The Justices didn't "judge" the case. They only said PDP has no ground to bring up such petition, which is right.

However, PDP and LP has the grounds to bring it up at the Tribunal. There's no way out for Tinubu and INEC.

They actually went ahead & set the record straight he was indeed validly nominated.

Swearing in tinubu is destroying democracy in Nigeria.
Our nation democracy is on the verge of being destroyed and those who are supposed to stand against it are turning a blind eye.

It is very difficult to build but easy to destroyed. Tinubu alongside the judiciary are at verge of destroying Nigeria's hard fought democracy

Dear sir,
You & others have to realize that the system does not operate based on what makes you happy or pleases you,it is based on constitution & laid down procedures.Your comment here shows only emotions & blackmail of the Judiciary.

Trusting that you learn going forward on how to separate your emotions from the reality of the Law,this way you will find inner peace..

They were sentenced for armed robbery. Forget about the sensational headline, armed robbery will get you a death sentence for obvious reasons. Anyone that confronts you with arms can "mistakenly" kill you too... though the judge would have been more lenient. Make them appeal the judgement

It seems like they never had proper legal representation with the report they never called any witnesses.
their legal team did little to defend them of the charges of Armed Robbery proffered against them so the Judge had no choice.

The truth is that the senators are afraid and are being cautious on whom gets the Senate presidency and house of rep . They no tinubu is very likely not going to be president.

No matter how they plan, they have it at the back of their mind that constitutionally Nigeria has no president elect.

Will the CJN damn the consequences and swear in an unconstitutional president? I don't think so. I don't see that happening.

Let's keep our fingers crossed and keep watching. Events kicks off on monday.

The Judges will have no choice than to dismiss most of them for lack of Jurisdiction.Subtle intimadations of these Judges won't change anything.. evidences & hard proofs must be presented at the Tribunals.

Politics / Re: Ahmad Lawan Best Candidate For Tenth Senate Leadership — Civil Society Group by yemex04(m): 3:08pm On Apr 24, 2023
ObinnaNnaEze:
As the race for the leadership of the 10th National Assembly continues to breed interests across parties, geopolitical zones and ethnicities, with visible evidence of religious factors in choosing the next President of the Nigeria Senate, Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Coalition of Civil Society For Democracy* has taken different views on most factors that usually shape the emergence of the leadership of the National Assembly.

About 42 leaders of the Civil Society Groups at a Press briefing in Abuja on Saturday centred on The 10th Assembly Leadership and Nigeria Interest Over Other Interests.

The Coalition of Civil Society For Democracy, speaking through the Convener Comrade Richard Leke, said "the direction where the pendulum of a society swings is a function of the quality of leadership in place. We have decided to digress a little into the common factors that will determine what happens to us all as citizens of Nigeria and our readiness to practice true democracy as best global practice.

"Certain factors should no longer be yardsticks or parameters to become the Senate president or Speaker of the House. We have so much idolised party supremacy, religion and ethnicity which have not produced desirable results in our political journey."

Comrade Leke went further to say "we must henceforth emphasize competence, merit, and experience in choosing the leadership of the National Assembly above geopolitical zones and other glorified factors practiced by politicians which have impeded our democratic growth and undermine productive legislation"

The group further expressed readiness and contiguous agitation for competence, experience and merit as against zoning and party anointing in choosing the leadership of the 10th National Assembly.

The Legislative job is quite different from that of the executive and as such, must be given different approach.

For example, Senator Ahmad Lawan who is the current President of the Senate is still the best option for the seat in the coming 10th Assembly, his geopolitical zone and his religion should not be factors that should disqualify him. This is an experienced legislator who understands the rudiments of legislation, diplomatic and productive engagement with the executive that have led the 9th Assembly in passing most crucial Bills such as the independent of State Houses of Assembly and Judiciary as well as the new electoral acts which have helped reshaping our electioneering process, and address certain ambiguity in electoral litigation and has led the most peaceful Senate in recent past" The group strongly expressed.

We have heard the President-Elect severally, emphasising competence and merit over every other factors in governance and we also hold same believe that, that is the only way we can move forward as a nation.

Moreso, the legislative Job requires strong experience as seen in other climes we claim to learn democratic norms. Only a very few experienced Senators are returning to the 10th Assembly and if we must tell ourselves the truth,we cannot afford to downplay the importance of experience in legislative leadership and as such, Senator Ahmad Lawan should be considered for the crucial legislation of the next dispensation.

