anti-Igbo sentiments! You fool no one but dyed-in-the-wool Igbo haters who just relish the thought of Igbos receiving a bashing from those they erroneously believe to be fellow Igbo who hate Biafra; Mazi Kanu; unity in the area of the old Eastern Region; but love 'one Nigeria'! You think you can throw us off the scent by abusing Awolowo and northerners as well, but it ain't happening!

Try as you may it's just very hard to carry on the pretence for a sustained period of time, and sooner or later the hate, derision and bile you have for Igbos always manifests itself! I highlighted the portions of this post that show just that!

Who told you IPOB have failed? Who told you Biafra has failed? Or is that what you've secretly been praying for? One would be forgiven for thinking you're actually from those certain parts of Nigeria that hate Igbos yet equally hate Biafra and IPOB that could be used as vehicles to get rid of them from Nigeria for good!

For your information, the economic blueprint Dr M.I Okpara had for the Eastern Region was to make Port Harcourt the New York of the East, as Enugu was its political capital. It made sense seeing as Port Harcourt already had a seaport, railway linking it to the interior and already had gained some economic traction right from colonial times. Or were you expecting both Port Harcourt and Calabar to be the economic and political capitals respectively?

One wonders why the same Igbo haters that would be cheering you over this find nothing wrong with their 'one Nigeria' moving the capital from Lagos to Abuja!

The obsession is real and getting worse by the day! shocked

An unnecessary question is asked about Igbos relationship with Biafra and Mazi Kanu, and you -a known bigot and Igbo hater- rushed in like clockwork to give your unsolicited two cents! Who asked you?

I put it to you that the main reason you despise Mazi Kanu and IPOB is that since the end of the uncivil war, this gentleman and the organisation he leads have proven to be the biggest threat to the continued existence of the defined geographical space called Nigeria! You cannot fathom any kind of reasonable existence on your own without the existence of 'one Nigeria' AS IS, because you are aware that you and yours are leeching off the sweat, resourcefulness and resources of others! By extension, this is the major reason you hate Igbos too....because as much as you hate them, being in the same country with them is a bitter pill you know you have to swallow! Them being your 'compatriots' is pivotal to your survival and that of your people! Abi na lie i talk?

Care to tell us why you stated 'FFK boasted of sleeping with Bianca'? Only a mad man says something without reason, so what is your reason for making that statement? Assuming for the sake of argument they did 'sleep together', care to tell us why it made such an impression on you to the point that it's always at the back of your mind? Also, since you seem to be obsessed with who slept with who, care to tell us how many people slept with you own mama before she was married (that's if you were born in wedlock), or was she a virgin on the wedding night your father fada deflowered her?

You state in one breath that Mazi Kanu sells pizza, and in another state that he's dead? Which one do we take, and can you tell us your source of information? If he's dead, and since you appear to be privy to classified information, could you tell us who killed him?

Cheers! smiley

What dreamkiller said about polygamy sounds funny but its true.
How can you compete with civilized world in technology whereas fulanis are hell bent in sabotaging all your efforts to rise because they think they have much influence in politics just because they gave good population. ? Don't forget how the efforts of entrepreneurs from the eastern regions are being sabotaged today. The handwriting is obviously on the wall.
I will only agree with your summission if this country is divided, but anything less than that, Easterners should practice polygamy to checkmate the excesses of northern domination. It will be a very sad situation if Igbos start doing such, but they must do it because they don't have an alternative and its also an escape route from northern domination. .. Remember that we are talking of politics here which is a game of numbers.
You can't succeed in technological advancement if you are not in a conducive environment, and the only way you can get that conducive environment is to have a say in politics which is still determined by the number of your people.
But unfortunately, I don't see Igbos practicing such because they are Christians who will see such as a sin. That means the last option is to break this country. Let Igbos who are Christians have their own country and engage in family planning for a better society, while Hausas have theirs and breed more children as they like where nobody will have time to check their population since their Islamic religion permits that.

Cc. Aniomafirstson.
Are you judging the norths numbers by all the ojoro census that has been conducted in Nigeria right from the time of the Brits, when they decided to hand Nigeria over to the 'compliant' north?

Besides, a good number of those huge figures they love rubbing in our faces is made up of Illegal immigrants and their spawn, with a few goats, cows and chickens thrown in for good measure!

This is not to say they don't have a huge population today. But the genuine numbers are as a result of early marriage and polygamy!

I noticed this salient point! I suspected that many of the northern muslims in PDP who held appointive offices in gov't or who were at the top hierarchy of the party....many of them were either secretly hoping Buhari won, or actively but clandestinely worked for his 'win'! This is why it would have been hard for anyone to query the level of fairness and compliance of the 2015 election in the core-muslim-north. I mean, which northern muslim would have the liver to come out in the open to corroborate claims of illegal immigrant voting; underage voting; intimidation of southerners; polling booths situated in Emirs palaces; the list is endless! Remember the Kano REC (i think it was) who was burnt to cinders in a house fire? Nuff said!

Meanwhile, down south we sophisticated moro'ns who are too smart for our own good are busy backstabbing each other and singing like canaries when asked of any election wuruwuru that may have happened in the south!

Ask yourself why it's difficult for PDP to win any election in Katsina, Kano or Zamfara, but you have many instances where APC 'wins' elections in Rivers, Edo and Imo!

