Technology Market › Re: Observation About Xiaomi Mi Tv by yak(m): 3:02am On Jun 24, 2020 |
Smithwesson7: Well i have bern seeing this xiaomi TV on jumia.
After great reviews about their phones here on nsiraland and their 4k tvs on online media abroad, I decided to buy this TV from jumia( my first time shopping thru jumia). The first thing i noticed on arrival was how light the TV was compared to my Samsung.i liked that. Then i hit a brick wall..... This morning, i connected my decoder to the AV ports and discivered there was no signal. I connected my Samsung to decodrer via same AV port and same cable and it was showing.
I just pack the thing for one corner.
What could be wrong? Is AV port not supported or this is a faulty unit. Please if you have this make or type of tv or know someone who does, kindly help me confirm if this is normal.
Na to ask for refund o
Theirs phones are still awesome. A colleague uses one. Is this TV from xiaomi or my naija brothers are at it again. The reviews online in US and elsewhere and even on quora are encouraging. The said TV i bought is not smart. I almost fell for that scammer on jumia. that TV isn't from Xiaomi because the model number he quoted doesn't exist in the jumia models. just return the TV sharperly and get back ur Money. seems I'm done with jumia for now. they don't have a quality assurance unit |

HappenStone: Xiaomi has amazing phones with fantastic features. The only tragedy about their products are the retailers and the resellers.
Some of the exorbitant prices we see on this thread and elsewhere will quickly turn Xiaomi into a luxury brand that only a minority can afford. The surge of progress that Xiaomi products currently enjoy will be halted by the greed of some sellers.
Learn to stem the tide of greed roaring within. You don't have to build a house through the sales of just 3 Redmi Note 8. Haba! Be fair with your prices. A 40-45% markup on cost is too much.
Grow a conscience and banish greed!
And for everyone doing a fantastic job of keeping their prices fair, THANK YOU! I think the major problem here is the exchange rate. sincerely, when u check prices on AliExpress and other platforms and try to do the naira conversion, u will ask these retailers how they're doing it. |

Svelte98: Hi guys. Please i have a few concerns.
I'm using the Redmi Note 7, been using it for 9 months now. I've noticed that;
1) The battery drains quickly, both when its in use and when its not. 2) I cannot carry out any system update. I've tried severally, to no avail. It just shows "downloading" amd doesn't download. MIUI version is MIUI Global 10.3.10 3) Downloading apps from Google play store takes days. Sometimes 3-4 days. Can anyone suggest things that I can do to resolve these issues please?
On the other hand, I'll like to get; 1) A compatible earpiece or airpods. (for Redmi Note 7, both for calls and media) 2) Tempered glass screen (for Redmi Note 7) 3) Phone case(s); also for Redmi Note 7.
To be shipped preferably via DHL. Are there genuine sellers I can patronise please? Thanks. u are sure it's not Ur network? I use RN7 too. there was a time I noticed almost same experience as urs. I changed my browsing SIM from Airtel to MTN and I have bn fine |

xoftxoul: Mi A3 wins in every department I think certain things shld b sorted personally. I'm not saying that question came from a troll afterall Sammy don't need trolls. Each time such questions have come to me, I refer them to buy the one they feel comfortable with because i dont like someone calling my name. Each time I want to get a new phone, I state my budget go to AliExpress and other sites to pick phones within my budget then go to Gsmarena to read reviews. That's how I will convince myself what to buy |
Properties › Re: General Topic Thread-To Discuss Anything And Everything in Building Construction by yak(m): 12:42am On Jun 04, 2020 |
lastpage: Dont worry, you will understand, just say what you dont understand and we would try to explain in details for you, that is the aim of this thread: INFORMATION SHARING.
Let me take the Water issue: - Borehole is on ground level, Tank is somewhere on a Scaffold (or inside a platform in the building, hidden from sight) at the level of first or second storey. - The Upper flats (and all flats in some cases), take their water form the Tank located on the Scaffold, at a height higher than the Building or the highest Tap point, in the building. WHY? - WHY? When the tank is placed at a very high point, relative to the point of Tap in the Building's upper floor, it can use GRAVITY (force which acts downwards) to provide the needed Pressure to drive the water into their taps. - Pressure generally, is proportional to Height above ground. If you want more pressure in your taps, raise your tank higher.
So, how does the Water get from the ground (or Borehole) to the Tank placed at a height (say above the second floor for a single storey House) and does not flood the location or overflow? - There is an Electrical SUBMERSIBLE Water Pump, placed inside the Borehole, deep under the ground or on a tank at ground level. This Pump is the one that pushes the Water from the ground level/Borehole, Up into the Tank, placed Up there above ground. - To prevent the Water from overflowing when full and messing up things, an AUTOMATIC FLOATING SWITCH is placed inside the Tank. Its job is to monitor the level of Water in the tank. - It is wired such that when the Water reaches a certain "Upper level" in the tank, it will cut-off Power to the Sumbersible Pump inside the Borehole in the ground. This prevents the water from overflowing and running off from the tank. - But when the Water level gets low to a set-level, it will also AUTOMATICALLY switch-on the Electricity to the Submersible Pump, so that it starts pumping water into the tanks again. - So, by cutting-off and Swutching on power to the Submersible pump, the AUTOMATIC FLOATING SWITCH can regulate the level of water int he tank and prevent overflowing while ensuring that there is always enough water in the tank, for use (as long as there is Power supply).
-That Automatic Floating Swith costs between #2,500 and #6,000 but l can assure you that there is almost no observable difference betwene the cheaper one, and the very expensive one. I stopped buying the expensive ones and the cheaper has lasted years now and still working! I hope you under stand that aspect now?
As for Reverse Osmosis, it is just a fancy name for a subject (Osmosis) we did in Secondary School. - Osmosis is simply the movement of Water, from area of Low Concentration to areas of High Concentration, through a Semi-Permable membrane (like a Cloth, sort of). It is an "equalisation of concentration process" across a separarting membrane. - Reverse Osmosis, means the Reverse of the above, the liquid moves from the area of High Concentration to area of Low Concentration, though a membrane, under applied presuure. Let me provide a link for you, so you can get detailed reading on it, instead of me writing everything here (Some dont need such detailed explanation). https://www.thoughtco.com/reverse-osmosis-overview-609400
What it does is basically to help you remove impurities from water, so that you can have a good, clean water to drink on the other side, when your source is from not very pure sources like a Borehole. have u ever considered academic job? I think that's where u belong. u were able to simplify this to the extent that it looked and sounded ordinary |

Slimsly100: He's not wicked. Only suggesting the one he knows. By the way we've been making use of those native stuff since ages past and nothing shele! My baby experienced this 2mths ago. Hers was even worse. It started as rash like this, the next thing; sore every where on her pubic area and her waist, back and neck. I went to the hospital, they prescribed many creams and tablets all to no avail. I was then introduced to a Yoruba woman selling herbs. She gave me some herbs to boil so as to kill the stuff from within, a soap to bath her with and she mixed cacatin cream with kernel oil and one other black substance that looked like Canon powder. I applied all these and believe me if you had seen my baby's skin after the next four days you wouldn't believe her skin was that bad for 3whole weeks. sincerely, Nigerian and indeed African govts need to initiate proper research in herbal medicine. we can't continue to rely on all these chemicals and overlook the one that comes to us naturally. Every tribe in Nigeria have a herbal remedy for almost every medical condition. |