Above all,we must take into consideration that the social perception of the personality occupying the seats of President of the Senate and Speaker, will certainly form the true reflection of characters of the entire 10th Assembly members.

We conclude by urging Senator Ahmad Lawan to consider running for the President of the Senate and to let the leadership of APC and other incoming legislators to note that, neither geopolitical zones nor religious factors should disqualify anyone from running for an office in democratic society as the the current Vice president and Speaker of the House of Representatives are also from same zone" Comrade Leke emphasised.

Regardless of bad belle Politics played in the SE, I will still support a Senate Presidency of SE extraction for inclusivity.. it is in the overall interest of the Country.
Politics / Re: How Obidients Successfully Destroyed Tinubu's 24 Years Propaganda Machinery by yemex04(m): 8:17am On Apr 24, 2023
proeast:
Tinubu is a street smart politician who came to power in 1999 as Lagos State governor. Due to where he was coming from, he cunningly realized that having money alone is not enough. So, he built a very strong propaganda machinery around him. Anyone who crosses he path or tries to challenge him is immediately brought down using his well oiled propaganda machinery. Not even Yorubas were spared. The highly respected matriarch of the Awolowo family also experienced a terrible backlash by Tinubu attack dogs. Others include Obasanjo, Afenifere leaders etc.

Prior to 2015 elections, Tinubu made his formidable propaganda machinery available to Buhari. The Daura man who earlier appeared jinxed suddenly became popular not only among Northern Muslims, but also in some other parts of Nigeria where he was hitherto seen as a bigot and a religious fundamentalist.

The propaganda machinery was unleashed on Jonathan, his family, cabinet and all that identified with his government. The name clueless, drunk Creek man and corruption enabler sticked on him. Soyinka targeted his wife and labelled her shepopotamus. When 2015 election came, Jonathan became so dirty in the eyes of many Nigerians that calling him dog or goat and even carrying his effigy in coffin with RIP didn't appear wrong in their eyes.

2023 and tables were turned...

No one anticipated that a powerful movement called the Obidients would emerge from no where. But it did. Before everyone's eyes, Tinubu's propaganda machinery was destroyed with relative ease. He suddenly came under severe attack. He thought it's just a joke his formidable propaganda machinery will subdue. But alas, he watched helplessly as his BATist army were run ragged by the Obidients and reduced to a ragtag confused militia. Even their generals like Soyinka who mounted his 'fascist' attack was immediately ambushed and quickly subdued by Obidients. Others like Kingsley Moghalu that came to his side were also crushed...

It is your self illusion, consolation & aggrandisement for me. But get it, the closest Obi would ever get to the presidency was the just concluded Elections & his biggest bane of decline would be the OBidients movement. The Movement has done more harm to him than good. I am not expecting you to agree with this anyways.

The headless mob choose better lives over poverty , penury and suffering. They are not blind and bewitched. They do not ignorantly follow leaders, who impoverish and make life miserable for them. Those who they follow are accountable and have integrity. Their leaders do not need to bribe them at the polling booths to get their votes. Their leaders know that they would be shown the way out if they loot the treasury or perform poorly.

Now let’s see your preference.

You prefer leaders who have completely bewitched you; leaders with zero integrity and accountability; those who you do not bother to ask why your life remains miserable; those who give you serpents in place of bread; those who bribe you with two thousand naira and you give them additional four years to make living a hell for you.

“Mark my word”? You? “one misfortune to another”? An accomplished man? A man who has publicly announced that he is very wealthy several times? He was born into great wealth, made his personal wealth and will remain so for eternity. At your age he did not have to struggle to eat as you presently struggle. Where will misfortune meet such a man, settled long ago with a family? Maybe misfortune has been your lot all your life, otherwise at your age you should not be talking about misfortune.

Your childish, baba so pe and irresponsible comment singled out a particular tribe for remark. Why not look at your own tribe for failure to make your example?

Why not even contest the position of the secretary of your street’s tenants association to know what elections feel like?

Jealousy, envy and bitterness never allow people like you make it in life. Clearly you are the kind of NFA youth that others must keep away from, otherwise hard life will be their lot.

Lolz
On a lighter note, are you part of the headless mob? You seem so brainy & I think you should give the mob head then.
