In my LG we have hundreds-thousands of pple who are married to pple frm different tribes in Nigeria but some of u will just wake up nd start posting assumptions. Keep wallowing in ur ignorance.
Indeed.

The famous movie producer Kemi Adetiba has a Yoruba father from Ekiti State who is a veteran broadcaster, and her mother Mayen Adetiba is a trained Civil Engineer from Akwa Ibom State. Her mum speaks fluent Yoruba as well haven been born in Yorubaland according to a major news publication I read years back.

Another very handsome Yoruba-born actor who acts and speaks fluently in English and Yoruba movies has an Akwa Ibom wife (who was born in Lagos) who speaks fluent Yoruba and he also speaks some Ibibio learned from his wife.

So, it's NOT true that Akwa Ibom folks don't get married outside their ethnicity. But largely, most people worldwide like to marry from their own ethnicities based on the similarities they share to avoid cultural clashes.

Yet I went to uniuyo and all the girls I discussed about marriage were reluctant about marrying Igbo.

They said we are too loud and use our wives married from outside Igbo land for ritual, then marry our own tribes woman with money and enjoy.

They are also very reluctant to move into Igbo land to dwell and base.

The few Akwa Ibom women who married Igbo men, married Igbo men who dwell and base in Akwa Ibom full time, if you dare mention that you’ll be taking her back to the East, that marriage will not hold.
Interesting.

Romance › Re: Help!! My Fiance Always Makes Me Do Things In Bed That I Don't Enjoy. by XAUBulls: 1:08am On Nov 26, 2023
DaisyMellow:
Hi guys. I usually don't bring relationship issues to Nairaland, but this one is very serious as it concerns the man I am engaged to and scheduled to marry before the end of the year.

I have known him for a year and few months and we are in love. When we started having sex, it was all vanilla and although he was a bit rough; as in throwing me around and putting me in different positions, I was okay with it, and honestly, it was kinda exciting because some of those styles were new to me

However recently things have gotten really weird whenever we are having sex. He requests me to do certain stuff that honestly creeps me out. Sometimes he would tie my hands behind my back so tight and stuff the pillowcase in my mouth, then have his way with me. Sometimes he would blindfold me with my scarf and ask me to beg him to free me, while choking me with his two hands. There was even a time he got a knife and pretended to want to stab me and asked me to play along and act scared. Sometimes he would ask me to forge tears so he would watch me cry while we had sex.

It's gotten real bad that a week ago, I almost passed out when he was doing one of his weird choking sex-plays. In the past I have talked to him about how I didn't enjoy some of these things and how we should do it sparingly or not at all. He sounded like he understood, but after a few weeks he seemed bored and uninterested in normal sex, and begged me to go back to the rough stuff because that's the only thing he likes.

I know he loves me because he takes good care of me and is even friendly with my parents and siblings. But this extreme sex thing is really making me uncomfortable.

I can't imagine going through this sort of sex every day when we eventually get married and live under the same roof.

I need serious advice on the next steps to take.
Damn! I would have said the novelty of both of you having sex is what is trippin' him, but when you brought up his tying your hands before doing sex styles you don't want and his use of the knife during sex, then you have a rapist or potential rapist as your boyfriend and he's using YOU like a slut to practice forceful rape scenarios or sequences! It will continue when you get married unless you draw the line and let him know you feel VIOLATED. Period.

Take this from an OG.

Back to your initial question, I would say that watching softcore and hardcore porn are not my preferences tbh. I have a couple of Kama-based sexuality style books in my personal home library which I acquired years back though.

But then, it must be emphasized here that the human mind is capable of generating OR replaying soft and hardcore x-rated images. Did you know that? So, the human mind is the biggest, natural x-rated video generator on earth. "All objections overuled!"Ne?

Can people just respect the cooking styles of other nationals and cultures and NOT be so condescending with the so-called jollof wars between Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal (The jollof country of origin), Gambia, etc.

