Agriculture › Re: How Profitable Pepper Farming Is In Nigeria by XAUBulls: 4:21pm On Jan 03, 2024
somtovictor111:
Greetings farmers, In this thread I will explain how Easy and profitable pepper farming is though I won't be Explaining in details grin

I started off early last year around the end of February, I did my nursery of roughly 3000 seeds (I pack of the super habanero f1 & the f2) after the nursery process I had at least 2500 seedlings which i transplanted into a small black nylon bag due to the temperature and weather conditions and it made it. easier for me to manage, it stayed at the small nylon bag till it first rain, I have already prepared the land so i transplanted the pepper to field, though it was raining daily but it was enough for the pepper to keep surviving. few weeks after transplant it started producing flowers and bearing seeds during that time it happens to be raining at least twice a week and it made the pepper healthy. around 2nd week of June my pepper started ripping and my first harvest was four bags. I harvest my pepper weekly and it increases after each harvest, during that period pepper was very scarce, costly and Infact,i wasn't meeting up with the supply because of the demand of the pepper in my area, when it was at it peak production I harvested 13 bags consecutively for 6weeks which was shocking and a bag was sold a 19k per 25kg bag. I harvested my pepper for 4 months before the production began to reduce but was still profitable. After the total harvest I made a profit of 200% return on Investment .

Pepper is very easy to maintain as long as you are giving it the necessary requirements and has just 40% stress but the stress can't be compared to the joy of making money every week. grin

We go again this year grin

keep living in fools paradise
You have to be civil in your conversations here and stop being dismissive of intelligent observations.

You obviously didn't watch the full video otherwise you would have discovered the following FACTS!

1. Out of the 5 Kaduna-born impostors, 4 of them are surprisingly from Southern Kaduna who are even Christians or non-Muslims. So this is NOT a Hausa or Fulani domination of Nigeria via Military recruitments (which some headless chickens from page 1 of this thread wanted it to be and they started started their usual bigoted tauntings of Yoruba folks which is completely uncalled for).

2. Only ONE of the 5 has a Hausa accent from the North of Kaduna and he could not speak fluent Yoruba.

3. Digital color printing was definitely used to print the FAKE state of origin documents in the pocession of the 5 boys. This could have been done in a regular business centre just like the Anambra school girl called Mmesoma Ejikeme and her father forged a FAKE JAMB result in 2023 and tried to obtain a fraudulent scholarship with it!

=>https://www.nairaland.com/7757106/mmesomas-father-romanus-ejikeme-apologises

4. Every year, a lot of young male and female potential recruits who are desperate to get into the police and the different arms of the military use fake secondary school results, fake indigeneship documents, age falsifications, etc, to try to get into the military but they MOSTLY always get caught and severely punished by eagle-eyed military and police screeners.

This is a big disgrace on we Yorubas.. in as much as we criticize the Igbos, this will never happen for Northerners to be having their indigeneship certificates. They don't take things lightly as Yorubas do.

Yorubas need to wake up.. this docility and 'I don't care' lifestyle of our people won't take us anywhere.

It's Yorubas working in the L.G.As or L.C.D.As that issued those certificates to them in exchange for money.. whereas Yoruba sons and daughters are being denied opportunities to take up positions in the Army. That is the sad state we find ourselves in.
@Flokii
The documents are obviously FAKE! I'm surprised that you have quickly jumped into conclusions or would think that any official of Yoruba origin would give out such sensitive documents to non-indigenes because there is a quota for each state of Nigeria in military recruitments.

NO Yoruba personnel from Oshodi/Isolo LGA in Lagos State would give out such sensitive state of origin documents to any Hausa or non-indigenes (who don't even speak Yoruba language) without due diligence. We live in the age of digital color printing and more so these things can be done in business centres. These 5 impostors from Kaduna State (5 of them are obviously Southern Kaduna indigenes with Christian or non-Muslim names as clearly stated in the video) should be investigated further and promptly punished severely.

life generally in Abidjan the country's economic capital is pretty cool for anyone seeking a better life to what we have in most Nigerian cities. The constant electricity, less traffic ,good road ,working government ,no omele issue ,no agbero ,good and affordable internet supply and the ever ready French no bribe police and the tranquility it's has to offer makes its more preferable destination to settle in.cost of house differs depending on your location within the metropolis .eyebrow areas such as deux plateau,Rivera, cocody ,angre host expensive accomodation. The ever busy adjame which is synonymous to idumota also has large numbers of Nigerian especially Yoruba with moderate price houses.youpougon which is arguably the largest neighborhood in west Africa is also home to most middle income earners .other areas such as abobo ,willianville, ayanmo also has large numbers of low income houses.food here is relatively abundant and there are lots of sea food been a costal town.
Your safety is guaranteed as there are no highway robbers.to cut story shot there is still much to the city than what I wrote .do not mind my writing I will later find out about the prices of houses here and get back to you.notice business here is strictly legit .

This isn't true! It's nothing about Nigerians at all. Most people I know are generally positive about Nigerians. My experience with Nigerians in the UK have all been positive. (Well, I think some of you can be a little bit paranoid)

Nigerians are starting to get a reputation as being hard working in the West. You shouldn't worry.

It's literally just people worried about the net migration figures and the strain on resources.(Houses, schools etc)

There's some racists too but they're mostly old. I love my nan but...

Okirinwankwa76:
Japa: UK stops Nigerian students, others from bringing dependants.

