Klass99:
I honestly think one of the ways to achieve some of your dreams is to permanently end child birth. As in, do not have anymore children! My father had 7 kids and in one conversation he said two children are more than enough in this present age, because children are going to be more difficult to manage and our economy keeps deteriorating. Grasp some worldy wisdom from an old man who has lived 7 decades on God's earth.

I know you said this but think about making it permanent. You already have 5 kids as far as I am concerned, there is you, wifey, your sister and two kids. Consider yourself a child who also needs to be taken care of as well (mostly by you and wifey sha).

You still need to buy good shoes, underwears and shirts for yourself, visit the hospital when sick, get a haircut, eat shawarma or suya, etc. So, don't over do it with a large sized family. Think quality over quantity, the fewer the better!

I don't know how old your sister is but if she's old enough to find a legitimate income source with your help or by herself, that will take a load off you and free up some disposable income for you. Try to get her self sufficient and financially independent so she is not a life long responsibility of yours.

Keep trying and doing your best, the good book talks about time and chance, perhaps it is not your time and chance to blow yet, but that shouldn't stop you from dreaming and working towards it. Saka, the Etisalat/9mobile ambassador talked about finding success at a later age in life, let that encourage you while you also take the time to enjoy the good things you have now.
Nicely put.

Good day Nairalanders
I will be 40 on Oct 19 this year and I am scared the kind of life I have always desired may not be
achievable. Let me list these things that worries me so that you can probably advise me or assist me in achieving any of them.
1) By 40 I had wished I will be living in my house with cars in my garage
Current situation- I am a salary earner who eagerly waits for the salary to drop before my family can eat conveniently every month.
2)I love cars and driving. Was thinking of getting a good car for Uber business.
Current situation- I have not been able to gather enough money to buy a car for Uber or personal use.
3)Seeking greener pasture abroad.
Current situation- I have not been able to have enough disposable income to even get a passport to start with in the first place.
4)Self development. I had interest in programming so I decided to learn coding and all that. I started with free code camp and also this thread by iyenimofe on nairaland has been so helpful https://www.nairaland.com/1383359/learn-web-design-live-nairaland/6#17571611
The issue I have progressing is that of enough data subscription to watch more tutorials.
5)Acquisition of at least Masters.
I have a passion for learning and self development but I struggled to have my HND with distinction. Gathering enough funds to start my masters program has been an uphill task.

Little about my background
I am an HND graduate
I have a sister who am responsible for also.
I have a wife and two kids.
I work 8-5weekdays
I'm older than you are and have experience to share. So first off...

Count your blessings because you have a young wife and two kids already!

Develop a laser-targeted focus in life by NOT doing too many things at the same time. Focus is the keyword here.

Second, read a good book on the power of the "Law of Attraction" which you may be able to even download for free as a PDF ebook online. It will help you to attract what you want in a logical and unselfish sequence. Look for local and global problems and solve them, then get paid millions of USD for solving them.

Last but not least, beware... Do
NOT abuse, get angry at or get envious of rich or wealthy people because negative thought energy will never make YOU wealthy. This is the reason why many young and old folks are still mentally and physically poor or down the economic ladder! These are the primary building blocks of the law of attraction and wealth creation. Period.

Hope this helps.
Family › Re: My Experience As A Married Woman Being Best Friends With A Married Man by XAUBulls: 1:59pm On Apr 29, 2023
chioma134:
This post was triggered by an earlier post I saw where the poster was having long talks with his friend's wife. I've been in a similar situation. I changed location and had to be separate from my family due to work. I was lonely and needed a friend. I talk with my husband regularly, but his interests are not my interests, so I find that besides household and family matters, we have little else to talk about. I found myself talking to this guy I met when I went for an official assignment. We started as friends, but we became attracted to each other. So when I travelled back to base, we started these long conversations. We're both born-again Christians and both married, so we kept to certain boundaries. I enjoyed conversing with him more than with my spouse. I became consumed with thoughts of him. He also expressed his desire and attraction towards me, but we laughed over it as jokes.

