NAFDAC died with Aunty Dora. The new DG is just as useless as the "P" in Psychology
NAFDAC under the leaderships that took over from Dora was very active and busted several fake producers of drugs and fake drinks in especially the South East and Lagos where the items were produced in filthy environments and dirty water. The current NAFDAC DG and her team have a leadership style that works in stealth mode and then strike the enemy after surveillance of the target area, and for over 10 years now, I have seen several videos of NAFDAC sting operations. Below is the video of the NAFDAC sting operation in Aba in December 2023.

Dora Akunyili's leadership style was more combative and brash, so, her actions were publicised and she herself said that those who were doing these fake products were from Iboland were she came from. This led to an attempt to kill her by the criminal syndicate on Anambra State and miraculously, bullets passed through the back windshield of her car in the 2000s after driving into Anambra from Lagos and grazed the surface of her scalp and she had to be hospitalized.

The most important thing is to have stiffer punishments for these annoying crimes.

Our Love Story was That of 'Love At First Sight' - Akeredolu Widow

"I met my husband in Enugu, he was a youth corper then in Enugu. I was also posted to Enugu. So a friend of mine visited me and she came along with her boyfriend who also came along with my husband. That was how we met and it was love at first sight. I think people frown at love at first sight but it worked for us.

I fell in love with his broad shoulders. Then he was really looking very cute. I can still remember what he was wearing that day – a red shirt, long sleeves and jeans trousers. That was 37 years ago. He couldn’t even take me out because he didn’t have money as a youth corper. It was quite magnetic and that was it.

There is a 3-year age difference between us. I am older than him anyway. I was like 25 then while he was 22. It was love that really endured. I had graduated and in my place (Owerri) when a girl graduates from the University suitors come from left, right and centre. And your parents would expect you to go for a made man with everything, but I have always known that there was no way I could have married a self-made man. I will better build a home from the scratch with you because I want to have a say in my home"

Foreign Affairs › Re: Homelessness Soars In Rural England As Living Costs Hit Poor by XAUBulls:
Fareke:
By Tom Jones Usen

Homelessness in rural England has risen by 40 percent in five years with many sleeping in the open air, tents or makeshift shelters, a British rural charity said on Tuesday.

A cost-of-living crisis in the G7 nation and the world’s sixth-biggest economy has left many Britons struggling to make ends meet, as bills for food, energy, rent and mortgages increase.

Annual inflation hit a 41-year peak of 11.1 percent in October 2022, and while it has come down to 3.9 percent in November, charities say a range of factors – notably cuts to welfare payments in the last decade and a housing shortage – has exacerbated food poverty and homelessness.

The CPRE charity, which campaigns for affordable housing in rural England, said homelessness in the countryside had increased from 17,212 in 2018 to 24,143 in 2023, with wages stagnating and housing costs rising in many areas.

"The sharp rise in rural homelessness shows the real-life impact of record house prices, huge waiting lists for social-rent housing and the boom in second homes and short-term lets,” it said.

The charity said 12 local authorities across England –- designated as predominantly rural –- had levels of rough sleeping higher than the national average of 15 people per 100,000.

– ‘Hidden out of sight’ –

The town of Boston, northeast of London, was England’s worst-affected rural local authority for rough sleeping, the charity said.

It said 48 people per 100,000 were sleeping rough in town in September 2023 -– the latest month for which data is available.

Boston was followed by Bedford, north of London with 38 per 100,000, and North Devon in southwest England with 29.

“Unlike those in urban areas, people sleeping rough in the countryside are often hidden out of sight, camping in fields or sheltering in farm buildings,” the charity said.

"They are also less likely to have access to support services. This means the analysis, which uses the government’s own data, almost certainly underestimates the scale of the crisis.”

The charity said 300,000 people are waiting for social housing in rural England –- where the average house sells for around £420,000 ($535,000).

– Food handouts soar –

The Shelter charity, meanwhile, said levels of homelessness across England this Christmas are likely to be 14 percent higher than last year.

It estimated that on any given night in 2023, there were 309,550 people in some form of homelessness, the majority in temporary accommodation.

