You are truly insane and morally bankrupt tbh!

That transcript error was indeed a typographic or clerical error. I have read of many errors [such as ages, dates of birth, genders, names, etc] made by the NIMC on peoples' official documents in Nigeria and around the world.

"Thubv" too was an error in printing just like the name of another

Tinubu's picture and his on it.

You've said it all... As a veteran member of this forum from inception, I can confirm that NL has lost the standards from back in the 2000s. Can't folks from around the world just have peace of mind on this NL website and threads again?!

Seun Osewa has completely failed in sanitizing this website as promised this year! His newest moderator deliberately keeps pushing to the front page the NL threads of 5 well-known ethnic bigots and others who relentlessly use curse words, incitements, hate speech and criminally defamatory posts, without punishing them for toxic cyber bullying and constantly violating rules 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 19. There's massive online evidence for this.

It is time for the national intelligence agencies to step in and ensure they get all the administrators of these online platforms to take responsibility for encouraging hate speech, fake news, and outright defamation by these bigots.

Politics › Re: Passports: Nigerians Applaud Interior Minister For 60,000 Applicants Clearance by XAUBulls: 8:26pm On Sep 14, 2023
TheRareGem1:
The Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has said that a backlog of almost 60,000 passports has been cleared in four working days.
“As of this morning, I can tell you that about 60,000 passport backlogs have been cleared, specifically 59,906.

“On Wednesday, September 6, 2023, when I gave the 2-week ultimatum, we had over 200,000 backlogs.

“We have recorded progress, and I maintain my word that those backlogs must be cleared.

Nigerians have taken to different social media platforms to shower praise on the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for not only not making the promise but also fulfilling it.

One of the prominent Instagram blogs, Instablog, posted the development, and the comments section is full of hope, praise, and happiness.

Reacting to the new development, Violet Queenmother said, “So they can work like this when ordinary renewal of my passport takes 6 months. They know how to work; they just decide to make life difficult for us,” she concluded.

Similarly, ayinke.ade noted, “as it should be. Not those unnecessary bottlenecks.”

For benorac7, “We know the right thing to do; we just need people who are ready to do the work to be in those key positions, and everything will work out fine in Nigeria. I salute the effort of the Minister of Interior.

Ekitiketan noted, “This is a great development. The kind of leadership we need right now”

Mona_lisa_perry recalled when the minister gave the pledge to clear the backlog last week, “Indeed! Not business as usual. Just last week, the minister made the pledge about clearing the backlogs; now, 60,000 applications have been cleared by NIS. It is good that he is keeping them on their toes. Nigerians, there is hope for a great Nigeria. He concluded.

While ennyzee says, “we can actually work to make things work here, especially when there is political will and determination,”

Olatunde Charles pointed out that “it means those immigration people had just been very lazy or intentionally delayed the processing to cause scarcity”.

_faiad questioned, “How are they able to clear 60,000 booklets in four days? But they always told us there were no booklets and that they would only be issuing passports to the highest bidders. See how we punish ourselves and blame the government?”

nichecarver12 noted that “what has been dragging Nigeria behind have been sabotage actions. Now that a minister knows his job, anybody who is going to be a saboteur has been told to either sit up or move out. It’s as simple as that. Most of these bottlenecks are caused by people in the NIS offices intentionally delaying the procedure so that they can have the avenue to make huge amounts of extra money from Nigerians.”

“Imagine what is daily ringing in the imagination of staff ears: ‘Either you work or give us space. No more public holidays for passport officers.” Calebmgbah wrote.

Famo_cares asserts that, “With this achievement, I hope Nigerians understand that it is we Nigerians that are Nigeria’s problem. I am sure all the staff at the NIS, comprising all tribes and religions, including the President and the governors we hate so much, have relatives in the civil service, and if they do, they are all Nigerians. Yet the same civil servants are the same people sabotaging and extorting Nigerians from getting their passports, and we blame the government. Who is the government? Are the people working there aliens? Until Nigerians change their attitudes and become patriotic, we will never move forward. In the same vein, leadership also matters a lot. Now that it is obvious that former minister Rauf Aregbesola was an abysmal failure in the office that he couldn’t achieve for eight (cool years, another minister has done it in less than two weeks of taking the same office.

I urge the minister to keep an eye on the staff at the NIS; those who are not ready to work should be kicked out, and passionate Nigerians should be engaged. God bless Nigeria, he prayed.

"With this guy in charge, I won’t have to wait for six months to renew my passport.” Iam_maguire concluded.

i agree, I just wish Nigerians would stop seeing the US as our friends or saviours and stop licking their asses or masturbating to any news of western leaders embracing Nigeria. they are not doing it to help us. They effectively abandoned us ever since the shale revolution and they became self sufficient in oil production. that should teach us a lesson.