My husband noticed the conversations when I travelled home and became suspicious. He forbade me from speaking with him. He had never seen me have long talks with any friend, talkless of a male one. I informed my friend and he said no problem, he would wait till I travelled back to work base before he would continue. He later travelled to meet his family and conversation became scanty. I realized how much I was addicted to him when I couldn't talk to him as much as I wanted. He returned to base and we continued like before.

I started praying for God to help me overcome these desires. Maybe he also felt the same, because for some reasons I don't know, he reduced the frequency of calls and chats drastically. I didn't try to find out why, just thought the time-off would help me clear out immoral thoughts. But I got hurt when he acted indifferent on one occasion when I felt he should have shown more care. I asked him about it and he pretended not to understand what I was talking about. I read the writing on the wall, and decided to play along. So I said "bye. It was nice meeting you." Part of me was grateful it ended, another part was wishing I could still be with him. I love my husband and children, I cannot come and scatter my home.

He thought I was joking. I was no longer responding to his chats, and when I did, only with monosyllables. He became hurt and accused me of going silent on him. I told him he started it. He wanted me to become defensive, but the Holy Spirit whispered "keep quiet ". So I allowed him rant without saying anything. I thank God I didn't, because I would have exposed how deep my true feelings for him were.

Right now, he chats once in a while, just general "how are you". I say "fine". My feelings have healed and I thank God we didn't continue because I wouldn't have been able to stop myself from an affair if we had eventually had any physical contact. I can categorically say I'm no longer in love with him.

I penned these down for those struggling with similar situations. Just cut off the relationship. Stop conversation, chatting, or physical contact. Then pray for God to help you overcome those lusty feelings.
Bump. Insights.

We live in a world of cause and effect, so these scenarios are not strange. Real world decisions are made based on our thoughts, feelings, and actions. Lessons are learned from good, neutral, and bad situations to refine us. Period.

In the first photos, the man is seen looking ripped. In the second, his six packs was gone and has been replaced by a tummy pouch.

Twitter users reacted, telling her that her husband looked better before than now.

The woman responded, telling them that he is now more focused on taking care of his family than spending time at the gym.

Absolute waste of resources. The south west has lost its industrial relevance and momentum spearheaded by Chief Obafemi Awolowo. Most of their industries are dead. They should use half of that funds to propel their economies. You need to visit the Chambers to be able to know the severity of these problems. It is the south east and northern businessmen that are controlling the industrial base of the south west. So the government should show genuine concern to resuscitate and develop the agro allied and manufacturing sector instead. Most of the current programmes are too political, hence not genuine. They deploy them to benefit cronies and not genuine business promoters.
The Ikeja GRA and Ikeja Industrial Estate were founded by Obafemi Awolowo, GCFR, SAN, and Ikeja Industrial Estate was the main manufacturing and export hub of the Old Western Region, before Lagos State was created on May 27, 1967. This is why when Ikeja and other Awori and Ijebu towns (Ikorodu, Epe, Ibeju-Lekki, Ajah are parts of the larger Ijebuland which extends right into Ogun State from Lagos State) were carved out to create the new Lagos State (12 new states including Lagos State were created for the indigenes by General Yakubu Gowon), the Western State protested the carving out of Ikeja, Ilupeju, Orile Iganmu, Mushin, etc, which had industrial estate hubs all founded by Chief Obafemi Awolowo in the
Old Western Region.

The iconic Odua Group and the Lagos State-owned IBILE Holdings which are investment vehicles must be put on hyper-steroids from here on out through more investments in innovative and disruptive technologies. Yaba is a hub for the tech space and more tech hubs are key for leapfroging into the New Economy.

Impressive.

The DAWN economic integration plan has been in existence for years now. This shows foresight on the part of the Yoruba intelligensia.
Kwara and Kogi must key into the economic integration plan being that Yorubas are indigenous to those states. This will also include the contiguous Ilajeland-Itsekiriland axis of Ondo and Delta States.

On a larger scale, there is a need for the Northern and Niger Delta States to do the same.