This is up from its estimate of 271,421 in its 2022 annual report.

The charity blamed a housing emergency for the crisis and warned that the true figure could be higher due to some “hidden homelessness” such as sofa-surfing.

The Trussell Trust, the UK’s largest food bank network, said last month that the number of food parcel handouts to people in need has risen to “unprecedented levels” as poverty spread across the country.

It said it had provided 1.5 million emergency food parcels to people between April and September 2023 — a 16 percent increase on 2022 and the most it has ever distributed at this point in the year.

“This is the highest number of food parcel handouts we have had to give in six months,” it said.

“We are expecting this to be our worst winter ever.”

The global economy has been facing headwinds from hyperinflation. The fact that parts of rural England have been hit is NOT a total surprise.

French were taking over all West Africa. In response the British started taking territories here and there including Nigeria.
Cameroon (Kamerun), Togo, Namibia, etc, were former German colonies that they lost due to their defeat by the allied powers during World War 1.

The British and French took over the administration of those former African German colonies subsequently. Parts of Togo (some parts of the Ewe ethnicity) was merged with Eastern Gold Coast (Ghana) by the British and the rest of Togo came under French administration... Same with Cameroon, while Namibia was administered fully by the British.

The extensive tunnel infrastructure built over the last few years has aided the resilience of this criminal group called Hamas. To make things even more complex, most Palestinians from childhood have been indoctrinated to have intense hate for all Israelis, the Western countries, and non-Muslims just like the Thai and two Tanzanian citizens that were killed (the 21-year-old Black Tanzanian worker in Southern Israel who was videoed being deliberately stabbed to death despite NOT being an Israeli citizen).

Rolls-Royce Boat Tail: $28 million

As of last update in 2023, the title of the world’s most expensive car was held by the “Rolls-Royce Boat Tail,” reportedly costing around $28 million. Not far behind was the Bugatti La Voiture Noire, selling for nearly $18.7 million after taxes. These vehicles are not merely modes of transportation; they are a confluence of artistry, engineering excellence, and exclusiveness.

The Rolls-Royce Boat Tail is proof that quantity and quality can walk together without overshadowing each other. This truly unique car was designed as a coach-built model, the first of three to be made. What does that mean? A bespoke vehicle, based on an existing framework.

This one’s especially impressive as it features elements of a J-Class yacht as well as those of the original 1932 Boat Tail. The Rolls-Royce Boat Tail made its public debut at Italy’s Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este in late 2021 and shows off with its 6.75-liter twin-turbo V12 engine capable of 563 horsepower. It’s officially 2023’s most expensive new car in the world.
Those are kickass features in the car.

Please read this

On the argument that Christmas is a Pagan feast

Another Christmas, and the recycled argument continues on how 25th December is a pagan feast, and how Christ was not born on the 25th.

Some things don’t go well with me, arguments like this that don’t make any logical sense.

Let us agree that Jesus was not born on the 25th, can you kindly suggest to us a new date? And since you know he was not born on the 25th, it therefore means you know or have an idea of the date he was born. Tell us then.

I heard this same argument for Sunday. They said Sunday is a day of worship of the pagan Sun-god and that the meaning of Sunday came from the Sun-god.

I remembered sharing a detailed teaching and telling those propagating that message the reason for Sunday, being that it was the first day of the week, and Christ rose that day and started appearing to his disciples every first day of the week as they gathered behind closed doors in prayers.

I think I should not have wasted my time in doing that, what I should have done would have been to simply remind them that the days of the week as we have them today were all adopted. They are all pagan.

Monday is named after the god of the moon. Thursday is for the Norse god known in Modern English as Thor. Friday is named after the Anglo-Saxon goddess Fríge. Saturday is named after the Roman god Saturn.

There is this impression from some of you that once anything has a pagan origin it is evil and it is impossible for it to be 'Christianized.'

Well, unfortunately, many things came from the pagans, including the papyrus that was used to write the bible in those days. The tradition of offering visitors kolanut in Igbo culture is largely pagan. Even Baptism as we know it today as the pouring of water or immersion in rivers did not start with Christians. Eating pork is pagan. New yam festival is pagan. Ojuju Calabar is pagan.

