Big B1:
Here comes trouble.
Why do we have to always pull IBB's name into every single thing that goes bad?
You like it or not, IBB still represents one of the Nigerian leaders that only makes his selections based on a well proven qualification methodology; which from my point of view is the best strategy to be effective and efficient.
Big B1

You crack me up  grin You are a Big Joke. I guess you didn't mean the above in bold.  What a brave man you must be to type that and still have the temerity to hit the 'Reply' button grin  grin

I doubt this man to be a career diplomat. He may have been one those IBB or Abacha boys who gate-crashed into the Nigerian Diplomatic circle due to patronage.

@Luka and unipol

You guys are on a wild goose chase, an illusion. You have clearly shown here without any equivocation that you are toddlers with absolutely no sense of Igbo histroy, culture and tradition.

It may not be surprising to me that we may later discover that you folks are not ndi Igbo. Please I urge you to quickly put a stop to this charade and misrepresentation of the Igbo race.

For other people who may not understand, ab nito, ndi Igbo do not, cannot, EVER have a central king.

Please can the Prophet help me out with the dream I had last night? I saw myself riding a white horse, the horse took me into Aso Villa, then suddenly I saw Yaradua, Jonathan telling me that they have finished washing my car and that my breakfast is ready. lipsrsealed

@poster,
You dont have to regret it,you did the right and should be proud of yourself! smiley
You ought to get your money back plus compensation for unlawful arrest and detention, emotional stress and hourly wages lost.
If you can afford it get a lawyer and sue them or may be we can get lawyers on the forum who can take this type of cases and offer pro bono services
.
Thanks for the compliment cool But sorry to disappoint you, I am not likely to heed your advice. The way you sound one will think that you are talking about the NYPD or the Scotland Yard.

We all need to understand that the Nigerian Police is a colonial police and is still backed by colonial laws which the ultimate aim is to suppress and oppress the conquered people. Not until you get to court you will be made to understand that there is a Police Oder Act that is against LOITERING.

As for the 'Spy gadgets', lets keep it simple, about 5 million Nigerians have access to cam phones, we all could put them to use, I am already putting mine to great use. Thank you

I suggest you get hold of your reading lenses. For the avoidance of doubt this was what I said:

I used to be very stubborn with the police and it has been working for me, until the day I was stopped and asked for the receipt for the plate number of my car. I was incensed and refused to path with any 'egunje'.

I was taken to the station, after wasting like 2 hours explaining to the DPO, he ordered that I should be allowed to go. I was shocked when I was asked to pay for "Releasing" the car. I went back to the DPO, he referred me back to IPO and lo and behold he brought out an official form that must fill before any car could be allowed to leave the police premises and it attracts a fee of N1,500.

At that point I guess it was penny wise pound foolish!

Kobojunkie:
Bribery is a crime, even in Nigeria!! I know we do not automatically think that way in Nigeria but it is. You heard about the case of the illinois governor, right? He simply asked that he be bribed and now he is out of office.

I am not in anyway saying that you should do what you don't want to do but if we really need change, we ought to be willing to suffer a little to see change.
You missed the point. Obviously I know bribery is a crime and that was why I refused to succumb to it when I was asked to offer it for not showing them the reciept for the purchase of my vehicle plate number, so I ask you again at what stage did I offer bribe?
Politics › Re: Can A Nigeria Police Refuse Bribe? by youngies(m): 2:43pm On Feb 19, 2009
Kobojunkie:
Well, penny wise, pound foolish. Never mind that you committed a crime by choosing to pay bribe instead?
Kobo what will I have done in this instance? I didn't choose to pay a bribe, I was rather forced, coerced, conned, intimidated to paying for the release of my car which a receipt was issued.

And which crime were you referring to here that I committed?  huh

Two cannibals are having dinner together when the visitor pauses to compliment the host, saying " Your wife makes great soup ! " ,to which his host replies  " Yes, but I'll miss her terribly."

On the same theme many of us have no doubt wondered why it is that cannibals rarely eat comedians, and some will have guessed at the answer, which is that comedians taste funny.

Finally, if you ever happen to meet a starving cannibal, give him a helping hand.
Like give him my scrotum with two eggs for dinner?  shocked

Whoever invented this 'intercontinental lie' deserves some form of recognition from Guinness Book of Records.

My own version was made worse because I heard it from a 'reliable source' - my class teacher!

He narrated it with so much passion as if he was there live in the stadium. Gentlemen, I believed him and I still do believe him till today cool
