That is not true. Once you are above the admissible age at filing for call-up, you are expected to get an exemption from NYSC service.

Mind you, an exemption still qualifies you for private or public service and government appointments.

He is right & you are wrong. NYSC reckons with Age at Graduation for mobilization. If you were below 30 at Graduation, you will be mobilized for NYSC even 30 years after..Infact, you are not suppose to get employed with your degree certificate till you acquire the NYSC certificate. NYSC is compulsory for every Nigerian that graduated before the Age of 30!

Jay is one of the most over hyped player in football history. Was never well oriented in football as regard end goals. never played with any real intent or purpose just mindless circle dribbles..little wonder caf and the world never confer on him any known award. We nigerian like him but not clubs he played for..once they saw through his cirlcle dribble they were quick to release him. He was not a magician. He was a trick star.

It took the likes of Sam allardice and their decipline antics to get him to play real team football for once in his life and that was at the twilight of his career. That's why his best football days was at Bolton. Otherwise he was just a crowd pleaser with nor ending outcome. For those of you thinking am hating, consider that For all his dribble, he hardly never emerge much as highest goal scorer, or had the highest assist or created the most chance in games. But he will emerge somehow as the most liked and most entertaining Player by the crowd. I mean by the crowd. Crowd have a need to be entertained. Coaches consider mostly ur vital stats.

Football has an end. And that's is what we call the "goals" JJ miss it many time both literally and metaphorical. By literal I mean his shots are wide. I mean way wide at times.

By metaphorically I mean to this day he did not opt for coaching or footballing academy but gambling. Am sure he was throwing away games for money even before he became a full fleshed gambling kingpin. If you are into money that way you into money that way. Bad habit no de start one day.

The said right a soldier (a recruit, may be a private) has from not being arrested by DSS is one imagined by you.. Why take double jobs? Focus on one and leave the other for someone else.

All needed was to ask for his name, area or batch number, and stuff like that. Then military police will do the rest.

Instead, the soldier man was put inside the car like he was being kidnapped.

The same government officials disobey traffic rules.

Soldier man na federal work oooo, 24/7

The federal government should be the one to handle the soldier man and not the state.

By the way, this might be scheme to make people see the importance of allowing the deputy to act in his. This would put more pressure on the assembly to announce the deputy as the acting governor.

If the deputy becomes the governor, he might carry the commissioner along and, if the governor comes back, he might deal with this commissioner.

Even if the allegation were true, behind that letter is an undertone of a vested interest...The Commissioner seems to be eager to push a narrative that will confirm the incapacitation of the Governor which may be true or wrong..But it's a choice that may consume or make him depending on the tide of things as regards Aketi's health.

But you Guys usually claim to embark on the Strikes for multiple reasons like proper funding of the University bla bla.. but the Strike is usually called off once jara enters your Salary which gives credence to believe you always embark on the Strikes for your selfish reasons..
Education / Re: Withheld Salaries: Uncertainty As ASUU Rejects Fg’s Offer by yemex04(m): 4:10pm On Nov 29, 2023
Ibegtodiffer:

- One of the major causes of the strike was 13 years of stagnant salary. How will you sincerely feel if you're the one?

- Another was FG's policy to withdraw funding for universities. That is partially happening now. If you have a child or sibling in Federal universities, go and ask them what's up.

- Thousands of students have abandoned the university education & returned to the streets. Who's children do u think we're talking about? Definitely not those of the politicians.

- The entire work missed during the strike was done. Students have been mobilized & gone for NYSC. Others are in new classes. So which work are you guys saying is undone?

- ASUU has never been the problem. The need to boost the business of privately owned universities, while aggrandizing more lootable resources is the grand target. And who owns these universities? Yes, them.

- While you have reasons to hate on ASUU, remember that the common enemy is the political class. They are bent on widening the gap on all fronts (Educationally, Financially, Socially, etc) while the victims blame other victims as is the case rn. That can only help one set of people. The politicians.

The bolded.

Did the Students graduate at the initial time they were supposed to? Can the time wasted be recovered?

See, when making a choice to go on Strike to fight for your right, be calculative about it & see same as a moment to loose something to get greater something... It is highly unfair to stop work for 8 solid Months & expect to get paid for same period of time.. If the clause of No work No pay is not in existence, it means your union leadership can always wake up one day & embark on weeks of Strike for frivolous reasons like the recent nationwide Strike because NLC President was allegedly beaten in Imo State. Before your highly partisans Union Leaders use you to play Politics, always ask them if truly it worths because the Era of going on Strike for months & still get paid is over.. I suspect you Guys are always quick to go on Strike with the mindset you would still get paid for the period of the industrial actions.. So if you must go on Strike, be ready to sacrifice your Salaries to achieve greater Goals.