What some of you fail to see is that the Christian faith must be planted in a culture for it to take root. Even St Paul while preaching to the Areopagus in Act 17:16-34 had to use what the Athens have as an altar to the "unknown god", to plant the message of the living and known God into them.

Once the Christian faith is planted in any culture, it uproots the bad in it and retains the good. This is why once you mention "Sunday" we think about the day of worship in church and not sun-god. This is why 25th December may not be the day Christ was born in your calculation, but it has taken a Christian dimension pushing aside whatever it was known with before. This is why the cross, which was pagan, and seen as a symbol of shame, has now taken a total different meaning the moment Christ was crucified on it.

The pagan cross moved from shame to fame, from gory to glory (let me be looking for rhyme words like a motivational speaker since na watin una wan hear. Nobody should stress me biko.)

#PurestPurity

From Fr. Kelvin Ugwu

In addition... The Savior God or Sun God (Sol Invictus).

Sunday is the day devoted to the worship of the Sun God in an ancient tomes. So Christianity whose day of worship is on SUNDAYS is a continued representation of the worship of the SUN. Period.

So I saw a post on Instagram, brought it here for analyses from rational minds,
A guy in Nigeria owns a business worth N400m in liquifiable assets, business has capacity to make 60-80m a year on average ,but business being business nothing is guaranteed.
Also he can't enjoy his life because he keeps building the business and for fear of the unknown especially due to past trauma and experiences.

He feels he's maxed out as no fresh ideas again around him to push him to the next level as smart minds in Nigeria aren't easy to come by,and life has become monotonous and boring for the guy.

Then his date is pushing for japa ,promising a better future for them in the new land judging from other people's experiences and how "good" their life is and also from people abroad saying life is so good working there bla bla bla...

Also some of the guy's classmates are also doing quite good there too seemingly as one friend there in corporate West just copped a brand new Mercedes and is financing a mortgage in a good neighbourhood, single guy,no joint spousal income whatsoever,
Kind of tempting for the guy as he's bored and tired of this country as monotony has set in and no next big thing.

What would you do if you were in the guy's shoes?

The guy has no experience in corporate world ,neither is he qualified to fit in western corporate spaces.

Would you leave what you've built and its potential because you're bored with the life and chart a new, risky course or would you stay and hope you break out of stagnation in Nigeria?

The guy's trade has achieved some level of autonomy by the way but prolonged absence of founder can stunt the growth plans of the company as with every business.

What will you do if it were you,
Just curious as I found the Instagram post interesting.
This is a very interesting case study.
The description of the specific business model would have been okay to have here so as to get a bird's eye view of the business' longer-term sustainability, (even though as of now, the trade has achieved some level of autonomy).

There are product cycles and business cycles so it is important to factor all these when trying to make firm business projections into the medium-term or long-term.

I've read a lot of business and management books over the last forty years and I would recommend to you to grab and read the fantastic classic, "Think and Grow Rich" By Napoleon Hill and you'll get more unique insights into the IG post you copied on this thread. I first read the book in 1995 and the life and business principles in there are universal.

Seatrade aka logobenz, we meet again. Remember me from this thread where you intended to purchase a passport from one of those countries offering CBI programs to wealthy investors?

There are smart minds in Nigeria. It is either you don't have enough money to hire them as employees, or you don't know how to go about it. To enable such, check PwC and KPMG human resource divisions. They can hire on your behalf after you pay for their services. If dem too cost, go to WorkForce or Dragnet. If your money plenty, meet McKinsey & Co., or EgonZehnder or one of the numerous affiliates in South Africa where such firms are plentiful.

What I described is exactly what Otedola did with his firms. He is the chairman but is never involved in day-to-day activities. He hired the best and left them to run his companies while he solicits deals.

Your issue and hers aren't the good life in the abroad, but accessing the abroad. She probably wants to work in the abroad and see what it has to offer, while also being a resident. To do so, one needs to have a work visa based on the person's skills or be a dependent of a citizen, which none of you qualify.