The Home Office of the United Kingdom on Monday announced that it had commenced the implementation of its policy banning Nigerian students and other overseas students from bringing in dependants via the study visa route.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Home Office reiterated that only those on postgraduate research or government-sponsored scholarship students will be exempted from the development.

“We are fully committed to seeing a decisive cut in migration. From today, new overseas students will no longer be able to bring family members to the UK. Postgraduate research or government-funded scholarships students will be exempt,” the Home Office said.

The PUNCH reports that in May 2023, the United Kingdom put in place a law to stop Nigerian students, and others studying in the UK from bringing family as dependents except under specific circumstances.

This is as the UK government aims to bring down immigration into the country which stands at about one million.

Under the new rule, the UK will remove the permission for international students to switch out of the student route and into work routes before their studies have been completed to prevent misuse of the visa system.

Sky News also added that “there will also be a review of the maintenance requirement for students and dependents and a crackdown on ‘unscrupulous’ education agents who make use of inappropriate applications to sell immigration, not education.”

A statement on the UK’s Home Office official site adds that the “New government restrictions to student visa routes will substantially cut net migration by restricting the ability for international students to bring family members on all but post-graduate research routes and banning people from using a student visa as a backdoor route to work in the UK.

“The ONS estimated that net migration was over 500,000 from June 2021 to June 2022. Although partly attributed to the rise in temporary factors, such as the UK’s Ukraine and Hong Kong schemes, last year almost half a million student visas were issued while the number of dependants of overseas students has increased by 750 per cent since 2019, to 136,000 people.”

The Home Office also noted that this new rule was not at the expense of the government’s commitment to the public to lower overall migration and ensure that migration to the UK was highly skilled and provided the most benefit.

According to them, the proposal is aimed at allowing “the government to continue to meet its International Education Strategy commitments while making a tangible contribution to reducing net migration to sustainable levels. The government has also made clear that the terms of the graduate route remain unchanged.”

So, who is the eye witness you're referring to here? And which documents?

Portuguese sailed ⛵️ into Ereko that they named Lagos in 1472, met Awori Yoruba there, established trading contacts with them and all these were well documented by them. After about 2 centuries later, your oba of Bini forcefully hijacked the control of the trading activities, installed a king on the parcel of land gifted him by Aromire and the 1st oba was installed around 1630s.
My question is how can you establish a place in 1630 when the place was already in existence and in communication with the outside world, Portuguese, as far back as 1472?

INTERVIEW
"At first, I was embarrassed to see elders bow before me –25-year-old Obi of Issele-Uku"

Published April 1, 2017
===>> http://punchng.com/at-first-i-was-embarrassed-to-see-elders-bow-before-me-25-year-old-obi-of-issele-uku/

Can you tell us a little about the Issele–Uku Kingdom?

If you look at our history, we are descendants of the great Benin empire and as the history goes, on or about 1230 AD, Oba Eweka of Benin the first sent his second son, Prince Uwade towards the Eastern part of the Benin Empire first of all to check the influx of the Easterners into the kingdom and secondly to expand the empire. So Prince Uwade came along with his wives and some delegate warriors towards the eastern part, they settled here in the present Issele–Uku. So they settled and practised the same pattern of ascension to the throne like that in Benin. So after him, Prince Uwade became Ogewade and after him, his first son took over. So, that has been our brief history. We are descendants of the great Benin Kingdom.

What are some of the things you will love to achieve during your reign?

In terms of goal, Issele–Uku is very rich in culture and tradition some of which have been eroded. So, my short term goal is to revive a society which we call the “Omu” society, a peaceful united society. My long term goal is to see that our rich culture and traditions are preserved. I want to create an awareness on the need to revive and sustain our rich traditions for the world to see.

What are some of the taboos in this kingdom?

There are so many and we wouldn’t leave here if we start listing them. It is forbidden for an indigene to place a curse on another here and we take that issue very seriously. Then there are certain places in the town where coffins cannot pass through. The taboos are so many and I can’t start giving instances but when you live here you would get to know them.

Before you were crowned, you spent some time in Benin. What is the significance of this tradition to the people of Issele-Uku Kingdom?

Like I said, we are descendants of the Benin Kingdom and the relationship that the Benin and Issele–Uku people hold is very strong. It’s just like the popular saying, ‘if you do not know where you are coming from, you do not know where you are going.’ We understand and know that we have an ancestral link with the Benin people; so we try as much as possible to ensure that we have that relationship intact.

forgiveness:
Hon. Minister, is it possible to pass the border without human contact? Because those shameless immigration forcefully collect money to stamp your passport to go out and even enter your own country.

In fact, all the agencies at the border collect money from Nigerians and even Africans.

Is it also possible to rearrange the clearance of containers at the ports and borders? Because the agent use this opportunity to exploit importers which results to inflation.

They will never allow you to know the real fee of the shipping company, terminal and custom clearance because importers are not allowed to generate the invoice by themselves except through the agent.

I will advise that it be mandated that invoice must be sent to owners directly through email and owners should pay directly into the government account with the name the importer used to import into Nigeria.

That will reduce inflation because some agent with the collaboration of customs wants to make between 1.5m - 2m naira on importation of just one car alone besides others fees.

The owners of these cars wouldn't want to loose money hence add the agent 2m, other fees and his own profits on the vehicle making it extremely expensive. This is where inflation is also coming from.

Owners must be involved in direct payment of imported goods. Assigning this to agent tantamount to being exploited.

Hon minister of Interior, you can do it, sir.
Those are impressive suggestions for removing the inefficiencies that clog the entire system.
