I have made close to two hundred and fifty (250) posts on Nairaland on a one year plus account.

If I should put the percentage of times I have been assumed Igbo and even told to make my own forum by some PECULIARS here it might be too much to put all together. I might not be one but I am enraged and tired of the anti-Igbo sentiments promoted here.

What if they're actually right? Maybe we need our own internet space. Maybe I am actually Igbo in spirit and "North" by flesh.

I and ObaOfYorubaLand may have an idea on the way. Maybe all of us OBIdients and even those of us logical, critical, and progressive Nigerians tired of the going-ons here and will really want a detribalized, level-headed, Nigerian-centred forum should.

With a Tinubu "Presidency", trust me it will get even dirtier, the BMCs will not and can not allow a critical criticizms. Wouldn't want to be a part of that.

I put my mind and thoughts on Nairaland cause I love doing it. But if the space is no more conducive for that maybe I should make my own. I prefer a post with fifty(50) people and engaging and interesting discuss than one with fifty thousand(50k) butt occupied with intentional tribal saboteurs.

Who knew GRV a month ago. 99% of his voters had never heard his name one month ago, but you expected right thinking Lagosians to vote for him? This elections has exposed a particular tribe for whom they really are. An Igbo man will be president of Nigeria in future but I very much doubt it would be Peter Obi. I only blame the young and gullible Yorubas that voted for him and his hated-filled party. The young ones are always gullible so I cant blame them too much.

There are three major parties contesting for gubernatorial election in lagos. Labour Party, all people's progressive party and people democratic party.
All the parties have different people from different tribes supporting them. There are yor8bas in lagos parties and igbos in APC and PDP
There are political parties, not tribal warlike parties.
While yoruba people who are in labour party were not harassed but igbos were harrassed and intimidated to vote for a party which is not there choice .
Why cant igbos vote for a candidate of their choice in lagos ?

I'm someone that always believed that Nigeria will soon change for good but this election has proven otherwise. It's not even about leadership anymore. From the leadership of the country to the smallest citizen, there is no hope because the leaders didnt come to each polling unit to rig elections. They used fellow suffering Nigerians like you and I. So what's the point? Who are we fighting against?

I want to use this medium to tender my unreserved apology to all my friends that I convinced to vote during this last election. I personally convinced alot of my friends that


1) Votes Count
2) INEC is an independent umpire
3) The agitation for good governance will be reflected in the ballots
4) BVAS is the magic wand to eliminate rigging

However, I am embarrassed as most of my friends went out of their ways to queue for days to register and to get their pvc, at the end of the day most of them were intimidated, harassed, beaten, cheated and disenfranchised just because they wanted to vote in their own fatherland. Overall, INEC just made a fool of over 200 million Nigerians and the Chairman is still moving around freely and shinning teeth. Is this a country?

Never in my life would I have believed that there would be a time where an entire ethnic group will be harrassed out of voting in an entire state as exposed as Lagos.

Now I'm wondering why we blacks keep on shouting against racism in a white man's land and xenophobia in other countries when a fellow citizen just few metres away is regarded as a lesser human in his own country. Trust me we Nigerians are even worse than the white racist cos we aren't even superior in anyway to our fellow countrymen yet we still exhibit such barbaric attitude.

I've never been so broken and disappointed. Let me just use my last energy to concentrate on making my life and that of my family and loved ones better. The rest is left in God's hands.

I quite agree with you, but i was saying what led to the negative outcomes you mentioned.
The fear of our utterances unsettled so many of the yorubas, they now saw it as a do or die affair. They were like people who will be stripped off their glory, they saw mockery starring at them in their face.

I work with so many yorubas who had a different view during the presidential election, infact those who campaigned worked and voted for Obi and wanted to vote againt Sanwo but the utterances and the manner in which we used to campaign on social media after the presidential election made them have change of mind.

It was like us against yorubas