Some unnessarily arrogant people from Nigeria are notorious for displaying this relentless and classless social blunder online and offline. Yes, Nigerian party Jollof rice tastes awesome but why keep irritatingly stressing it to the point where these folks sound like BROKEN RECORDS... Let other countries' nationals do the publicity for Nigerian jollof instead and stop bragging. That's how to show CLASS and style!

The former beauty queen on Friday raised the alarm that her life and that of her family members were in danger.

She alleged that Israel invaded her mother’s shop with hoodlums to harass her mum.

She made the allegations while reacting to Israel DMW’s claims that she and her family, especially her mum defrauded him and that she left their marriage as soon as she became famous.

Sheila said contrary to Israel’s claim that she and her family are “gold diggers,” she is from a well-to-do family, stressing that her dad and former Edo State governor, Adams Oshiomole are “first cousins.”

She wrote via her Instagram story,

DAILY POST recalls that Israel and Sheila tied the knot on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at a traditional ceremony that was held in Benin City.

Marrying a lady because you met her during evangelism as a virgin, a pastors daughter, a member of ur same winners chapel church, might not guarantee anything peace at all.

Dnt be too eager or quick to trust people. People can change at anytime. People can be very ungrateful and deceptive.

| met Sheila February 19, 2022. We became friends which later became intimate.

She told me she would only loose her virginity to the man that would marry her, since her Ugep,Cross River, mother, who’s now 41, who had earlier married 2 different men, with 2 kids, before marrying her father and that she was over due at 21 for marriage.

We fully agreed with her terms and conditions. | immediately began a full upgrade of her unkept situation by firstly giving her 300k and also replacing her tattered phone of less than 60k to a brand new iphone 12 Pro Max of 860k in less than 2 weeks.

I later also replaced the 12 Pro Max to a brand 14 Pro Max of 1.2m that she’s currently using to slay. I did a alot of shoppings for her.

Bought her clothes and bags incuding expensive human hairs she’s using without sleeping with her then. I later proposed and she fully accepted. We later did a Legally introdution, traditional and white weddings in benin city.

Sheila immediately changed by showing her real self after our wedding by wanting to set standards for me because she now felt she was blown as juju wife, fully verified on Instagram, with more followers from her earlier struggling 3k followers when i met her.

A fully sapa girl i met with just 2,700 in her account.

I have never raised my hands on her any day. I dnt beat women at all. I respect them so much. The least money for her upkeep was 100k.

She now wakes up to tell me that i derive dignity in begging my oga, and that i am fully a slave and that am disgracing her on social media.

had earlier taking her to show same oga for the first time before we wedded, when we were in Abuja Transcorp Hilton, and oga asked her straight forward if she was ready for marriage, and she fully answered by saying yes and oga immediately gave her 500k for airtime.

Oga was fully present in benin for my wedding, after cancelling a 140m show appearance. Oga..
She's still in the ho phase at 22 years (she was 21 in 2022 according to the post). Period.

Second, the young man was too eager to buy her very expensive things. You should always let a young woman or a woman of any age earn your trust and NOT place her on a pedestal by buying the most expensive i-Phones and other stuff for her at such a short notice.

Last but not least, he didn't have to curse any other man who wants to go into an affair or marriage in the future with his so-called ex-wife. Just cut your losses and run. He has to work on his inner game and he'll find another woman who has more value to be his next wife if he still wants to go that route.

Education is too important to be dismissed as overrated
Indeed. Everything in life is all about education. Whether formal or informal education.
Celebrities › Re: Portable In London For His Tour After UK Embassy Denied His Wife Visa by XAUBulls: 4:53pm On Nov 25, 2023
Lawal1555:
The notion that education is overrated is often rooted in frustration with the perceived shortcomings of traditional educational systems. However, it is crucial to acknowledge the immense value that education, in its diverse forms, holds for personal and societal development.

While there exist instances where individuals have achieved success without formal education, these cases are often exceptions rather than the norm. Education provides a foundational framework of knowledge, skills, and critical thinking abilities that are essential for navigating the complexities of the modern world. It unlocks doors to opportunities for personal growth, professional advancement, and societal progress.