Nigerians need to understand these guys do not want our progress. They dont want the progress of anyone but themselves.

2 good examples

1. The EPl has suceeded by destroying football leagues all over the world particularly Africa who shares the same time zone. As soon as the Saudi league auches an attempt to grow their own league they cry foul but theyve been stealing other countries best players and viewers for the last 2 or 3 decades.

2. USA had no problem with China when China was a country to subcontarct labour for cheap products and their homemade products were inferior quality. Now that the Chinese are competing with them for car, semi conductors, planes lithium batteries etc, they are crying foul and want to sanction or hit anything Chinese with tarrifs. Same thing with germany, only today they announced they have a problem with the flood of chinese EV that will soon start flooding the German and EU market...when they were flooding china with German and European cars they had no problem.

Point is contrary to the slave mindset of many Nigerian western larkeys, they dont want our progress and they will do anything to keep us depending on them, it is not in their interests for us to be self sufficient talk less developed and industrialised. I just wish the average Nigerian would start thinking in terms of what is best fior Nigeria instead of thinking the slave masters have any benefit or interest in helping him.
Well said! You have strong points here about the shale oil and more.

Family › Re: Over 25% Of Tested Men In Nigeria Aren’t Biological Fathers – DNA Report by XAUBulls: 2:41pm On Sep 14, 2023
Ofunaofu:
Smart DNA, a leading DNA testing center based in Lagos, Nigeria, has released a comprehensive data analysis of all relationship DNA tests conducted at its facility between July 1, 2022, and June 30, 2023.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that DNA is Deoxyribonucleic acid; it is the material that carries genetic information for the development and functioning of an organism.

A DNA test (genetic testing) is a medical test that can identify mutations in one’s genes, chromosomes or proteins.

These tests provide information about an individual’s ancestral roots.

A DNA relationship test is the use of genetic profiles to determine whether an individual is the biological parent of another individual.

The Smart DNA report, based on thousands of users, provides an unprecedented insight into the DNA testing trends across Nigeria.

Released on Tuesday, it showed startling findings about the reasons people seek testing, the demographics of those tested, and the outcomes of the tests.

Nevertheless, it showed positive results which indicated that the men who came out positive as the biological fathers of the children who they queried their paternity, accounted for 73.88 per cent of tests.

Negative results were 26.12 per cent of those who were tested.

On geographical spread, the report showed that Lagos accounted for the highest percentage of tests, with 82.89 per cent of the total.

This is followed by Oyo (3.29 per cent), Ogun (3.07 per cent) and FCT (2.63 per cent and Rivers (2.41 per cent).

“This heavy concentration in Lagos, particularly the Mainland (68.14 percent) compared to the Island (31.86 per cent), is likely due to the location of Smart DNA’s office in Lagos.

“Also likely due to the purchasing power of the state’s residents, and the high population density of the state,’’ it said.

The report showed that the majority of tests (89.10 per cent) were conducted for ‘Peace of Mind’, followed by ‘Immigration’ (8.97 per cent), and ‘Legal’ (0.64 per cent).

“This suggests that individuals primarily seek DNA testing to confirm biological relationships for personal reasons rather than legal or immigration purposes.’’

It showed that men were the predominant initiators of contact, making up 86.44 per cent of the first contacts, compared to 13.56 per cent made by women.

“This indicates that men are more likely to have doubts about paternity or other relationships and take the initiative to seek testing,’’ it said.

“Positive results indicating that the man tested is the biological father of the child, accounted for 73.88 per cent of tests, while negative results made up 26.12 per cent.

“This suggests that in the majority of cases, the men seeking testing are indeed the biological fathers, but in more than 1 in 4 cases, the tested father is not the biological father of the child’’.

On Ethnic Group, the Yoruba ethnic group had the highest percentage of tests (61.23 per cent), followed by Igbo (19.07 per cent).

“Others (12.08 per cent), and Edo (6.78 per cent). This may be reflective of the ethnic distribution in Lagos and the surrounding areas’’.

On the sex of the child, more tests were conducted on male children (56.62 per cent) compared to female children (43.38 per cent).

It said that this may suggest a cultural preference for confirming paternity of male offspring, although further research would be needed to confirm this hypothesis.

Analysing the age range of those tested, it said that most tests were conducted on children aged 0-5 years (58.02 per cent), followed by the 6-12 age group (25.95 per cent).

“This indicates that paternity tests are mostly done on children when they are younger rather than when they get older’.

The Smart DNA findings said that the men who opted for these DNA tests were mostly between the ages of 31-40 years (40 per cent) and 41-50 years (23 per cent).