It's simple. You save a deposit, and you apply for the mortgage. If you are on a visa, the mortgage rate you will get might be higher than the norm. However, getting a good mortgage rate (i.e <3%) ultimately depends on your credit rating. The size of the deposit you need depends on the size of the mortgage you require, and this ultimately depends on what part of the UK you live. The cost of a small squashed box flat in London will buy a large 3 bedroom house with a garden up North.

It becomes boring because you have not found common interests.

To do this, both you and your wife need to write an individual list of things that are interesting, that fascinate and do not leave you indifferent.

Each list should be at least 20 items.
After that, read through the lists together. I assume that you will learn a lot about each other smiley
These lists can be turned into "Wish Lists." And when the wishes come true it can not be boring smiley
Just do not forget to specify and supplement them.

Boredom in married life - it is the norm, so almost everyone, and do not think that the grass is greener behind the fence - it's an illusion.

It is normal to feel that way early in marriage.

Just turn a blind eye and live each day as it comes. In the end, even the bachelor life go still tire you. Earlier you settle into marriage better for you potentially.

I’m married and still dealing with the challenges of carrying someone along in everything I do.

But I deeply prefer marriage than the directionless bachelor life. I wasted millions of naira living as a bachelor that would’ve been useful for me.

The best you can do is to send your family abroad since you’re okay financially that way you can get small space BUT not the space to chase women around as that will complicate your mental health further.

As for me, bachelor life can miss me for now and forever.

You can visit Aso Rock Villa, take tour to places like Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in Central Business District, Eagle Square where Nigerian presidents get sworn-in, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jabi Lake and many cool places like that. For Lagos, you should visit Lekki Peninsula, Ikoyi, Lagos House in Marina, Civic towers, Falomo and all those areas on the island.. you'll see third mainland bridge (longest bridge or so in West Africa) and my alma mater senate building standing tall and beautiful right there in Akoka. Soca and Calypso diva, go through travels and tour agencies and visit Accra, Ghana first to get familiar.

If you do visit Nigeria, go to Lagos, Calabar (hop on to Obudu Resort), Abuja, etc. Travel by air when moving interstate for speed and safety.

There is an association for foreign women who are married to Nigerian men called Naija Wives Association where you can get connected to Caribbean or Trinidad and Tobagoan women living in

There is a historical ancestral connection though between the Yorubas of Nigeria, and Tobago before the 1850s due to the deportations on slave schooners from West Africa. A few of them returned to Nigeria before and just after 1900 like the family of Oladele Moseley, a pre-1960s boxer.

The last fatal kangaroo attack in Australia was in 1936 when hunter William Cruickshank, 38, tried to rescue his two dogs from a fight with a kangaroo in Hillston in western New South Wales.

He suffered a broken jaw and extensive head injuries and later died in hospital.

The Great Southern region is home to the western grey kangaroo, which can grow to be about 70 kilograms and 97 to 223 centimetres from head to tail.

Wildlife expert Hayley Shute, the curator of the Australian Reptile Park in New South Wales's Central Coast, has revealed the warning signs a kangaroo is about to attack.

She said kangaroos will puff out their chests, lean back on their tails and do anything to 'make themselves look bigger' if they feel threatened.

'Male kangaroos will battle one another to be the alpha male,' she told Daily Mail Australia.

'Their bodies are built for kicking and fighting their nickname is the boxing kangaroo.

Family › Re: 6 Reasons Why Women Are More Likely To File For Divorce Than Men by XAUBulls: 7:22am On Apr 28, 2023
Bossjakande:
1. Most women no longer dream of being housewives; they want satisfying careers and marriages.

Since World War II, women are increasingly less satisfied with the institution of marriage and the stereotypes associated with them. In the 1950s, Madison Avenue portrayed wives vacuuming or doing other household chores in cocktail dresses and high heels; women were expected to be housewives, the primary caregiver for the children, and still look fantastic (and have dinner ready to serve) when they men arrived home from work.

When wives had to become working women while their husbands were overseas during World War II, they found they liked earning money and having lives outside their homes, and they were reluctant to return to being “just a housewife”. One needs only look to the 1960s and 1970s and the odyssey of the feminist movement to understand that women, like Baby, will not be put in the corner.