It's only fools unable to read between the lines...who can't decode and break down actions and inactions in Nigerian politics and governance that would believe this tripe you lot are trying to sell Nigerians! It's as laughable as the one you put out that Daura was in cahoots with Saraki in order to ruin the 'good and saintly' name of APC and Buhari'!

APC and Buhari are still as devious, calculating, shifty and machiavellian as they come...nothings changed mate!

In all probability, this is what happened: Buhari and Oshiomole schemed a way of removing 'that pesky' Saraki as Senate President. This was to involve allowing only Senators sympathetic to the plan to sit (possibly after forming a quorum) and then vote to impeach the 'muthafucker'! shocked For this they needed the trusty Daura-led DSS...an agency that's in the Presidents pocket. This agency (together with the EFCC and Police) is what the President uses to hound his enemies and do other dirty jobs for the cause from time to time....they are headed by loyalists which allows the President to feign ignorance of whatever questionable or illegal actions that may have been taken!

As with many other dubious and illegal schemes aimed at propping up the APC or fulani oligarchy, i doubt Osibanjo was let in on the plan. So on hearing what was happening, he must have contacted Buhari who after being advised of the public outrage the DSS action had caused both at home and abroad, did what any self-respecting lying despot would do: he denied knowing anything and everything! shocked

This now meant the cabal had no more room for manoeuvre, and it was now only a question of saving Buharis' arsse....and by extension that of APC! So a fall-guy had to be found to take one for the team...this so happened to be poor Daura who was only 'obeying instructions from above'! Oshibanjo must have told Buhari that Daura had to go, and in order to make it look like he was innocent of the entire sordid affair, Buhari must have acquiesced....though through clenched teeth (probably making a note to himself that he has to find a way of getting rid of Osibanjo at the earliest opportunity lipsrsealed)!

Every Buhari and APC loyalist knows that it's either Daura went or Buhari (and by extension, APC) went, so they chose the less painful option, and then went out to spread the narrative to save face that Daura was sacked because Buhari is a 'man of integrity and justice'! cheesy

So forget it mate...Buhari is still as bigoted and nepotistic as they come! You lot aren't fooling anyone but yourselves! wink

Nice one Spyder!

From the pics posted it's obvious our cities owe their progress mainly to individual effort. Gov't and corporate entities could step up their game a bit more.

We need more and better roads and flyovers as well as a few iconic structures that can help define a city. Governor Rochas was thinking on this same wavelength as can be seen from some of the things he tried doing in Owerri: ie, the Akachi monument and the statues of African leaders and achievers.

Corporate entities can also sponsor iconic structures or show their presence by way of providing much needed services. Anambra has benefited the most in this regard as can be seen from the structures put in place by the likes of Dr Maduka, NESTOIL and Stanel. If you go to the Olympic park in Stratford-London, you can't miss the ArcelorMittal Orbit; in New York you have the Statue of Liberty donated to the US by France; in Paris you have the Eiffel Tower partly financed by Gustave Eiffel himself.....all these are examples of non-government efforts to provide iconic structures that helped place cities on the world map. Now i'm not suggesting we go as big as the Eiffel Tower for instance, but i think corporate entities and high networth individuals could do more for their states and state capitals. Besides iconic structures, they could build a public leisure park (which we're yet to get in any city in the SE) or a Cable Car or giant Ferris Wheel for sightseeing which could be named after them.....this would help improve tourism in the state. Imagine if Owerri had a giant Ferris Wheel, what this would do for its tourist potentials!

So, what is the change in our cities and environments? What is our governments doing to improve the infrastructural developments in our cities and towns? Do you see positive or negative changes? Do you think we are moving in the right direction? There are about 100 pictures I am going to attach from about 5 Igbo cities to evaluate our progress, or lack of it.

I covered small areas in about 5 locations, namely;

1. Asaba
2. Nsukka
3. Awka
4. Enugu
5. Onitsha

These pictures are very random, and cannot cover even 5% of each location, but we start somewhere first. Please note that Imo, Ebonyi and Abia states will follow soon.

Igbo Amaka.

Thanks.
Nice one Spyder.

As to your question of whether our cities are moving in the right direction, i'd say there is some movement alright. The question is if said movement is at the desired pace and in the desired direction we want. Presently, i'd say our cities are making baby steps when they should be on a steady brisk walk....asking for a Usain Bolt sprint at this point in time is asking for the impossible considering the restricting political-economy we're operating under.

If we're to get serious, we have to admit that we need a coordinated and concerted effort targeted at our cities to provide them with the necessary WORLD-CLASS infrastructure they need (trains; adequate power supply; intra/intercity roads and highways; environmental care: ie, parks, gardens and sewage/water-treatment system; adequate healthcare; quality schools; and serviced housing estates). This would cost billions of dollars, which is not realistic for now for the reason stated above.

So, yes we're seeing improvements in our cities but they're not at the pace and quality required. If we want to be honest with ourselves, in this Nigeria we're in today, our cities at best can only be considered 2nd tier cities, coming only after the likes of Lagos and Abuja have been considered.

A commendable job done by a son of Ekwulobia. He constructed some of the inner roads of Ekwulobia, and the place is looking like a small London now.

One thing i noticed which the state gov't needs to look into is this penchant for greedy landlords to build their perimeter walls almost on top of the roads, leaving little or no room for pedestrians to walk or future road widening.