“ This age group is likely to have young children and may be in a financial position to afford the testing’’.

Officials of Smart DNA said the centre is committed to providing fully accredited DNA testing services to clients in accordance with the highest international standards.

According to them, the report aims to shed light on the current trends in relationship DNA testing in Nigeria, contributing to a better understanding of this important aspect of our society. (NAN)

In Nigeria, if you want to win the heart of even revered Pastors, Imams, intellectuals, Professors, artisans, the poor, the rich, the crooks, just make sure you form the habit of dolling out money to people with ease. Give every Nigerian person you come across money, when they have financial issues, give them enough money so long as you have it and you know what? Even if you kill somebody, Nigerians will defend you and say that the person you killed was already dead before you killed him or her.

This is what Bola Ahmed Tinubu did to Yorubas and many Nigerians. Tinubu used all his ill gotten wealth and Lagos state treasury he captured and stole to buy every buyable person in Yoruba land and in far away North and made them all shut up even when they know he is a criminal. It is well oh.

Family › Re: Tips For Nigerian Guys Married To African Americans by XAUBulls: 10:42pm On Sep 13, 2023
Professor822714:
So as promised here we go:
1.Differences in culture: in marriage at least from my experience, they would want you to take them out for dinner, beach, sight seeing after marriage o! So don't expect to fashi those things after dating. Dressing is also a factor, if you guys are going out especially to naija function, you need to school her on greeting ( formal rather than informal) for elders- no mummy hi tinz! Also if you guys are expecting kids, you need to be firm in standing for your values in terms of naming the child and whatever things you want done in that regard.
2. Differences in family values: As a naija guy, you need to bring your strong family values to create an atmosphere of order. A sizeable number of AA ladies didn't grow up with a father figure ( lemme speak for my case only sha), so being able to get that strong male figure in the house is something they value a lot. Some had runaway dads and abusive uncles, so there might be a lot to unpack and you could sometimes feel like a therapist. Cooking is a big issue- so for us Nigerians- there's foods from west, east, north, south-south, middle belt, etc. For them, it appears it's just soul food and fast food (I may be wrong). So if you're waiting for that pounded yam and egusi, broda wa gbo bi Galilee because it's not gonna happen. Some might take the initiative to learn some naija meals but be prepared for some coaching in the kitchen to explain the consistency of iyan vs mashed potatoes.
Finally, insist on repect! Their culture has lost a lot of respect for elders, women and even sacred things. Put your foot down as the head of the home and earn, maintain and uphold your respect by being a man- no cheating, gimmicks and funny games. Be open and honest always and support her in everything.
3. Differences in relationships with the opposite sex: If you're the type that has naija besties, I have bad news for you-it won't work cos the word on the street is every African man has a wife back home, so that bestie falls bang into that category and you either have to hide the friendship or get rid of it otherwise there will be noise.
4. Differences in hygienic standards: This is a tough one. Basically, as an African guy cleaning up the house is a daily affair, however depending on who you've got, that might be a tall order. Some people believe in showers certain number of times a week. I'll leave that there for now....
5. Differences in spousal roles: You will face the 304 giant and God help you here. In my opinion decide on the bills early on. Don't allow her to make you think cos you're am immigrant and maybe working a mid level job, it's ok she pays the bills, NO. Insist on paying a significant amount even if it's hard cos on the day there is yawa- she will finish you on this one! If it's a rental property, decide on the % to pay. If it's a mortgage same too. On the other hand you could foot the utilities while she pays the Mortgage.
6. Differences in settling masters/issues: Wisdom.is key in this one. AA"s believe in noise ( remember Davido's case). So guard your family people especially the close ones cos when her noise gets to them it will appear like you broke bottle on her head- meanwhile it was just a plate you broke in the kitchen! In this area it's very annoying and you need to understand that the way they handle their matters is very different from us naijas. The noise they will make over a small matter is amazing!
I know there's a lot I can still add, plus others will still add theirs too, hopefully.
Overall, there's no way to change people like we all know but there's ways to adapt to different cultures and situations and make something out of them.
Responses welcome !
True that.

The US is not in the business of helping anybody but themselves. Their interest in Nigeria is occasioned by the sudden realisation that China in particular is gaining influence in countries they had abandoned economically. Particularly since the exit of George Bush Jr, the USA's interest in Africa is primarily military, so called human rights and "sustaining democracy". The last US president to do anything significant to assist the growth of Africa economically was George Bush with the AGOA act.

America is only interested in Nigeria because they know if they dont act others will gain a foothold and if indeed Nigeria is on an upward trajectory, they cant afford to be left behind and lose influence to the likes of China.

its not about Nigeria to them it's about China and other rising economic powers.