Decades after the Women’s Liberation movement, women still feel oppressed, marginalized, and undervalued – and as the recent Women’s Marches have shown, they are no longer willing to put up with the status quo.

2. Women look forward to true equality of the sexes, men look backward to the “Golden Age” of marriage.

Men generally try to find and marry the woman of their dreams – and then expect that she’ll never change from the day they got married. Men are comfortable in their roles as the “head of the house” while women are not particularly satisfied with being pigeon-holed as a wife who supports her husband’s career, the primary caregiver to their children, and the unpaid domestic help.

Women, on the other hand, look at their partner’s
potential . Women are more willing to marry someone who doesn’t check all of their boxes hoping that they can guide their men into perfection. Women become frustrated with men who resist change. Society, religion, and other cultural “norms” have oppressed women around the world for thousands of years, and women are becoming less and less inclined to go along with these regimes.

3. Women are less willing to accept unhappy relationships than men.
Generations of men have been trained to “man up” and stay in unhappy relationships – and perhaps to seek happiness outside their marriages to make their lives tolerable. Modern women, however, are more independent than most men think, and they’re unwilling to accept unhappy relationships month after month, year after year, with no hope of change.

Oftentimes men don’t even realize that they are in a failing relationship until their wives say “I want a divorce!” I have often heard male divorce clients state, “I thought everything was fine – I was blindsided by this divorce!”
In business, “successful” men are trained to focus on intellectual pursuits, to use logic to solve all their problems and to ignore their emotions. Ironically, it is this disconnect that often causes a marriage to fail – and for men think their marriage is “fine” while their wives are talking to divorce lawyers. By the time the divorce is filed, women are done trying to work on the relationship.

4. Men often believe they have more to lose in a divorce than women.
Many men hold the misconception that they will do poorly in court – the cards are stacked against them in terms of finances and child custody. Many men’s divorce groups are perpetuating this idea: taking one man’s terrible experience and making it seem like all men are treated badly in court.
The stereotypes of men as breadwinners and women as caregivers have changed, but men still believe that they have more to lose than women in a divorce. For that reason alone, men are reluctant to “go there.”

5. Women are quicker to consult a lawyer than men.
Quite frankly, there is an advantage to be the plaintiff in court, in the sense that you get to go first and argue last. I would much rather represent a plaintiff than a defendant. While there are often “races to the courthouse”, most women are quicker to consult a lawyer than men and are empowered to pull the plug.

6. Women are much more aware of the emotional health of their marriages than men.
If the marriage is a “traditional” one – with a stay-at-home mom and a breadwinner dad – women are going to pick up on any problems with the marriage and the children before a man would. Women notice that their husbands regularly go out for drinks after wor with their co-workers, or spend evenings and weekends entertaining clients for dinner or a round of golf.
Meanwhile, they may not have spent any quality time together as a couple – without the children – (think “date night”) in months or even years. If they are concerned for the wellbeing of their children, their maternal instincts will often take action quicker than those of their male counterparts.
It is my opinion that the same reasons that cause a marriage to fail motivates women more than men to seek a divorce. Lack of communication, lack of empathy, lack of feeling supported by your spouse, and lack of emotional growth generally distress women more than men, making women more likely to file for divorce than men.

Men are usually more comfortable with the status quo than women, and women are more observant of red flags than men – so men are often shocked and surprised when their wives file for divorce.

One aspect of your well-being that you shouldn’t neglect in these hectic times is your mental health. You should know that even if you cannot see a mental health professional in person, you could always find a therapist online and give teletherapy a chance.

What is teletherapy?
Teletherapy is precisely what it sounds like — therapeutic services a provider delivers to a patient using virtual technology like video conferencing. It can include mental health services as well as speech and occupational therapy.

Teletherapy sessions are similar to traditional therapy sessions with one major exception—instead of sitting in the same room, patients and therapists interact via live video connection.