If education were truly overrated, we would witness a world plagued by illiteracy, ignorance, and a lack of innovation. Instead, we observe that education has played a pivotal role in the advancement of civilizations, scientific breakthroughs, and the pursuit of human potential.

While there are undoubtedly aspects of traditional education that require improvement, it remains an invaluable tool for empowering individuals and transforming societies. To dismiss education as overrated is to overlook its profound impact on human progress and the shaping of a brighter future.

Instead of undervaluing education, let's dedicate our efforts to enhancing its effectiveness, ensuring its accessibility, and adapting it to meet the evolving needs of the 21st century. Education, while not a guarantee of success, serves as an indispensable tool for navigating the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

Stop giving false hope to the coming generations.
@Lawal1555,
Nicely put.

However, the dude (@onadana) you quoted simply wanted to state at the very beginning of his post that Uni education is only a means to an END but NOT an END in itself. That's a fact because in addition to furthering your education after highschool to college (or Uni), you have to develop other skills that would enhance you staying power or productivity in life.

The legendary American author and entrepreneur, Jim Rohn stated in one of his books that ALL humans have more than 500 skills that we are imbued with and these skills can be developed for monetization.

Public speaking, developing ones singing and music skills, developing multiple skills in art and computer-aided designs, etc, are some of the ways of solving problems for a large number of people in exchange for profit, giving back to society, and gaining influence.
Travel › Re: Nigerian Woman Begging On The Streets Of Canada. Photos by XAUBulls: 4:07pm On Nov 25, 2023
AfroCarib:
Hi everyone. Hope everyone is doing good. I want to say first of all that I am Caribbean and I am deeply saddened for the Nigerian woman in question because it clearly shows that the white man hates black people and most especially Africans. He was bang out of order to assume that the woman is a scammer because he even called her a scammer just because she's African/black. He had the audacity to come to Canada with his typical white over-privileged American racist attitude towards black people.

I also want to clarify to everyone that the man is not Caribbean but is a white man, caucasian who immigrated here in Canada in recent times from America. I cannot understand why anyone would assume that he is Caribbean just because they cannot understand his accent which isn't right because that leads to animosity towards a group of people that have nothing to do with the whole thing to begin with. People need to be careful with accusations like that.

Just to let you all know I have spoken to many Caribbean people about this woman in question being disgraced by this white man and we the Caribbean people are outraged about what that white man did to this Nigerian lady. We are very angry about it because she did not deserve that disgrace whether she is Nigerian, Cameroonian, Senegalese, Trinidadian, Barbadian ,Jamaican or simply a black Canadian. At the end of the day we are all descendants of Africa and many of our Caribbean ancestry came from Nigeria (Calabar, Yoruba, Igbo) and that upsets us all the more to see that this Nigerian woman went through this disgrace. She is our sister, it could have happened to anyone of us. Racism is something that black people face a lot living abroad so in no way should we be in support of racism done against one of our own. Secondly we the Caribbean people are very upset about the fact that some Nigerians say it was good for her that the white man disgraced her along with other nasty comments against her Such a Shame!!

Remember he didn't disgrace her because she was in need and was begging. He disgraced her for being black. I advise all of you who are disgracing your own fellow Nigerian/ black to go back and listen to the video again because at the very beginning he said this black b****. and at the beginning of the video when he's fidgeting with his phone you can see a bit of his arm and also clearly see that he is a white man. Also you can clearly hear his accent is that of a village American. Like those who live in trailers and in trailer parks in America. He himself is very lucky to be in Canada yet he's talkin trash. also is it normal to you guys that a Caribbean person who is also black would call this woman a black b****huh? It's no wonder why other races think that all black people are crazy because we give them that impression by the way we treat our own. (SMH)

It is so disgraceful to see our own black people especially the Nigerians helping this man who clearly hates you and your people further disgrace your own. (SMH) Big shame! Disgrace!

Even though the woman was begging she is still a human being and demonstrated a humbleness that another person might not have had while being insulted.