What you need is a second passport which allows you access to the abroad as a business man or for leisure. You see why you need to hire the best brains to run your company? At this stage, like you said, ideas don finish inside your head. Hire people who are smarter than you are to run the business for you. They will generate ideas for your business while you flex around the world. In the meantime judging from our previous encounter, you don't have the financial resources to purchase a citizenship. So, I recommend you hire good hands to generate ideas and run your businesses for you. While this is done, you allocate at least 10% of earnings or profits into an investment scheme so you can afford this CBI scheme: https://www.henleyglobal.com/residence-investment/canada

I don't recommend Caribbean countries' schemes as they are easily susceptible to being removed for visa access to developed countries. No matter how e bad, Canada cannot lose visa-free access to her peers. Also, remember it is generational. The government can stop other immigration schemes but not this one. Don't apply to European nations; their policies change frequently. Stick to the Americas. I read somewhere that the US has blacklisted Nigerians from applying for her version of CBI. I am not too sure. Contact Henley. They are in Lagos and Abuja.

I remember when you used to criticise folks in the abroad as they were either paying too much tax, wasting their time or doing menial jobs. It is refreshing to see a change of tone and probably realising why they left. Your classmate is most likely a citizen; can always return to Nigeria if he wants; can move to the Caribbean if racism wan finish am for there; his property generates steady value, and he lives in a safe place where things work as they should.

Shey you don see why some of us relocated? Your classmate has what you are looking for, which is OPTIONS. He can afford to do whatever he wants as he desires. Nothing will stop him.

Hire the best brains, as I have mentioned. Enrol in any good program at Lagos Business School or, preferably, this program by Stanford University: https://www.gsb.stanford.edu/seed/programs/transformation
Affiong Williams, wife of Tayo Oviosu, graduated from the program. See the extent she is going with ReelFruits: https://www.howwemadeitinafrica.com/feeding-the-nigerian-diaspora-in-america-a-prime-agribusiness-opportunity/166609/

P.S. Affiong once said she saw no point in relocating. However, she did not mention her husband, Tayo, is a dual American citizen who studied at the University of Southern California and Stanford University. This means she is at least a permanent resident of the US. No Nigerian elite has only the Nigerian passport.

Seatrade, do as they do, not as they say.
Nicely put.

Dear @samsmbah,

Thank you for your feedback. You may or may not be right that our Igbo brethren control 60% of Lagos' wealth. However, according to renowned economist, Adam Smith in his book, The Wealth of Nations, the capital and wealth of a state is usually controlled by manufacturers.

Our Igbo brothers and sisters are not heavily into manufacturing in Lagos. They have a cluster in Nnewi, but are not known manufacturers in Lagos or its neighbouring states. They are more into trading. Thus, it would be strange if they control 60% of Lagos' wealth.

Before your 'revelation', I had seen data showing that when you take into account the volume of taxes paid to the Lagos State Government, Oando, Globacom, Forte Oil, Guinness Nigeria, Nigerian Breweries Limited, Nigerian Bottling Company, West African Portland Cement Company, Nestle Nigeria, Flower Mills of Nigeria, Unilever PLC, and Seven-Up Bottling, which are either wholly or partially owned by persons of Southwest origin, control the largest percentage of Lagos' wealth.

With regard to non-Yoruba capitalists, from the same data pool, I was under the impression that the Dangote Group, BUA Group, and Intels, owned either wholly or partially by Northern Nigerian Fulani, were the largest non-Yoruba investors in Lagos.

But perhaps you have access to data not available to the World Bank, so I will give you the benefit of the doubt and say maybe you are right.

With regards to the 20 pounds issue, historical records prove that the Federal Military Government of General Yakubu Gowon, through radio broadcasts, urged people in the breakaway region of Biafra not to accept the Biafran Pounds as Nigeria would not recognise it.

Upon this announcement by the Federal Military Government, many prudent 'Biafrans' withdrew all their Nigerian Naira and kept it at home. One such Biafran was Evelyn Okororie, who is still alive and told her story to CNN, which published it on January 16, 2020, in a piece titled 'Biafra war: Survivors relive account 50 years after Nigerian civil war ends.'