Using a secure platform, clinicians connect with clients virtually and converse just as they would in an in-person session. Each virtual session is private, and clinicians are required to use approved software that complies with the HIPAA Privacy Rule, which ensures the data is confidential and secure and that all medical information is safeguarded, including therapy session notes.

Is it effective?
Many people have raised concerns about whether digital communication can provide skills, tools, and healing power to individuals staring at a screen.

One of the biggest concerns about online therapy is that therapists don’t have an opportunity to observe the patient, which is usually integral to assessing and diagnosing. The tone of voice, body language, and overall demeanor provide insight into an individual’s well-being.

However, research consistently shows that online treatment can be beneficial for many mental health issues. Besides, it has numerous advantages that in-person therapy sessions cannot offer. Read about them below.

It offers greater accessibility
Online therapy offers access to mental health information and treatment to people in rural or remote areas. Those who live in such areas simply might not have access to any other mental health treatment form because there are limited or no mental health practices in their geographic location.

Also, some people may benefit from therapy that addresses their experiences as veterans, women, or members of the LGBTQ community. With teletherapy, people have greater access to therapists who can meet their specific needs, regardless of location. Increased access may result in a better therapist match and better long-term results for the client.

Thirdly, teletherapy provides accessibility to individuals who are disabled or housebound. Mobility can be a big issue when it comes to accessing mental health care. A therapist practicing out of their own home, for example, may not be set up to accommodate all potential clients.

Greater anonymity
Teletherapy services offer a higher degree of anonymity than traditional therapy, allowing patients to express their emotions without worrying about judgment.

Being honest with your online therapist—whether in person or using teletherapy—allows patients to feel listened to and understood. It’s important to remember that you’re doing yourself a disservice if you hold back during therapy. Although live video conferences or phone calls with your counsellor may feel uncomfortable at first, it’s essential to let out your emotions in the same way you would during an in-person therapy session.

You need to be able to trust your counsellor, and that takes time, but if you’re already in a safe space where you feel like you can be yourself, you’ll be able to open up. It can be challenging to get comfortable enough to open up when you’re in a physical office on someone else’s turf. You’re eliminating some of the anxiety that you might feel when you have control over the location, such as the comfort of your living room.

Flexibility
Many people are overworked and overcommitted, and it can be hard to schedule a therapy session during limited office hours. When a therapist is available at a time convenient for the patient, it offers greater flexibility and allows more people to get the support they need when they need it.

With teletherapy, patients don’t have to sit in a waiting room, and they can often get an appointment sooner than if they were going into the office.

You can simply go to a private room, turn on the computer, and engage with a clinician – a much more appealing and viable option for many.

Different forms of communication
Text messages, phone conversations, email, video conferencing, and chat rooms are all types of communication telehealth services currently use. It offers the freedom and flexibility to choose the most appropriate form of communication. In-person counselling usually limits communication to brief phone calls and in-office appointments.

You should know that telehealth providers will go to great lengths to keep their client’s information safe.

Explorers:
This may be the best-known shipwreck in Namibia, if not in the world.

That’s mainly because of where it is located the Edouard Bohlen appears to be grounded in mid-desert, about 500 meters (1640 feet) from the ocean.

The German cargo ship ran aground on its way to Cape Town from Swakopmund in 1909.

Years later, the coastline changed and the desert began to encroach on the ocean.

The ship was a 2,272 gross ton cargo ship with a length of 310 feet.

That blend of the ship wreck and the desert sands look amazingly picturesque.

Awesome. These are the kinds of vehicle renewable technologies that must be adopted in mass transportation before the fuel subsidy is removed in Nigeria.

I just heard that the planned subsidy removal has been suspended... but it has to be done so the money saved can go into more sustainable developmental projects.

Well, it's just a normal thing with girls over here, she's acting like she's mad at you, but she's really mad at herself for giving in too easily. And now she feels cheap.
Its not your fault at all, but she's looking for someone to blame other than herself.

This is why I like white girls. (Met few in Ghana) after getting laid with a white girl, bro don’t bother ring her number again. If you do she’ll just tell you “you two had fun and you shouldn’t expect anything like friendship”