The woman said that she went to University and that she has a 14 year old son yet still she's being judged so harshly by her fellow Nigerians instead of understanding that she is in need of help and that is very disappointing and disgusting. Did she kill somebody, steal, do 419 or commit a crime or is she simply just reaching out for help? How about putting aside the Nigerian pride for a moment and ask what can I do to find this woman and help her out in whatever capacity I can.

Many of us will call ourselves Christians and then be all too quick to bash someone who's having problems as if we don't have problems ourselves from time to time. Jesus says those of you who have never sinned cast the first stone. Who are we to judge this woman?.

I am disappointed to see how many Nigerians are in agreement with a racist white man tearing down a Nigerian. This goes to show why black people have so much work to do to be united. It is things like this kind of behavior and reaction that makes white people know all the more that black people are stupid and can never get it together. What a big shame on our people. Bashing one of our own. That is where the disgrace really truly lies and not in this Nigerian woman being a Nigerian begging. After all if she didn't reach out to try and collect funds but died of starvation (as an example) many of you would have said why didn't she talk up, why didn't she ask for help?

Please stop bashing the woman and let's all be united to try and help our black brothers and sisters to progress in life instead of tearing them down and passing the videos all over the Internet to bash them the more because that in itself is a disgrace. That is not normal behavior at all but stupidity.

On a last note I want to just let you all know for those of you who do not live in Canada. I don't know who told you that Canada has trees where we pluck money from. It is not easy to live in Canada because there's racism, there are constantly bills coming left, right and center. Constantly things to pay and it is harder to save money in this country. Whatever the government gives you for your children on a monthly basis is never enough. You have to work a lot just to make ends meet and most people in Canada are living from paycheck to paycheck. Some have to work three jobs to make ends meet. Shocking truth but they won't tell you that when you ask for away baffs because it's nobody's business and also for some people it is due to shame of admitting that it is not easier to live in Canada, USA and the UK as people think. You get nothing for free here, no handouts and you get taxed very hard. As an example let's say you got paid 1300 every two weeks but then they take 400 out for taxes., $50 out for dental and medical family insurance and $40 for pension then you're left with $810 but you still have bills to pay such as your electric bill especially for heating in the winter, cell phone bill, water tax, gas or bus pass, moto insurance, internet bill, food and toiletries, children school fees, and if you live in America medical bills then at the end of paying all these things whether you are in the UK, Canada or in America you're left with zilch most times and that is why most people are living from paycheck to paycheck in Canada, America and the UK and that is why a lot of people work two or three jobs abroad and that is also why a lot of times when we're constantly begged for things to be sent back home, it is hard for us but people back home are quick to judge us and to be angry because we couldn't send certain things at the time that they wanted.

When you don't understand life abroad it is too quick to judge those suffering over here. Time to be educated.
Very succinct.

She also claimed to have finished from York University in Toronto, Canada and even got a job which has ended.

She also revealed that the Canadian government pays her but the money is small as she has to pay for her rent, take care of her son and that things have been difficult for them.

When she was asked why she can't have a good life in Nigeria, the woman said the economy is bad and that the leaders are corrupt.

The other part of Sweden that any new visitor might find challenging is that, the Swedish economy runs a contactless or cashless economy. So if you have been so used to paper money, your first two nights might be a bit challenging. I came with some USD, but to make some payments, i have to depend on the good will of a friend to make payments for me while i give him cash to deposit on his account.

For visitors who are only making a couple of journeys a day by public transport, the easiest way to pay is by contactless debit or credit card, which must be backed by Mastercard, Visa or American Express.

You can also use digital wallets such as Samsung Pay, Google Pay, Apple Pay and Fidesmo Pay.

The vast majority of stations on the tunnelbana (Subways) have automated barriers, while buses, boats and trams have a reader that you need to hold your card over as you climb aboard.

No one cheats anyone!
True that.

Things I found out in Sweden.

• I paid commission to exchange my US dollars to Swedish krone! Foreign currency is actually not craved for here like we do in Africa

• Everyone is helpful, nice & kind. Can give up their food for you. Their social welfare system is the best in the world.