After the war ended, the Biafran Pound was useless. Even Colonel Emeka Ojukwu did not take them with him when he fled Nigeria to Ivory Coast.

The £20 was a gift from Chief Obafemi Awolowo to Biafrans. He did not have to do it. Both Gowon and his military colleagues were against it.

After the Union defeated the Confederate states during the American Civil War, the Confederate States' dollars became worthless from May 26, 1865. The Union did not give any $20 to holders of the Confederate States dollars, as it should be. After the war, holders of the Confederate States dollars just lost their money. Period. That is the sad reality of war.

As for an Igbo man "bowing" to no one, I counsel you to listen to the 'Yes Daddy' audio between Peter Obi and Bishop Oyedepo.

Thanks again, and may God bless you.

What says SaharaReporters to the story above?
WHAT A BATTLE, I RECOVERED MY HOME!!!
My Cousin, @Victor Ashiedu Fejokwu and his wife, Ruth Sweetie Gold, with a baby, were stranded, infact homeless at the time. I took pity on them, took them in, to house them in my home.

A year ago, when I started making plans to return to continue housing them, they blocked my phone number. I had no access to my letters. Consequently, I missed quite a number appointments.

Having the key to the property, I turned up at the door, twice. They installed bolts and bolted the door from the inside and refused to let me in.

They stopped contributing to the rent when they both have jobs, preferring to host lavish parties.

At some point before they stopped completely, my sister, Queenesther Nwaise helped to settle many months of rent. My immediate family too, helped.

I tried again for the last time. When I knocked, his wife sneaked from the garden into the house, to bolt the front door against me.

Miraculously. Miraculously. She forgot to lock the garden door through where she sneaked into the house. I got access to the house through that door. She called in an IPOB thug and a young lady.

They became nasty. Of course, I called the police who dealt them a heavy blow, telling them they must vacate for me unless I was willing to continue to house them. The cowardly thug ran away before the arrival of the Police. The other young lady, went to my bed and spread herself out. Of course, I got her out.

Then they started pleading to stay.
NO WAY! Two days later, they shamefully moved out.

BUT WILL I BE NICE TO PEOPLE AGAIN?
Absolutely! It's my nature to help. I will continue to be me. We reap what we sow.

Ashiedu and his wife, will reap what they did to me. Bountifully.

I will continue to be me, doing good.
God bless us all
Lauretta Onochie.

I'm indeed happy that Ms. Laureta Onochie was able to get the police to ease out that her highly irresponsible cousin out from her own personal house! Imagine the great betrayal by the foolish male cousin, his wife, and their two kids from hell.

Am I dreaming?! I'm seeing this for the very first time.

This video scene is absolutely ridiculous. What sort of cousin and his two very disrespectful kids are these? Why put out secretly recorded videos of ones blood relative out there to be ridiculed like that?

Ms. Onochie too didn't have to leave Nigeria to face all that disgrace in the UK. Something isn't just right about that. I hope she's gone back to the country to reconcile with the Nigerian Federal authorities... Face what is to come with her full chest, do any refunds if money was allegedly embezzled, maybe serve some time in a correctional centre, and move on to greater things in life.

Why you no go purge when you get heart eat am alone without inviting a sister? You get heart sha. cheesy That's on the lighter side anyway.

Now, the reason could be that they added too much potash and/or seasoning or even pepper to the Nkwobi. You know our body systems differ. Try patronizing a different person, if you still get same experience/result, then know that your body doesn't accept such delicacies. You can then officially move over to sipping garri and groundnut cheesy like someone has earlier suggested, inugo.
Insightful.

Is there any scientific reason why I have diarrhoea "purging" each time I eat Nkwobi, Isi ewu or Abacha?

Is it the potash or pepper?
From the Nigerian recipe cook book I read a few months back, Nkwobi and the Isi ewu (Goat head delicacy) are made of exactly the same ingredients, but the difference is that Nkwobi is made up of cow legs, while the Isi Ewu is made of boiled goat head with the goat's brain mixed in the dish. I would NEVER eat that yuck called Isi iwu with the brains tbh, but would surely like to taste Nkwobi and Abacha for the first time ever in 2024.