Kukutente23:

Well, I disagree with the court verdict. You sought to validate it using your claimed experience. The validity of ballot papers is the serial numbers. That's what EA says. Official mark can be taken to mean anything and even if it means the stamp and signature of the presiding officers, the EA allows it with certain conditions and even prescribes condition for such ballot papers to be rejected. You are only reading the rejection in isolation without realizing that EA actually requires the returning officer to give reason why unmarked ballot papers are rejected in a form. The fact that there is no such form implies the RO accepted the unsigned ballots as genuinely used for the elections. The court messed up the case by saying NNPP ought to call the returning officer to explain why he accepted the ballot papers. That position contradicts EA. EA only asks the RO to explain if he rejects the ballot papers!!

Smiles , your disagreement which ends as an opinion is highly respected! but between the Courts verdicts & your disagreement?
Politics / Re: Tinubu And Ganduje Shouldn’t Play With Fire In Kano By Farooq A. Kperogi by yemex04(m): 8:13pm On Nov 19, 2023
Kukutente23:

But are you aware of the serial numbers on the ballot papers and the other security features on the ballot papers? Are you also aware there are situations where the number of voters exceed the pre-stamped and signed ballot papers especially in the north? It is in such cases that such ballot papers are used.

Pre-stamped & signed ballot papers? That's an open cheque for fraud now! Ballot Papers are not supposed to be prestamped or signed, it is supposed to be signed for next person accredited & ready to cast his/her votes.. How do you expect parties not to take advantage of such arrangements for massive ballot paper thumb printing.. NNPP aren't smart thieves ni.

Now it is very possible for such ballot papers to be unsigned.

There's no excuse for the Presiding Officer not to sign a ballot papers to be used for casting of vote.. no matter how long, he must be patient to do the needful & if he fails to do so, he has done a deservice to the supposed beneficiary of those votes & to the Nation, he should be punished.. but in this case, these are stolen or illegally acquired ballot papers possible from corrupt officials of INEC or snatching.

If you watched videos of Kano and Katsina especialy during elections, most times, voting continues till late into the night. So do you expect a presiding officer using ballot papers late in the night to have the patience to stamp and sign them?

Like I already mentioned, there's no excuse for not signing knowing fully well that if not signed & stamped, it becomes invalid.

That is why 63(2) of EA leaves room for such because it will be unfair to the voters that their votes are voided simply because a presiding officer failed to sign and stamp them.

Firstly,I would naturally not accept an unsigned/stamped ballot to cast my vote, i will insist on it being signed & stamped.. everyone should be so educated.

secondly, Section 63(2) of the EA is most certainly not talking about the validity of a vote cast, it is talking about the authenticity of the ballot paper.. read again & don't be clever by half.. There is a reason why so votes are said to be voided regardless of the authenticity of the ballot papers. Part of what makes a vote valid is that the signature & stamp of the INEC presiding officer. Again if we want to go by your postulation, it means people can get ballot papers through any means, thumb print & bring forward for counting & there would no ground to challenge it.. does that even make sense to you?

Secondly, signing and stamping is an INEC guideline requirement and not EA. EA only recognises the serial numbers of the ballot papers. Since the courts themselves have said INEC guidelines are not what poo in the toilet, i don't know how that becomes something to cancels votes for

Like I mentioned up, the EA can not be referring to the validity of the vote, the aunthecity is plausible. Those are two different things.. Moreover with courts verdict, they have interpreted the section 63(2) of the EA not to mean what you postulated.. everything becomes personal opinion.
Politics / Re: Tinubu And Ganduje Shouldn’t Play With Fire In Kano By Farooq A. Kperogi by yemex04(m): 4:52pm On Nov 19, 2023
Kukutente23:

Not only that, the question is if the signature and stamp are what is referred to as the official mark of the commission. I don't think a signature of an official is an official mark. Rather, there are security embossing on the ballot papers and serial numbers which I believe the EA is referring to as official mark and not a signature or stamp.
But even if that were the case, subsection 2 of that section provides remedy as well

I worked as a Presiding Officer & I know a ballot paper issued to a voter to cast his/her votes must first be stamped & sign.. Even by common sense, an unsigned document can not be said to be officially valid.. I don't know how this becomes a point of Argument.

Everything in the bracket is explaining the category of people from Caribbean being referred to. Yoruba slaves are the dominant slave population in the Caribbean. Read it this way:
1) African,
2) blacks,
3) Afro-american or
4) Caribbean blacks (including Yoruba)
The fact that a Yoruba man in the Caribbean is mixed race or light skinned because of inter-racial marriage doesn't make them white. So the emphasis on Yoruba could mean Yoruba Caribbeans are fond of trying to gum body with the white to boost their self esteem. But the whites are stylishly telling them that "we no be mate". Hence, the emphasis on Yoruba pointed out explicitly as black just to put the Yoruba back to where they belong