• It's a totally cashless economy here. Yes, you actually dont need a paper money. Everything is digitalized including buying anything!

• Everyone works. The bills are crazy so any krones is needed. The Swedes are naturally, big, brawny, smart and strong. So working hard is never a problem.

* Work resumes by 10 am here due to weather changes. I mean formal jobs, not non skilled jobs.

• During summer, the sun doesn't go down. Meaning, there's no night. You can get sick due to body adopting these time changes. My first night i Stockholm, i slept around 1am without knowing its that late.

• Its really stable here. Count your self lucky like me if you have access to Sweden, it takes a lot to get their papers! Their paper can straighten out some shits in your life. I am a testimony.

• Stockholm is an idea City to raise up a child as everything is cool, lovely and good! World class primary & secondary schooling FREE.

• Crime rate is really low. Yahoo, fraud or other social vices can not work here. You will be caught easily as there are traits to everything you do

• Swedes are normally thieves, they are the original Vikings or sea faring thieves of past, so to curb that natural trait to steal, the government has done a lot to ensure everything can be tranced, this gave rise to a cashless, contactless economy that has proved to very efficient! In order words, it has made the Swedes to be law abiding because off what use is it to steal when you know you will be caught? Well, their prison is better than most average homes in Africa!

• Transportation is relatively fixed. For 3.9$ (39SEK) you can get a ride on the bullet train to anywhere in Stockholm for 75minutes. No other fee applies.

• Beside Rent, food, anyone can survive in Stockholm without much of a deal! With a Salary of $3000 per month, you'd live like a king! Especially if you work remotely!

• You don't really need public transport/a car to move around city, except you are hopping from one island to another. A scooter or bicycle would be more helpful!

• Swedes are Innovative, they have customized bicycles to various roles in the house, or work.

• I prefer living in Stockholm than anywhere in USA or Canada.

• The gap between rich and poor is low compared to France or UK. Here the richest man might be that fellow riding an electric scooter, or drinking low beer with you in the pub.

• Most houses in Stockholm do not have physical keys... They use codes type into the door to open. So if you have no business there, you gat no reason

• Almost everyone drives a bicycle, or scooter to move from one place to another.

• Sweden is really expensive to live in, but has one of the highest quality of life you can imagine.

• Everyone drink tap water. It's squeaky clean & safe. pH value is almost 7.0 on the dot!

• I met several Nigerians, most of them left Italy to reside here. They're always preferred before other African nationalities.

• Nigerians here, as in Kigali keep the law.
Nice thread.

Getting an expired Nigerian passport renewed is a hassle especially in Nigerian Embassies in foreign countries. This has left too many Nigerians in Diaspora with expired Nigerian Passport.

I'm aware of an an existing law that prohibits the prevention of a Nigerian citizen from entry simply because he/she has an expired Passport. Once the airline drops you in Nigeria, nobody, i repeat, no nobody can send you back as long as you are a Nigerian. Infact I know a lot of Nigerians with dual citizenship who has traveled to Nigeria and back with their valid Foreign Passport and an expired Nigerian Passport.

However I'm told that certain airlines might have their own policy regarding the use of expired passport. This thread is for people who have traveled with expired Nigerian Passport to share their experience.

Please tell us the airline you used and the country you flew in from. Tell us which airport you used and the difficulties or ease you experienced throughout the flight.

This information might be invaluable to people who intend traveling back to Nigeria during this yuletide season.

The recipe happened by accident.
I stored flour and some yaji spice in one airtight container, by the time I was ready to use the flour, it had absorbed the aroma of the yaji .
I used it to make puff-puff, it smell and tasted really really nice, and so I thought "the next time I'm going to make puff-puff, I'll deliberately add yaji spice to it.
Surprisingly, the flour that absorbed the yaji had a more intense flavour than the one I added yaji to.
Maybe 'cause I was being too careful not to add to much to make it overpowering.

I came up with a new puff-puff recipe, then I made it and it was a YaY!
I call it Yaji-puffs tongue

I went easy on the sugar to make it more savoury than sweet, and the flavour of the yaji was on point.
Bump.
